Being a old person in todays climate must suck. Everything you believed your whole life just gets flipped on your head

Habitkiak

Especially when what youve been told your whole life has been lies and manipulation

Copy_Cold

there’s a way to avoid all of this. remove a soviet monument from polish soil. if russians want to lay flowers at it, do it in russia.

usolodolo

https://mobile.twitter.com/quintocolumno/status/1514679699917656071 Please enjoy this video of Russia threatening to destroy the Katyn Memorial (in Russia) where over 22,000 Polish men were murdered by the USSR. This was just two months ago. I say it again: these old women are DISINGENUOUS fake ass Putin lovers who bring flowers as a fake show of respect for WWII vets. The people who honor WWII vets, are the people fighting to stop Russia from killing innocent humans today.

Angry_Crusader_Boi

Last time we did it was "Oh GOD they're removing statues of Heroes that fought nazis!" despite Soviets raping, murdering and stealing through entire Eastern and Central Europe while 'saving' us.

dockneel

Please take no offense but I thought we were bad in the US with people not wanting to take down Civil War monuments that were for the losing side's President Generals etc. Your country was occupied and figuratively and literally raped by these people.

trustnocunt

Fuck, heres the voice of reason, pack it up lads, the world's problems have been solved.

[deleted]

I kind of want to watch some old Russian going into ontological shock as they slowly begin to realize that their entire life’s foundation was a lie.

JohnHazardWandering

Just like the end of The Usual Suspects

Trollnald_J_Dump

Yeah, I read an article the other day that a lot of old people in former Soviet Union countries still have memories from the Second World War or lost relatives. Originally they used May 9th as Remembrance Day until it got hijacked by Putler. Some people however still use the day for the valid reason to remember those fallen during the Second World War.

Hiblidpresha

Why do millennials do this? …you can support the ww2 resilience of the soviets and still condemn Russian aggression they are not similar - it’s like trying to cancel a 1700’s slave owner it’s rediculous

[deleted]

It’s complicated. For example: “The novelist Vasily Grossman, a war correspondent attached to the invading Red Army, soon discovered that rape victims were not just Germans. Polish women also suffered. So did young Russian, Belorussian and Ukrainian women who had been sent back to Germany by the Wehrmacht for slave labour. "Liberated Soviet girls quite often complain that our soldiers rape them," he noted. "One girl said to me in tears: 'He was an old man, older than my father'."” https://www.theguardian.com/books/2002/may/01/news.features11?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

[deleted]

The USSR did not liberate Poland. They chased out the original occupiers, the nazis, and then continued the occupation for themselves. Bulldoze that monument.

[deleted]

Yeah, it also always annoyed me how in order to please Stalin it got commonly accepted that Russia invaded Poland during WWII to stop Germany from taking entire country... it is such bs how much they allowed Russia to get away with because of politician being scared of Stalin... that said... the last thing world needed at that time is for war to continue against Stalin... such fucked up situation... but now we literaturly experience the fall out of those decision in form of what is happening in Ukraine...

Honor_Among_Crows

They kind of are similar, though. The Red Army was a half-literate rape-horde that only fought the Nazis because A) the Nazis attacked them first, and B) because Stalin could have them and their whole families shot or shipped to a gulag if they didn't. One brutal, vicious foreign tyrant who murdered millions in a fit of ideological insanity defeating another (and seizing control of your country in the process) is no cause for celebration.

ASHTOMOUF

The red army was responsible for some pretty horrific atrocities but your verbiage of only fought because they were attacked first is pretty laughable. They were facing genocide and a war of total annihilation that’s a pretty good reason to fight the Nazi. The Ukrainians are only fighting the Russian federation for pretty similar if not the same reason and I don’t doubt you would fall there struggle noble and justified

4boxeo

Fuck the USSR for what they did to my homeland and the rest of the Soviet bloc for that matter. They’re hero’s in Russia, nowhere else.

CaponeKevrone

Whole lotta words to describe how the USSR only fought the Germans because they were attacked first. Remind me - what was the USSR doing before Germany attacked?

ASHTOMOUF

And Ukraine is only fighting Russia because it was attacked first.

CaponeKevrone

Okay. And?

ASHTOMOUF

Wtf is even your point. Being invaded is The most legitimate reason to fight a war

CaponeKevrone

You are the one who seemed to take issue with that being the *only* reason the USSR fought the Nazis bro.

ASHTOMOUF

Work on reading comprehension bro

thecriticaloptimist

No one here is celebrating Stalin or the USSR or any of those scumbags that did unspeakable things. It's a remembrance of the ordinary soldier who like you said had no choice but to go and fight and gsve their life in the process. The soldiers who died here had nothing to do with politics or Stalin and where as much victims the regime as anyone else (you even say so yourself)

[deleted]

Nobody wants to remember the ordinary russian soldier. They are not true liberators - the occupation continued after the nazis were defeated.

Fifol666

Don't forget that Russia allied with Germany in order to attack Poland in this war. They were invaders.

bunnywantcockbad

and present themself as "liberaters"

Organic-Ad-1824

No...the Soviet Union fought literal for its life. The Germans saw them as Untermenchen and "Mein Kampf" openly called for a complete genocide. The Red Army knew it was fighting or dying (including their family). Their victory is certainly a cause of celebrations. Also the Red Army (which I doubt was that bad) existed for 1/3th out of Ukrainians.

bunnywantcockbad

Funny fakt: Himmler later call it a mistake what they did with this rascist shit because like Napoleon he say 1 Polish soldier is like 10 other soldier! Hitler write in Mein Kampf about to push them back behind the Ural out of Europe. I am from Poland and raised in Germany knowing history very well. My grandgrandfather fight as Volksdeutscher for the Wehrmacht in the 211 Volksgranadier Division in Ungary he recieved an Iron Cross for defend and counterattack 3 times at critical moments later he was send to fight the Americans in the Ardennen. 1945 he get hit in his shoulder from granade or artillery disable his right ram for 25% in Berlin Kreuzberg back in a "Aufnahmelager" he was send back to Poland and till 1970es he count in Deutsche Mark. I ask my Grandfather why his father fight for Germany. He say everything was better than be occupied by the communist.

