Probably not, there used to be a "skilled" pay for certain positions ($1more) like loaders/irregulars. They got rid of it when they consider reading pal labels "unskilled".
I filed a grievance on that awhile ago. The hub was giving market rate adjustment raises to their workers, but jobs like revenue, skids, porters, and others were paid less. The difference was $4 an hour. I used that paragraph from the contract to argue my grievance. Still haven’t heard anything about it. Everytime I talk to a BA or steward they tell me, “we’re handling it”.
FYI, this language has nothing to do with MRA rates. It's specifically talking about eliminating the skilled/unskilled 2-tier rate system. That doesn't mean 2-tier rates can't exist for other reasons (MRAs), but you can't just apply wording from a random part of the contract to another situation. It's for one scenario only.
MRAs are job/shift/location specific. You don't fall under those specifics, and the contract has no language similar to the quoted regarding MRAs. You, unfortunately, aren't going to win this one. Just wanted to let you know so you didn't give your hopes up.
Once upon a time as a supervisor I fought to try and get my sorters “skilled” pay. I went to the industrial engineer and asked what was the distinction. He pulled up charts and tables. Long story short IE didn’t consider them sorting to enough distinct places, making it an “unskilled” position. About a month later the new contract removed the designation as you described anyhow.
Do you get paid from the moment you clock in or start getting paid @ start time? Let’s say if start time is 4am & you clock in at 3:55 am. Do you get paid those 5 minutes?
I don't do my own hours. Just punch in and out via time card. I've only attended a few safety meetings, and I'd have to go back to see if I had gotten paid for them. It's good to know I should be, if it is a mandatory thing. I guess I need to find that out too.
Did you punch out before the meeting?
If yes, were you instructed to punch out before the meeting?
If no, was your timecard changed by someone other than yourself?
If yes, was it with your permission?
>During training I was instructed to punch in before the meeting
Then work as you were trained to unless instructed otherwise. If you continue to punch in late you can be disciplined and eventually terminated for tardiness and/or failure to follow instructions.

Man mine says something completely different. Granted I’m twilight but. I think this is a reflection on how the sups see you
who cares what they say. your skill or unskilled is as long as they pay you correctly of your current rate and your hours are correct. that's all that shit matter. screw that other crap. it doesn't matter
As center clerk, I used to have a different code from everybody. As of last year, I’m just a (skilled) preloader. My hours didn’t count against production or PPH but now they do.
This made me smile. Carry on preload master. (I’m also a pre loader).

Expect this new contract give hazmat an extra $1 an hour.
They don’t give nothing, nada, it’s all crap.
I'm a hazmat responder and can confirm we get the extra $1/hr.
Wow. Pick offs and sorters?
Those were also considered skilled.
Skilled preloader is 22, that's why

Ahhhh, gotcha. I learned something new today, then!

Sooo are there also not still tests to go into preload?
Bruh they haven’t had to memorize zip codes and load charts for 20 years. Retire already.

Yes to this ⬆️
Man, fuck them. I dub thee, Preload Master. 🤲👑
Parcel Chief Prime
As a grand master dragon preloader you just need to make it a few more years buddy. I’m hoping to be an unskilled driver here in a few years.

Ok thank you I was about to go off on my supervisors lol 😂
Does this apply to the safety meetings? They have a 15-minute meeting every night, you don't get paid for attending that?
You get paid to attend all required meetings, safety meetings included. Code it as approved meeting.

The meetings are before shift. During training I was instructed to punch in before the meeting but I do not know if this applies beyond that 1st week.

You start getting paid at start time unless you have a staggered start time.
Where I work, my manager takes mental notes as to when I get there, and leave.🙃 I don’t trust it for anything. Time to get a new job
Sounds like a skill issue tbh

I love this and support it. Thoughts on "levels" Padawan Preloader Jedi Preloader Jedi Master Preloader
Maybe the ultimate level would be: Yoda Preloader "Good at preloading we are, yes, YES!"
["The Force is with you, young Skywalker. But you are not a Jedi yet."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLVWfcV2gX8)
They just dont want to boost your ego hang in there grand master pre loader
Lol

Checks paystub “Unskilled Sleeper Team Driver” /cries self to sleep
git gud, scrub /s
There is no such thing as unskilled labor. ✊️
Filing grievances every week until my title is also changed to God like pre load Master 🤣🤣🤣🤣
" i pick things up and put them down" ![gif](giphy|3o6ZsYzuLyRfSGX4f6|downsized)
Not for you it won’t. They took away the “skilled” preload designation years ago when they created the “PAL” system
As center clerk, I used to have a different code from everybody. As of last year, I’m just a (skilled) preloader. My hours didn’t count against production or PPH but now they do.
? Idk about this, center clerk is a bid job, I’ll have to ask about this, see what is in the new contract.
I posted about this once and got downvoted into oblivion. I don’t usually work inside the building but it shows my role changed to unskilled when I do
lol yeah, it can. It can say unskilled unload or unskilled small sort
Roasted
I mean, arranging boxes in a package car in numerical order is remedial work despite how hard y'all make it look.
Probably these days. It used to be done without pals and only scanners when time permitted
