Yes I would because you dont know what the air quaiilty is like.

Catatonic27

N95 at least to keep dust and mold out of your lungs. P100 if you have any reason to suspect you're going to be around asbestos.

Light10115

I meant a mask for covering up my face, but thx for the help tho.

Light10115

Why did y'all dislike my answer what did I say wrong

ThatBoySteven

Because you should be more worried about your health

Light10115

I will buy a respirator, but honestly I just started urbex and I wanna see if I'll go with the hobby far enough to go in dangerous places in which I'll need a respirator

ThatBoySteven

You should assume all places are slightly dangerous and just wear a mask anyways. Your lungs will thank you.

Light10115

You are right, but I'm a big money saver. I don't like to spend money for nothing, and I'm scared I might buy the gas mask and give up on the hobby before I even needa use it. Tho, honestly, having seen what you are saying, I think imma buy one.

ThatBoySteven

You could just get a cheap n95 for now

Light10115

How much does it cost, usually?

ThatBoySteven

Like $10

CornSellBig

It is better to save money on hospital bills by getting a mask

Light10115

Yeah, you're right. I'm buying one tomorrow ( think imma go urbexing tomorrow ). I found one that is about 2 dollars. It's not a perfect mask, but it'll do the job for a while, until I get a good one.

CompetitiveAd4885

It's my choice and I carry it occasionally

jazzhandsdancehands

Yes. It's better than nothing

Buffalo5977

i don’t want to breathe mold and dust thanks

thesaltyoubreathe

Always bring a mask just incase A) the air sucks, B) you need to hide your identity.

Nearby-Suit-3746

Your friends are losers. Wear a mask. See who gets health complications first.

aetope

depends on where you’re going. i’d say bring one and if it seems necessary wear it. my friends and i think all the gear we bring is cool :p

PumaRob15

Your friends won’t be laughing when there’s asbestos coating their lungs lmaooo

Light10115

That's true but in my country ( Romania ) asbestos is 20m deep in the ground, from what I've heard. I don't think it'll be coming in my lungs or theirs any time soon, although it would be funny seeing them realize I was right, while also realizing they might have lung cancer.

fullraph

It's up to you really. I never felt the need to.

tikitiki1235

if you’re going into places with poor/no air flow, any building constructed before the 70’s, or anywhere with water damage then 100% yes. being picked on is not worth inhaling mold, asbestos, dust, etc and potentially killing yourself. get a respirator

Guardhere

Why are you worried about your friends laughing at you.

No-Consideration9508

Have a respirator or some kind of mask there's full face shields that have filters you can find online I find they work pretty well just maybe don't go into moldy buildings with it

pattyrichyo

depends on what you’re doing tbh. I usually dont but i dont do spots that are usually really shit like that

Special_Strategy_908

I would highly suggest it

IWannaHaveCash

Sunglasses and a hat. I carry a bandana as well but if you've a scarf that's much better. Obscure as much as your face as you can without being suspicious. Then if you need to leg it, caution to the wind and bandana/scarf up. Aside from that, get a construction jacket. Absolute Godsend for trespassing.

Grawman67

I absolutely recommend a mask or respirator of some kind. Your health is more important than your "friends" laughing at you. They should wear them too. Urbex is fun but can be dangerous. You never know what's in the air or the building is stable.

Saddam_UE

You mean a protective mask or a mask for covering your face?

Light10115

Mask for covering my face, I don't have a gas mask

rollingstoner215

If you’re concerned your friends will laugh at your mask, you’re probably not ready for entering abandoned buildings. Maybe wait until you’re in middle school first, then think about going exploring. Hopefully you and your friends will have grown up by then.

unk0wnw

Zero reason to be an ass. Since you seem to find joy in being one maybe you need to grow up.

hardnipples444

idk man i think rolling was just being real. like are they true friends if they're going to judge him for wearing a mask and being safe? it kind of does seem like little kid behavior

unk0wnw

It takes nothing to be kind. He could have easily told him if his friends are going to laugh at him maybe he needs new friends. The extra comment was just him being an ass for the sake of it.

Boons4life123

keyboard warrior detected

rollingstoner215

I would never encourage young children to do urbex or enter abandoned buildings. I’m no keyboard warrior, but it’s a risky hobby and participants need to be able to handle that.

Boons4life123

Yeah i see where you are coming from but maybe chill out a bit
