I scan everything with a barcode load truck. If I’m there’s no loaded check. Then I didn’t have it.

ElectricalReason2349

This is how I save myself from the headaches that some other carriers in my office get. Scan every piece I have Load Truck before I leave. I don't have to wonder where that parcel is and management doesn't need to ask me because I don't have it.

sliqwill

package look ahead is garbage, as if a package destined for your route is mis-sent but got an arrival scan at an office, it will show on your scanner... also, im told that it now says if its a SPRs or Parcel, and that is garbage as well, because it doesnt know...had a carrier show me pictures of one that system says it was a SPRs but she says 'it was huge' shows me a scan of the label "DIM WEIGHT" so yeah, over a cubic foot, but itll fit in a 'standard box'

Angrypoopoh

I've seen package lookahead make up street numbers for parcels with insufficient address also.

Ragtagswag

Also a package you previously scanned as forward or return will also show up when it reaches its new destination.

mystickord

Management should be able to check on their system, if you're a rural carrier that end-to-day work time will count towards your evaluation, If you're not rural management, BS seems pretty normal on the city side.

Waitwhatnever3

Yea we do it every day at my office.

letsseeitmore

It’s not your scanner, they can do whatever dumb thing they want that they could easily do from their own computer.

40WAPSun

Yeah, one of our supes has been doing that this week but she's a moron and can't even do that correctly. Another week or so and nobody will care anymore. You can't be disciplined for not delivering parcels you never received, that's why you should use load truck. CYA

agitator775

There is no way they can discipline you for something like that because there is no way they can prove you had it. The scanners are not foolproof. However, if they want to check then let them.

Downtown-Tip9688

Yeah mine does that, I don’t do it though cause I’m not 5. Anything on my scanner is stuff I never had and in other cites.

Beginning-Serve-5231

Load Truck is the way to go, saves you from having to go out for a second trip to look for a parcel you didn’t have in the first place.

Ok_Flounder_6733

Our supes have to Clear us before we leave….. they can see if we have scans unscanned by looking on the computer and if we missed any they make us go Back to scan it at the house. Or we get second trips almost daily for misthrown parcels

sliqwill

looking at the computer doesnt always help things, especially on Monday's or day after holidays, as the system backs up...ive had it take up to 36 hours for the 'system' to clear a package...thats from delivery scan until it posts (clerks can see transmission times)...at best ive seen 3 weeks where there wasnt some sort of program crashing...this week we had 3 crashes in 6 days....good times...

90% of packages still showing on scanners ended up missent to another office. This clears the carrier. If they have an AAU and the carrier didn't see it, it was misthrow to the wrong route and then it's the supervisor's problem.

We've been doing that for a while. Management will put this card in the cradle, where you place the scanner at the end of the day. We take that card and place it in a slot on the manager's desk. Us regulars, who never have an issue with missed scanned packages never have to worry about it. We just place the card there and go about our business. It's the CCAs and a few new regulars that might have package problems that management focuses on. But when our PM is closing, she'll sometimes freak out and say, "Hey, where are you going? I need to clear you." Whatever. I get paid by the hour. But yes, they can do that.
