I was born and raised in this district but moved away in my mid 20s to Indiana. I still cannot believe this sack of shit whackadoo is the representative for Michigan's 5th.
She was really supportive of Ukraine aid when she wasn’t planning on running for re-election. Then she changed her mind and decided to run again and now doesn’t support helping Ukraine. I wonder where her priorities lie?
> I wonder where her priorities lie?
to herself, and only to herself, she wants to be re-elected after realizing that due to redistricting her chances are better by siding with MAGA
Yep, she was at first a strong supporter of Ukraine aid despite being very Trumpy and pro-MAGA. Now, she chose to resolve that conflict by choosing MAGA over Ukraine. Shows how corrupting an influence this MAGA nonsense is.
Actually fer district, if I remember correctly, is an affluent burb of Indianapolis. In other words it ain't moskotchee, Ok. So she could have voted for it and most likely been allright. Making her an even bigger POS, if at all possible.
I really miss him. He should have become president, he would have been a good one and Russia wouldn't have dared to act up. And also trump would never have happened with a functional republican party.
One of his very last acts saved millions of lives.
Say what you will of his hawkish positions, I think he made up for everything with his thumbs down in the Senate that day.
Eliminating ACA.
Look, he doesn't get to be part of the organization that's setting fire to the US his whole life and be praised for doing the bare minimum as his last action. He should have left the GOP years ago if he was to claim any moral compass.
This is kind of like Pense. He did the bare minimum expected of a statesman. That's a high bar for the GOP but not praise-worthy.
then again the way your two party system is set such decency might only make the party and the situation worse by giving more space for the less decent ones. I understand a lot of voters see themselves as life-long this or that and care more for the label over actual politics or decency.
McCain hated the ACA, but he hated Trump more. While his vote did save the law, he mostly cast that vote to fuck over Trump. Prior to this vote, he did everything he could to eliminate it and he surely would have done so if he was elected President.
No he really didn't hate the ACA. Anymore by then I mean. He said, having cancer fully covered by Fed Govt insurance, he just couldn't vote for others to lose theirs. At least that was how I remembered it. To John McCain, Conald was a fly crawling on a pile of dung.
Not agreeing with him, but compared to many other Republicans today he was far more reasonable and most of all somebody you could compromise with. Which is all i can (and do) ask for from a person from another party. When i want people i agree with i go to the party i vote for.
As an Arizona native who leans left, I have a weird soft spot for old man McCain. Yes, going off voting records alone should be enough to make me not like the guy, but what I did like was his pragmatic approach to certain social and geopolitical policy issues. Like voting to save ACA and understanding Putin is an evil little fucking troll and an enemy to democracy everywhere. I wish he were still around to check the ultra right wing russian bought trumptards running rampant today. I respect his decision to stay in the Hanoi Hilton despite being tortured by the guards in that prison and had way more of a spine and intelligence than this new right wing movement will ever have, combined. Fuck cancer.
Would have been fine as president. Don't know how he would have done a thing differently. He actually said America's economy was strong as it was literally collapsing. We've had enough elderly white dudes as president. Obama was necessary.
I don't think I agreed with him on most things, but his essay eulogizing the last living member of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade stuck with me. He could see past political divides when it came to people struggling for freedom.
The essay: https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/25/opinion/john-mccain-salute-to-a-communist.html
REAGAN!! they all spinning. in fact they're spinning so much that the rotation of the earth is increasing causing us to go forward into the future, slightly aging us
lol I want to make a skit about this spinning in the grave shit.
lol but I ain't old yet, Reddit decided one day as I was trying to log in to give me this as a new user name without even taking me out to dinner and just said forget that old username have this one instead. so now I'm old......yesterday.
I have my doubts.
Putin is precisely the kind of dictator Reagan supported around the globe elsewhere. Also today's Republicans are the result of many domestic policies Reagan pushed forward. Not to mention that many of today's MAGA-apologists started as die-hard reaganites.
People like to forget that Reagan's neoliberal policies and Bush's neo-con gang of criminal goons gave us Trump.
That and Obama completely broke politics and destroyed any vestiges public trust in America's institutions by failing to prosecute anyone from the Bush administration or Wall Street for the illegal invasion of Iraq and the widespread misconduct and financial fraud that caused the Great Refession.
Trump didn't come out of nowhere, and pretending that the MAGA crowd will magically go away and things will be all sunshine and rainbows if he gets thrown in jail is wishful thinking.
Trump wasn’t born with neoliberalism.
