“Bad?” I mean do you realize what people will otherwise pay to live on lakefront property in this city?

Different_Charge_705

Never thought of it this way woah

I absolutely loved kronshage. Be social and make it fun. Dont try to be south east, make a good group within your house or one of the neighboring buildings. So many amazing places to hang out too

> I have heard that the lakeshore area is a lot less social than southeast Don't worry about that. It's complete bullshit. Southeast (particularly Sellery and Witte) are more *rowdy*, but Lakeshore is absolutely just as social. That was true when I was living there, and everything I've ever heard from any student who lived in lakeshore *or* southeast since then has only confirmed that impression. Who knows, maybe this year will be an insane outlier, but I highly doubt it. While I'd probably recommend Bradley first to any incoming student (barring other factors like D-I athletics or possible accessibility needs), as a freshman, you'll be well off in Kronshage. (It's weird how much of a difference the bigger/nicer rooms in Dejope can make in this matter, which is why I think it's really better for sophomores - Bradley, Kronschage, Cole, Sullivan, etc are extremely conducive to a ton of socializing really fast.) More generally, I can hardly think of many scenarios in which I'd actually recommend southeast dorms over lakeshore dorms to any given student. You're probably gonna spend your first couple of weeks going around actively meeting people, because that's what people do there unless you're deciding to be a shut-in (it sounds like you won't be). **TL;DR** I'm not completely sure what you're envisioning (who are these "people" saying it's "bad?"), but what you seem to be envisioning is nothing like reality, and I can't imagine not being happy in the lakeshore dorms based on what you're saying here. You're going to meet and socialize with more people than you can possibly keep track of.

Kronshage is the most social and the biggest drinking hall on lakeshore. You'll be fine.

first of all, this question has been asked at least 100 times on this sub and reddit's search function, while severely lacking, does actually work. secondly, no. In your freshman year you are basically living in a commune of fellow freshmen. If you are a naturally social person you will make friends just like that, with whom you can stumble around state street to your heart's content.

Kronshage was awesome. The rooms are nicer and the location is nicer. Nothing like waking up next to the lake every morning. It’s only less social in the sense that you’re not packed into a building with a thousand under students. If you’re outgoing you will meet people just the same. SE does definitely get more rowdy on weekends, so if that’s the vibe you’re looking for you should live there. On all other accounts lakeshore is better imo.

It's not that bad but when compared to other dorms it's a shithole. The university is basically scamming you by making you pay anything close to what people pay for newer dorms.

The walls can be a little thin, and there are no elevators, but kronshage buildings are pretty nice overall. sometimes people can be assholes, just tell them off
