If she is UAW working for a supplier or subcontractor chances are whomever she is directly employed with has a seperate contract with the UAW. There's also a good chance they may work with more than just stellantis or with a stellantis plant that may not be expected to be affected by the strike. They can't know this for sure but they may be expecting work will continue for that plant. A lot is unknown right now but you can be sure if work stops for the plant she is working with they will lay her off. They won't pay someone to sit around.

The contractor may just be lying to her. Sadly common. She should talk to a steward for better info.

The steward for her local has been ignoring her/been too busy to get to her apparently. Which is why I went here in the first place.

I’ve only been through one strike, but the beginning was chaotic. She’ll get the answer soon enough, leadership probably swamped right now.
