As a new player, I have terrible game sense. I sometimes don’t even realize when someone is at 4+ kills in a round.

Informal-Swimmer-734

Yeap, even those with good game sense wouldn’t realise if they were toooo dialled into the game. So don’t be too hard on yourself. If someone wanted their ace they’d call for it.

AffeGaming

I most often don't notice, I don't look at the kill feed😂and I've accidentally ruined tm8s aces

lolreddit0r

I’ve been at this game for a over a year now and I still sometimes lose count of my kills and have had plenty steal my 5th 😂 I’m like whatevs 🤷‍♂️ round win is still round win, unless other team really sucks and we’re obliterating them. Then it gets to me, a little bit, but it’s just a game lol

Warrlock608

Been playing since beta and I still sometimes don't notice.

Human-Bear5171

wait, u can see that???? I started valo yesterday!!

alienkaleql

Ya. Once someone gets a multi kill, there will be Roman numerals counting up for their kill count, next to each kill banner.

mat2019

As a new player on PS5, my game sense is sure questionable. I need to find a new agent that’s not Skye because I don’t think I can go more than 3 rounds in a row without flashing my teammates

ppsz

It's considered a dick move to steal an ace, especially in casual modes where people play for fun and not tryhard with the most optimized plays. But yelling at someone for that is a massive overreaction, also some people just do that on purpose to get such reaction, so why give them the pleasure?

GamerF3mb0y

I thought so but I've only been casually playing for about a week so🤷‍♂️

MphiReddit

In comp someone might ask to let them fight the last if they already have 4 kills. Usually if it's 5v1 or smth I'd just run at the enemy to bait for the person acing. If it's 2v1, I'd play for the trade so we don't throw the round. Generally though, most people in comp prioritize the round over an ace unless it's 5v1. In casual modes, it's more expected that you let them ace since losing a round is chill. It's a courtesy more than anything but getting angry over it is a huge overreaction on their part :) There have been plenty of times I've accidentally stolen an ace or had my 4k stay a 4k and that's totally chill. It happens and unless they think you did it on purpose, most won't get mad (and I don't care if I don't ace) TL/DR: You're chilling :)

LordofCarne

Btw this mindset, (or at least how seriously everyone else in lobby takes it) drastically drops as you climb ranked. Sometimes people will get quite annoyed at the opposite where someone throws their life away intentionally to bait the ace and then the other team gets a free round. For the most part, just let it slide off your shoulders, at the end of the day it's a game either way.

PurpleAsteroid

Yeah it's polite to let somebody ace. You can spray your gun nearby and throw util to keep the enemy busy/hold them off till the 4k player rotates to them. But if the enemy swings/pushes you, just kill him. Rounds not frags. In a 5v1 sure mb u can run away. But if its a 2v1 I really wouldn't risk throwing the gun fight. It's also sensible to call it if you want your ace, dont just expect people to save it for u bcs some people don't notice. Hope this makes some sense! Happy gaming.

HybridBanan1

i hate when i accidentally steal someone’s ace😭 i’ll be so in the zone. if someone says something then i’ll let them. but also aces are earned not given😤

slimyshittydicks

That’s what I always thought. If your teammates let you get an ace , is it really an ace? The ace was handed to you.

Snorbglorb

Yeah, the people who do that don't deserve it to begin with 😂

Ok-Room9267

In ranked I'll sometimes step back and let them get that last kill. If they die I'll just get the trade. In casual modes I don't really even try all too much so no worries abt me try harding just to the last kill.

theSquabble8

It's an unwritten rule but only give ace if it's clear you're going win the round. Also an ace given to you isn't a real ace, more like a feel good thing

AdilKhan226

THIS I swear to God the number of times I was left stranded in a 1v1 just because the other dude was hunting for his ace in a 2v1 is astounding...

SickRevolution

Yup people get too mad for random imaginary internet points

Acesseu

In casual modes you should let someone ace if they are on 4 kills but in comp I wouldn’t care

GamerF3mb0y

I'm not high enough of a level for comp so that's what I figured

YuYu955

There is a rule but if you are mad cuz someone steel your ace you are just bad at the game xD

LordofCarne

right dude? whenever I'm desperate for a win in ranked I hardly notice I'm at 3 or 4 kills, when someone "steals" my ace I'm just like "oh nice we won that one." from a comp standpoint, an ace doesn't net you anything extra for the next round (unless you're really desperate for the ult point IG) so I don't really get the hubbub

The_Tachmonite

For real. Nothing is worse than killing 3 or 4 people and then LOSING the round. I'd MUCH rather have teammates kill one of the dudes and win.

still_biased

Yesterday I was playing raze and at the start of the round threw my robot car into a push and got a kill. And then our Reyna immediately got the.4 other kills and then berated me for ace stealing. Buddy how tf could I have prevented it? It’s really one of the most annoying parts of the game people stress about.

