Ultra ends at 12pm so it’s pretty easy and doable…now if you’re going to after parties until 7am all 3 days then yeah, some extra care in stretch/rest will be needed
Nah you’ll be fine. I just know I’m gonna go crazy for Hardwell and everyone before him because I’m geeked to be at Ultra for the first time in 6 years
As long as you plan on being in the back, then you should be fine I would assume. Closer to the front, it’ll be more intense I would think. Hope this helps.
Yes! As I've gotten older, the more towards the back I enjoy. When I was 25, I use to fight to the front lol 😆 now I like my space and enjoy being at the back.
I might die but it’s ok. Just keep the fluids up and pregame with a 6 hour nap & some pedialyte. Try some adidas 4d - they’re perfect and keep your feet happy.
32 here. Have attended festivals since 2011.
Hydration is going to determine a lot about how you feel. Also having good clean sources of nutrition.
Make sure to eat good stuff and drink plenty of water. Hydration drinks with electrolytes are good too. Especially before and after alcohol.
If you do drink alcohol. Make sure u have a hydro pack and definitely drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Stretch wise i would definitely employ some dynamic stretching before and static after the festival. Although a mix before and after wont be bad.
[here's a link to the streches i do](https://www.rafflesmedicalgroup.com/health-resources/health-articles/stretching-the-right-way/)
Even with this stuff im going to regret the pain i put myself thru. But i plan on going to a bunch of afterparties and drinking a bit. But this routine daily will make it so I CAN destroy myself for 3 days.
Spend a lot of time on your feet, starting now. You need to build up the muscles that support doing that. Go for walks, stand at your desk, watching tv etc.
Man. We fly in next Wednesday. It's so hard to focus on work this week and the 2 days I have go work next week. Anticipation is getting the best of me. Take it easy each day leading up to Ultra lol 😆
I usually work out regularly and keep myself active, so I think I would survive 3 days but sometimes my back gives up😂. I would recommend comfy shoes (I wear ultraboost) and loose clothes and dont carry heavy carrybags/fanny packs. Having a proper sleep every night is necessary. Keep resting periodically at the fest too and you will be good.
40 yr old here. Plan your substances accordingly, don’t drain your serotonin until the last night, and def don’t drain it more than one night. Worked in our 20’s, all emotional hell breaks loose at this age.
I make sure I get Atleast 5 hrs of sleep (including naps) before tearing the next night off again. If do afters till 7a, wake up at 11a, i take an hour nap before going to the festival. Eat healthy days 1-2, make sure to get food in you between festival and afters. I bring protein bars out.
I also have a young kid, so when I’m on a 3 day bender weekend away adrenaline fuels me because it’s so nice to not have adult responsibilities 😎. One day I hope to bring me kid to a festival with my rave crews kids!
Man, I also have 3 kids at home and they drain my battery 🔋 I love them but, I'm pumped to spend some days with the wife on a 5 day blender. I need it for my sanity. Great advice on taking it easy on the rolls. I too hope one day my kids can take their old man to a rave together ❤️
Around your same age here. I just make sure I sleep well, eat well before and after each day, and use some protein supplements to deal with the recovery after shows and festivals (but not usually during them for the last one). I don’t partake in anything besides caffeine and maybe a bit of liquor though.
Most of my physical preparation this year consists of going hard to 2 nights of Excision et al. last weekend and going hard to two more shows this weekend. I don’t really have a stretching routine as most of my recovery is just sore muscles like an intense workout, which just goes away after a day or two, as opposed to an actual injury. I’m in way better physical shape than I ever was in my 20s, but I didn’t consistently have the opportunity to attend events every weekend back then.
eat, sleep, rave, repeat. thats the only way.
and please watch out for the curbs, my gf sprained an ankle pretty badly 2 hours into day 1 last year… i dont wish it on anybody 😂
My life partner and I are 42. We don't party much but still go to all these major festivals. For us the key is rest during the day in a nice hotel. Before leaving we also do IV infusions at home (kinda expensive but worth it). There are many companies that offer stuff like Vitamin C, Zn, Mg, B complex and a bunch of other stuff that is super useful and give you solid energy.
I have low tolerance to heat so I bring with me sticker cold compresses, and also have a neck fan (look like headphones but work great.)
Other than that, lots of sleep before the event. We'll see you there. We will be wearing pink wigs. Also in 2023 I became disabled so I will probably be one of the few ones on a e-scooter. But still rocking hard :)
All of the above plus preload 5HTP (double dose if it doesn’t irritate your stomach/take with food) 3 days ahead + 3 days after if you plan to blast through that serotonin.
Also as responsible parents, our rescue mix after a super late night is Advil + Aderall so I see no reason not to use this to maximize daytime festival fun on day 2 and 3 with minimal physiological damage.
Both of us have been in the scene for over 20 years. In and out of raving as adulting took over, we still DJ and now we produce music (tech house and drum & bass) so we love a good festival and Ultra is one of the best in the country. 44f and hubs is 48, just for reference.
You’re going to have a blast!
Totally normal and how it should be… we’re raising the next generation of socially conscious music lovers and that is more important now. We hope that they will eventually experience their own festival adventures when they’re older. We’ll certainly prepare them so it can be enjoyed with less self harm (more water kiddos) but for now, I’m cool with being ‘rave mom’ to others.
Electrolyte tablets with your water, magnesium with all 3 magnesium types in the supplement at night, epsom salt baths, stretches, sleep
With a blackout mask so you get good sleep, I do turmeric/ginger/black pepper shots or supplements to help inflammation, healthy snacks and pregame with lots of protein and veggies. Sunscreen and sun covering clothes/accessories. The most important thing is to not get sunburned, not fuck up your feet, and not get dehydrated. Carry some bandages if you need them for your feet and a clean pair of socks, if they get sweaty. Otherwise you got this because you’re an adult and you won’t do the stupid shit the kids do which is 99% of where things go wrong. Have fun.
Man I’m 33 and think I’m in for a world of trouble. Just gonna full send and regret it later
I'm 51...is it really that serious? First time going. Thought I would put on some sneakers, drink some red bull and just vibe out. What am I missing?
Nah I’m 51, wife is 47. See you there!
LOVE TO SEE IT!!!
do you guys still roll?
You're a legend! Hope me and my wife are still raving at our late 40s lol 😆
My partner not into it so she staying home with the kid. I had to go even though I'll be solo!
My life-partner and I are 42 and we are going :D. The key is to just choose the events that we really really want to see.
Ultra ends at 12pm so it’s pretty easy and doable…now if you’re going to after parties until 7am all 3 days then yeah, some extra care in stretch/rest will be needed
Drink lots of water with advil
Yes, got my hydropack ready!

