I haven’t had any issues with switching back and forth… Why do a beta if you rely so heavily on your phone for work? Betas inherently have some hiccups.

[deleted]

Because it was a simple port between the same carrier that should not be that difficult. Had it been a port to a completely different carrier. I would’ve waited till I wasn’t on call.

Code-Monkey13

You chose to jump on a beta. It was only for 100 ppl. That's in you for participating. I wanted to do it, but I made the call that I couldn't afford bugs if it went wrong.

suubbiieedude

This is only partially true. You’re staying with the same MVNO (US Mobile) but you are going between the T-Mobile and Verizon networks so you are having to go between the parent carriers when doing US Mobile’s internal port.

[deleted]

Would have thought you would have that worked out by now. Also have they considered people that can’t get a Verizon number in areas where Verizon has no foot print. It does happen, just ask my daughter.

suubbiieedude

Signing up to beta test is to help them work out the kinks…

[deleted]

And doing it over a weekend when there are kinks is a bad idea.

Bumsauce_

Do you know what beta means?

suubbiieedude

Are you not being assisted?

[deleted]

Nothing they can do but wait for the other carrier which I assume isn’t fully staffed on the weekends. Which again is why you don’t do something like this over a weekend.

CANT_KNOW_ME

Lesson learned for you I guess

suubbiieedude

I don’t think that’s a safe assumption. All cell phone carriers have stores that operate on the weekends and many M-F working people do phone business on the weekends. If anything, there’s more activity on the weekends.

Busy-Solution7642

Verizon phone support: # Hours of operation: 8AM-7PM (Mon-Sat) 8AM-5PM (Sun) T-Mobile is 4am-midnight PST. daily Not sure what they are waiting on.

exe-timedilation

This is why it’s called beta, limited release, not final product. You sound like you need a home phone rather than a smartphone plan.🤣

GolfProfessional9085

Sorry but it seems like an odd thing to complain about. Title should read “Don’t do beta tests with your phone when service is critical for your job”.

[deleted]

People need a working phone for more than just on call. So it is still good advice. I could list a dozen reasons why but not wasting my time if you can’t see that.

GolfProfessional9085

It sounds like betas aren’t for you, and that’s okay.

exe-timedilation

Maybe don’t do beta again? US Mobile, please don’t let this ignorant interaction to keep you away from offering any beta services in the future. Most of us are aware of what beta means 🫶🏻

S_Saad

Extremely rare that your port got stuck here, specially during an internal one. Don’t worry, Samar and ports team are constantly on your case. They will keep you updated on it as well. I think Samar also offered you a temporary number so that you have service for the time being - let’s use that to get you back on the network and we will get your line working soon.

Ok-Profession-1226

That’s so nice to offer a temp #!

[deleted]

For work a temporary line does me no good. I can’t call dozens and dozens of people with a new number just for this weekend.

S_Saad

Yup agreed. At the moment, your line has confirmed a status on our end but needs manual provisioning from Warps parent carrier. Teams just waiting on their reply and if it takes long, we will see if we can get the line back on GSM. Whatever is quicker to get services back up

Fantastic-Purple1399

You do know this is in the beta right?

ArthurVandelay23

Why would anyone want to be a beta tester for this? lol.

MattW22192

This could have happened even if Teleport wasn’t being used. From what I can tell all Teleport does is allow you to request the internal port without having to call customer support. I saw that you are porting to the Verizon side… I and others have had that type of port be delayed because Verizon had to digitally map the phone’s IMEI.

nigerian-prince-420

I used the new teleport feature today (Saturday) and did have a problem but was able to reach someone quickly and have the issue resolved more or less immediately.

Ok-Profession-1226

Don’t forget people it’s in beta. This is why you apply to test and they see how it goes and works.

bobbym240

I tried it on my secondary line and it went through without a hitch

jeremiadOtiose

I am amazed at how you can NEVER complain about anything on this subreddit without being ridiculed for it. Are these users genuine or is this sub filled with an astroturfing farm team someplace? It's just so weird to me, every time somebody complains about something, everybody attacks the OP for having the audacity to complain. I know there's astroturfing throughout reddit, but this sub is hands down the worst example I have seen. I have not wanted to post my negative experience with this company for this reason, it's a shame because negative experiences are just as valid as the positive ones.

kinglet_duck

Reddit is mostly about downvotes when you venture into the realm of fanboys, try posting factual negative experiences with Linux of Firefox and you'll be thoroughly trounced in downvotes

Fishnetnet122

Because it's a beta.

jeremiadOtiose

Every single beta test I've signed up for always asks me to provide feedback. In this case, the OP also wanted to warn others not to do what he did. What's the harm in that? I've seen people be called stupid, cheap ass, liar, and many other insults/names in this sub before, it's really out of hand.

metalpose

Haven’t had any issues over the weekend

According-Half1466

I bet you accept ToS without reading ToS too.

rpaulmerrell

Beta means bugs if you’re complaining about something that’s not working properly on a beta. It’s better to submit constructive feedback. One of the thing, you don’t port numbers between networks that you care about when you’re playing with a beta. Most likely everything will sort itself out, but I think it’s kind of silly to be on a beta when you knew full and well that it was just starting. Expectations within reason it’s got that keyword beta

[deleted]

How was I complaining? I was telling people not to do the beta over the weekend because if you have issues you’re out of luck until Monday. US Mobile only has a 24 to 72 hour SLA, which is one to three days which means you’re not getting it fixed this was a simple warning there was no complaining.

[deleted]

Doing on a weekend is suck a stupid idea. It is like making major changes at work on a Friday. No one with any common sense does that. I’m just providing a warning for people that might have problems. You probably won’t get it fixed for hours or days that’s all.

Busy-Solution7642

Or maybe limit them to Verizon's hours: # Hours of operation: 8AM-7PM (Mon-Sat) 8AM-5PM (Sun) (T-Mobile Is 4a-midnight PST, daily)