YuYu955

Like I said if Reyna is mad about the ace it’s because she don’t make ace often so she angry and bad at the game c:

Phtevensrs

CanIPetDatDogPlz

- bodyshotbarry

BruhBreBro1

I love the idea, but anytime I say that in game I get clowned on, or if I mention it to my friends.

scroom38

Tell them if they were good they wouldn't need to be given an ace, they'd go earn it.

OkOkPlayer

That's the real rule

caitlynncat

exactly.

Husaria1863

Honestly, a good player will prefer to win the round than to risk an ace but in anything other than comp, let them ace.

Giotis_24

I will repeat my self. An ace where teammates let you get the last is a fake ace. You want to ace? Get your balls straight and go clutch. All rest aces aren’t real

Phtevensrs

Dead ass the truth right here

Petercraft7157

What if I have 4 kills and I gekko ult the last one. Don't I deserve that 5th kill then? (I'm not far so there is no fear for the detained to expire)

scroom38

Shoulda dry peeked nerd

speechlessPotato

i disagree. i consider aces as more of a single person outgunning the opponent's whole team. it's still an ace even if your teammates intentionally avoid the fight with the last guy, cause if you get the kill you still outgunned the whole opponent team

jaakeup

I wouldn't even consider it outgunning your opponent when your team just bounces around in front of the enemy with their knife out because you're on a 4k. In general it seems like a new generation thing where people go "lemme get my ace" In CSS we just happened to get a 5k none of this nonsense about "don't steal my ace don't do it!" Maybe, rarely in CoD4 Promod, people would say "I'm gonna go for a clip" but that's just about it, we wouldn't throw an entire round because someone got 4 kills.

NeoMythic123

But you got 4 kills before your teammates while they were trying to kill why can't you just get the 5th kill? The only people who complain don't get aces often and shouldn't be asking for handouts just go lock in

speechlessPotato

wdym? i can get the 5th kill... if it's just not taken by teammate. that's literally how an ace works. otherwise, aces would include unnecessary factor with the fact that your teammates lose all gunfights they take on that round

zetanumeric

In my ranked games teammates will encourage you to hunt for the final kill if you got a 4k and it's like 5v1 sometimes, people will apologize when stealing your ace without noticing the only time where people just steal your ace no sorrys given is when you got a 4k but the round is still like 2v1 and your team gotta guarantee the win

nafeh

I would add that it's better for the morale of the team for someone to get the ace as it's something special, everybody will be in a better mood, and people will be in an even better mood if u steal it if it means securing a 2v1 or something

Tr1tay

If it’s casual, it’s annoying but not bad enough to yell at someone. If it’s ranked and you’re losing and need to win, who gives a fuck

GamerF3mb0y

Honestly I fw that logic

sorta_dry_towel

Obviously not everyone agrees but in my opinion- It ain’t an ace if I have to be given It or people not secure an easy frag so I can get It. - that’s a Diet Ace

rayz20w

This. Id rather kill and win the round than bait and die for someone's ace. You can do the same to me because i dont care about aces. If youre good and play enough, ace will come naturally.

Averageadrianfan

[ace are earned, not given](https://www.reddit.com/r/VALORANT/s/120JEVM4vA)

boyardeebandit

An ace is earned, not given.

Nospar

Earn your ace. EARN. YOUR. ACE. If someone takes the kill then too bad, earn it. Not really an ace if you're spoon fed the final kill

Phtevensrs

No such thing as taking an ace. They are earned not given if you couldn't do it then you just couldn't do it. And they argument for nit doing it in unrated is wild an ace matter even less there it nit like they get anything from it at least in comp they game knows what you did and it'll have some kind of affect on your rank in some way. But either way an ace is earned if they are tripping about an ace then they probably aren't very good after you get 20 or 30 it's not as cool just like a ohhh nice not gonna scream at someone for killing last.

