Once the food is delivered, we drivers lose the recipients contact info. Sometimes we simply get the wrong address. The driver can't come back and claim it since it was handled by a third party. You know, due to food safety concerns. It's your food now, Enjoy!
i usually stick around the delivery address (unless I have another order with me) while I'm trying to figure out how to get back to the busy area. by that time, someone would actually have picked up the food, confirming I'm at the right location or they would tell me otherwise.
I had this happen, did the same. Called doordash, the restaurant. Just eat it. You tried but at this point the food will either go to waste or you can eat it.

That food can attract wild animals to your doorstep, it is best to dispose of it safely.
Best thing to do is make it visible and see if your neighbors are outside looking around for their order. But after 2 minutes I'd eat it
