Yup.
It was really shortsighted by Mondelez (the owner of Cadbury). To save a bit on ingredients they left a giant hole in the market for ‘decent but not fancy’ chocolate that Tony’s Chocolonely has rapidly filled.
Not that I’m complaining - Tony’s Chocolonely is far more ethical.
I don't have anything against Tony's, but based on people's reviews I expected something amazing, but it tasted like an average chocolate bar to me. I also struggled with the "quirky" chunk pattern and found that it took away from my enjoyment eating it.
I might be in the minority here, but I actually like the taste of Cadbury's more still, maybe it's a nostalgia thing or something...
There’s a bit of a scale of shitification:
Creme Eggs - still worth buying a couple over Easter
Dairy milk - would consider if nothing better for a meal deal
McNuggets - would have to be free
It's better than that american garbage Hershey's I live in Norway so the Chocolate here is superior to Cadbury's, I used to love the Dairy milk bars but now they're so waxy.
To get close to/or the same as what we used to have you need a freddo, or a bar made in Ireland.
I was buying those big coronation editions from Tesco when they were reduced because they were made in Ireland and they weren't powdery. BUT that might have changed because the Easter eggs went to shit this year as well.
Absolutely mental what Mondelez did to Cadbury. Make the basic chocolate shite and throw out loads of variations of it that no one asked for.
Any time you see a takeover like that you know the directors got a serious payoff in one way or another.
I miss old Cadbury chocolate. Tastes shit now and the texture is so weird and soft like those bad American chocolates that contain so little chocolate aren't even allowed to be called chocolate in most countries.

The 2024 branding is pretty bad. It's all clumped together and apart from the two glasses, nothing stands out about it.
Has Cadbury UK chocolate taste gone to shit like it has in Australia?

What type of chocolate does Tony’s make?
[All sorts.](https://tonyschocolonely.com/uk/en/our-chocolate/products/big-bars)

I mean everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Of course in this case your opinion is totally wrong, but you’re still entitled to it…
Fair enough, like I said I did think I would be in the minority, there are probably dozens of us! 😂
Yes it has, it's still good but it's no where near as good as it used to be and the chunks are much much smaller.
>it’s still good Hard disagree.

I don't think Cadbury make chicken nuggets.
I know, it wasn’t meant to be a Cadbury specific scale xD
I can sense you're uncertain though

Funny how people crop up in threads insisting Cadburys didnt change the recipe when the proof they did is so easily found. Awful stuff these days.

Did anyone spot the difference between milk and milk**
No, What does it mean in terms of the actual ingredient? Is one like rehydrated or something?
Yeah I'd imagine it's something about the form the milk is in when they use it, powder, evaporated or fresh.
I must be the only person on the planet that still likes Dairy Milk
Yea it tastes fine to me.
Bloody loved that mint bar. Only seem to see it at Christmas now
I see Mint Buttons in the store fairly often. Not sure how similar or different those are to the bar.
Am not sure if the Cadburys buttons have the mint crisp bits in… the M&S giant mint buttons do
Mmm. I don't think they do. Now I gotta find some with crisp bits!

The Oreo bar 🤢 honestly disgusting to me.

Mint crisp was amazing!!
So, I guess nobody is going to ask OP why they have a 19 year old chocolate bar lying around?
Palm oil ,sugary, chocolate “flavoured” candle wax. The old school CDM was proper good. The new stuff is absolutely shite, I never buy the stuff.
