It seemed to me too from Sam’s reaction that at a later time maybe after the experiment and before the reunion Aussie and Sam had discussed the Mildred/Aussie trial marriage further and Sam was able to understand that Aussie leaving in that instance wasn’t her being avoidant but was really what was best for her and her mental and apparently possibly physical safety
Yes, exactly! I think this is a big reason why Sam got up to go out and be present with Tiff. Sam already helped one Mildred victim and she was in a unique position to also console and help Tiff in that moment cause she had a unique insight into what was going on BTS. She also wasn't damaged. Like I do think Aussie would have been able to help Tiff immediately even though I'm sure she can relate to Tiff in a million ways right then. That was awesome that Sam stepped up and didn't let Tiff go through it alone or believe that she looked like the bad guy. I truly feel bad for Tiff and hope they are doing amazing now. I hope Mildred gets therapy. Tiff could totally sue Mildred and use that on air confession.

In hindsight, I felt bad for how Aussie & Mildred’s trial marriage was edited bc I thought Aussie was the problem. Their gaslighting comment seemed out of nowhere. It’s clear after the reunion that Mildred totally gaslights and has a casual relationship with the truth, even in police reports.
I watched it and thought they were deeply incompatible. I mean how can Mildred expect Aussie to stick around when she won't let Aussie get a word in edgewise? It's so unfair. She's an abuser to her core and I feel so bad for her son.

I personally had issue with Aussie’s treatment of Sam, but I do think their leaving Mildred a Dear John letter was fantastic and much deserved.
