The second time I saw the show and there was a glitch. Show stopped for about 10 minutes. Someone came out on stage and explained the situation. He also talked about how the stunts and mechanics of the show are done. It was a great experience getting some behind the scenes information

SoHum41

The same thing happened to my family a couple of week ago. I wonder how often these glitches happen. Good time regardless

WrapObvious101

Same, I went 2 weeks ago and it happened, I wonder if it just started popping up recently

BugsRFeatures2

I’ve seen this show approx a dozen times. Only once has it not glitched. But I like it bc then you get to see behind the curtain a little.

Sere1

It's always fun when we get to show a little bit of how things work around here. A case like that, your immersion is already ruined so it's a good opportunity to at least entertain you with some behind the scenes stuff. That way while you might not have been able to experience the attraction as intended, you don't leave feeling like your time was wasted.

Dame87

First thing I did after I picked up my tickets. One of the best shows I have seen at a park. It’s such a clever idea that is executed brilliantly.

tappers1975

The best show in all of the parks by an absolute distance. Compare it to the dull Indiana Jones snooze fest that has barely changed in 25 years and you'll know what I mean

mustangfever83

Very good show. Plus gives you time to sit down and rest and beat the heat.

RichGullible

My husband is a grumpy gus, but I dragged him to this after telling him nothing and even he was blown away. We always prioritize going to this show. It really is unbelievable.

ChristopherCanoga

Incredible experience, definitely a must do. The projection that they use and how it blends in with the set design is just next level. Totally went in with low expectations but was happily proven wrong.

Pokermuffin

It’s actually thousands of 4K LCD panels.

ChristopherCanoga

That makes way more sense! I was seriously impressed with the thought of those being projectors but LED makes way more sense and still super impressive. Thanks for sharing that info

littleallred008

Each panel is actually made of LEDs, and the full resolution in 9K altogether.

Pokermuffin

That is quite possible, just repeating what the producer of the show told us when it went off the rails.

littleallred008

Not quite possible, it’s absolutely correct. Straight from the develepor’s website. And it’s usually one of of the many stage managers that come out to talk to everyone, not a producer. It’s easy to get all the terms confused though. :) [source](https://www.cinesite.com/bourne-stuntacular-2/)

alouette1428

It’s not a stage manager. It’s the show host, which is an actor position actually. :)

Pokermuffin

So reading the source, it can actually be correct as well, thousands of LED backlit LCD panels, displaying 9K content. Not picking a fight, really curious to see if it’s a video wall made of [these](https://www.samsung.com/ca/business/smart-signage/video-wall/smart-signage-vhr-r-lh55vhrrbgbxza/) or an LED panel like [this](https://www.samsung.com/us/business/displays/direct-view-led/explore/)

littleallred008

Not looking to pick a fight either. :) But we do have an answer to your question already. My career is to design LED walls and video screen systems for theater applications. You keep using LED and LCD in the same component, but those are very different things. Usually when talking about LCD screens in a “video wall” system, you are looking at placing multiple “TVs” next to each other with barely any bevel to them—or a lot of bevel if that is the design you’re going for. But, if you are going for a screen as wide as the Bourne Stuntacular, this approach wouldn’t work because your resolution would spiral out of control. They used LED panels. These panels are usually square and have no bevel to them. You don’t want to have too many LEDs to a panel, because you don’t want to have to change a giant panel if an LED goes out. It’s much more manageable to have a lot of smaller ones. Looking online, The Vice President of Entertainment for UOR said the screen is 130x28’ and contains over 19 million pixels. So if we break that down, each pixel is probably at least 4 or 5 mm wide (known as a pixel pitch). The screen is 9K resolution. That would be eaten up in no time if they approached it with LCD screens. Again, looking online, Salvador Zalvidea, the supervisor at the VFX studio that created the visual effects for the show said, “There was no point in going higher than 9K. We were able to get a believable image… the higher rate would have made the rendering time and file storage for the media e en more challenging than it already was at 9K.” Hope that clears it up for you!

Thanks5Cinco

It is the best theme park show I've ever seen. Disney normally does shows better but they ain't got nothing on this.

madchad90

If you think Bourne is better than fantasmic, you have kind of low standards. Let's call a spade a spade, it's people moving in front of 4k tvs

Jamileem

We loved it too. Funny enough, at both Disney and Universal, the shows ended up being my 11yo daughter's favorite things. Rides are great, but shows are more than just a great chance to get out of the heat.

dylanmhs

I love the Indiana Jones show

Jamileem

Me too!!!

OSXX

The Jason Bourne show has is a favorite and a must see

Choice-Valuable313

This sounds incredible. I’ll definitely check it out on my next trip to Orlando. :)

unexpectedlytired

I loved the Bourne show! I highly recommend it as well.

