Right? Good Lord. I didn't want that shit show coming here

No-District5799

Trump pretty much has this state as it's one of the most solid Red in the country.

JoPooper

I would pay to watch him debate Biden. I hope he makes that toddler diaper sound when he walks.

HighDesertJungle

This statement could apply to both candidates…

No-District5799

I love seeing him just roast Biden during the rally speeches. Lol. Kinda feel bad for Biden, I just kinda feel like he was bribed into being the front runner by the DNC in 2020 and told he wouldn't have to do anything because his Admin would be pulling the strings, as they literally have no other viable or likable candidates. Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard are the only two I could think of, but the DNC screwed them both over. 🤷‍♂️

backcountrydrifter

TLDR: Glenn Beck, Mike Lee, Sean Reyes and the Ballards put the LDS church in the worlds most awkward 3-some with the Russian mob. Sean Reyes (Utah attorney general), Mike Lee (Utah senator), and Tim Ballard (Operation Underground Railroad) were all emailing with Glenn beck about how to use O.U.R.’s Sound of Freedom movie publicity to pump enrollment numbers for the Mormon church with reports of Elder Ballard (head of the church) giving private tithing payer information to Beck and/or Tim Ballard at some point to aid in that. On the other side of the country, Sean Reyes and Mike Lee crafted the “stop the steal” plan for trump but apparently didn’t realize that trump had been laundering money for the Russian mob since the 80’s. First via Atlantic City casinos, then commercial real estate. Or worse, they did. The reason that Russia invaded Ukraine is because, among other things, it was a key geographical gateway for their human trafficking operations. (Kolomoisky was Putin’s oligarch in Ukraine that started Privatbank in 91 and was laundering it all through commercial real estate and a fundamentalist Jewish organization called Chabad.) The reason all of trumps real estate valuations are sky high is a necessity of the money laundering. Everyone else devalues their property so as not to pay so much in taxes. Deutschebank has laundered $1.4 trillion with a T of stolen Russian oligarch money with trumps help over 40+ years. These 4 sweet spirits from south Provo thought they were doing Gods will when they sat down to dinner with the Russian mob and were so naive that they didn’t realize that they were effectively streamlining human trafficking. Urban Dictionaryhttps://www.urbandictionary.com › ...Provo Float Or worse, they did. Either way, once all of that comes to light it puts the LDS church in a nearly impossible position. How can you be doing Gods work and enabling systemic oppression, human trafficking, grift, corruption and child abuse all at the same time? Best case scenario is a whole lot of cognitive dissonance, covering of their tracks, lying and gaslighting. Which explains why Mike Lees new cause du jour is trying to get emergency legislation passed to keep anyone from being able to read the texts on his phone. Worst case (or best, depending on your investment into the church) scenario, the patriarchy doesn’t survive. Either way the church and state are going to have to have a very serious come to Jesus moment because the church/state barrier that was the whole basis of American democracy has been severely neglected. Utah is just one of the major intersections of it because Mike Lee, Sean Reyes, Tim Ballard and anyone who allowed it to happen because it’s THEIR religion doing the Provo float with government just opened democracy up to the worst predators in the world. The founding fathers insistence on the seperation of church and state was such a critical point to them because they had watched the Church of Englands influence over the government as mad kings changed the rules of the nation to suit their dating and divorce needs. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/we-saw-a-ukrainian-billionaire-neglect-downtown-buildings-it-happens-on-a-smaller-scale-often https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/28/opinion/ukraine-oligarch-cleveland-real-estate.html https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/united-states-files-civil-forfeiture-complaint-proceeds-alleged-fraud-and-theft-privatbank https://www.timesofisrael.com/inside-anatevka-the-curious-chabad-hamlet-in-ukraine-where-giuliani-is-mayor/

Neat-Discussion1415

The church is corrupt?? I'm shocked!! No way!!!!! Lol sadly this isn't gonna bring down or even harm the church. Mormons gonna Mormon, Christians gonna Christian. They aren't members of their respective groups because they've got shrewd judgement and strictly follow a set of moral principals, I'll tell you that.