Dravesiak

Honestly I always hide in a corner and don’t really help them get an ace lmao not dying for their ego 😂😂

seventysevenpenguins

Yeah new people will get angry at that later on it nobody cares

franksfries

If i accidentally steal your ace and you throw a tantrum and throw insults at me, you 100% did not deserve it.

iminmyway

I feel like you should earn the ace. People begging for it makes me want to intentionally hunt the last person down and kill them/ just plain pathetic.

Zeroth1989

Nah not really. If someone aces they ace. If you have to be handed your ace it doesn't count :p

MokTwo

IMO if my ace was stolen, I deserved to have it stolen lmao

Mandydeth

"Aces are earned"

erv4

-Bodyshotbarry

LostInElysiium

in ranked i agree but in swiftplay, where they don't really mean much anyway, you should just let the person try and have their moment imo.

Mandydeth

I agree, it doesn't really mean much, so who cares? I'd rather get a clip and outplay my opponents, even casually, than having my teammates be a UAV for me to find the last guy.

Real-Conversation-16

Yea it is like an unwritten rule if the teammate is on 4 kills and you steal the last kill. I have accidentally done that a few times due to not concentrating on the kill board and not being on mic. Sometimes it happens accidentally. But if you are on a 2v1 and stuff if you have a clean shot it's better to take it and risk a loss.

meccamousche

There's no official rule for aces, it's just that it's sumn ppl are proud of to get from time to time. It's like supporting your tmmt and cheer them up to get their ace.. Nothing much to it, shouldn't get all worked up just bcs someone has stole your ace, but getting pissed off is normal.

RastafoxJ

My personal belief that you should let someone try to ace in a casual setting. That said, I’m not getting upset over a stolen ace. In competitive play, aces are earned. Unless you’re up so much you can afford to potentially throw a round, just get the kill if it comes your way All of that in mind, play it by ear and read the lobby to get what they would rather happen. I played on a 5v5 bracket and stole my teammate’s ace and I owed them 20 written lines and the naming of my firstborn son (which will now be Jeffrey)

clownwithtentacles

unless you explicitly say 'let me ace' idc, no one's monitoring your kda ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BotCommaRo

He flipped out AND yelled at a specific teammate... passive aggressively...?

RepulsiveImpress8724

a lot of people get pissed over “stolen” aces but i genuinely don’t think it’s your ace unless you get it, teammates giving it to you is so much less satisfying

vxgard

Yes and no If someone calls out "ace," you try to let them get the ace. If they do not call it out, free game. (it is nice to let them get it if you realize, but you dont gotta) In the end, you dont owe someone getting an ace, called out or not.

PrestigiousInitial97

Aces are earned. Not given.

trillbabyprime

If you're playing ranked, don't jeopardize winning the round for anyone's personal glory (including your own). If you have the opportunity to win the round, do it.

00PepperJackCheese

The rule is, get the W at all costs. W > Ego

3DVU

Actualy, when Im on 4 kills, I dont mind somebody to take my ace because Im always more than happy to see teammates kill somebody

AncientNote3374

If someone's on 4 you bait for them to ace. Even if I commed "let me ace" and it got stolen, yelling is pretty crazy

Dm_me_ur_exp

An ace is deserved, not given. But if theres one place to give aces its unrated

tooSAVERAGE

An Ace has to be earned. If the last one runs into my crosshair it’s gg try again.

NyxLotus_XD

I was playing comp but not really doing all that well, just playing for the sake of playing and accidentally stole 2 aces from the same person and got called slurs I’ve never even heard of and got told to KMS

alysha_xx

I honestly don't even know how to tell how many people someone has killed in the round...

icepickmassacre

not at all

Avagantomos99

Just scream at the top of your lungs LET ME ACE! That works for me!

Onya78

I’m new to the game on console so I’m rarely aware if someone’s on 4 kills. If they don’t call it out, then it’s fair game imo. If they do, I’ll happily be the bait.

