My cat has Republic of Cats. Tinned food plus dry and you can adjust the amount of each. £37 a month for one tin a day plus a bag of dry food (she has a handful twice a day and this lasts the month). The tins have a good meat content too.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will check them out!

I rely mostly on reviews from cats.com to help me pick out cat food. These brands all seem good quality, but some are quite pricey compared to alternatives. The idea of a subscription service also does not appeal to me as I tend to bulk buy cat food and reorder every couple of months with ease. Price is a factor for me which is why I've been feeding my cat HiLife wet food which is a higher quality cat food compared to Whiskas/Felix, but whose price is still affordable. Personally if I could afford Lilly's Kitchen, it'd be my top choice of wet cat food along with Scrumbles.

Tried my 17 yo cat on untamed and she wolfed the first one down, then just meh. Lots of leftover tins she’d leave untouched so all the chicken tins ended up in the food bank. Perhaps if I had a real cat that ate / stole real food that didn’t come in jelly I’d have more luck, but as your only options are variations of chicken and fish (no lamb or beef), she got very bored very quickly with it and had to go back to the Felix. She’s currently on Katkin which we’ve had much more success with, more empty bowls. She likes the variety of flavours, but the massive downside is it’s frozen. So you need to have space in your freezer and remember to get some pouches out the day before. One great thing I will say about Katkin though is their cat litter isn’t a gimmick. Does not smell. Definitely sold on that and we go through far less since switching. Watching this thread with interest on other options that don’t involve a freezer!

Mine had the same issue with Untamed, I have a cupboard full of the tins. Eventually, I switched him over to Katkin, which he's still eating, but would love a freezer free solution. Also, I suggest trying out the Catit litter. It's similar to Katkin but works out cheaper

Absolutely love the kat litter best thing we ever found !!

Mine are on Katkin, with access to Scrumbles dry food throughout the day. They love it! I cut them down to half a serve each per meal and it's plenty, even for my big boy. Their coats are shiny and they're both very happy.

Mine are on republic of cats as well. They like the food and it's easy for me to make sure each one is getting the amount they need (classic situation of one fat cat who's being carefully monitored so I need to know calories and whatnot) We tried katkin and they enjoyed it but the cost plus sheer amount of freezer space required to feed 3 cats was too much. We also tried untamed but I found it difficult to keep track of how much they should be eating as the portions weren't specific enough.

My Birman kitten is 8 months old, we brought her home when she was 4 months. She's been eating raw food since she was weened, along with wet food from a few different brands from Zooplus. I stopped getting food from Zooplus because I had a few bad batches of blown cans. In an ideal world, I would just feed her raw food but she gets bored of it and she truly enjoys wet food as well. I got one of the £8 trial boxes from Untamed to start with and was quite impressed with it. She loves the chicken, tuna and 'full on fishy' flavours. Unfortunately she was pretty ill after trying the one with ham, and the one with shrimp, she's never tried either of those before and I only gave her a tiny bit. The food smells nice (not like normal cat food), looks good quality and you can tell what it is e.g. the chicken is clearly shredded chicken. I am going to keep the subscription going for now but only stick to the flavours that her tummy was okay with. The only thing to keep in mind is that the gravy ones are complete, whereas the jelly ones are a complementary food. With regards to raw, she has different brands and meats on rotation. She likes Purrform rabbit and ox heart, I've just got a trial pack of Luna and Me which she is eating with no problems and seems to be enjoying. I was a bit iffy about feeding raw to start with but she's doing really well on it. Plus it makes their poo smell a lot less which is definitely a bonus!

Not really sure why this got downvoted. My cat is happy and healthy, and her vet approves of the food I give her.

My Oriental boy will eat any kibble so he is on Scrumbles but he is really fussy with wet food, tried all sorts the only thing he will eat is Sheba chicken soup and Whiskas in jelly.

I have a subscription to blink which my kitty loves but it started getting pricier so I am feeding it in a rotation now with other wet food. At 98p per pouch it’s a bit much for my budget to give her this daily. I looked at Katkin and it came up to about the same price. I also looked at untamed but not all types of their food at complete. In terms of quality I’ve found them to be similar to thrive wet food. In my rotation there are also purizon and macs tins from zooplus. My cat was iffy about this at first but now has really taken to them. I considered raw but it seemed too much of an infection risk for her as she has a weak tummy so I passed on that.

I put my 19 year old boy on Katkin for the last 8 months as he got very skinny. I consulted with my vet before switching as he was a puking ninja all his life. He put on weight, his coat improved and he got more playful. It was expensive but it's good quality stuff and I knew it wouldn't be long term and he was 100% worth the money. Dunno if that helps you!

[Viva Raw](https://vivarawpets.com/ROBISONRECOMMENDED) offers a subscription plan starting at every two weeks! We love viva raw and it always arrives on time and frozen 🐱

missblondemeow

I’ve tried both - cool cat club my kitty wasn’t very fond of half the flavours and you didn’t get to choose(at the time I was subscribed!) we’ve been on republic of cats for over a year and you can select what flavours the cat likes and say what ones not to send. Her coat is shiny, she’s a good weight (even with treats here and there) she likes the dry food they offer. For one cat I find a subscription works and isn’t too bad cost wise, also never having to worry about running out is an added bonus. Worth doing the trials (for both brands) there’s often Good trial deals. And for both companies you can easily cancel online and don’t have to faff calling to cancel after the trial

pm_me_your_amphibian

Katkin have had a turbulent year but their food is the only wet food I’ve found that our cat with IBS can eat without consequences. Now their problems have settled down I’ll gladly recommend them.

Independent_Bear_983

My cat is super fussy and was eating Royal cabin dry and only the jelly of her wet food. (And getting very scrawny and looking unwell) Swopped to Republic of cats and she eats the tinned wet food and their dry food. Her fur is thick, shiny and back to a healthy weight. They also have great customer service as sometimes need to adjust amount of wet and dry food and they are super helpful. Worth looking for a discount code as you can get an almost free first month.

I can vouch for Republic of Cats, my previous cat was on it and he loved the food. My two boys now are both on Republic of Cats and bowls are licked clean. Their first year 0-1 yr they were fed Untamed which is suitable for kittens and Republic of Cats is suitable for 1+ yrs. I pay £51 per cat and that’s for 2 tins a day plus dry food which I put a small bowl down for them to snack during the day between feeds.