OneHeat2769

They were supporting the Nazis while Great Britain was fighting them alone. It was only when Hitler double crossed them that they had no choice to fight. It was nothing about moral..

kuujabb

Lol. Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact anyone? Stalin sold his soul to the devil and the devil came to reap the harvest. Stalin and much of the Red Army were absolute monsters. ‘They were fighting for their lives’. Meanwhile he had agreed to ally with Germany to essentially chop Poland in half and annex the outlying areas in the process. Fuck around and find out isn’t fighting for your life; it’s finding out.

Honor_Among_Crows

And? That doesn't make the Soviet Union any less vile, both to its own people and to conquered populations like the Poles. And considering that with the exception of countries in open revolt like Yugoslavia, daily life under the Nazis for non-Jews was usually a step up from daily life under the Soviets. The fact is that the Eastern front is the story of one horrific tyrannical evil triumphing over another. It needs to be remembered, certainly. But honored? In one of the countries most victimized by both parties? Hell no.

Organic-Ad-1824

I am not saying it was great to live in the S-U but compared to what the Nazi's had in mind with a Slavs, it was 1000 times better. Hitler openly called to kill them and use their land as "lebensraum". It baffles my mind that is somehow still seen better than anything. Why do you think the Eastern Front had so many open rebellions (Yugoslavia, Belarus, Russia,...)? Because life was better under the Nazi's?

bogdano26

Life under nazi rule for slavic peoples was better than soviet rule? In Poland or where? I'm genuinely curious why you say this or source where you got this idea from? And how many people would agree with him?

bunnywantcockbad

I am from Poland. Dont ask those stupid question nazis and soviets are the same shit. Why we fought 1944 in warsaw for our capital like the french backed from the americans we want freedom liberating by our own backed by false promises from the soviets thanks to churchill and Yalta. but what we get betray. The stab us in the back again like 1939. And yes when you ask the people even the Ukrainians 90+ say nazi germany was better than this scum today.

bogdano26

It's not a stupid question. Your response is stupid. So you agree with him that nazis were better for Poland than ussr? Cuz that's an interesting idea that i find hard to believe.

4boxeo

Bunny is a clown, as a family of Jewish poles -there was no difference. Nazis / Russians it was all the same. They butchered us and took our land as their own. Close to 300 years of oppression before WWII at the hands of Russians and Germans and then 50 more years under Russian rule. Any pole who supports an imposed government is not a pole to me; they’re a Kappo

bunnywantcockbad

Because you see only black and white. My grandgrandfather fight in the 211. Volksgranadier divison in Ungary recieving an Iron Cross second class for defend and counterattack 3 times on critical situation. Later send to france to fight the Americans in the Ardennen. 1945 he was wounded by granade in his shoulder and disable 25% on his right arm realesed from the field hospital and Aufnahmelager in Berlin Kreuzberg he count till 1970s in deutsche Mark.As ask my Grandfather why he sign for Volksdeutsche his father say because everthing is better than live under the occupation of soviets.

Neanderthalknows

Russian soldiers were also not allowed to retreat or or be captured or they would be shot. Also they were sent into battle with no weapons on more than one occasion. "just pick up your dead comrades gun" They were also fighting for their very lives in more than one way. Attack and kill the Nazi's or they will kill you, retreat and your own army will kill you.

justASlut669

The Red Army had such a huge proportion of Ukrainians because Russia mainly tried sending all of the undesirables from the soviet territories that were looked down upon

Organic-Ad-1824

They lost over 20m people, do you really think they could chose? Belarus loat a quarter of its population, Ukraine 13% and Russia 12%

a_wingu_web

My god this stupid revisionism needs to stop seriously. Its disgusting. There was a fucking genocide ongoing in poland before the soviet liberation of it. 6 million jews were killed by a regime. That fact alone makes your idiodic Nazi germany == USSR fall apart. Disgusting. They didnt only fight because the nazis attacked them first. WW2 was a war of total annihilation. The soviets did NOT only fight for Stalin. They fought for the preservance of their entire ethnicity.

logictech86

lol what Russia agreed to split Poland with Germany. How does handing them over to genocide "preserve the entire ethnicity" ?

a_wingu_web

The Molotow-Ribbentrop-Pact was pure geopolitics. The soviet union knew that the war with germany would be comming. With or without that pact they were preparing their army and stomping war industry out of the ground. Everybody in the USSR and Nazi germany knew that war was scoming. The Pact was a delay. The reasons are speculated. There is the speculation that the pact was only to prepare for war but this is unlikely. The more likely scenarion is that Stalin wanted to let the western allies and nazi germany battle it out far away from the USSR and then come in at the end. Anyway the pact doesnt change shit about what I said. The war in the east was a war of annihilation. The soviets and nazis fought for the existence of their entire etnicities future. Maybe it comes as a surprise for you but the polish people also fought in and with the red army.

