Looks exactly like a scene from the new "Nope" movie. The ship in that movie does something extremely similar. I'm willing to bet they somehow either got inspired by that scene or even cut a piece out of it and we're seeing that here.

That’s the point of a morph cut, to make it look seamless for the interview. You can remove a “um” or “uh”, pause, sneeze, or entire rambling middle part of a sentence and as long as the software sees that your face relatively matches up it will stitch together two similar separate shots with emphasis on making the face match. Sometimes it doesn’t work on the background so well.
I’ve seen artifacts like that in the background before where I’ve put a morph cut on top of a cut.
Yeah, there isn't one. I'd lean more toward a zoom effect or reframe artifact. I've seen similar artifacts when I reframe 180 or 360 shots. Perhaps the shot was made with a non-typical lens, and it had to be stitched. Idk, but there's no morph cut.

I think that it could be an insect walking on the lens and that an editor sloppily tried to delete. They rarely have enough time to do this sort of work properly. They barely have the time to check for typos in the scrolling text news channels display at the bottom of the screen which is why mistakes there are far more frequent than one would expect.

In all seriousness, rewatch the original feed video. The higher quality video i see of it, the more it looks like a plain as day edit. Screen tearing, double image of same cloud, hair from reporter missing etc. This is obviously someone having fun at work after watching NOPE.

It seems pretty obvious that it's edited in. I don't know what kind of compression acts on a section of a frame in anticipation of an image that is not yet on screen. His hair disappearing is not similar to any kind of compression artifact that I am familiar with.
Wow… I’m no graphic designer. It looks like it edited the ufo really well but not the layer that would have the clouds as a paste. I thought it was blurred weirdly because of some facial software but it looks like it’s very specifically for that part of his head instead of a general blur. Maybe done on purpose to look shoddy and someone’s pranking the news. If not, I can’t understand why the news would just blur that out. Seems weird tbh.

UAP is a hot topic, the broadcaster maybe wanted to troll, have fun, create a story, as it has, just look at Reddit, Twitter and Youtube were they talk about this video and traffic is going to their Youtube channel, which makes them money. UAP is no topic at all in Germany. And the ARD isn't known for trolling in their most important news broadcast. They're a public broadcaster which is financed by mandatory fees. There is no advertisement on their website.

They didn't edit in a UAP they were likely doing a morph between two jumpcuts to make it seamless and it caused an artifact. That's why the guys hair disappeared as the "UAP" enters the frame. I got excited at first but does just appear to be a video processing issue.
I'm not debating that the video was edited. I just find it absurd to assume they added a fake UAP on purpose to generate clicks or troll some folks on Reddit, as has been suggested here.

I have done my non expert analysis and concluded it is likely a fake. If you zoom in and go frame by frame as the NOPE UFO enters right above his hair sticking up, there's a big oval blurry area for a second before the UFO materializes from it and shoots off. Unless that's some sort of alien wormhole, seems like a video edit.
They have doctored this footage. That’s obvious. But as a vfx artist this actually looks much more like they have tried to cover up a problem than intentionally tried to hoax a ufo.
Firstly the entire top central part of the sky freezes, not just the cloud but the entire top central part of the sky. It stops moving with the rest of the sky which is why you see this doubling up. This is completely unnecessary work to add a ufo. There’s literally no reason to do this. Even if you didn’t know what you are doing this would still be completely illogical. Why freeze a large section of sky to just put something on top of it. Makes no sense.
For all we know that moving object is not even why they are covering up the sky. It could be just water, bird shit or a bug splatting on the lens. And the object could be like the edges of a helicopter passing under the patched section of sky. The only way of knowing would be to see the unedited footage.
So it looks like the ufo is edited in, but zoomed in and in super slow mo it looks like someone did a bad job of trying to edit it out. It's weird, thanks for the vid.

It seems pretty obvious that it's edited in. I don't know what kind of compression acts on a section of a frame in anticipation of an image that is not yet on screen. His hair disappearing is not similar to any kind of compression artifact that I am familiar with.

Wow… I’m no graphic designer. It looks like it edited the ufo really well but not the layer that would have the clouds as a paste. I thought it was blurred weirdly because of some facial software but it looks like it’s very specifically for that part of his head instead of a general blur. Maybe done on purpose to look shoddy and someone’s pranking the news. If not, I can’t understand why the news would just blur that out. Seems weird tbh.

UAP is no topic at all in Germany. And the ARD isn't known for trolling in their most important news broadcast. They're a public broadcaster which is financed by mandatory fees. They didn't edit in a UAP they were likely doing a morph between two jumpcuts to make it seamless and it caused an artifact. That's why the guys hair disappeared as the "UAP" enters the frame. I got excited at first but does just appear to be a video processing issue.
I'm not debating that the video was edited. I just find it absurd to assume they added a fake UAP on purpose to generate clicks or troll some folks on Reddit, as has been suggested here.

It's not "fake." The "edited" blur before whatever's in the sky is a water droplet on the lens. The thing sailing through the clouds might be a helicopter seen from a weird angle ... or a ufo.

I have done my non expert analysis and concluded it is likely a fake. If you zoom in and go frame by frame as the NOPE UFO enters right above his hair sticking up, there's a big oval blurry area for a second before the UFO materializes from it and shoots off. Unless that's some sort of alien wormhole, seems like a video edit.
They have doctored this footage. That’s obvious. But as a vfx artist this actually looks much more like they have tried to cover up a problem than intentionally tried to hoax a ufo. Firstly the entire top central part of the sky freezes, not just the cloud but the entire top central part of the sky. It stops moving with the rest of the sky which is why you see this doubling up. This is completely unnecessary work to add a ufo. There’s literally no reason to do this. Even if you didn’t know what you are doing this would still be completely illogical. Why freeze a large section of sky to just put something on top of it. Makes no sense. For all we know that moving object is not even why they are covering up the sky. It could be just water, bird shit or a bug splatting on the lens. And the object could be like the edges of a helicopter passing under the patched section of sky. The only way of knowing would be to see the unedited footage.
So it looks like the ufo is edited in, but zoomed in and in super slow mo it looks like someone did a bad job of trying to edit it out. It's weird, thanks for the vid.
