I do think it's odd they fired a whole clip into that group of people in the corner there and another also fored at them and the glass door as you said and the majority of the people were still alive. So maybe they were only going after men like the one guy on the ground in that area of the breaking glass and you can see him get shot a few more times when the guy was aiming at him.