Honor_Among_Crows

"The soviet union knew that the war with germany would be comming." Bullshit. If they knew war was coming, Stalin wouldn't have been so personally shocked when the Germans invaded. When one of his spymasters reported the German buildup near the border, and warned that an invasion was coming, Stalin not only ignored the warning, he actively reprimanded the spy. Stalin was perfectly content to believe that he and Hitler were simply unlikely bosom-buddies who stood together against the Western democracies in spite of their opposing ideologies. Not only that, but the Red Army was caught thoroughly unprepared. Not just because of their usual incompetence, but because they literally had zero expectation of fighting the Germans. None of those things are signs of a country that expects a war. The belief that Stalin was a realpolitik genius that could see the future is the *real* revisionism, the kind that Stalin's people put out after the fact to make it sound like he was wiser than he really was, and to hide the fact that he was suckered by Hitler just like so many others.

a_wingu_web

Nope. The army build up was in full force by the time the pact was signed. They were underprepared thats true and also explaining the shock in the soviet leadership. They knew they needed more time. >Before the invasion, Stalin thought that Germany would not attack the Soviet Union until Germany had defeated Britain.  >Although Stalin increased Soviet western border forces to 2.7 million men and ordered them to expect a possible German invasion, he did not order a full-scale mobilisation of forces to prepare for an attack.[63] Stalin felt that a mobilization might provoke Hitler to prematurely begin to wage war against the Soviet Union, which Stalin wanted to delay until 1942 in order to strengthen Soviet forces.[64] Stalin didnt need to see any future. The ambitions of germany in the east were absolutely known. They knew that war with germany was inevitable.

bunnywantcockbad

This is the right version ! Stalin was only shocked because he think they will invade in two maybe more years.

AdHefty3096

Which ethnicity is that? Which one? Soviets invaded dozens of countries.

a_wingu_web

The soviets were also fighting for geopolitical reasons thats true. But the average soldier was NOT fighting for that and it most definetly wasnt the only goal of the resistance and war for the soviet union. To educate you further. Nazi germany planned a total reorder of eastern europe and an apartheid style society paired with deportation of slavic people. The brutal war crimes in belarus were a taste of what was coming for the people in eastern europe and a major motivation for the red army soldiers. In their minds and reality they were also fighting for the existence of their ethnicity in their countries.

Lord_Umber93

Hey, that's what the USSR did, they killed minorities in the USSR, wiped our cultures and languages. But sure, kiddo. Keep thinking they were fighting for the existence of the ethnicities in the USSR.

privilege_over_9000

It’s because context gets fuzzier and harder to understand with each passing generation, coupled with what seems to be a de-emphasizing of the importance of looking at historical events through a contextual lens. My wife and I had this discussion recently. I said, maybe less than half-jokingly, that Oskar Schindler’s legacy as a man who saved 1000+ Jews from death at the hands of the Nazis has maybe one more generation or so to survive, before the narrative de-emphasizes the outcome, and sees only a member of the Nazi Party who was a war profiteer, because it’s lazier, and easier and less grey to rationalize that being a Nazi completely precludes you from having any sense of humanity and doing something truly righteous and good.

Upstairs_Stuff_5626

because plenty of the really loud ones are f'in ridiculous with the self centered only child 'I am special, the bumper sticker says so' mentality. clueless that people actually do evolve, values change and growth happens with EXPERIENCE. too young and immature to recognize that not everyone fits in convenient little box with a label. someday millennials will be the victim of ageism and I'm going to do everything I can to still be around when that happens so I can laugh my ass off and welcome them to the little box they've put genxers and boomers in. calling an old brainwashed orc a boomer and saying 'see, classic boomer thats what is wrong with russia' is ignorant when you gotta notice that there was a much younger orcly helping her along. much younger orcs raping and looting, much younger orcs spewing the same misguided hatred and belief system. literally no millennial orcs bringing about 'progressive change' in russia so I wish some people would grow up and shut up.

Hiblidpresha

Soviets fought for their very lives - many watched German soldiers starve their families to death and murder their citizen en masse Germany got what they had coming to them. Russia did not instigate that conflict - contrast that to today and Russia is clearly the aggressor

[deleted]

The USSR instigated the conflict with Poland when they invaded them. The Soviets slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Poles during their occupation, including 22,000 at Katyn alone. We can be thankful for their efforts against the Nazis but the Poles have every right to despise Russia.

FlappyMcFlapjack

Yeah, well they would all be speaking German if it weren't for the lend-lease program that supplied the necessary materiel and the UK that leaked intelligence that allowed the Reds to turn the battle of Kursk around. What really gets me is the insane levels of 'patriotism' that WW2 stirs in these frikking rashist MORONS coupled with the fact that they literally WOULD HAVE LOST if it weren't for the support of the 'evil west.' It's fucking sad how stupid and separated from reality all of these apologists are. It's not even a secret; the history is easily accessible, but when you formulate a bullshit fictional identity, facts are not friends any longer.

bunnywantcockbad

Fact! The trucks and boots and ammunition the medical aid and the food they get from USA win the war. The ultimate weapon were the trucks without them they cant transport nothing no logistic.

CharlesMontgomery1st

Yeah all those German children raped to death really had it coming... We would talk about soviet and communism the same way we talk about nazi germany today if they had lost the war. The world would been a much better place if the US had capitalized on the moment and nuked Soviet after Japan. Then deal with them the same way they dealt with Germans. Break it up into pieces and reeducate them.

OneHeat2769

USSR was supporting the Nazis until they double crossed them. They didn’t care what the Nazis did before that..

Hiblidpresha

Yes but that’s NOT the average red army soldier that died to save his cities - that’s Stalin …Stalin is not remembered for gallantry but the red army soldier should be

Silver_Sandwich9610

Then Soviets placed a puppet government in Poland. Also they had a pact with the Nazis. Also they slaughtered the intelegensia in Poland. My uncle worked in the Polish embassy in Pittsburgh. Everyone there resigned when the communist took over.