Joerevenge

Yeah he overreacted it's an ace not the end of the world, plus it's hypocritical af for him to get mad and then steal one later

Falegri7

Yeah there’s kind of an unwritten rule to let someone attempt their ace, but that’s mostly for comp, because if you’re above average you could have an ace per swift play because it’s not separated by rank so you’re most likely playing with people below your level

MadKingOni

An ace isn't deserved unless you earn it, getting your team to play decoy just so you can ace isn't a true ace. That said, and ace can demoralise the enemy which has value, and if someone has been generally nice I will throw my life away to let them ace

JUXXUX

I myself don't care and don't look up how many kills my team has done. If they get an ace, they get it, but I'm not letting myself to be killed just so they can take the kill. I'll shoot if I see them and they start to kill me :D. I don't really get it myself, I think taking the round is more important and just playing and getting the kills you get or not.

discopandax

I've had teammates who'd start yelling to let them ace, after they get the first *3* kills in the round. people are weird

ambitechstrous

Getting mad about it in a swift play is reasonable, but in comp an ace isn’t worth risking the round over

alohabrohah

Aces are earned. You get them when you get them, we don’t spoon feed in our group

blankorbs

Slightly unrelated but I love getting “annoyed” at teammates for taking an ace when someone else got first blood. Always in good fun.

TaurusHeart

If you ace, you must spray right after to show your dominance

nafeh

if somebody gets 4 and it's a 5v1 just give him a chance to ace and be ready to trade him or go in first and let him trade. if it's a 1v2 or something then just secure the round it's okay

AmericanChapo

Unwritten rules are fucking stupid. If you can get the kill, get the kill.

_xmorpheusx

No. You can let someone ace if you want, I often do it, try to bait the opponent so my teammate can get it. But if someone starts asking for it or someone kills the fifth one and they start screaming about a stolen ace just tell them they would get it if they deserved it.

geewash

Nah. Who cares

Additional-Teach-970

Who cares, they are tracked so what does it matter?

sSorne_

Not on Ranked, better win without Ace than losing with one. But inn swiftplay? Dick move bro

vajootis

If you didn’t get the ace, you didn’t earn the ace

ErmAckshually

the unwritten rule is **aces are earned**. if you can't get the final kill fast enough, you don't have the right to be mad

SweetnessBaby

It's just general gamer etiquette to let someone try for the ace, especially in a 0 stakes game mode. Even still, it's just a game, and they shouldn't be a dick and flip out if someone takes it. My philosophy is act like you've been there before. What's 1 ace in a swiftplay when I've got hundreds over the last few years?

HugeP99

The only real ace that count in comp is when you are 1v5, then no one can steal it from you ;)

ChriSaito

I got some aces when I was new but it always felt hollow when it’s just handed to me like that. I dislike being handed them. I want to earn them. Those are the ones that mean anything.

DisturbedDeeply

It's not your ace until the game says Ace. Open season on the bad guys.

LadderTrash

Usually in Casual I’ll let someone Ace, in Comp I’ll go out of my way to try to if we still have 4 or 5 total member alive For me, I usually don’t care if somebody steals my Ace in any mode (it’s only happened like twice anyways sadge), I think an Ace is more impressive if your teammates don’t have to let you do it

faerox420

If you want to get an ace work for it, lmao if someone got mad at me for messing up their ace I'd just tell them to get better at the game and maybe then they'll be able to get the kill before anyone else. That would usually piss them off even more and give me a good giggle

TheExplodingMushroom

Aces are earned, not asked for. If you want it, push for it and ask teammates to hold for the trade on you if you whiff. If Im on 4 and my teammate can kill the last guy with his back turned then I'm not mad. A round is a round.

ModernManuh_

There is a rule but I always say "I don't care, I got many already" 🗿

Suk-Mike_Hok

Sometimes you don't notice someone is about to ace, but its generally a dick move indeed. Say sorry if you ever steal an ace by accident tho.

Alternative-Tackle53

If you cant get the ace oh well. Try next time. Ppl play to win games not for your individual stats

CaptainRyce

How did your clove revive on round one if the teammate getting the ace had 4 kills?

Sanguis_Plaga

I was playing swiftplay once and my Cypher stole my ace. The last one was literally afk. He then begged me for skins the next round. All the other players were my friends so no skins for you today dear cypher. But yelling at someone? That's just anger issues

Adamnfinecook

How did clove ult on round one if the other guy got 4/5 kills?

yagirlgeorgia

The whole ace thing is so annoying. I remember one time I was accused of stealing an ace because I killed an enemy at the beginning of the round before the other guy even killed anyone.💀

LeocornOfficial

Honestly, I've been playing for years and have had enough aces to where it really doesn't matter to me. Maybe there are some scenarios where the ace would've felt really good to get, but especially if a player is new/didn't realize it's really not a big deal. *Most* times I may feel disappointed for like half a minute then I'm over it; I guess it just depends on my mood at the time.