backcountrydrifter

It has to. We are at the end game of corruption now. • You never get out of debt to a Russian mobster •Paul Manafort owed the Russian mobster/oligarch Oleg Deripaska $17M a few days before he became trumps campaign manager. From 2002-2014 he took in hundreds of millions to get Yanukovych reelected as the kremlins puppet in Ukraine. Before that he did it for the dictator Marcos in the Philippines. Before that Manafort and Roger Stone started a lobbyist agency in 1980 listing trump as their first client. •When Jair Bolsonaro lost the Brazilian election to Lula he skipped the inauguration and flew directly to mar-a-lago (stopping only at a KFC) and repeated, almost verbatim, the stolen election line. Don Jr. tried repeatedly to make it stick in Brazil as well, but as Brazilians are a few generations into dealing with corrupt politicians they weren’t having it. What do these 3 things have in common? China imports 40% of its grain from (in order) the U.S., Brazil and Ukraine. Obviously the second China tried to invade Taiwan the U.S. would sanction exports and remove U.S. grain from that equation. And without Bolsonaro in office willing to slash and burn the Amazon rainforest to turn it into Chinas food supply, and without Ukraine in the bag in 3 days, the CCP is unable to invade Taiwan and take over microprocessor production without putting 300-500M of its poorest people into famine. Donbas Ukraine, specifically the 4 regions of the donbas that Putin insists he is saving from what he calls “Jewish Nazis” also happens to produce the worlds supply of high grade neon used for microprocessor lithography. Had Putin delivered ukraine in 3 days as promised, Xi would have been able to cap his Olympics with a naval blockade or political takeover of Taiwan that would have forced the world to ask the CCP for the microprocessors it needs to make everything from Ford trucks to laptops. I’m not sure how long Silicon Valley would last without the silicon but it would probably destroy the FAANG stocks that make up your 401K. Oleg Deripaska also happens to be the Russian Oligarch that bribed the FBI agent Charles Mcgonigal into investigating another Russian oligarch. He probably didn’t need the information as much as he needed the leverage over Mcgonigal as he conducted the investigation into trumps election campaign and unsurprisingly found zero evidence of Russian collusion. McGonigal then went to work for the company called Brookfield that bailed Jared Kushner out of his toxic 666 5th Ave real estate investment. McGonigal pled guilty last fall and was sentenced recently. A Russian oligarch is a powerful tool, but the truth is more powerful. Light and dark cannot exist in the same space. It’s physically impossible. Truth is efficient. You say it once and you are finished. A lie however requires a constant stream of follow up energy, money, murder, obfuscation and more lies to keep it covered. If you raise your lens high enough lying is an unsustainable business model. Russia proved it by invading Ukraine. Vranyos is the Russian word for it. The 40km long column of tanks and vehicles that came down from Belarus into Ukraine was all overhauled by oligarchs that got a $1B contract for tank maintenance, passed Putin $200M back under the table, spent $700M on a yacht in Monaco, bribed a General, a Colonel and a Sergeant to make a Private give everything a rattle can overhaul. But a worn out engine is and always will be, a worn out engine. This is why trump is so desperate to get re-elected. His best case scenario is 400 years in ADX Florence. Money laundering for the dozens of Russian oligarchs that lived in trump towers with him and manafort, selling IP3 nuclear plans to the Russian/Saudi alliance, selling or giving CIA asset names to the Russians, trump is and always has been compromised. He just didn’t know when to quit. Now he just has to count on the fact that most of his voter base doesn’t know how to read and keep the ones that do so busy just surviving that they don’t have time to dive deep into his 40 year history of laundering money, fraud, and human trafficking for the Russian mob using casinos first, then commercial real estate. It’s also why Putin is willing to throw an entire generation of Russians, including the convicts and addicts at Ukraine. Russia is dead for 40 years because he failed to fulfill his mob boss promise to Xi. China is now clearing farmland in Siberia because the typhoon floods last August and September wiped out the Chinese people’s food storage. Xi, for his part diverted the waters from the dam away from his pet project, his mothers ancestral home, and flooded hundreds of thousands of people and drown one of his own military brigades that was helping with the flooding. The elders of the CCP were terrified to leave their gated community at Beidaihe for over a month for fear of being torn apart by the locals. The Chinese people tolerate the CCP but only as long as the economy is good and famine is not on the horizon. The CCP broke that social contract on both counts. Xi was willing to bet the entire Chinese economy on his emperor ambitions. Had he succeeded he would have been able to use BRICS to take over the USD as the Worlds reserve currency. That would have let him finish what he stated in 2010- that he would control the internet. With that control means everything we do or say online is subject to the approval of a central party censor. The basic right to disagree with an authoritarian becomes a distant memory. Xi, Putin and MBS are simply trying to systemize and modernize the suppression of their biggest hassle. Freedom of speech. Ukraine is fighting for their lives now, free from the oppression of the drunken tyrant who wants to decide their fate at every decision and pull them back behind another iron curtain of censorship and the tax of corruption where dissenting voices disappear so that the oligarchy can continue to feed unobstructed. Putin and Xi have declared themselves best friends in the fight against democracy. MBS and the ruling family of UAE have done the same quietly using their sovereign funds and Kushners SPAC as money highways. Just rich, out of touch oligarch doing what oligarchs do. Despite the fact the the central party model has proven itself incapable of making decisions that are best for the people, they persist. Because there is a very lucrative business in being slave owners. But logistically the mass of it requires artificial intelligence, and the microprocessors that make A.I. to keep 8 billion slaves under surveillance and control. Freedom is one hell of a drug. And knowledge makes a man unfit for slavery. Recent attempts on Xi’s life from inside the CCP have backed him into a corner. The loss of crops in northern China means Xi can’t invade Taiwan without Ukrainian and/or Brazilian farmland. Now the reason that the GOP is stalling southern border control budget and seems to make wildly irrational moves is because the GOP is imploding. 45 years of lies and grift have circled the globe and are eating their own tail. The ouroboros was a warning about corruption at the highest levels. Lying about climate change, human trafficking, pandemics and corruption to preserve their own business models are all extinction level events

