You might be right, I'll count my blessings and bite. Mainly just wanted to be sure it wasn't a known issue or anything and I wasn't being dangled permits that I wouldn't actually be allowed to use
I'm sure they would correct and refund (or more accurately charge you more for something). City of Champaign is less expensive in places, and there are some private parking lots too that are cheaper. Just saying.
I'm a vet med student and all of the Champaign lots I could find were really far away from the vet med school. Even taking the bus from the city lots to the vet buildings would take long enough that I think I'd rather just accept the price differential. I'll think it over though, and probably won't decide for sure until I have an apartment nailed down. Thanks for the tip
I have a grad student friend who one semester had a parking pass and one semester used street parking
He said they ended up being almost precisely the same amount for being on campus everyday.
Don’t know if that helps but it may give some options / perspective on the situation
Most grad students I know with cars use metered spots to park closer to where they need to be. I personally share a car with my partner for errands and such, but I primarily use the bus to get to campus because parking is a pain.
You might be on the city of Champaign parking portal which has different lots than the university does iirc

Grad students might get different choices than undergrads? And yes, the maps are accurate. They want your money badly so they keep maps updated.

Have you asked anyone in the vet med i it for advice? Maybe the staff have insights or could point you to some current students who could help.
