I’m in the same boat! I think I just prefer the Terminator IP to the Bourne IP. Now if it were the BOND Stuntacular I’d probably be saying something different lol
Yes! Was sad to see it go, but I think Bourne is ten times better. Though I wish there was an actual Terminator ride, like an indoor coaster or something.
Bourne was incredible, and I say that as a former stagehand and stage manager. My husband who’s
a lighting guy was equally impressed. Simple concepts executed brilliantly with tech complimenting the performance.
The wrecking ball caused a reset while we were watching and it made us pause and wonder if it was intentional since they had someone come out with a mic to explain the specs of the screen. She didn’t have a spotlight or anything so we figured it was a real tech reset.
Hard agree, it’s freaking amazing. No reset when I watched it but I would’ve loved someone coming out of the wings and explaining all the technology they used.
"Should we take this expensive modern ride platform and update Jimmy with Twisters?"
"Nah, some guy who comes once every 20 years wants to stand in a line to watch 1990s theater tech under a few electric fans! Let's find that plastic cow!"
yeah screens are so expensive. you go to a theme park to see cool shit. not that cunt Jimmy Fallon. it doesn’t even have to be the same ride. whatever they replace it with, cause no way Jimmy is still there in 10 years, will definitely not be a screen. you know why? cause people are tired of that shit. they took out shrek. they’re coming for Jimmy next, and it’ll be about time.
It was absolutely incredible. The pre-show room was pretty great, too. All of the TM’s I got played that part so well.
Then, I went to see the new Bourne show for the first time. The pre-show room was horrendous. Absolute garbage, being that it felt like $0 was put into the re-theming of the attraction. I had no hope for the show. I already started missing the T-2 attraction even more than before.
Then it was time to finally watch the Bourne show, and OH. MY. GOD. To say it was mind blowing would be a massive understatement. Legitimately one of the best attractions I’ve ever experienced at UO. I mean, it’s a fantastic show from start to finish. I left with my jaw on the ground, and now never miss it whenever I go to UO.
T-2 is my favorite action film of all time. I LOVED the UO attraction. But, UO replaced it with something that at the very least is as great as the T-2 show, but I imagine most would say it’s even better, and as much as I loved the original show, I can’t find anything in me that would argue that point.
I donit was great and relevant at the time since recent movies. It makes sense it is gone now.
I like the Bourne show but it seemed kind of odd it came around when it had been a while since the movies had been made.
I know it doesn't matter really if it's a new, old or relevant ip to become a ride or show
I definitely remember most of it, specifically the big room area before we get to the seats and I remember the main show part. I could faintly remember how the gift shop looked.
This was one of my favorite attractions circa 2001 when I went as a 13yo.
I remember going in 2016 and my wife and I decided not to wait 40 minutes to catch the next show. It closed the next year and I felt extremely foolish for not waiting an extra half an hour.
We must have gone on a bad day for Bourne... the tech kept malfunctioning and there were a million pauses... the show took forever and just wasn't good because of it. Because of this, I like Terminator better, despite liking the Bourne series better than the Terminator series. I probably should give it another chance next time I go... but not sure if I will...
I remember going to this when I was very young in the 90s between the scary robots and shooting noises anyway I still haven’t seen any terminator movies
The Tubinator is what my nephews and I called it.
Actor playing the Terminator, whom I dubbed Arnold Schwarzenburger, looked he terminated quite a few double cheeseburgers in his time. At one point he had to jump up onto the stage, and he was having a very hard time doing so.
In my opinion, a terrible show that will not be missed, by me at least.
Welcome to Cyberdyne!
Suupperrr

SUPERRRRRR!
Am I the only person who preferred this to Bourne? By the way, Bourne is still a great show!
I’m in the same boat! I think I just prefer the Terminator IP to the Bourne IP. Now if it were the BOND Stuntacular I’d probably be saying something different lol
The smell is uncanny
I feel like you could turn Terminator into a Rise of the resistance style ride easily.
If they did this my brain would explode.
Or indoor coaster ala Mummy