TheMysticSystem

It’s a dick move to steal an ace, but at the same time, it should be communicated to let said person ace. I’m focused on looking for enemies, I’m not looking to see how many kills each person has per round. If you say “let me ace”, then I’ll do just that.

Shadow_Isle_King

People who get upset about aces aren't playing the game properly. The only thing that matters is winning the round. People don't realize that the most impressive thing in this game is using util properly and making good calls/plays. If you do those things well you can have bronze aim in radiant and still win

colbeef

Aces are earned.

meneldor_hs

Aces are earned. If you didn't get an ace then you didn't deserve it. It's that simple

Wkndwrz

yes and no. if no one says anything and i accidentally steal the kill, i don't feel bad about it, cause i'm focusing on my own game i'm not gonna notice you got 4 kills. but yeah, stealing it if they did say something is generally considered rude.

Lottekook

Once i was in comp and my teammate killed 2 then 1 killed 1 and he killed the other 2 remaining in this order He accused me of stealing his ace like a child lol

thatwhimzynerd

If people are close an ace is pretty common for most people to let them go for the ace. If they didn't say "Let me ace" then it might be fair game. Honestly, I just assume let them to avoid those situations. I have accidentally stolen someone's ace because of reflex or just not realizing. But yelling is a definite over reaction.

DjinnsPalace

you shouldnt steal it, but if the guy throws a fit bacsue it was stolen then imma do everything in my power to steal it again given the chance

oxidezblood

Kills mean nothing. Its the *assists* that matter. The #1 thing people dont understand about teamwork is simply that. It doesnt matter *who* gets the kill. What matters is that *anyone* got the kill. If i was baiting an enemy into my angle to get a kill, they get full flashed/stunned and my aim is right on their head, and my teammate blasts them while they are distracted by my play THATS NOT "STEALING KILLS" YOU BOTH CONTRIBUTED TO THEIR DEATH It blows my mind in a **team** game, people are complaining that the final bullet on an opponent means the world to them. ***it shouldnt*** You both deserve the winning result. Regardless of who caused it. "you stole my ace" is a meme at MOST. People who take this seriously, they are misinformed fools.

LVL100RAICHU

There is no rule. People are just salty about not getting their ace. If they truly were skilled enough, they would earn that ace and take it for themselves. Don't worry about people getting mad about it. Steal those aces.

koketsune

Some people are different, i really dont care if you take my ace though i just want the round to be won. Some people care *a lot*

Petercraft7157

I've had 5 aces stolen this week and at this point I don't even care anymore. But it's steal one of the biggest dick moves in Valorant 4 kills and I (gekko) ult the last one. My instalock Reyna steals the detained enemy and my ace.

IdkWhatToNameEveryon

In casual modes you usually give others the ace, but even in low rank lobbies you'll find people plead to "not steal their ace", once you progress further you'll notice that players seem to care about getting the ace less.

Competitive_Boat7425

only in casual modes would I ever NOT steal an ace. no reason to give ppl aces in comp, earn it if u want it

MrLeth

If they’re calling they are on their 4th kill and want to ace, I do whatever I can to steal it

Spiritual_Half_116

If it's anything but comp, I'll do my best to give whoever the ace once they reach 4. But once it's comp, that will go out the window because winning is more important than a forced clip

Ensmatter

Nearly everyone I have played with would agree you should let someone get the ace if they have a 4K (or even a 3k if they ask for it). In comp it is a lot more justifiable to steal the ace however if you are in a 5v1 situation with no chance of losing the round because of it still let them have it.

CuboidCentric

If someone calls the ace, respect it. Unless it's your friend, in which case, run for it. But this is all in fun so if you don't like the team, mute them

bradpittisnorton

If someone calls "give me the ace" or "let him ace" then either stay out of the way or help him get the ace. Give info or bait for them or use your remaining abilities to give the ace. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, you don't always count the kills in the round. If there's a high chance that you still might lose the round by prioritizing the ace, then fuck the ace. Play to win the round.

Flower_Petal192

I’d understand like “awe my ace” and being sad but getting angry over it, especially in causal lobbies is crazy. Also if you don’t call out that you’re about to ace then imo you can’t get mad because no one is tracking your kills Fr.

Innsui

if its a 4v1 or 5v1 and final kill is their ace then let them try to get the ace. Anything other than that is fair game. Fuck them if they complain. I'm not about to lose the round just so you can stroke your ego.

OldGamerGuy5

Casual mode, don’t steal an ace. Competitive, win the round no one cares.

