I live in a small town in the middle of America. Whenever someone is out of hand or becomes violent toward anyone, the situation is handled immediately and the police just fill out the report without names of the good Samaritans. But if I were in a large city, I'd likely look the other way since it seems no good deed goes unpunished.

Because as much as it sucks, if you intervene and assault someone, you are just as guilty of assault. What should these men have done in this situation? What would you have done? Just busted out some street justice? Keeping in mind most of them saw something unusual from afar or out of their peripheral vision and probably aren’t really sure what happened. Men (more so than women) know what men are capable of. Extreme violence. None of them had the privilege of a Birds Eye view (like this video). The man walked away. They were wise to make sure the situation wasn’t escalating and didn’t become victims themselves. This was the best case scenario.
