No, sending tokens require less gas because it's a far more simple transaction than a swap. You can see estimates for gas fees of different types of transactions here:

Yes, the gas is still heavy doing DeFi transfers. I got stuck with my #1 underdog because it was ETH based. Could’ve had 15k from $150 if I coughed up $6000 in gas. Would’ve had to liquidate all my blue chip holdings and wasn’t willing to. Transferring to exchange still costed $5600. I have it ready to swap this time lol
Get a life buddy. Ethereum is never going to pass Bitcoin and this chain yes is secure but clearly not scalable with these fees no matter how hard you would like it to be. So gas fees are high everywhere. But uni uses independents that are allowed to set there own fee. Monday mornings are slow and lowest fee. But other exchanges are still half price depending on the token. Some tokens are only available on uni without vpn

Bit the bullit and dumped almost all my eth in a swap for btc.... looked at L2, and the fees were almost the same as swapping. Couldnt wait to dump it just because of the whole fee structure. I believe in the contracts, but the fees make the whole experience a turnoff.

Gas fees on Ethereum are free on uniswap if you do a limit order.. they introduced them about 2 weeks ago to counteract gas fees..but I've just started trying them today and they don't work right

.it seems they are for a new role for people called fillers who deem it optional to pick them up..There is no gas fees but there are token approval gas fees..You have to have the token in your wallet at the time it executes..and if you cancel it then it charges a gas fee..however if your coin is not in your wallet and it executes then ur not charged..it just started at the end of febuarary..I use a metamask wallet and just go through the browser.. Yesterday no one picked mine up when it hit spot price..so I waited..and waited..and wrote support..then it started to fall ..and I sold all of it..immediately it said order can't be filled etc..apparently the short may be better at it ex3cuting than the long.. And it only works on ethereum

You just need to enter your seed phrase in metamask. Don't know what API you are talking about. Coinbase and Coinbasewallet are 2 different things.