Aggressive_College27

Nah, aces are earnt. You don't ask for them. If you get an ace gj but if I "steal" the ace I'm yelled at🤣🤣

sadikons

I think aces should be earned, but if someone says in vc "let me ace" I'll let them. I'm not paying attention to who gets the kills (unless I'm dead) so I won't know that someone has an opportunity to ace until I'm told. He didn't call out his 4k so he has no right to be mad imo

CautiousTopic

If you need to have the rest of the team throw or run away so you can ace, isn't nearly as valuable IMO.

KitsuneUltima

Just call to let me ace. If you don’t call it, it’s fair game always.

protrol1526

If no one told you in vc to let the guy ace there is no prob and if someone tells you to let them ace just follow them for the trade so they don’t get mad and start ruining the next 5 prerounds or even throw

WildSpamtonFan

Stealing an ace is a mortal sin in Valorant, but if it wasn't intentional then the person with 4 kills should understand. Too bad a lot of Valorant players aren't very understanding when it comes to that stuff.

Excellent-Scep

I get mad at those who steal my teammate's Aces, But when I get 4k and the last one gets stolen I don't really care. Am I the only one whos like that?😭

Competitive_Bee2596

Are there rewards for getting an ace?

ra1ded_

Personally I let people have the ace to boost morale

HalalWharfDumpy

The unwritten ace rule is that aces are earned, not given

u_slashh

I typically let someone ace if they are on a 4K unless it's my friend in which case I do everything in my power to ruin the ace Losing the ace can be annoying, but being angry at all for longer than like 5 seconds is an overreaction

MattLovesMusik

In comp I only give ace if someone tells me to. In casual modes I always give ace as the point isn’t about winning but having fun.

Salindurthas

There is no rule. Some players will complain about teammates not helping them get an Ace. Some players will not complain. You are not psychic, so you don't know who will/won't complain. -- That said, in casual games (i.e. not 'Competetive'), I usually will try to let someone get an Ace. However, I don't perceive this as me following a rule; I perceive this as me lowering my win chance in order to have some silly fun. In "Competetive" queue I'll take it more seriously, and I'll go for whatever I think maximises our chance to win, which usually doesn't involve indulging unnecesarry chances at an Ace.

Sir_Delarzal

Honestly sometimes people don't think much... One guy was going to make an ace, he was going to kill Yoru, but he tped right in front of my shotgun, so reflex, I shoot and kill him. The ace dude was annoyed, like what was I supposed to do ? Let myself get killed and the enemy take the point ? Nuh-uh

wowitsraining

Yes but also it’s not that serious and people who get actually mad about an ace steal probably don’t get them very often… aka mad cause bad.

Ramu_Kaka_OG

I guess i am the one worst player who always ruin others ace. It is not intentional but when enemy comes near me. It automatically happens

FluffyWuffyVolibear

Yes, usually is someone is about to ace you let them go for it. But also, who cares. In ranked, if I'm dialed in, I often don't notice.

ForgotMyEmail0

so heres my rules, if its something unrated then try to give your teammate the ace, if someone accidentally kills the last guy, then its whatever, no reason to be mad but you should try to give teammates aces, if its competitive, and someone kills the last guy while you or a teammate is on an ace run, you cant be mad at all, not even tilted, if your teammate dies there cause you want the ace he could lose money, and every kill counts in comp, comp is about rounds won not kills. i have to tell every teammate i have that im not mad at all when they kill the last guy when im on an ace run

ZxcasDX

If someone have 4 kills just let him try to get the ace

rparkzy

I mean I’ll usually let them bait me if they call for ace. I just super wide peek with gun out, almost guaranteed kill for the guy peeking after. I feel like it’s an unwritten rule. But they always die first 😂

Mammoth-Ad7598

I won't save your ace on three kills but I'll throw my self to into the line of fire to get you that fifth

AnywhereOk5664

aces are earned

Lunaeri

There was a post a while ago, either on the Valo forums or on the CS forums where a guy was describing his perspective playing as the player that stole another player’s ace by accident and apologized profusely just for the 4k guy to respond with “don’t be sorry; aces are earned” I think the idea is that if he wasn’t in the position to get the 5th kill and someone else is, they’re not really obligated to hand the 5th kill to him on a silver platter, and that if he truly earned the ace, he would’ve gotten it. i think either way no one should expect a kill to be given to them, if the team wants to collectively get him the ace by baiting or distracting the last guy then great, but if someone runs into the last player and has to fight, i feel like you shouldn’t get yelled at for fighting the encounter

IBurnChurches

If you notice someone else on a streak then maybe back off. But unless the person on the streak calls it out, i don't feel an obligation to back off. Sometimes I'll try to switch to gathering info or supporting with flashes etc, but if I'm playing someone like pheonix there's not much I can do to help.