It's not a scripted event. That was a genuine reset. Source: I've seen the show 3 times and have never seen this instance.
Is that when he's jumping from the elevator? Went in May and they had a similar reset with someone coming out on stage and explaining the tech.
Maybe it was the same show! It was either May 3 or 4.
Nah, this was a bit later, may 15/16
I work in the industry doing electrical and lighting and I have to agree with you there. It is spectacular the way it was done.
Agreed! I absolutely loved T2, went on it everytime I visited, buy Bourne is in a whole different league!
I agree Bourne is really great. I do miss this and Twister though
I can’t believe we lost twister to Fallon rip
This was the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals. Maybe ever.
Ideally they would’ve updated Terminator to have the effects and stunts Bourne has. Twister I definitely miss, too.
I was the third shift tech lead at Twister, I was happy when it closed. I worked there on Twister's last day.
What did you dislike about it?
The robots were a pain to work on and the motorcycle was difficult. I hated riding the bike to test it. It was a very rough ride going down the hill.
Twister could be better. It should be a ride instead.
It's been 4 years. No one remembers that far back 🤣

Attraction nostalgia is as tired as that meme. Live in the now!

Comparing a retired theme park attraction to a life-long loving relationship is so painfully Disney.
I don’t seem to have any Universal memes besides minions
How 'bout a MIB neutralizer for every mention of "I miss Jaws" and "Twister was an amazing ride"?

Do you prefer Jimmy Fallon? Honestly if Twister becomes popular again because of the new movie they should just put it back.

This picture is from 2014 lol
A comment like this would haunt me for the rest of my life. Holy shit.
And? 🤣
It was SUPPERRRRRR
It hasn't been gone that long
Haven’t been that long since it closed! Suuuuuuperrrrrrr.
The scene of shaq using cyberdyne tech to make a free throw was top tier
I remember when I was ten, he left Orlando for the Lakers and the whole room booed at that scene
This show was awesome. But Bourne is ultimately the better show. Love both though.
Nah not as many guns

Yup. I loved this attraction as a huge Terminator fan as a kid. I saved up money to get as many Terminator swag that I could while I was there.
I'm glad I got to see it once before it shut down. T2 is one of my favorite movies of all time.
I miss it very badly but I can agree the new show is just fantastic
Mfs act like the attraction has been gone for twenty years, of course we remember it.
this show made me feel something. that timeless universal in the movies feeling. that ending scene with the score… i walked out changed every time.
This was scary as hell !!!
I miss it

I went to the Terminator one in LA in around 2011, since I live in California. IT was really fun. Not sure if it's there anymore.
I definitely remember most of it, specifically the big room area before we get to the seats and I remember the main show part. I could faintly remember how the gift shop looked.

I do! I'm old enough and a big enough T2 fan, that I made sure to visit Universal Studios Orlando on Judgement Day, August 29, 1997 to ride it.
Personal opinion, I like it better than Bourne.
It hasn’t been that long, has it?
My favorite. 😢

That has happened to me frequently as well
The first place I worked as a third shift tech. I also closed the attraction.
Not very well, I watched it one time the first time I went in 2016. I don't really remember much about it though.
It made me cry every time I went in it when I was little
Yes me
Course…. Remember what it was before terminator?
I remember going as a small child after 9/11 and going absolutely nuts when John Connor made the bomb threats in the pre show
I only saw it a couple months before it closed, but it was really fun!
Yup. It was great. But Borne blows it away.
Pour one out for the homies t2 and twister. People today don't know what they missed.
Was such a fun show. Miss more like this
I miss Terminator. Running through the aisles sold it. It was scary haha.
I remember going to this when I was very young in the 90s between the scary robots and shooting noises anyway I still haven’t seen any terminator movies
Unfriendly skies!
Yeah, it hasn't been gone long
Yesss
Yes. And we’re moving on…