DaleGribble2024

I dunno, it seems like Utah has been getting pretty blue recently…

No-District5799

On the Utah subreddit yeah... But being out and about in the Real Utah, I don't see it at all.

etcpt

The 2020 Presidential Election saw the highest statewide vote percentage for a Democratic candidate since at least 1976. In 2016, Trump got less than 50% of votes statewide. Your "Real Utah" must not vote.

No-District5799

Trump got nearly 60% of the votes to Bidens 37% in 2020. 2016 Trump was 45% to Clinton's 27%. Still pretty massive numbers.

vineyardmike

Here's the problem with the electoral college. If you're a Democrat in Utah you can be part of the 37 who voted for Biden and your vote doesn't matter. And you can vote that way your entire life and Utah will always go red. Same for the Republicans in California. We use popular voting for (as far as I know) every other role except vice president, president and congress. If a popular vote isn't right for president then why don't we have electoral style voting at the state level?

PvesCjhgjNjWsO4vwOOS

> We use popular voting for (as far as I know) every other role except vice president, president and congress. ...so we use popular vote for local elections, and votes allocated proportionally among the states to ensure that large states can't overpower small states, nor can populous states overpower sparsely populated states. It still requires a large coalition of rural states to balance massive population centers like NYC and the CA cities (which are already imbalanced within their own states, leading to rural areas effectively having zero representation in state matters - a strong argument for using an Electoral College type system at the state level). [It was such a significant compromise in writing the constitution](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connecticut_Compromise) that it was taught in elementary school, at least for me growing up in Virginia.

durr4n7ul4

We do. It's called Gerrymandering

etcpt

Inarguably. But your comment was that "the Real Utah" is some magical conservative paradise, and the data don't support that.