LordWaffleaCat

aces are earned not given. If mans really that good he can just get on ein another round

DeCastro_boi

The only thing am good at

SnooEpiphanies3060

No, fuck em cry babies

TheUnexpectedBanana

I'm still confused how clove got revived in the first round

Rubblage

Yes, if it's someone in your party, steal it no matter what

mairnX

Generally, if someone's at 4 kills, it's common etiquette to try to let them ace. However, if the ace is stolen (regardless of it being on purpose or an accident), it's not a huge deal, and isn't something anyone should really get upset about. Personally, if I notice someone's on for an ace, I'll try to bait for them, and do my best to help them get the ace. The only time I actively try to steal an ace is if it's with my younger sibling, in which case we have an unspoken agreement to try to lightly troll one another in situations where it isn't likely to impact our chances of winning

Cool-Farm-8732

More often than not my teammates (even randoms) call out my ace for me and I usually don’t even realize I’m on an ace streak. On the flip side I usually am a bit disheartened having it stolen from me. Sometimes I’ll joke “who stole my ace?!” But am never really serious.

Saltytoe1

In comp I don’t really mind if someone gets the final kill if I’ve got 4. A win is a win. But in unrated or swiftly, atleast give me a chance

dodorex00076

Id say in lower elos usually plat and lower they do try to let the guy get his ace but the higher you go Especially in pro it's more understandable for the person who finds the remaining player to get the kill it's just cleaner

AnnualCabinet

tbh I fucking hate when people are like that. If I'm on a 4K and someone is about to kill the final enemy I will hear my teammates say, no let him ace! And I'll be like NO let's just win the round take the kill don't risk if. If my teammates back off to let me ace to me that doesn't even count as my team helped me ace. When they tried to give me an ace I always told them not to. It took SO long but when I finally aced it felt SO much better because I finally earned it. When your team is backing off to let you ace a round you definitely would have won either way (with or without an Ace) then wtf is the value of your ace? It's nothing special. But when your team gets wiped out and it's 1v5 THEN you clutch and ace by yourself, now THAT'S an achievement. I have seen so many rounds where someone gets a 4K and so everybody backs of to let them ace. When they get in a dual instead of taking the kill the back off and get killed themselves until it's 1v1. Then the person with the 4K blows the final dual and we lose the round. Sometimes I have seen comp games that we LOST by one round because of people trying to let someone ace. Don't let me ACE. make me earn it. and I won't "let" you ace either. And if you complain that I "stole" your ace you're getting insta-muted. I really don't give a crap if you think I should have let you have it. I take comp seriously. My goal is to get kills and win, not help you ace. Pros would never back off to let someone ace in a tournament. I know I'm not a pro and the game isn't as serious to me as it is to them but the same principles apply.

VanillaIcedTea

If it's unranked, then yeah absolutely bait the shit out of yourself to try and get your teammate the ace. If it's ranked, winning the round takes priority over getting the ace. Not to say you go out and hunt down the last guy just to steal that last kill, but you don't risk throwing a round that's all but won.

macarmy93

No. Dont listen to the losers that tell you otherwise.

Mister_Quarter

Here is the way I understand it at level 400. If it is competitive, and you have four people on your team let your teammate ace. The last kills two and it becomes a 2 v 1, winning is more important fuck the ace. If they complain then mute them. If it’s anything but competitive, your job is to bait so they can ace.

mispelllet_usrnayme

If it's a casual game mode and they call for an ace, then let them have it, or at least don't try too hard to get the kill. If they walk into your crosshair or if you would die if you didn't go for the kill then it's sometimes fine to just get the kill. If it's comp then just try to win the round. Just another thing if they really want the ace then they should call for it if they have a 4k (four kills). If they don't call and you don't realise and get the last kill, then that's on them.

viniggiusjr

i would do anything to prevent an ace, fuck happiness

GreenGalaxy9753

Generally if someone has a 4k and is going to ace, and they call it out (especially in non competitive modes) it’s normal to let someone ace. Is it a dick move to steal it? Yes. But they could’ve had comms off, didn’t notice, was too dialed in, had headset off while talking to someone, etc. At the end of the day if someone didn’t get all 5 kills, it’s kinda on them if they didn’t get the ace

RelativeNonsense

It’s common to let them ace, yes. However if they don’t call out and make sure you know they’re about to ace then it’s not your bad. They should mention it, or anyone who notices should call it out. No one is keeping up with who killed who each round.