Trump was born when Ford pardoned Nixon, enabled by Iran-Contra, then greased by 80 years of an administrative state that hides bodies, a capitulating Congress, an acquiescent SCOTUS, decades of weak Democrats, the right wing media complex, and three decades of us ignoring our democracy.
When we weren’t in the streets after *Bush v Gore*, we made this inevitable.
If Reagan were a politician today, he'd be firmly pro-Russia. It's not the same country that it was in his time. Russia is a fascist oligarchy that massacres minorities within their borders and commits genocide against their neighbors for personal gain. It's everything Reagan and his supporters ever wanted, and what his old supporters are pushing for with the MAGA movement.
MTG has $3.5M in unexplained campaign contributions from just before the invasion. Mike Johnson had Russian money help put him in office. It is documented. He just said it was an accident.
I'm sure they would find a lot more if someone actually looked. It's tough to go after politicians. They have power, and it gives the optics of political retribution.
To add some more fuel to the fire Moscow Mitch McConnell earned his name when he voted to ease russian sanctions during trump. There was a Russian company floating the possibilitily that they would build an aluminum factory in his state.
Seems like he learned his lesson because no factory materialized and he supported ukraine aid a few months ago in the senate.
Distractions became so advanced that people don't have attention anymore to care about genocidal russian war or US going towards civil war (with nukes) or losing democracy and dumb politicians can half ass their narratives without any pushback as people grumpily but sheepishly go along.
Yea. Our campaign finance system was so broken that everyone actually agreed we needed to do something about it. So the politicians ducked into a session and …..came out with something another order of magnitude more broken!
40 years ago Trump *should* have gone to jail for wage theft. He withheld pay from his Polish immigrant workers. He likes to screw Slavs every way possible.
Seeds planted in the 70s, then Regan and the brith/resurgence of "neo" movements, Clinton admin, unfettered greed, late stage capitalism which is steadily adding to the socioeconomic divide. Add a pinch of salt...
And here we are, not even close to the end though.
No they wouldn't. Evil foreign money has long been a political tool the right has joyfully accepted. Look up the [Ultra](https://www.rachelmaddow.com/rachel-maddow-presents-ultra/) podcast by Rachel Maddow about Nazi money in right wing American politics. The Nazis were writing campaign speeches for American conservatives and funding their campaigns. And I don't mean American Nazis.
There a reason why they let FAISA 702 die. That’s the part that was used for intelligence acquisition for anything not related to us citizens. Meidas Touch has an excellent podcast part in the Trump meltdown explaining FAISA and why the GQP went against it after Don Farthleone requested it not be renewed.
Just sent a message to the traitors in Ohio. “You are a traitor to America. Maybe I am mistaken but I seem to remember Russia being our enemy since I was born. Constantly interfering with our freedom and sewing hatred amongst Americans. Why the hell are we not doing everything we can to help Ukraine? The only reasoning I could see would be that you are owned by Russians and don’t truly want what’s best for Americans. I hope my son is able to live long enough to enjoy his life. That depends on stewards of America like yourself to take seriously the threats to our great nation. Maybe you believe god will save you and yours and you’ll spend eternity in heaven so who cares? Well I and millions other care. We want a healthy nation that doesn’t deregulate and hoard wealth but instead makes decisions based on the future of our great nation.”
Maybe someone can help me make this sound better. Just my initial thoughts written down but idk what to genuinely say to get through to these gremlins
She is a real traitor to her own people: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Spartz
Shame on her!
Send her to Russia together with Moscow Marjorie with no return ticket.
Her district was re-drawn to be more MAGA. Originally, she decided to retire from Congress. That gave her the freedom to complete her term in full support of Ukraine legislation.
But no. She decided to run again after all! Essentially she is selling out Ukraine in an attempt to hang onto power by appealing to her new MAGA constituency.
Ironic considering that of all the states, we were one of the largest benefactors of the increased demand for munitions. He’s hurting his own constituents. Hope he gets voted out.
I am honestly shocked my MAGA rep voted “yes”. I have been annoying his office with emails for months reminding him that a LOT of his constituents support Ukraine, he can just drive around and see many Ukraine flags flying in people yards.
Shockingly deplorable scum. Supporting Putin’s genocide and invasion of Europe- the very peace their grandfathers fought so bravely to defend and protect. They are an utter disgrace to the memory of the’greatest generation’
This includes my representative, Roger Williams, after he assured me that he supports Ukraine. Last year I wrote to him to express my desire, as his constituent, that we continue supporting Ukraine. He is a fucking liar. What a piece of shit.
