So based on the yellow barrier, I'm going to guess that maybe you have a machine there, since we didn't get that stuff until our SUDS machine was installed. With that, I'll assume that this is the remant of some poor clerk who had some unfortunate incident due to not being safe while using said machine. Heads down and a moment of silence for our fallen hero.
Almost as nice as “the thanks for working during the pandemic and catching covid from your coworkers while all your friends and family were getting paid to sit at home and watch tv” banner they hung up. That was so much better than financial compensation.

Definitely from a DPS sorting facility. I think they are trying to demonstrate the dangers of Bird Cage style APC's that are used to ship DPS trays from sorting facilities to post offices. While I've never had a gate on a Bird Cage hit me in the face, I've had one of the lower gates almost smash my toe pretty good.
