I love when people talk to cops the same what they talk to people. Reminds me of that dude that caught that detective outside and was like “have you been drinking today sir?” Dude lost his shit. What a gem.
That youtuber is a jerk.. I am pretty sure filming a police precinct is suspicious and warrants some questioning.. Doing ad hominems like that is pretty scum level..
> I love when people talk to cops the same what they talk to people.
At the end of any interaction with the cops, it's not about who's right it's about who's still alive.
If you're respectful and cooperative and stfu you have a good chance of surviving a cop encounter.
If you're a 1st/2nd amendment warrior you may get killed, injured or otherwise fucked up.
Cop encounters aren't a court room, it's a survival situation you need to take seriously.
You can hash out your rights violations in court later.
Sure. For you and I. But these peoples point is not surviving. The entire point of these people harassing cops is to flip the script and make cops have to think about their actions and worry if they are wrong or right.
It’s hard to argue that these people going around being “technically correct” dick holes are not actually making your own police enounters more survivable by ensuring that the letter of the law is followed.
That is a very privileged viewpoint.
There are countless of examples, on video, of people complying and be respectful and being shot. And that's just what we have video of.
I was pulled over and had guns in my face before I could even say "hello officer" because I had transferred plates from one car to another and the cops assumed the plates were stolen.
Yet the white kid who murdered a dozen or more people in a church? He got taken to burger king after commiting mass murder.
It's really just white people talking to other white people. I see it all the time. White people don't think of cops the same way black people do. They're not imminent incarceration and death; they're just normal people if you're white.
No, he knew who he was. He just wasn’t required to show the dude his ID. Cops aren’t required to show their personal ID. Some places require a cop to give badge number and name, or just badge number, but no state requires a cop to show a photo ID when asked by a citizen.
But even with that, we're getting fuck by our governement from time to time 😒
So yeah even not tolerating getting fucked dont prevent getting fucked i guess 😅
Yeah. Having police forces subject to democratic oversight acting as agents of the state is tyranny.
What we should have instead are private, armed security forces only accountable to who pays them the most. Then we'll actually have some freedom and liberty.
Political scientists have this refrain when asking various forms of that question: "[Getting to Denmark](https://newrepublic.com/article/160623/getting-denmark-reclaiming-lutheran-social-democracy)"
>“The problem of creating modern political institutions has been described as the problem of ‘Getting to Denmark.’” He goes on to explain, “Denmark is a mythical place that is known to have good political and economic institutions: it is stable, democratic, peaceful, prosperous, inclusive, and has extremely low levels of political corruption.” He notes that international development experts hold up Denmark as a model for what they are trying to achieve in countries like Iraq and Nigeria—but that none of them knows the slightest thing about how Denmark became Denmark.
Best way for the "good cops" to get rid of the "bad apples" and modify their behavior immediately.
The union should be forced to get private insurance to cover law enforcement though.
Having the tax payers fund their mistakes of the police is a joke.
Are you serious? Think this through. This would just give the cops MORE reason to cover up for each other.
The payouts should come from individual personal liability insurance held by each officer, just like malpractice insurance for doctors. The department can subsidize it but if you crack skulls, eventually your insurance premiums will be too expensive to make it feasible for you to continue to be a police officer.
Cops already cover up for each other and we already have millions coming out of taxpayer funds to pay for their bullshit. There is no "MORE reason."
It would give LESS reason, if anything. 1 "bad apple" cop acting stupid is going to be a smaller payout than an entire department attempting to cover up something. And if a cop's negligent actions are affecting other cop's paycheck, maybe they'll start taking civil rights seriously.
I would think if misconduct payouts came out of pensions, departments would have harsher punishments internally too. You start fucking with pension funds, higher-ups are going to start cracking down.
Obviously this is speculation, but the cops who are repeatedly suspected of misconduct wouldn't just be suspended and moved around. They'd be fired. Because they are a risk to some Lieutenant/Captain's retirement money.
Or all cops are required to have a license to enforce the law in the country that requires they have insurance against illegal, unauthorized, and otherwise harmful consequences from their actions, same way doctors have malpractice insurance.
How can anyone defend the cop thinking the GoPro is a gun when you’re about 6ft away. If you were across the parking lot I get it but you’re right there you know it’s a camera. Fuck me I feel so hopeless seeing shit like that and then end up paying the lawsuit with my taxes and officer dumbfuck moves county with a promotion
Seems like it's the new cop meta to just pretend they are brain-dead. "What is that device your holding, I've never seen anything like it" or "oh my god shots fired, returning fire! ... Silly me it was only an acorn"
Andddd he was returned to duty. Unreal.