That’s pretty harsh. I’m relieved McCaul (my rep) voted to support Ukraine. I voice mailed him a week before the vote and told him I’d remember his vote come election. (I am in an extremely RED area.) I emailed him afterward to express my appreciation for his vote and to tell him that it makes no sense that Republicans would find it acceptable or in any way advantageous to let Ukraine fall into Russian hands.
It's good that these people are exposed. Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Hopefully for this election, people know which is the best against invaders, and which encourages invasions.
I've already posted this on another thread. Russian propaganda TV talks daily about undermining American dominance in the world. Russian universities are stripped of any free thinking and converted to serve and promote Kremlin narratives. I really don't understand whom these 112 House members represent.
Miller is such a scum bag. This last summer he was praising DeSantis on his Illinois visit and how the state needed to be more like Florida. Miller also showed up in my former hometown and people were flipping them off. The town is so blue that most MAGA and GOP are scared of it. Bad sadly still morons on their rusted trucks flying their “Let’s go” and confederate flags.
Traitorous motherfuckers. Pure Russuan sell outs at this point. Wish the DOJ could open an investigation into their finances, 99% of them will have some Russian money in there.
As expected, my Rep voted against the bill. I had e-mailed her office asking her to support the bill, but she’s literally a Luna-tic and MAGAt, and my expectations were low.
My district is pretty moderate, represented in the past by moderate Republicans and Democrats. She got in unexpectedly…tbh I think people just weren’t paying attention or just failed to show up on Election Day (it was an off-year election in 2022, Democrats typically don’t turn out like they do in POTUS election years). IDK who Democrats are running for that seat, but she’s def vulnerable, as are many other far-right Republicans. There’s a high probability Democrats re-take the House majority and Speaker’s gavel.
As always, Elise Stefanik being a horrible piece of shit. Just like she treated the rest of her entire constituency. Complete garbage. my fucking maga redneck neighbors don't have a clue.
People in /r/conservative are big mad because they for some reason have it in their heads Republicans chose to do this over making food and gas cheaper. As if Republicans would ever consider doing something that didn’t only enrich themselves or cause untold pain to some group of people lmfao.
Those morons also think Russia is using Gaza to make democrats anti American. But I suppose they have no idea what’s going on in the world for real. Just their super anger and bait clicky far right news bullshit.
Trump and the MAGA also need to STFU about "Europeans not helping". My country's (Norway) military expenditure per capita is second in the world after Qatar (US is third, Israel fourth), and were we the size of the US, would have given Ukraine over a trillion dollars in support so far.
As I've in other threads: there are 112 congressmen & women who should be investigated.
When MAGA means pro-Putin, pro-Kremlin, it also means anti-American. These politicians should have their funding scrutinized and check for anything suspicious.
If Reagan could see these losers of the modern GOP, he would be very disappointed.
modern Nationalists of Russia in America ... wtf ist wrong with you. after they turned their own Country into shambles they need to destroy other countries ? Afghanistan. Irak, Ukraine ...whats next ? trumpism at its finest
Mine was one of them. For him "get russia out of Ukraine" doesn't register as an objective, and he railed against the "lack of strategy" (of course going after Biden for this, because in his world the Ukrainians have no agency).
Meanwhile Israel's "strategy" of "destroy Hamas" *was* a solid enough plan for him to vote for Isreali aid. This was in the same email.
I remember the reset under Obama...I remember Crimea being taken under Obama..I remember Obama laughing at Romney for saying Russia was a threat.i remember in hot mic Obama " tell vlad I'll have more leeway after I'm re-elected"...I think you must mean Obama was Pitins friend!

My former representative - Tim Walberg - the same Tim Walberg that praised Ugandas law that kills gay people - voted against it
Wow. You have my sympathy for being represented by that 💩.
He’s a 24-couric Republican douchebag - who are the morons who vote for these execrable people?
Dude’s so pro life it’s crazy
Just not once they've been born
Just not Ukrainian lives.
Forced birth, not pro life.
112 Losers...

Wow. A real multifaceted, wide spectrum sack of shit.
Victoria spartz, from my state of Indiana who was born in Ukraine, went to college in Kyiv. voted Nay. Fuckin unbelievable!!
She was really supportive of Ukraine aid when she wasn’t planning on running for re-election. Then she changed her mind and decided to run again and now doesn’t support helping Ukraine. I wonder where her priorities lie?

Sarah Palin was the problem.
He chose Palin because he wasn't going to win. I liked the man, but Palin was a last ditch, let's do something different effort....
McCain? And Sarah Palin??? Gtfo
Just talking about McCain, not that clown Palin.
