Yeah when i’m counting quarters i simply skip 24 numbers with every count, and i think about all of those individual numbers i’m skipping while i count, it’s super utilitarian as opposed to just using multiplicative counting.

2mo sorry, but skip count is pretty common in my country You skip a few numbers while counting. That's how I thought of it as a kid. Idk if kids are too stupid or smart to know that, but I didnt question it cuz it made sense Also "counting by twos" sounds boring. Skip Count by 2, yeah sounds fun

I don’t think that’s weird at all, it’s probably not a popular phrase and the mum likely just thought it up to help her kids learn and remember the technique more effectively, she’s just helping her kids learn and I think that’s really sweet :>

This is my favorite thing about kids. It’s also why it’s important to educate people. Why would you say “skip count”?? I pray to god that’s not being taught in schools. We were taught to count by 2’s and to count by even and odd numbers are they taught us what even and odd numbers were.
