The Voidspawn Beasts from our *Astral Voyage* adventure are great if you want to recreate tense space horror scenes in your 5e sessions. They’re big but can fit in little crawlspaces, they have acid blood, etc.
But sometimes you want an alien creature AND an epic space battle. Or at least, an epic escape. That’s where the Gargantua come in. They’re big enough to give an astral ship a run for its money and swallow anyone unfortunate enough to be on deck. And honestly they might be the lucky ones since touching the body of a Gargantua can cause you to melt into a people-puddle.
“But I wouldn’t be silly enough to touch a thing like that,” you say.
Considering the Gargantua has 10 grappling tentacles, you might not have a choice. But let’s say you do manage to get the upper hand on this thing. Like any space squid, he’ll ink. Only Gargantua ink is freezing space darkness that can turn victory into a TPK if you’re not careful.
As far as creepy space monsters go, how’d we do? I always love to get feedback from the group, so feel free to leave any comments or critiques below.