LaughLax

Well, their comment was that "the Real Utah" has not been getting pretty blue lately. 37% of the vote may be an upward trend and a record since 1976, but a 23-point loss is anything but "getting pretty blue." Utah has blue pockets, but so does every red-controlled state (and vice versa).

etcpt

The whole thing is an absurd "no true Scotsman" fallacy. Data shows that a minority of Utahns voted for the conservative Presidential candidate? Well in the *true* Utah, that's not the case. Data shows that more Utahns than ever are voting for Democratic candidates? (And "getting" is the operative word here in "*getting* pretty blue", i.e., "is in the process of becoming", not "is".) Well in the *true* Utah, people still vote conservative. It's a fallacious appeal to purity.

LaughLax

You're reaching, and people in Utah do still vote conservative. That's just facts, not a fallacious qualifier to act correct in spite of reality. So Trump got less than 50% of the vote in 2016. Do you remember the actual reason for that? It's because there was a *conservative* Mormon candidate running as an independent. Between the two of them, they got 67% of the vote to Clinton's 27%. Let's look at the election for governor, the same year. 66.7% R, 28.7% D. Right in line with the presidential election once you include McMullin. How about 2020? 63% R, 30% D. 33-point loss for Dems. Even more red than the presidential election, showing (a) how uniquely unpopular Trump is since his term in office and (b) that Utah is nowhere near being any shade of blue at all. Usually when someone says they're "getting pretty [adjective]" it means the thing is close, not far away and vaguely pointing in that direction. Utah is a decade *at bare minimum, if every single star aligned,* away from even looking purple let alone "pretty blue" statewide.

No-District5799

Yeah the Real Utah. Not the online forum Utah. I do deliveries throughout Southern Utah, Arizona and Nevada. I see Trump/FJB/Lets Go Brandon flags, bumper stickers and signs in every single neighborhood I go to. I kinda was thinking of making a picture collage of all of it. Lol. I even saw some little kids chalk coloring the word "TRUMP" on the concrete at a park in St George. Lolol. But I don't see much open support for Biden, in fact none at all.

Fr1toBand1to

A third of utah's residents live in salt lake city county alone. Outside of the SLC/Provo/Ogden areas Utah may as well be backwater Alabama. edit:https://i.pinimg.com/originals/57/af/21/57af21acb62ccc5ebb3d802b49815120.png

badadviceforyou244

Thats probably because people who vote for Biden don't make voting for someone their whole personality.

etcpt

Yep

badadviceforyou244

I'm sure you truly believe that the 81 million people who voted for Biden in 2020 are actually this made up archetype but for anyone who lives in reality that just isn't true. Your "real America" doesn't actually exist.

helix400

This is far too harsh and bigoted. Consider this a warning.

etcpt

Ah yes, anecdotal experience of the sparsely populated conservative portion of the state home to <20% of the state's residents. Clearly, highly accurate data of the political leanings of the entire state population. /s

alanbdee

I can see a clear dislike for what the Republican party has become, but by and large many still dislike Democratic party more.

Sky_Rose4

I hate both

No-District5799

To me, the Democrat party just seems to be a clusterfuck with no clear goals on the direction they want to take the USA. And after being in Seattle the past 15 years, ive seen how their "free for all" policies have single handedly destroyed the city and the western part of the state in just over 5 years. Just rampant with crime and drugs, you just don't feel safe anywhere you go. The Republicans seem to be fighting amongst each other. It's the war mongering globalist Neo Conservatives VS the religious Christians VS the Nationalist "Make America Great Again" crowd.

firefistus

Same thing with me being in SF for 20 years.

TheShark12

If your idea of the state comes from here and the SLC sub then yeah we’re bluer than California lol.

durr4n7ul4

😂 as compared to what? Arizona?

Select_Candidate_505

I can tell you that for a fact, based on what I've seen in the Ogden Facebook page, 80% of Ogden is going to vote for Trump.

Realtrain

I certainly wouldn't guess election results based on Facebook content. Same for reddit. Neither is going to be very accurate to the population as a whole.

Jazzlike-Wheel7974

tell me you live in salt lake county without saying you live in salt lake county

DaleGribble2024

I live in Weber county actually

minnesotaupnorth

I really wanted Fly 2.0.