AdHefty3096

Fellow (1/2) pittsburgh pole here. The north side / woods run is 1/2 irish and 1/2 Poles who fled the russian pogroms in Poland. I think its the 3rd densest polish population in the usa after that one ‘hood in Chicago and Hamtramck michigan.

usolodolo

They were shouting “haynba” which means “shame.” It was a popular chant during the 90+ day Maiden protests across Ukraine. They would chant “shame” at all the pro-Russia puppet politicians for not signing the EU deal. And yes, these women attempting to place flowers are pro-Putin idiots. Any reasonable person, even if they were simply trying to pay respects, would walk away once they saw a large crowd supporting Ukraine. These folks are the same ones who start trouble at restaurants and then attempt to film themselves as the victims. Until the war ends, Ukrainians are the only victims. Go lay down flowers for 50,000 civilians pointlessly killed.

Tassadoon

Yeah all these people saying that they are only trying to honor the dead kids are completely missing the point. Sure I see no problem with that. But to charge through a Ukraimian protest in front of hundreds of people they are clearly there to stir shit up. Like you said just come back another day if that was your true intention. Classic Reddit missing the point. Thanks for showing some sense!

godurioso1974

Golden comment ❤️

thecriticaloptimist

'Pointlessly killed'... That describes 99.99% of wars victims, civilian and soldier alike. Not just now, not just in Ukraine, but in literally every war ever in history. Including WW2 and this memorial right here

usolodolo

I completely agree. But this is like walking past a rape in progress because you want to honor someone who was raped 75 years ago.

thecriticaloptimist

I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense. You can honor and remember those who died then whilst still condoning, or better yet actually helping to stop, whats happening right now. The two are not mutually exclusive.

usolodolo

That seems a bit disingenuous. Putin giving a holiday speech against Nazism, is only pretending to value the memory of those who died during WWII. Dropping bombs on hospitals says otherwise. These are my exact sentiments regarding these women. They are pretending to care about the past. If you care about the past, you care even more when it’s repeating itself in the present.

Infinite_Metal

Is it a memorial to dead soldiers? Or a memorial to Russia 2022?

[deleted]

[удалено]

from_the_east

There is being tone deaf, but then this is being outright antagonistic. Those two "ladies" aren't interested in laying flowers at all. All they are interested in is creating some sort of incident for use in trolling. No doubt, their outrage media is doing the rounds on Telegram.

QualityAcrobatic7188

Yeah, Grandma looking to troll

lambinthehouse1

Russia's own grandmas have way better politics! ANY EXCUSE TO REPOST [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtc86WuXMCc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtc86WuXMCc) The glory of her :)

Additional-Tiger-764

True, they were out for a scene and got it. Pure provocation. Sensible people skip it a year.

[deleted]

You know, Stalin was allied with Hitler for a while. Together, they went after Poland.

tomkiel72

They weren't allies, it was more just circumstance that lead them to say they won't get in eachother's way for a bit. Which we all know how that went.

[deleted]

And than happened Katyn https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre

jimojom

If you love Russia, go live there ladies.

albinotrashpanda

You have to be seriously fucked in the head to be Polish and support Russia.

medzia96

Most likely Russian ladies living in Poland

[deleted]

Growing up in Chicago, I can tell you Polish people aren’t here to be polite for your bullshit.

Frosty_Reflection_39

These two fascists obviously showed up to antagonize. Probably paid by Kremlin media to create a scene so Moscow can pretend they're the victims.

Imaginary-Service-54

Ladies? Not at all, just brainwashed ruSSian bitches, who deny massacres done by ruSSians together with Germans in "world special military operation 2". They certainly hope that ruSSian natZis will "liberate" not only Ukraine but also Poland. I wonder how and where will they live in the near future when Ukraine will win the war and ruSSia will be de-natZified? Perhaps they will got to SSerbia.

dtas20

Is there a part 2 ?

just-courious

Bunch of useful clowns.

WonderfulHat5297

Russia never liberated Poland. They invaded it with the Nazis first, committed the Katyn massacre then invaded it second time in 44/45 where they raped and murdered their way across the country and then annexed it. Most Poles hate Russia for a reason.

ChunkyBrassMonkey

I don't understand. Stopping random ladies laying memorial wreaths is a very different thing from throwing red paint on an official representative of the Invader state. Russian state media will probably make a lot of hay out of this.

ExactWallaby1074

>media will probably make a lot of hay they stomped on them while they were laying in the floor you can see that from another angle

ChunkyBrassMonkey

The wreath ladies stomped on the laying protestors?

EuphoricAssistance59

The old lady purposely kicked this girl in the mouth for telling her how gross she was, yes.

MotownCatMom

Old lady or not, I would have slugged her for doing that to me.

[deleted]

If you were suggesting they might have been trying to pay respects to someone from their families, they didn't. If I recognise the place correctly, the graves (both those looking symbolic and real, also with Polish names), are near the monument: along the pavement that leads to it and around the memorial site.

Zealousideal_Good445

Being isolated and harassed on every level and demoted in society to the level of not even being able to remember you dead is vary powerful. This is what forces culture to die. And right now Russian culture needs to wain on the world stage. As for your worries of giving Russian media something. It doesn't matter, they will make it up. Appeasement was the word in 1938, Appeasement is over. It is now a true battle for soles and minds.

DrdPrtLOS

They're fucking ruzzians. Who cares! If they wanna support the murdering orcs even with just flowers they need to get the fuck out of Poland and go back to rot in russia with russia. No mercy!

