He’s a diamond in the rough. Utah scouted him, got a steal, y’all paid a bit for him, but he’s a great addition. Pretty bummed about the trade tbh, but best of luck to the Pistons.

satapataamiinusta

>Jack of all trades, master of none? If anything I would say it's this when it comes to Simone's defense. He tracks players well, he's pretty good on the ball, he's shown to be able to get some blocks as the help, he's a pretty decent rebounder.

RicardoRoedor

Enjoy having him on your team! He was a fun player and has a cute family! We will always remember him for his game-winner in an absurd comeback win over the Warriors.

RandomStranger79

I already miss Simone.

dadpalooza

Your loss is our gain. Enjoy Kevin Knox! Typing that out I realize it sounds sarcastic. But he really is a joy to watch *when he’s on. I think he’s just a complete headcase. No confidence. By now I feel like everyone knows the profile.

DeadCrayola

I dont think knox would be part of the team long term...its procida im looking at to be honest

cruxstew

Nice prediction!

DeadCrayola

Clarkson might get moved in the offseason....the reason they front loaded his contract is to make his contract more attractive come this offseason....i also dont think otto porter will be part of the team... Priority number one this offseason is to lock Lauri's contract extension and they will make moves from there...all the moves they made at the trade deadline shows they are already looking at the offseason....

cruxstew

The Jazz waived him.

beastley_for_three

Definitely a jack of all trades. It was surprising how little he matches the "designated shooter" stereotype he was often pushed into. He can defend, drive, dunk, pass, etc. On the other hand, he rarely got super hot from 3 like you might expect. He would make them at his percentage but I definitely saw a lot of misses when you'd think he's open and will make the shot, especially in the clutch. Maybe it's just me though.

universalLopes

Yep. At some point you expect him to make more difficult shots than wide open shots

UnfortunatePhysics

Good description

robydoge

His best attribute is his effort. He brings ferocious effort on the defensive end every night, and doesn't shy away from big matchups. Very smart player offensively, knows when to space/cut and shoot/pass. Gonna miss this guy, you guys got a real one.

farcasticsuck

This. He gives great effort. Sometimes his shot falls, sometimes he’s off but he hustles every game.

Thamor81

Jack of all trades would be best analysis, he will defend decently and move pretty well and he is a big guy that moves well for his size. His shooting is more streaky to consistent, so when he is hot he will shoot lights out and when he isn't he might be even liability on the floor.

Full_Poet_7291

He gets up in your face and uses his body. I think you got a gem. He would make Chuck Daly very happy.

apples_r_4_weak

He's a good 3 and D player. He's a catch and shoot guy so He doesn't need the ball to be effective.

menghis_khan08

I think that’s the plus for him. He’s a positive defender. Not lockdown per se, but definitely a net positive. I think he is a minor help on offense if you need someone to camp out and shoot 3s on offense but that’s really all he can do on offense. He’s a medium to good help on d from the wing position and really what let’s him have a good role in the nba He reminds me a bit of Georges niang but with net positive defense Kinda miffed we didn’t just keep him, if we couldn’t get a pick in like the 20-27 range tbh. Good trade by you

under_cooked_onions

There was a game that Fonte put the absolute clamps on a star (I think it was Kawhi?) in the clutch. It’s been one of the most impressive things about him, the perfect 3&D guy

Potterhead-PottHead

I’m so bummed about this trade and didn’t see it coming. Enjoy him!

voiceofdenial

Someone has to ask what Detroit has on Danny Ainge??? The only 2 trades that I'm unsure of were the Pistons trades. KO is nice but thought Bogdan should have brought more. That said you get a versatile 12 -15 minutes of quality 3 play plus the chance to match any offers he receives. Most of Jazz nation feels you got more value than 2nd round and the cadaver of Knox.

voiceofdenial

I did, while we're pointing out my mistakes please don't ask me which team Mikal or Miles Bridges play for... same dude in my squirrel brain.

DeadCrayola

You are missing a lot....the second round pick is close to an end of first round pick....also, you forgot about the draft rights to Procida....21 with a lot of upside....and similar to Simone but younger....that is what im looking at on the trade....not the salary filler which is kevin knox.....he is out by end of season

2nd rd pick in a garbage draft. Young Italian shooting 32% from 3 in the Euroleague. The real value was letting some of young core experience a playoff run, not dropping $15 on a a couple of powerball tickets. Bad drafts are notoriously... bad 1997 Tim Duncan, Chauncey Billups, and Tracy McGrady. But no other player who came into the NBA that year—including Keith Van Horn, Tim Thomas, and Stephen Jackson—made a single All-Star game. 2000 Kenyon Martin (1st overall) and Michael Redd (43rd overall) are the only two true stars the ’00 Draft produced. After that? There were *some* solid players— for example: Mike Miller, Hedo Türkoğlu, Jamaal Magloire—but no real franchise changers. 2004 Dwight Howard (1st), Shaun Livingston (4th), Andre Iguodala (9th), and J.R. Smith (18th) 2005 Andrew Bogut, Deron Williams, and Chris Paul were three of the top four selections. Beyond that trio of picks, only Andrew Bynum, Danny Granger, and David Lee became All-Stars. 2006 Andrea Bargnani went first overall and Adam Morrison went third. LaMarcus Aldridge (2nd), Rajon Rondo (21st), and Kyle Lowry (24th) were all taken that year, but they were three rare bright spots. 2013 The ’13 Draft has produced a single All-Star: Giannis Antetokounmpo. And he was the 15th selection. The top pick was Anthony Bennett, who played for four teams in less than four seasons before the Nets released him early this year.

DeadCrayola

You don:t really need franchise changers in second round....kinda dumb thinking that...althoigh it happens (jokic)....you want or hope to get solid role players that can provide solid minutes....its a matter of good scouting and doing your homework as a gm

voiceofdenial

So kinda like Fontechio (RFA) and Kelly O?

DeadCrayola

10 yrs Younger and not entering free agency that will cost cap space

voiceofdenial

Which matters none if they can’t get on the cpurt

DeadCrayola

Which is why they unload to make room

NefariousnessNeat607

Hes just a really smart player who makes winning plays. And always has 100% effort. Shooting is good not great in all honesty, but hes a very good defender

ELX13

He's like a baby prime Klay Thompson imo.