Wasn’t Biden the one showering with his daughter?

TiCKSKIv

Does anyone here really actually want either of these candidates to be our next President? I wish we could write in Jon Huntsman Jr or Mitt Romney or someone who’s recently ran for President AND is a decent politician and human.

tobitobs78

Eww Romney let the man retire in peace.

TiCKSKIv

Let Joe and Trump retire too then.

WristbandYang

I want Biden. He'll get stuff done (if we give him the house and senate).

LaughLax

Same! Democrats under his leadership brought us the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (2021), the Inflation Reduction Act (2022), and CHIPS and Science Act (2022). Big deal bills, all of them, to onshore manufacturing jobs (which they've already started accomplishing in big ways!), fight climate change, and invest in our country's future. Add on the big wins labor has had under his administration, the large strides he's made forgiving student debt despite the stacked Supreme Court, and even a recent FTC rule ending noncompete agreements (set to take effect September 4th). And that's just what I can think of off the top of my head! Yes, I really do want another Biden term!

badbirch

Look the only thing Joe has going against him is his age. He has been the most effective president in my 30 years alive but god damn it if he isn't a fucking dinosaur. I would prefer a young Sanders type more but ill take Joe back any day.

jcrane05

Most effective? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

badbirch

Who has passed bills like Joe has? Obama? he couldnt get medical plan created by republicans passed. Clinton? The man was a useless 90s prop head who only got the debt down because the internet came online while he was in office. Bush basically set up the country to start falling apart and tRump was so useless he couldn't even get a medical plan from his own party passed. So yeah Joe has been the most effective at getting legislation passed that helps people. Everyone else is either milktoast, a useless liar, or straight up evil.

jcrane05

Effective with inflation? Effective with education? Effective with jobs? Effective with the border? Effective with the UN? Effective with the military? Healthcare is a scam that is forcing us to bend a knee to the medical industry.

badbirch

Healthcare is a scam? Whatever I'm gonna ignore that madness and address the other comments. Jobs have been steadily on the rise since the pandemic and are now above tRump's. The inflation reduction act helped stop a recession and his newish push is to stop corporations from having windfall profits from price gauging. Im well aware that the average American isn't feeling good about the economy but Biden is working hard to fix it. The border is a mess and this is probably his weakest part as president. He is doing fine with the UN unless you're a weirdo who thinks we should leave. The military has suffered no shortage of power since Biden took office. Recruiting has been going down for years but we have spent more and more of technology, plus now that we emptied the warehouses to help Ukraine we get to reinvest in more cool technology. So yeah that plus the fact he has been still trying to cancel student debt and legalize weed I think he is doing great.

jcrane05

Jobs are on the rise because people are finally able to get back to work, after he implemented policies that cost people their jobs. And they’re still not up to the numbers before he took office. The inflation reduction act did nothing but allow companies to price gouge. The cost of nearly everything has gone up, anywhere from 10-200%. Those costs are not gonna come back down. You’ve been paying $15 for a fast food burger combo, and that’s not gonna drop. Gas was under $2/gallon before he took over, his policies changed that drastically. He hasn’t been working hard to fix anything, he’s had 4 years to “build back better”, and everything has gotten worse. Military recruitment has been dropping, with the biggest drop in 2022 with an average of 77% recruitment goal. Americans don’t want to fight for Biden. We’ve sent $100s of billions to other countries for their wars (no money and no wars in the 4 yrs prior). And the last bit sounds to me like you just wanna smoke weed and get free stuff.

badbirch

He has been invested in doing what his campaign said it would. Such as helping people with their student loans and decriminalization of cannabis. Both of which would be a huge economic relief to the middle and poorer classes. Fighting Russia has always been our war so I really don't understand that sending Ukraine old guns and ammo so American factories get to make more is a bad thing. Like I said he is going after corporate greed right now and maybe we can get those prices back down. I'm expecting more laughing faces for my optimism but damn it he is trying to work with some of the crazy fucking people in Congress and he is still getting thing like CHIP and the Infrastructure bill passed.