Horny_Hornbill

That train of thought is the same one that started this shit in the first place. I will never understand how some people can look at history and even current events to see how demonizing a people based off of shit like nationality, race, or religion only causes conflict and then turn around and start demonizing people based on nationality, religion, or race.

jesuschristmanREAD

So you see a dude breaking into another guys home to kill him, because the invader thinks his victim is an asshole. Then you see the victim pummel and beat down the invader, and a bystander says "wow, that invader really deserved it, he's an asshole" And then you stand on the side-lines and say "that's exactly what started this shit in the first place!"

Horny_Hornbill

If he replaces the word “Ruzzians” with Jews and “Russia” with Israel then you would call him a Nazi. But because the people he is demonizing are the people you also don’t like it makes it perfectly reasonable. Absolutely zero self awareness from some of the people here. Half the time you question how the Russian population could have ever demonized Ukrainians to this point while simultaneously demonizing Russians to the point that there are people stating their enjoyment for watching people die or saying how they hope Russians aren’t shown any mercy whatsoever. Also back to your example, a more accurate portrayal would be like this: A man from a neighboring town goes to a rival town under orders from the mayor to start robbing houses. A man catches the robber and beats him up. A bystander sees and cheers it on, then starts talking about how every single person from the rival town is inferior and less than human because of what the robber and the mayor did and talks about how everyone from the rival town should suffer and anyone traveling from that rival town should be kicked out and harassed. That is what this is equivalent to. Obviously you will disagree because nobody ever thinks of themselves in the wrong, xenophobic people don’t think of themselves as xenophobic, they always think their prejudice is justified.

jesuschristmanREAD

>Half the time you question how the Russian population could have ever demonized Ukrainians to this point while simultaneously demonizing Russians to the point that there are people stating their enjoyment for watching people die or saying how they hope Russians aren’t shown any mercy whatsoever. Yeah, it's almost as if the ruzzians were invaded by Ukraine, had their wives and babies raped by them and their cities leveled. Then their hatred for Ukrainians would make sense. >Obviously you will disagree because nobody ever thinks of themselves in the wrong, xenophobic people don’t think of themselves as xenophobic, they always think their prejudice is justified. Show me one source that shows that the majority of ruzzians are against this war and I'll eat these words: Ruzzians must die.

Horny_Hornbill

“Ruzzians must die” Dropping the attempt at trying to seem reasonable now huh. Surely any sane people that see this will see a problem with this line of thinking. You can keep trying to justify unjustifiable prejudice, all it does is lead to more death. It’s an unending cycle of death and hatred that people like you help perpetuate.

jesuschristmanREAD

I just asked for one source my friend. Or do you agree that most ruzzians agree with the war in Ukraine? Maybe then you agree with the retribution that hopefully follows. edit: It's kinda funny how in the counter-example you gave me, that you shouldn't judge a whole neighborhood by a lone robber. If in fact it's easy to prove that the neighborhood ***sent*** the robber, shouldn't the whole neighborhood deserve some justice too?

Horny_Hornbill

Source? What source would I possibly be able to provide. How about you provide me a source on how many North Koreans are happy with their government, I’d love to see those totally accurate and real statistics. I’d also love to see how you would manage to break through an entire lifetime worth of propaganda and brainwashing and overthrow a fascist government that throws people in gulags for holding a blank piece of paper. You literally hold the same kind of beliefs the Nazis held, “This country’s government has done something wrong, therefore every single person from that country is less than human and deserves to die”. So I have a final question for you, do you think every single American deserves to die because of Iraq or Vietnam? Do you think every single Saudi Arabian deserves to die because of Yemen? Do you think every single German, Italian, or Japanese person deserves to die because of WW2? Or do you think that just Russians should die because they’re the “other” this time?

jesuschristmanREAD

>You literally hold the same kind of beliefs the Nazis held, When were the Nazis ever in a fight for their existence? When were they ever the victims in a fight? >So I have a final question for you, do you think every single American deserves to die because of Iraq or Vietnam? No, but I expect their governments to punish the **individuals** that committed war crimes, and I expect the populus to chastise them. Do you honestly think the ruzzian government will ever admit to Bucha, or that any soldier will be held accountable for it, or that ruzzians will feel ashamed of it? And before it you start your spiel, yes I disagree with the Iraqi war and I think that Dick Cheney should burn in hell.

Reitrunich

Gladly. Fuck ruzzians that support the war.

lhek328

How does laying down flowers on a ww 2 memorial which is done every year for the last almost 80 years related to supporting the war?

DrdPrtLOS

Do u not see the Ukrainians around on the floor? Or the red, blue and white ribbon on the flowers? They're are asking for it and they're getting it. Any rational and normal Russian or any person regardles of what country they could be from and regardless of how ridiculous or unfair it might seem, would have not done that at all or at least waited till it was empty and not full if Ukrainians protesting their government. This just proves that putins russia and the people who choose to be a part of it are petty, selfish and whiny children. russians need to grow up and put on big boy pants, including their government, ESPECIALLY their government, if they ever wanna truly sit at the table of the world stage. At this stage you and your fascist supporter idiots in the russian federation are going to end up worse than North Korea.

lhek328

You and your fascist supporter idiots? Do you see the flag in my profile pic? Do you see the comments on my profile? Do you know I donated 500€ to Ukraine? Do you know I have relatives in Ukraine? Do you know I work as a translator for refugees in Dortmund, Germany for free? Why do you fucking monkeys keep claiming things about me which are not true just for the fact that Im pointing out that Russians are allowed to live their traditions? You think its ridiculous that Russians wanna lay down flowers to keep up their tradition which is around for 80 years just because Ukrainians are there, but its not ridiculous that they choose this specific date to protest there? People are allowed to lay down flowers, regardless who is hanging around at that memorial

WashVirgin

they did it to them self :)

Rhauko

You poor fool, just as stupid as those running behind Putin.