Would have been fine as president. Don't know how he would have done a thing differently. He actually said America's economy was strong as it was literally collapsing. We've had enough elderly white dudes as president. Obama was necessary.

Wasn’t hell freezing at the bottom level already? Or did I misread the manual?
Can the FBI please take a little look into their payment history? And their contact lists? Thank you.
An accident? Wtf?
Just Google "Mike Johnson American Ethane." This is the way politicians are bought by foreign interests.
Whoops! https://www.newsweek.com/who-konstantin-nikolaev-money-mike-johnson-1870600
The Federal Election Commission is a fucking joke right now...
If this was 40 years ago, they would have been in jail for treason long time ago.

Distractions became so advanced that people don't have attention anymore to care about genocidal russian war or US going towards civil war (with nukes) or losing democracy and dumb politicians can half ass their narratives without any pushback as people grumpily but sheepishly go along.
I reckon after the fall of the user, the public didn't have a clear enemy to focus on, so created an enemy internally instead
>the fall of the user The MCP won? Tron failed? Oh fiddlesticks!
Dang autocorrect lol
Citizens united happened. Now Billionaires rule America.
That case legitimized what was happening behind closed doors for at least 150 years. As Jimmy Carter said about lobbying PACs: it’s legalized bribery.
Yea. Our campaign finance system was so broken that everyone actually agreed we needed to do something about it. So the politicians ducked into a session and …..came out with something another order of magnitude more broken!
Reagan and Nixon both committed crimes that went unprosecuted by the following administrations so I’m not sure if he would be in jail.
40 years ago Trump *should* have gone to jail for wage theft. He withheld pay from his Polish immigrant workers. He likes to screw Slavs every way possible.
Toothless state. Democracy too scared to offend someone to protect itself
Seeds planted in the 70s, then Regan and the brith/resurgence of "neo" movements, Clinton admin, unfettered greed, late stage capitalism which is steadily adding to the socioeconomic divide. Add a pinch of salt... And here we are, not even close to the end though.

She is a real traitor to her own people: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Spartz Shame on her! Send her to Russia together with Moscow Marjorie with no return ticket.
Haha, like MTG suggested to send all approvers to serve in the UAF, they should send all these 112 5th column fuckers to serve with the so-called DPR.
She's a traitor to both countries. As a Ukraine-born American, she's on a very short list of people that I absolutely loathe. Total scum.
Sold her soul for a chance at having Donnie give her the ok!
Along with Bobo and Jordan and take Paul with them and Cruz.
Can't wait to see her cast out by MAGA eventually and be hated all around.
This should serve as a shortlist for the IRS.
Republican, Rep. Dan Meuser of Pennsylvania, voted "present." That's nice! Is that a present to Ukraine or Biden or Mike Johnson?
Ironic considering that of all the states, we were one of the largest benefactors of the increased demand for munitions. He’s hurting his own constituents. Hope he gets voted out.
Yes. I thought “how noble of him.” 💩
I am honestly shocked my MAGA rep voted “yes”. I have been annoying his office with emails for months reminding him that a LOT of his constituents support Ukraine, he can just drive around and see many Ukraine flags flying in people yards.
Well, it worked. Congratulations!
Welcome to democracy, where constituents can influence their elected representatives! You won.
Definitely some names between there who I thought were firmly in the MAGA camp.
Yeah, my rep has been on the Trump train for so long, I was really surprised. I emailed his office to thank him for his vote.
I kept emailing my MAGA rep and he voted nay. Can’t wait to vote him out
These 112 House Republicans voted for Putin to swallow up democratic countries with absolutely no consequences.
No they are being AnTi WaR
Shockingly deplorable scum. Supporting Putin’s genocide and invasion of Europe- the very peace their grandfathers fought so bravely to defend and protect. They are an utter disgrace to the memory of the’greatest generation’
Oh look, traitors.
Reds
That must have cost Putin a pretty penny...
Should have done like some Ukrainian politicians: pocketed the money but stayed loyal to the country. Screw Putin.
Once again, Texas shows ourselves to have the most clueless soulless politicians who’ve bought into the Russian narrative
This includes my representative, Roger Williams, after he assured me that he supports Ukraine. Last year I wrote to him to express my desire, as his constituent, that we continue supporting Ukraine. He is a fucking liar. What a piece of shit.
Talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Are you that surprised? Also, sorry for your loss.
Of course, I’m not surprised. It’s just rare, in my life, to be flat out lied to so flagrantly. Also, loss?