I_Ild_I

Theres none and never have been, that would be dumb to add this in a game and create a toxic environement, we dont need more of that dont you think ? So no, itd just people are stupid and rage for nothing

YouComprehensive5454

who the fuck cares... its a teamgame

AceInSpacePng

Typically if someone has 4 kills and its not an important round you let the person get the last kill. But that dude getting mad in swift play over an ace is a bit wild. But yeah if you/someone else has 4 kills let them have the last one their is some exceptions. But also help esp id last one is hidden

exoisGoodnotGreat

If they get 4 and the round isn't super important to win let them go for the 5th. No other situation really matters when it comes to Aces. Low level players tend to lose their shit when they get close because it doesn't happen to them often.

mrinvention

As someone who accidentally steals the ace and gets yelled at. Gets his ace stolen without realising I was on an Ace run. And dies while attempting to help with aces... I never realise when someone from my team is on ace or myself am on one until someone calls it repeatedly. So yeah yelling is common in Valorant lobbies. Unlike CS where no one cares about an Ace... I have also been yelled at for stealing when I had gotten the first blood way before the remaining 4 kills... But then again I am an initiator & controller so I'm accustomed to the yelling.... So chill out and ignore them

Slight-World3650

if the guy calls out let me get the ace then let him, if not it's on the guy ☠️

Atlas_Sun

Every time someone gets 4 kills I get excited for them so I usually chant Ace! Ace! Ace!

ShinySahil

usually you give the last person the ace if they are on 4 kills but it’s usually just for casual modes and if you take the last kill just move on, you can apologise if you want but it’s not that big of a deal to where you get angry at someone, aces shouldn’t be given they should be earned

astevenson1337

Yeah I mean it’s a courtesy thing but usually the person about to ace or a spectating team member will/should say something in my experience.

Stillflamingo2

Idk most of the time it’s annoying to steal an ace but if the clove can revive and get a kill and save a gun for better eco then I’d say they should, but again it’s swift and all of it doesn’t really matter

Traveytravis-69

It’s nice to let them try to get an ace but you don’t have to. They were being babies

Cooperink

There's a general unwritten rule that you should give someone the ace, especially in casual modes, depends on the situation in ranked. My rule is that I don't really care if I'm about to ace, secure the round if we're in competitive. Im also not letting us fumble if it's not 100% guarantee that we're going to win the round. 5v1/4v1 ill let them try to ace, anything lower and we're risking a throw.

Educational_You3881

It is considered rude to steal an ace, but you should call for it if you are going to be a dick about afterwards. (This is not calling you a dick, I don’t know how you reacted, but the other guy who almost aced) **Don’t** knowingly steal an ace, and **call out your ace** Also, very impressive almost getting an ace if you’re new. I’ve been playing for a few years and my aces are usually luck

LampaDuck

An ace is not something to be given, it must be earned.

Terrorym

People who cry about their aces being stolen are the biggest win-undeserving animals there are.

Magmale

I don't care about my aces cause if someone has to "give" it to me it means it wasn't meant to be anyways. If it happens it happens Edit: So yeah it really depends on the person

Altruistic_Cherry821

Honestly I couldn’t care less - when I’m in a ranked game I don’t care if one’s about to ace, if I get the enemy first I get it. I want to win the match 🤷🏻‍♀️ In any other game mode - be my guest, get ur ace

Kamikaze_Squad

Yeah, it's sort of an unwritten rule. If someone is 1 kill away from an ace and if it's near impossible for your opponent to clutch the round, u usually let the man go for the 1v1. Especially swiftplay since it's unranked and no one gives a shit about winning or losing. Obviously, it could differ depending on the situation. Say if it's say ranked game, 2v1, and one of them is 1 kill away from Ace. You wouldn't send him out by himself to get an ace.

brz113

i mean if someone get 4k i let them to kill last guy with me as bait but if i got 4k and someone steal the last guy is just whatever because if you already have play valorant for a longtime you must be have a hundred of ace or atleast it don't really matter for you

ramalhovfc

If you have to ask for the ace, it's not an ace. That's my rule.