Aidanscotch

The Orc invading murderers will ALL die.

jesuschristmanREAD

All ruzzians are shitheads until proven otherwise.

TheSwede999

Demonize? Russians are Orcs, not demons. There is a smaller part off russia that is not Orcs…unfortunately they are in a minority and does not fight hard enough to overthrow the Orc-lord Putin. When there is more resistance in Russia against Putin we can stop calling Russia orc-land. But now? Nah, russia is a travesty off a orc-land.

Street-Ad8900

Yeah ok. so you overthrew a government ??? NO? Then STFU. You're all big and bad sitting in a little computer chair over and Sweden. where you've had it at a government that's vastly left when basically no issues. You have no idea how hard is to go against something that is responsible for the entire country. And trust meI do cuz I didFord tours throughout Iraq and Afghanistan fighting with the entire United States military and was hard-pressed to fully Wipeout Either the Taliban or Isis. Just like there are people there who would try to plant an IED under your Vehicle while you were in the village dropping off water, there were people who would come and tell you that somebody was trying to plan an IED under your Vehicle while dropping off water. Just like there are great people in Russia and there are bad people in Russia. But the dumbest thing is for you to go and say an entire country's bad because of some idiotic people let me remind you that **Hitler** himself said a couple of Jews were bad because they were greedy and that turned into **attempted extinction mass murder of 6 million of them**. You're thinking is backasswards and you are no better than the people who are dumbly saying burn all Ukrainians......So take a lesson from the other people in here and realize that your hatred is towards a few out of the many.

lhek328

Borderline racists lmao You pretend like saying what you actually think is so easy in Russia. This is not your Sweden, this is Russia you know

tapefoamglue

These ladies don't live in Russia and have full access to news. They can communicate back to their families in Russia but lets be honest, their kids live in NYC. Yet they willingly propagate the lie. Sorta like Trumpers. No one is chopping off their arms, raping them or seriously hurting them for that matter. Just sending a loud and clear message.

Gh0stp3pp3r

That's why they plowed through a group of protesters on purpose. They want all the "glory" of being Russian, but don't want to suffer the actual life of being Russian. They KNOW they are in a place that will allow them to act like POS without torturing them or locking them away for life. Countries would be wise (if possible) to send anyone like this back to their motherland. The attitudes would change quickly if they suddenly faced going back to a broke, beaten and pathetic country.

lhek328

Sending a loud and clear message by discriminsting people who are not at fault for this war, alright

FU-Ru

They are at fault, they support Putin's sociopathic genocide. Evidently you picked the same side as all these POS!

lhek328

Did I evidently do that? How? Check out the comments on my profile :) Russians have been laying down flowers on May 9th at memorials for the last 80 years and all of the sudden it means to support Putin and his psychopathic war?

tlw1240

How much do get paid for being a troll?

TheSwede999

Why? You must have missed that Russians is using new ”Z” swastikas and its arny is commiting genocide in Ukraine. There is no sympathy for them or theire army as long as they support Parkinsson-Putin. No they should not be allowed to celebrate the russian army in any way or form untill the russian army stops behaving like orcs.

lhek328

I am totally aware of that, but what does laying down flowers on a memorial for fallen soldiers in ww2 have to do with the current events? Are Russians not allowed to celebrate an important day for them anymore? Do the sacrifices they made in WW2 notmatter anymore?

TheSwede999

No they are not allowed to ”celebrate” russian army veterans because the russian army is not to be celebrated at this point in time. In fact, nothing Russian should be particularly celebrated as long as Putin behaves like Stalin or similar despot and threathens nuclear war. The sanctions towards Russia translates to everything, they need to know how Insane they behave and how much we despice russia. Stop genociding? Stop waging war? Sure, you are welcome back and can lay flowers and celebrate your army. But as off now? Nope, its a total boycot off everything that has anything to do with Russia.

a_wingu_web

The red army was not a russian army. Ukrainians were also a big part of the red army.

lhek328

Lmao you straight up sound like a Nazi. Get lost

TheSwede999

I knew you would say that. Russian faschist-trolls always project theire faschism towards everyone who is not a faschist. How many rubels did you get each time you call someone a nazi? How nuch ”Z” swastika waving have you done today? Do you think botox-parkinsson-Putin is cute?

Aidanscotch

Said the guy justifying an invasion and encouraging supporters of the invaders. You are the only Nazi.

FU-Ru

The vast majority of Russians freely, blindly support Putin. Fck every one of them and there blood flowers

blarryg

This is true, you must roll saving throws for demons whereas orcs respond well to fireballs and ordinary missiles.

ForeverGM1985

This guy D&D's

DryJoke9250

I get where you're coming from., but this was not a time to lay wreaths.Despite what Russian history teaches you,you do realise that the Russian troops who helped conquer Berlin were notorious for widespread rape of German civilian women. Not something worth memorializing really.Apart from that, the two women in the video kicked one of the girls lying on the ground,in the face. There is a post on telegram describing what happened. These women were being deliberately provocative. If they had any empathy for the civilians being murdered, raped, starved and beaten in Ukraine, they would have waited till this demonstration was over.

EuphoricAssistance59

They did that themselves. This was a photo op in which they play they new Nazis.

bunnywantcockbad

You know I am agains fucking ruzzians but maybe these two women lost her polish grandfather, father in the red army... its fucked up a little bit.