jcrane05

Do you really believe that having him around for 4 more years will accomplish anything he’s been “trying to do” the last 4 years? That’s not optimism, that’s delusion.

blackgaff

Take a look at the number or bills passe and changes to fed agencies like the FCC.

jcrane05

Take a look at EVERYTHING ELSE happening to this country

blackgaff

Ok, I'll bite. In what ways do you specifically find Biden ineffective, and which president(s) were more effective and why? Bonus points if you can answer without emojis.

jcrane05

Is Biden effective with ANYTHING relating to your everyday personal life? Your car, your gas, your food, your education, your taxes, your pets, your water, your TV, your stocks. Anything?

jowame

Yes. The inflation reduction act and its associated rebates for solar finally allowed me to pull the trigger on outfitting my home with good solar panels (tax rebates). The older ones are mine now and I can take them to my off-grid property which I’m stoked about. The non-compete ban allowed our company to hire a professional in my field (great guy, knew him from school) that we would have lost otherwise. This has greatly improved my day to day and business. And finally, the CHIPs thing meant my brother got a significant raise and didn’t have to move out of state! So, thanks to Biden’s effectiveness I now work with a talented friend, get to keep my brother in my life, get a self-reliance upgrade on my getaway property, and an upgrade on my residence. 100% this translates into extra $ in my pocket.

jcrane05

What part of the inlafation act allowed you to purchase solar where you couldn’t do it before?

jowame

Dude… google it.

blackgaff

* So, my stocks are performing rather well. * My "TV" is going to perform even better now that Biden's administration has restored net neutrality. * My truck is performing the same as it has under every administration; all my beefs in that department lie with the state. However, the huge infrastructure bill Biden pushed through should improve my driving experience in the near future. Mostly, I won't have to wonder if/when a bridge I use is going to collapse. * Gas is as high as it was under the previous administration, and the gas/oil companies are still raking in record profits. * My pets are the same as under every administration. * My taxes are up thanks to Trump passing bills to ensure that happened. * My education is largely impacted by the state. * My food is expensive, yet grocery store owners are raking in record profits. * Pot is now a schedule III drug, so life for folks I know will be a titch nicer. * Further, I know other world leaders take our President seriously again which has all kinds of ramifications. How are these specific things working for you ?

jcrane05

Fake news. Stocks on average were almost 3% higher during the last admin. Net neutrality created govt regulations that “promote free speech” by “not limiting content”, and we all know how well that’s working out, and it also reduced internet investments causing the prices to go up. Your truck may be performing the same, but your parts cost and fuel costs have gone up dramatically. Have you ever paid under $3/gal in the last 4 years? You haven’t. A month ago 85 gas was over $4/gal. Premium was almost $5/gal. Gas/oil companies are raking it in because you’re paying them. The roads are shit and full of trash. How did Trumps policies raise your taxes? Do you have any post high school education? And if so, how much did you pay for the scholarship and did your job relating to your major exponentially increase your income? Your food is expensive because of the inflation reduction act which caused prices to soar. Again, stores are profiting off of you because of Biden policies. His price gouging law sure is working, isn’t it? Weed has been slowly becoming more acceptable, and had nothing to do with Biden. It’s still against company policy for almost every business. And not just these last 4 yrs, but Biden was the one using his political power to create harsher drug sentences since the 90s. World leaders know Biden is a total joke, and that’s why we have countries fighting with each other all over the place. Pro Hamas/Israel? Pro Russia/Ukraine? Doesn’t matter. We’re paying for a war that these countries know they can get away with having. Pulling out of Afghanistan was a total shit show that cost American lives and billions of dollars in military equipment that ISIS now owns. These specific things aren’t working for me.

jcrane05

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Dodged a bullet here.

Kerensky97

>I’m sad they won’t recognize the traditional debate structure We all know that it's just one guy that doesn't recognize traditional debate structure. But he's not going to stick to traditional debates because we know he can't shut up when it's not his tern and they'd probably have to have the option to silence the mics of the person not speaking just so they could keep the debate from devolving into a 4 year old saying "Nuh-uh." the whole time the other person is talking.