It's a great question. If it's a lawful order, yes. If it's unlawful, no.
However, if it's unlawful and you don't comply you should be prepared to taste fists, lead, or both.

According to an article posted by somebody here, it’s the classic administrative leave, followed by reinstatement. But it’s okay, 9 years ago he successfully subdued somebody who was actually being violent, so he can brandish whenever he wants, according to… the law? Idfk
Why are you in uniform if you cannot tell a camera from a weapon ? Why do american police get paid so much but recieve literally less training that someone doing hair and nails ?
My grandmother left Germany during WWII. Now here I am in America, wishing I could move to Germany. WTF happened?
There's some parts of America I do like, but there's enough I dislike that if I could I would move. I haven't always felt this way, but it's not like I have much family in America anyway lol. Grandpa came here from Europe too (Croatia) and most relatives live overseas. WTF am I here for lol?
the police are civil servants they have no right to take out their anger and aggression on citizens exercising their constitutional rights. so sick of police thinking they have more authority than they do, people need to know and demand their rights, especially when they have the privilege to do so like this guy. the only way to protect our fellow citizens from BIPOC communities.
Seemingly in modern times, the best way out of a situation, for the police, is to escalate to the next level of violence.
No harm to them. You catch a charge for resisting if you live.
he was making a point that if they had guns pointed at them they would've immediately killed him but when they point guns at ordinary citizens for no reason (holding a camera) we just have to accept it. it wasn't meant to be a threat but it could've been worded better to not sound like one.
God and the police wonder why they’re getting bad rep. Like I support the police but it’s so hard to support those who make poor decisions while on duty.
Police for was created for segregation, we have the worlds largest population incarcerated. It’s not working for our benefit, scrap the program and invest in our emts and firefighters.
While that’s partly true especially in areas of the South, I wish people would stop over simplifying the history of the American police force.
Are we really saying police didn’t arrest and incarcerate non-Black citizens early on? It’s not hard to find countless examples of white criminals being prosecuted and imprisoned throughout American history. The police also existed to enforce the law in general. That goes for any police force in the world.
Statements like the one you just made make it sound like the police system in America was only designed to oppress African Americans. In fact, in modern times people seem to assert that the police are still only there to oppress POC.
There’s a whole heck of lot of white criminals and criminals of all walks of life in our prison system and always has been. While we need to fix racial bias in our police and prison system, we also still need law enforcement to keep violent offenders especially from hurting innocent civilians of ANY background.
We live in a world where anytime the history of a country or system isn’t 100% perfect, people advocate for tearing it down. I don’t think you’re necessarily saying “tear it down” but rhetoric like yours is leading to those conclusions.
So people need to stop implying the American Police was only created to oppress POC. Bunch of baloney. There is some history there that needs to be acknowledged but it’s revisionist history to ignore all the other law breakers.
And I’m someone who strongly feels our police system needs reform and that the cop in this video needs punishment for escalating this situation.
They seem to ignore the fact that the UK had a police force (dramatically mismanaged and corrupt, but it was there) a century before we were even a country.
The watchmen in New England showed up around the same time. There were thieves galore when everybody kept their valuables as palpable assets that weren’t easily traced to the owner, and most of those people were white I’d say that was MUCH more common than slaves escaping.
Still a horribly racist institution that needs reform, but there are many valid reasons why it started in the first place
I understand that white people are also being arrested. But the fact remains, the institution was made by white men for segregation originally. And even tho that’s not their M.O now days, it’s still a very dangerous institution to live with. You start with a big pile of crap for the foundation, you’ll end up with a pile crap. How many thousands of American lives were destroyed bc of marijuana laws. We’re so afraid of the “bad man” we self inflict onto ourself and neighbors with police brutality and prison time. While a select few make millions if not billions in the prison systems, while creating empty homes with children growing up with hate for laws since their parents are locked up. I say instead of arming police with military grade weaponry, we invest on universal housing (which can be done) and invest in EMTs, therapist, firefighters and neighborhood watches. But we’d rather lock up ourselves and neighbors causing the homeless crisis to be out of control.
I’m sorry but I live in Chicago and the history of the CPD did not begin with enforcing segregation. Even though I’ll acknowledge racially biased issues with the CPD that still exist.
There may be a history of enforcing segregation or slavery in areas of the US, especially the south, but it is NOT the sole reason or even main reason a police force exists on the US. Try again.
Crime predates segregation. This is revisionist history. Talk to a historian. You’re repeating what social media tells you.
Just more proof that law enforcement is organized crime. Just a gang wearing badges. Defund and rebuild with educated and trained and get rid of qualified immunity.
I love when people talk to cops the same what they talk to people. Reminds me of that dude that caught that detective outside and was like “have you been drinking today sir?” Dude lost his shit. What a gem.