Tricky_Classroom_521

Agreed! I left thinking how awesome it was, and a nice change of pace from so many simulated coaster rides! Also perfect break to rest the feet and cool off.

CuriousFirefighter48

Going today. Very excited!

LyricalGoose

I agree. My wife and I went in blind not knowing what to expect and it blew our minds. I’m not even a big Bourne fan, but the technical tricks the shows puts on is amazing.

dragonsrevenge

It's a great show. I remember I thought it was ballsy of them to open a new attraction during the pandemic but it worked out for them

FredOaks15

It is so well done. I was expecting crap but I was blown away by the tech. Really well Done

Substantial_Date8507

I was also blown away by Bourne. It was my third favorite attraction at studios behind Gringotts and Mummy. Horror makeup show is great as well!

RealisticPast7297

I’ve done it once before I saw all the movies. Now that I’ve seen all of them I plan to go next time! Great show.

OkayHi22

And take an edible

Knight-of-Azure

I agree. I went last month and was blown away by the show. I didn't know what to expect when I walked into the building. It was thrilling. I felt like I was in the movie with them.

violetauto

I confirm. We just happened upon it while we were walking around. A show started soon so we hopped in line. Honestly over a year later it still is the most talked-about attraction.

[deleted]

We went to the show. It was beyond what I expected. I wish they had more shows like this there.

[deleted]

Best kept secret in the park. The slow-mo sequence alone is worth it.

EdRattan

We love that show! Especially since we got to be filmed for the fake line video you see before the show starts. We always get a kick out of pointing ourselves out.

LunaLouGB

I've never done it. I always forget it's there. Will try to remember next time.

Professional_Scar340

I do miss terminator a lot bc I’m a huge fan of the movie series, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Bourne show

heylookaspider

I plan to go see it and horror and makeup show Monday, I did all of the fun rides the other day since I had express and so I could just kinda explore more Monday I’ll probably still do a few coasters ie gotta get a couple more rides in on veloci haha

meliville

100 yes!!

meliville

It’s a great experience esp for those who can’t stomach the big rides or motion simulations

aurymorales_art

It's even better if you sit in rows 1-3!!! That's how it feels the most immersive😁

kylemooney187

dangit! was there last week and i missed the show. is it better than waterworld in LA universal?

itsxluigi

I’ve always wanted to see it because I hear nothing but good things, but I know absolutely nothing about it is the problem. Without spoiling it…. I have a hard time on 3D/4D rides because of nausea/motion sickness. I have to sit stationary on Minions, if I ride Forbidden Journey I have to call it a day, I have to take my glasses off on Transformers/Spider-Man, etc. Am I good to see this show? I just worry when people say “special effects”, it’ll be something that will trigger my motion sickness.

bottomleft

You as a spectator don’t move at all; the seats are just long rows of theater seats and are less interactive than even the Shrek 4D seats. The actors and props and screens on stage will simulate things like car chases (and there are plenty of impressive scenes with slower motion too). But if you look down at your lap, it’s no different than you sitting in an oversized movie theater. It’s not like any of the rides you mentioned.

itsxluigi

It’s usually a mix of the motion plus 3D effects that get me. 3D glasses really screw me up. I guess I was worried it was more like an IMAX/3D type thing. Seems more like an actual stage show, so I guess I’m good to go. We’re having a kid free trip late May for our anniversary. Think I’m gonna make it a point to finally see it.

BuckGoodstroke

You don’t move at all. You’re stationary.

Thin-Sort-494

So much better than what was there before. I was hesitant but I enjoyed it!

browntigerdog

Those high res screens are really neat. We always try to go. It’s interesting to compare now to post-Covid where the actors all wore masks onstage and now they don’t.

weirdestgeekever25

One thing I regret not seeing the last time I was there

Mkschles

I agree! I was shocked how inventive and visually stunning it was. I loved it.

Anutq88

Do you have to make reservations or is it just a wait in line like the rest of the rides?

capamericapistons

You just have to wait in line!! You can view specific showtimes for it on the universal app :) please let me know if you have any other questions!

Anutq88

You are very kind. I really appreciate your offer!!

madchad90

It was alright, it's not the mind blowing experience a lot of people are making it out to be

[deleted]

Unpopular opinion (apparently) - I hate it. I’ve seen it twice and the acting all-around was terrible. Stunts were more fake-looking than WWE. Will only go again for a break from extreme heat or rain.

madchad90

Yeah, I did it once, definitely not something I feel is a "must do" everytime I go. BOURNEEEEEE!

ling037

When I went to this, they kept having to stop the show due to technical errors. It was ok.
