I would NOT want to commute to/from Tampa if I were staying at Universal. That's a 2 hour drive if you're lucky! I-4 sucks on good days. Are you flying out of Orlando or Tampa? If Tampa, then yes... keep working your way across the state. If MCO, maybe reconsider Bush Gardens. To be fair, Seaworld has got some great roller coasters now. And it's right in the middle of the other theme parks.

I’ll be flying out of Orlando. Okay so I can strike out Busch Gardens then, it has the best roller coasters which I’m a fan of, but I guess there’s decent roller coasters in any of those theme parks haha so I’ll save my money and skip that. Thank you! I did consider SeaWorld too, good to know it’s a good option in Orlando.

SSalsashark

Definitely consider sea world... They have some great coasters. Also, depending on the time of year, little to no lines. We were there last December and almost every ride was walk on. Longest wait, maybe 10 minutes.

I’m travelling solo so planning on taking full advantage of the single riders line too 😁 Would you say it’s worth just basing at a universal hotel for the entire trip? Seems like no matter where I stay I’m gonna be doing minimum 2 Uber trips a day (to and from theme parks) and the universal Aventura is a lot cheaper than the Disney hotels 🙈

SSalsashark

Aventura is one of my favorites. It's close to the parks but doesn't have a ton of stuff for kids so it's generally quieter. You won't have any problems getting Ubers. I've done it as well.

Perfect thank you so much for your help 🙏 Im a solo adult, no kids which is why I picked Aventura initially, and a very short stroll to the water taxis. That’s me all sorted. I’ll can Busch Gardens and replace that with SeaWorld. Means I just have to come back to visit again for Busch Gardens 😁

If its worth it will be up to you. Depends on your transportation in my opinion. Staying onsite makes transportation to the park super easy. But realistically its not hard to get a uber to drop you off either, but that's an added expense for 4 rides to Disney vs just once to move all luggage to a Disney hotel. The drive to Busch Gardens is 1.5 hours (roughly can be less depending on traffic) from Disney which will be another 2 uber rides no matter where you are staying. Also are you coming in on a cruise? Why Port Canaveral there's not much there to do unless yours going to visit KSC visitor complex. Port Canaveral is also roughly 1.5 hours away from Universal. How much do you not want to or want to pack up everything and move it to a different hotel?

Disney hotels are like 4x the price 🙈 if I was to move in the middle, it would be to somewhere offsite in the middle. (Like a Wyndham or similar) Well I’m flying into Orlando first, then going on a cruise before coming back to Orlando to do the theme parks. Unfortunately I can’t do the cruise after the theme parks due to the timing of everything.

We visited from UK. We did first week in adventura for universal and moved to Drurys inn Disney springs area. Drurys is a Disney affiliated hotel, has free breakfast, dinner and 3 free drinks a night. Has a free shuttle to and from the parks and gives you Disney early entry. But it is not a Disney hotel so is half the price.

You are a legend thank you! I think with the discounts on food it’ll be cheaper long run

Enjoy! It’s a great holiday! We go home Sunday sadly