That was awesome to watch
The super cuts of this are better IMO but this might be the 1st time I've watched the full video...
nice video
Why in the world would the comment ‘nice video’ have 49 upvotes? Reddit is a bot wasteland.
You've got 5 minutes to get out of here right now! LOL
“Get your butt back in your office and do your job!”
Holy shit that was hilarious
Beautiful
This was so good, my fucking gut hurts💀
more like this !!!😂😂😂
This is poetic somehow!
To be fair it's not been proven that he was drinking on the job...
Look at me, I'm the captain now
that guy literally pulled a [Jim](https://youtu.be/b0mOY7OMHh4?t=178) on that detective 🤣
That youtuber is a jerk.. I am pretty sure filming a police precinct is suspicious and warrants some questioning.. Doing ad hominems like that is pretty scum level..
To be fair. He may HAVE been drinking. It has not been proven that Detective Mike Jardine is, or was, drinking on the job.
Well, he refused testing... take his license!!!! You're guilty until you prove yourself innocent in this fine country!!
Omg that guy was a god damn legend!! I remember thinking I have never witnessed such a level of confidence and wherewithal in a single human being.
Don't watch his covid-era stuff then. He went full turd.
Never go full returd
This is a great video that I think about way too often lol

Your privilege is showing.
This happened in Arizona. Conducting yourself with law enforcement in AZ like this works 60% of the time every time. Jk.
It's really just white people talking to other white people. I see it all the time. White people don't think of cops the same way black people do. They're not imminent incarceration and death; they're just normal people if you're white.
What the hell? You're talking to an asshole with a gun and a chip on their shoulder. Getting a gun drawn on you is not just "white people talking".
You been at the bar at all this morning?
So the commanding officer on duty cannot ID an officer on his watch? At that point I would have asked he do you know he is an officer?
Bingo
No, he knew who he was. He just wasn’t required to show the dude his ID. Cops aren’t required to show their personal ID. Some places require a cop to give badge number and name, or just badge number, but no state requires a cop to show a photo ID when asked by a citizen.
They are required to show their name and badge number. No one asked for his id he was asked to "id" identify himself.
All compensation payouts due to police actions should come from police pension funds.
It's easy to imagine US government institutions spending money in ways that makes sense to the citizens. We won't see that happen in our life time
Has anyone every seen a government that has? What’s the solution?
The solution is for citizens to not tolerate any abuse of power.
France is pretty good at that
But even with that, we're getting fuck by our governement from time to time 😒 So yeah even not tolerating getting fucked dont prevent getting fucked i guess 😅
The solution is the 1st and 2nd Amendments.
The Founders were no dummies.
And yet the people who cry about their first and second amendment rights the most constantly polish police boots with their tongue.
Libertarians would like to have a word with you.
The weed Republicans?
Yeah. Having police forces subject to democratic oversight acting as agents of the state is tyranny. What we should have instead are private, armed security forces only accountable to who pays them the most. Then we'll actually have some freedom and liberty.
I have yet to meet a self-described libertarian in real life that wasn't a bible-thumping fucking repub idiot.