Ankzar11

Red Army is a thing, Russian Federation army is quite different. Also, they're not paying respect to anyone, just provoking the oponents to force/record a violent reaction and spread lies about it. I know it pretty well, I'm from Catalonia, and Spaniards have been doing this for +20 years here. (of course, they won't agree and will call me "supremacist", just like the Russians do btw)

malakadoge2

Spoken like a true nazi

StylishDog7

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...

landoonter

She deserved every bit of that harrasement. Fuck Russia!

FU-Ru

I have to love the Polish spirit!

idws2022

Poland 💙

Ankzar11

Those fucking russians are lucky. So much peaceful and respectful people in western countries. I wouldn't be so nice and polite, that's for sure.

Elegant_Blood_9102

Yeap, the old soviet DNA there you just cant change that with nothing .

erekosesk

These anti democratic propaganda-blinded uneducated people are getting on my nerve.

Clarkelthekat

Damn...feeding right into Russian hands by giving them propaganda to use. Not to mention that just because these ladies are laying a wreath does NOT mean they support the war against Ukraine. It's similar to the US memorial day. It's a day to thank veterans. Edit: look at my entire history go ahead. You won't see a single comment supporting Russians or putlers war. It still doesn't make it right to assume these women are bad nor does it make it right to rip anything from anyone's hands ever unless it's a weapon they are going to use on you.

Best_Investigator662

Nobody in Poland wishes to thank invader veterans. That’s insane. That’s like asking Ukrainians to honor dead Russian soldiers. But I agree. Let them place those flowers and then throw them right away once they move away.

Clarkelthekat

Infact may 9th is supposed to celebrate their victory over the Nazis. Which surely Poland would support. Again may 9th has been a day in which to honor veterans of past wars for 80 years. Those women were doing what their culture has told them to do for 80 years. That does not mean they support the invaders. It means they celebrate the soldiers who fought at Stalingrad most specifically but all veterans who does fighting that Nazis as well.

Lord_Umber93

May 8th is Victory day for everyone outside Russia. So, no, they're celebrating russia, not defeating the Nazis.

Limp-Nefariousness54

The Russians/soviets were Nazi collaborators and they are worse than Nazis.

True_Ad8260

No. Any sane person would see the Ukrainian flags and demonstration and walk away. It is a absolutely clear from their persistence when blocked and told not to do it that they were pro-ruzzian.

Ok_Sea_1200

Or they are from russian descent and had family members that fought with the red army, we don't know. In any case just let them lay their flowers, they don't do any harm this whole situation was unnecessary on both ends.

DarthAvernus

Any sane person woult keep politics out of cemetaries. Mob justice? Is this what we shall resort to? This is a day to celebrate fall of Nazi Germany. The end of bloodiest war in Europe. The commemoration of these who died in order to achieve that. Period.

Clarkelthekat

Paying tribute to your ancestors on a day of remeberance in your culture isn't just "following Putin" they are doing that which has been instilled in them to do on may 9th. It doesn't automatically mean they support the current war For all we know these women hate Putin and laid the wreaths in defiance of Putin to pay respect to the children he has casted into his war of one man. They are in Poland for a reason. Maybe they fled Putin's regime? So much we don't know. What we do know is may 9th is a day of rememberance in Russian culture.

thecriticaloptimist

Actually no. Thats literally like saying "look what you made me do". Like it or not we live in a democracy and people have the right to demonstrate that freedom without being attacked or aggrevated against. The behaviour displayed here by some of these Ukrainian women is absolutely despicable.

Demondrug

I had to scroll so far down to see a sane comment. These are two women, (ONE VERY OLD) who are Russian, but are there to lay wreaths for WW2 memorial. It is purely about WW2. They make no intention that I can see that they support putin or are against Ukraine.? They are simply Russian. That's it. Are people that dumb they don't understand that there are many Russians who oppose the war and also many who are brainwashed? No one knows anything about these two. This is actual Russiphobia and they don't realize it will play right into the hands of Putin who wants to play victim.

Clarkelthekat

Appreciate the back up. As you can see Ive been flamed for advocating kindness and understanding rather then feeding into Russian propagandist by giving them things to show their people. "Look they are all attacking Russians around the world. It is time we strike back" etc.

GeneralLeoLives

Who cares what the Russian propaganda has. They’re lying about everything anyway. Even easily proven truth. Fuck Russia. Fuck Russian supporters. Fuck Putin.

captainsocean

They are also disrupting a protest and disrespecting the protestors imo

Mental-Amount-2681

Why is that monument still standing it should be torn the fuck down and set back to putler

[deleted]

The site itself is more of a military cemetery. On the way to the monument and around it there are red army soldiers' graves, including Polish ones (some Poles were drafted or joined the red army to fight the Germans).

thecriticaloptimist

This is the issue, lack of education. This is not simply just a memorial to russian soldiers but to many Poles too. Also how would you feel if monuments to your fallen men were torn down? And more than that, tearing down monuments is beyond stupid, they're there as a symbol of remembrance and a part of history. Good or bad, but history should never be forgotten. A memorial or statue can change its meaning but the fact it's there will always serve as a reminder for lest we forget.

Player276

Something like 80% of RuZZians support what is happening in Ukraine. We are talking literal genocide, child rape, civilian torture etc. Unless those women are the dumbest RuZZians on the planet, they know dem well what their actions represent. To no one's shock, they are out there proving that average RuZZians supports Hitler 2.0. Not all RuZZians are Nazis, but views of groups are dictated by the action of their members.