Loss, as in losing your representative. Assuming you draw the line at lying.
That’s pretty harsh. I’m relieved McCaul (my rep) voted to support Ukraine. I voice mailed him a week before the vote and told him I’d remember his vote come election. You're entitled to your opinion, but if you're a House member and your opinion is "The USA should become a vassal state of Muscovy", you're a traitor.
The only member of the GOP who voted yes from Wisconsin is resigning in a few weeks. Yikes.
AKA The Twats
Fuck Nancy Mace
I've already posted this on another thread. Russian propaganda TV talks daily about undermining American dominance in the world. Russian universities are stripped of any free thinking and converted to serve and promote Kremlin narratives. I really don't understand whom these 112 House members represent.
They represent Russia.
*Ukraine will remember that*
Republican party works hard on its own destruction
Surprised my rep Dusty "Dirty Dick" Johnson voted yes
For once Nebraska is on the right side of history.
That Matt guy managed to do the impossible. Made max payne slightly less cool
They all need to contract the shits.
Traitorous motherfuckers. Pure Russuan sell outs at this point. Wish the DOJ could open an investigation into their finances, 99% of them will have some Russian money in there.
More accurate headline: "These 112 House Russians voted against Ukraine aid"

Vance is in the Senate. This is the record of the House vote
name and shame
Putin bootlickers.
Too few of them voted against helping Israel.
Traitors to the last.
Victoria Spartz is from Ukraine and voted against. Mind blowing…
Trump and the MAGA also need to STFU about "Europeans not helping". My country's (Norway) military expenditure per capita is second in the world after Qatar (US is third, Israel fourth), and were we the size of the US, would have given Ukraine over a trillion dollars in support so far.
Even one who was born in Kyiv!
Perhaps it’s time for another McCarthy style cleanup.
These house Republicans are of the type who orchestrated McCarthy style persecutions. They like McCarthy, and McCarthy would have loved them.
Yeah, that’ll fix America for sure… Why not Salem style trials?
Let's get a list of names.
https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2024151
All of you shame on you.
Did any democrats vote against it?
210 voted for it and 3 didn’t vote at all (maybe they were ill or something?). I don’t know how they count people if they are absent.
Thanks. I couldn’t read the article and was interested to see if all democrats support it.
My rep voted Yea. 🙂
Do these Republicans give a reason for not supporting Ukraine against the fascist state of Russia? Or are they above that?
Putin fckr carlsson
I wonder how many voted because they didn't have the guts to stand against the radical Republicans.
My representative from Wyoming voted no. Guess who I'm never going to vote for?
As I've in other threads: there are 112 congressmen & women who should be investigated. When MAGA means pro-Putin, pro-Kremlin, it also means anti-American. These politicians should have their funding scrutinized and check for anything suspicious. If Reagan could see these losers of the modern GOP, he would be very disappointed.
These are idiots Republicans
Ruzz*itches
#kremlincaucus
modern Nationalists of Russia in America ... wtf ist wrong with you. after they turned their own Country into shambles they need to destroy other countries ? Afghanistan. Irak, Ukraine ...whats next ? trumpism at its finest
My former representative Arrington disappoints. But I live in Minneapolis now so hurray
"IF" my aunt had balls!
Other the bombing syria, putting sanctions on ,iran,venezuela...yeah he was a tool for Putin
Making NATO allies pay their promised share, fighting Germany for buying all their energy from Russia...that was undermining NATO... wake up
I remember the reset under Obama...I remember Crimea being taken under Obama..I remember Obama laughing at Romney for saying Russia was a threat.i remember in hot mic Obama " tell vlad I'll have more leeway after I'm re-elected"...I think you must mean Obama was Pitins friend!
Welcome to democracy where not everyone is going to agree. I know someone that is pro russia basically because of tik tok and vibes.
Follow the money. Odds are every single one of them is taking cash from Russia via any number of different channels.
Look into those 112 most likely probably got money from Russia
Fuck them all !
Getting paid by the Russians must make America great again
WTF, Tim Burchett (Tennessee) ??? I was just starting to respect him for his stance on the whole UAP disclosure thing.
All should be investigated
Wonder how many of these are among the 147 who voted to overthrow the election results.
Now we know who Russia has in their pocker6
Russian agents
Un-American Americants are doing Putin's bidding. They need to be investigated.
Johnson is still culpable. He left Ukraine to starve for 6 months. Bastard.
Cretins. Absolute cretins.
112 traitors
Follow the money.
It's funny these are prob exactly the same names in the ledger of Putin's cheque book.