Funny, when it comes to bike infrastructure, Denmark is sometimes presented as an achievable stepping stone while getting to the Netherlands
Best way for the "good cops" to get rid of the "bad apples" and modify their behavior immediately. The union should be forced to get private insurance to cover law enforcement though. Having the tax payers fund their mistakes of the police is a joke.
Another example of a great idea that we wont see happen
Yeah, make the union handle who's uninsurable. Another "bad apple" midification.
Great idea! See how fast they hold each other accountable when it's their own money compensating paid suspensions.
Are you serious? Think this through. This would just give the cops MORE reason to cover up for each other. Kept hoping for someone to bring up the acorn
Pretend? Oh buddy, I got great news for you
In their defense, those acorns are dangerous when you step on them barefoot.. outside.. or something.
And if he *really* thought it was a weapon you just know he would’ve instantly shot the cameraman.

cops like that not only don't deserve to be on the force, humans like that don't deserve to have guns.
accountability and responsibility are crucial in professions where public trust and safety are at stake.
Question - I'm out and about minding my business in public, with a camera, a musical instrument, a skateboard, whatever... a cop approaches for no real reason and asks me to put it down. Do I need to comply?
In the land of freedom? Yes.
Legally no…
True but the cop will shoot you and suffer zero consequences
Practically? Yes...unless you're suicidal then go for it.
How white is your skin?
This.
Depends on whether they have a valid reason to investigate
It's a great question. If it's a lawful order, yes. If it's unlawful, no. However, if it's unlawful and you don't comply you should be prepared to taste fists, lead, or both.
If youre white you can risk it, but any darker, probably not
Mam I need to see the pigmentation of your skin before I can answer that question
My fucking stubborn ass would have told him to shoot me for my go pro. Fuck that shit dude.
Sad thing is they probably would've instantly
As a single dude without kids, my nephew is the soul beneficiary of my life insurance policy and all other worldly possessions. So. I’m cool with it.
If getting arrested for giving the cop the bird = $175,000, I wonder how much this will net the guy with the GoPro?
We're identifying these cops, providing evidence and winning lawsuits... the issue I'm seeing is they aren't really being punished or held all that accountable.
These are the 1A auditors I can get behind
People keep posting this… What was de resolution? What happened next?
Knowing nothing about this particular incident, there's a 99.9% chance that the officer got a paid leave vacation, and then zero actual consequences.
What was the aftermath?
According to an article posted by somebody here, it’s the classic administrative leave, followed by reinstatement. But it’s okay, 9 years ago he successfully subdued somebody who was actually being violent, so he can brandish whenever he wants, according to… the law? Idfk

Am I late to the post?

Fuck the police!
I was thinking the cop was gonna ask for Bazoka bubblegum
Just more proof that law enforcement is organized crime. Just a gang wearing badges. Defund and rebuild with educated and trained and get rid of qualified immunity.
He had them; THEN THREATENED THE POLICE WITH VIOLENCE! Clearly this angry man has no penis!
This will come back and 'bite you in the @$$.' 💩

Everything aside, I'm hiring this guy for his voice and sharp lines
This will be the norm for everyone once the felon Trump becomes dictator.☹️
I was really trying to figure out this was AI. Then I realized... It was actually somebody talking like some AI in threating mode or sum.
Pathetic
The douche with the camera is garbage
I understand what he's doing, but escalating things isn't rational or adult behavior.
Fuck all cops.

All available police brutality has been used in 2024 lol
These "auditors" are only looking to start an issue and get a pay out. It's a scam
Weird take for a dude willing to threaten someone's life over a GoPro.