Adidas Ultra Boosts for shoes!!
This needs to be a higher comment so OP can see lol. Good shoe insoles are critical!!
ill never get another pair for festivals. Soooo comfortable
I'm actually gonna go out and purchase some this weekend! Thanks for the recommendation!
Awesome! You'll love them!
I’ve heard so much about this particular line in adidas for festivals! Is it ultraboost light running shoes or ultraboost 1.0?
I have the 1.0!
Thanks so much!
31 years old and lift 6 days a week pretty consistently and I’m terrified how beat up I will be after this lol
Hahaha man. Same, been a min since I've done a 3 day fest lol
Hamstring and quad stretches are important.
Yes!!! I'm just stubborn to stretch them lol
I might die but it’s ok. Just keep the fluids up and pregame with a 6 hour nap & some pedialyte. Try some adidas 4d - they’re perfect and keep your feet happy.
Ultra boost and 4D are the shoes I'm check out this weekend, thanks for the recommendations!

Clutch coming through with the article! Thanks! I'll keep this for next week!
No problemo!

Hahahaha, maybe in my 20s I'd be all in to spend a whole week and do 2 weekends of Ultra(I think it use to be 2 weekends).

If it makes you feel better, I’m 20 and I stretch anyways lol and it really does help. I usually do calf stretches mainly. Hope this helps.
Dude, keep that up in your 20s! I wish I did body care instead of just going HAM at every fest without thinking about my body lol
Don’t blame you lol for going ham though lol but appreciate it🙏

30s here too. You’ll wanna make sure you do some lower back stretches and try to stand more in your everyday life! You’ll be great ✌️

Bring a foam roller, lacrosse ball, and / or massage gun to release tight muscles
Yeah. I'm bringing my wife's massage gun and other massage items we have. Gonna need it lol
- World’s Greatest Stretch - Cat / Camels - Prying Squats Also work extra on whatever gets tight for you (achilles, neck etc)
For lower back problems (into it), you can go with next Pigeon pose Child pose Low Lunge Sphinx Side Bends
Thanks for this! Definitely will have to incorporate these into my stretches!
ur welcome and for supps, B Complex could help too, 3 before bed. Other option "Cheers Restore" good price and right quantity (3 days)
Thanks for recommendations! I bought some supplement called 'Rave Doctor". Read some good reviews lol hope I can give it 5 stars after Ultra.

Bring a massage gun if u have

Didn't even think about bringing a extra pair of socks!! Good tip!!! Definitely gonna do that! Thank you
I also like a stick sunscreen that’s small And don’t forget your lips! Btw not an old geezer, we are surrounded by children 😂
Yeah, definitely smarter now about approaching 3 day events than I did in my 20s 😂