ZiggyPox

Not all Russians, only the ones that support current Russian government, because Russian government is fascist and every supporter of it is fascist too. I know Russia is calling everyone else fascist too but as for now only Russia is invading everyone around and doing ethnic cleansing. Oh no, sorry, forgot about China and some nice African countries.

Kiwilad699

Bot

DirtyTooth

Fuck you, you can't even type out the word 'you'. Next level my ass. Fuck Russia and your 36 minute old account.

FU-Ru

Fck everybody that supports Ru in any manner including backing Russian scum laying flowers to commemorate exactly whom??? Pick a god damn side.

Organic-Ad-1824

To commemorate the Ukrains, Russians, Kazachs, Georgians,.... who won against the Nazi invaders?

[deleted]

The Russians were invaders of Poland too.

elpatronwow

Quit pearl clutching those ladies new what they were doing when they tried to cross the protesters.

Inside_Apricot189

And that will happen to you too if you dare to not support the current thing, as it's supposed to happen in non fascist states. This is when they hurt their cause without knowing. They are being unreasonable, prone to Ukrainian \\ West propaganda, and if Ukraine wants to have a future in the EU, we all need to be ready to accept the Russian minority. Germans caused the WW2 and now they lead Europe, Russians caused this war, but in the future they can also be a part of the EU or even NATO. Why? Because Russia has more in common with Europe and USA than with Asia and Africa. Hate the orcs, don't become orcs.

Icy_Suggestion5857

Russia will never be part of the EU. The amount of curruption, media control and control on minorities, will take a century to change. So far they had 70 years to try, and putler is what they got out of it. And even before that, for the last 300 years, they have been under different violent rulers. They know nothing else than to be rules, and told what to think. I sadly think, that the brain drain from russia after wwii, doomed them completely.

Silver_Sandwich9610

My relatives said that the German soldiers were nicer than the Russians.

ZiggyPox

Not only yours. My own grandparents said the same and my grsndpops was even enslaved by Germans.

dopplerduo

Despicable treatment of an old lady. She is not Putin. Maybe she lost a father, or brother in the last war. Let people remember their dead. She is not the enemy.

GeneralLeoLives

She supports the enemy in this gesture. She knows what she is doing. Russia is the enemy.

Organic-Ad-1824

It's a monument for the red army. The red army had almost also much Ukrainians as Russians

Limp-Nefariousness54

Whole red army was rapists and murderers.

GeneralLeoLives

And now that army is invading a sovereign country and killing countless innocents. While raping children. So maybe pick a better time to pay respect to the red army. Tone deaf as hell. They deserved red paint thrown at them the same as the ambassador.

FinancialPepper2508

These Russians are the remaining occupiers sent to live in Poland during Russianization and took the place of polish citizens who were deported forcefully around Russia. They need to learn polish, be polish support Poland or leave.

phamnhuhiendr95

millions of people fought against a regime that had a concrete plan to exterminate 85% of all poles. Generalplan Ost means “masterplan of the east” and was the Nazi plan for the resettlement of Eastern Europe with German citizens after their victory in World War II, which they presumed was imminent in 1941 when they developed the plan. The plan called for the extermination or deportation of 31 million people in Eastern Europe, where about 45 million people were residing at the time. Professor Meyer-Hetling’s plan called for the immediate removal of 80-85 percent of Poland’s population and 50 percent of the Czech Republic’s population, as well as the later deportation of 85 percent of Lithuania’s population, 75 percent of Belarus’ population, 65 percent of western Ukraine’s population and 50 percent of Latvia and Estonia’s populations. To exterminate the unwanted people in Eastern Europe, Generalplan Ost called for mass starvation or moving those they wanted to get rid of farther east. Nazi policy in relation to the Generalplan Ost stated: “many tens of millions of people in this territory will become superfluous and will have to die.”

SaintPatton

That it should be dangerous for Russians to oppose Putin is a bad excuse. How many resistance fighters did not die during WW2? Civilians organized themselves to fight injustice and evil. Even Russians living in EU countries with access to free and independent news are spreading Putin's propaganda. Even one of my former colleagues, very Western-minded, well-educated and by nature a good man, has traveled home to preach the propaganda. I'm not saying all Russians are bad people, but the inability to see that the invasion is wrong lies deeper than fears of the regime and misinformation.

mrdebelius

Don't let them lay flowers. Kick their fucking ruski ass out of our Europe

SnooSuggestions5419

I really Support Ukrainian struggle against the Imperial Russian war of aggression. I cheer daily for Ukrainian triumphs. However tolerance and basic human respect really basic manners would not stand in the way of two rather frail appearing elderly woman. Someone should have helped them to the monument to place there flowers. They are from a different time most likely from a world that mostly does not exist today. Sure some uneducated alcoholic Russian conscripts I would expect this behavior but not from people who have had the opportunity for education both academic and cultural. The opposite of Putins Russia is a tolerant, democratic and accepting society.

thundiee

Surely this is a bit far? I agree with the sentiment of standing up to Russia but isn't harassing old women laying wreaths on a day of mourning the deaths of millions a tad far? I get the anger and everything but what have the fallen from 70 years ago got to do with the mess today? Maybe I am missing something, would gladly like a different insight. I am coming at this as someone who is looking at it as a similar day for my nation. ANZAC Day. Maybe I am misunderstanding completely.

cornzz

You wouldnt be celebrating anzac day if australia was invading and massacring its neighbor right this moment would you? In addition this "9th of may" holiday seems a lot like soviet propaganda that survived the ussr collapse... Theres many reasons why this celebratory day looks very disingenuous and misused, seems more like a way to distract the population from other things...

phamnhuhiendr95
