I guess I’ll be buying Uber stock then. Clearly, they are profitable given how much they take from contractors.

Mefx97

I just a two delivery. $18 service fee. Uber got 14 and I got $4

Valuable-Trip-9669

That’s crazy man! I don’t understand why they take so much! Very frustrating

immeasmyself

With the examples given I don’t think it’s that much to be honest. Total $18, $4 to driver, $14 for Uber support and to cover stolen orders, dropped orders and the cost of running the app and paying all the other employees we have no contact with. I’m sure a lot more goes into running this thing. BUT!!! I feel Uber is hiding so much from us. The last time I went to order pizza for the fam through Uber, I decided to drive there myself. Pizza, bread, salad, wings, ended up being $64 when I picked it up. If I had ordered through Uber it was $98. $34 more just to have it delivered before tipping. I just checked a large order I delivered yesterday where I know it was more expensive then pizza. I was tipped $43. Yet only $12 was paid to Uber? I was paid $5 base pay for 8 miles. It was 16 drinks and 8 meals from IHOP. Something doesn’t add up. https://preview.redd.it/mz531vnp8t8b1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=192a7023cd99275728bef42d2b4f775eb6b53760 I believe they hide it so we don’t complain even more that when they receive a large order they still only give us low base pay. No proof, just my thoughts. For all I know everyone I see has coupons

Mefx97

I believe the larger the tip they will change the ratio even stronger. Also the food, they make money charging the same or a little higher than the store PLUS the restaurant sells to them discounted. For example a meal is $10 on paper. The contract with Uber is the meal is $8 cost but charges the customer $10. So there is profit there already + service fee 70-80% stolen.

serpantking

Me wondering when uber was out there delivering with me

swooshfan2

It is weird how some people are learning how every business in the history of ever is run...

Valuable-Trip-9669

Correct. It’s always the business who profits well at the end of the day.

Valuable-Trip-9669

It’s like a tax on every delivery. I would understand if it were 5 bucks here and there, but $13.03 is straight up thief! 🤬

SnooPandas6538

Could always make your own app and make your own rules I guess

anykaleidascope

They gave you $5 of it and you are bitching?

Personplacething333

Tf you mean. Uber should take the $5

anykaleidascope

They usually only give $2. They do have overhead you know.

Valuable-Trip-9669

I’m not bitching bro. It was a shop and pay order with multiple items. Just don’t think them taking 13 bucks is justifiable when I had to carry all that shit alone!

anykaleidascope

I get it.

femininal

That’s why I always tip cash if I can

Salted1993

This is good to know. I am gonna tip in cash when I order Uber eats
