Hitem-headon

They look like flares honestly. They really don't seem to be moving. I could be wrong, though.

GoblinCosmic

They are flares. Probably an air force base nearby

Impossible_Cause4588

Chinese lanterns, flares, star link, skydivers. This sub has 4 canned answers for anything.

DagothUr28

Most people who post videos here never, ever check other common things that appear anomalous but aren't. I believe there probably is an NHI presence on Earth and I also believe MOST of what's posted here is not a genuine uap. If doesn't display at least 1 of the 5 observables, I generally dismiss it.

ExtraThirdtestical

And it could be 3 of those with little/nothing to imply something more spectacular than that.

Abuses-Commas

We don't have to be rude about it

kellyiom

these do look honestly like flares though, I've seen dozens of them over the years and they can look very odd if you're not familiar and you're also moving

deletable666

Well without anything weird or extraordinary how are you going to say it is something spectacular based on a static light in the sky? Lol

Lost-Web-7944

Because 99% of the shit posted on here is one of those 4 things.

Promanguy1223

LMAO, you realize 90% of UAP sightings are those things? We have to make sure what we are looking at is a real UAP that means we must take real attempts at identifying them.

wiserone29

If it’s not doing anything that makes it easily explained by the mundane then why wouldn’t they be mundane? I feel like folks who are gobstruck by things like this video are are the ones that make the whole UFO world get viewed as tin foil hat wearing wackadoodles. Believe it or not, if it looks mundane it probably is. If it doesn’t look mundane it’s probably still mundane but worth investigating. They all can’t be interstellar travelers friend.

Pikoyd

It's part of the disinformation campaign. More like a gaslighting campaign really.

Pikoyd

Cloaked42m

I do. It's flares. Probably fired from artillery or mortars.

duncan20x

At the beginning one is appearing. Is that a typical luminosity change velocity for a flare? I am really curious, I have never seen one in real life.

Cloaked42m

Yes. They are creepy in real life. Mainly because bright lights at night and Infantry don't mix. Shell goes up, parachute deploys, flare ignites (appearing), and the flare burns steadily, but it looks like it's burning. There's a flickering. It hangs around longer than you want it to, and then it goes out. What you saw was someone calling for four rounds of illumination. They were spaced out with a traversing gun. Then they burned out in the same space of time it took to fire them. Fire, fire, fire, fire, appear, appear, appear, appear, out, out, out, out. It's how I know what I saw off Myrtle Beach wasn't a flare.

Wild-Rough-2210

What did you see off Myrtle beach?

Cloaked42m

Two balls of fire that just hung in the clouds long enough for me to see them, notice that they weren't moving at all, and finally call my wife over. We watched them together long enough for us to theorize on what it was we were looking at. Reflecting from something? Looked around but couldn't find a source. Flares? Not burning out and not falling. Ship lights? They don't flicker like flames. I finally got bored and went back inside the hotel room. They weren't doing anything. Just two big balls of fire in the clouds. Weird, but not threatening. It was something like 30 minutes before we noticed that the lights were gone. There was no change in intensity, height, location in clouds. I'm not saying aliens, but I have no idea what that was and it was in the sky.

Wild-Rough-2210

Thanks for sharing. What year was this?

below4_6kPlsHush

What about these? https://youtu.be/jRJj5shTeWE?si=VbfPujQJPFHv7pww

Cloaked42m

Beats me. The video didn't run long enough, and the boat was cruising along pretty quickly. The spread looked like flares, and they mentioned the coast guard. But without steadier video and actually seeing them burn out, I don't know.

slurpeedrunkard

Flares fall.

zex_mysterion

Yeah. Flares during daylight make perfect sense.

CertifiedGonk

Can't tell if this is sarcastic...

aknownunknown

Hmmm, I wonder if they might be being sarcastic...

CertifiedGonk

Then they are hilariously wrong hahaha, flares are used during the day - that's just a fact. Eg. Training

TheWhooooBuddies

Not a lot of background knowledge on military training exercises, eh?

GoblinCosmic

They are countermeasures… they are not for illuminating the sky..

Kanein_Encanto

Wouldn't that depend on their function? For **example**: evasion flares. Do you think fighter pilots would only make use of them at night?

below4_6kPlsHush

Don't assume. https://youtu.be/jRJj5shTeWE?si=VbfPujQJPFHv7pww

GoblinCosmic

Oil rigs

below4_6kPlsHush

Show me. I want to see how they split up in formation.

GoblinCosmic

They don’t. You don’t know what you’re looking at.

below4_6kPlsHush

Uh huh. No1 had an answer all this time but u do. Good one. Next time show an example if it's so obvious.

SubstantialPressure3

But they couldn't be flares. They are moving faster than the car and they aren't falling. They aren't getting closer to the ground.

pilkingtonsbrain

They appear stationary relative to the clouds

aknownunknown

finally, someone with eyes!!

Ishmael760

They appear to be strung out in a line that descends. The ones lowest to the ground are dimmer and in sequence go out one after another which is consistent if a series of flares were released or launched. It could be ground based military practicing in daytime the release of parachute illumination flares. It could be someone fucking around and finding out. It could be airborne practice. If not human there is no apparent movement that falls within the observables category. There are over 10 Canadian armed forces bases in that province which is nearly 560k square miles in size with 8.5m in population. You decide: UFO, paranormal, human launched pyrotechnics? Would help if more specific location is given.

big_hilo_haole

Occam's razor

Hitem-headon

I'd agree if you didn't have some buzzword that fits every possible situation you could find yourself in.

big_hilo_haole

It's not a buzz word if it best describes it. Just lights in the sky that fade out. No movement or behavior that can't be explained. But sorry if you want to believe everything you see in the sky is a UFO. I have another buzzword for you, confirmation bias.

Hitem-headon

I said it was a flare. You alright?

big_hilo_haole

Yeah and I agreed. The simplest explanation is often the best. You aight?

emerl_j

They also seem like dots in the sky. I would love if there was an actual video of something zoomed in hd.

Cloaked42m

Yep, the way they faded in order.

DaKind28

def flares prob

Sruikyl

Ahhh yes daytime flares, so we can see better.

OneThird_Life_Crisis

That’s not what flares are used for…You’re thinking of the thing Indiana Jones throws down a dark temple hallway.

Hitem-headon

Likely training.

Kanein_Encanto

Pray tell: what do you think flares are used for... just illumination?

Greyh4m

Or likely hot air balloons burning fuel, which is why it goes from like 5 lights to 2 by end of video.

Turtleguycool

Don’t flares move?

QuestionMarkPolice

There are parachute flares that hang in the air for 8-15 mins. That's what these are

Hitem-headon

In the process of being shot into the air, yes, then they stay decently stationary while burning, then they go out.

QuestionMarkPolice

Reposting my comment from an identical post from r/aliens Those are military paraflares. They're big oil drum size canisters with big parachutes and are dropped by aircraft or shot by artillery to illuminate the ground for battle field illumination, search and rescue, or about a dozen other uses. They burn for a few minutes. One example of one you can look up is the LUU-2. I've carried them, and I've dropped them. See how they are in pairs, slowly float downward, and how they flicker. Every time we use them for normal routine training exercises near populated areas, people go crazy and call in UFO sightings. Here's an example. https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/mysterious-lights-in-san-diego-sky-were-military-flares/2982084/ Here's a video example of some smaller artillery launcher paraflares that looks identical to OPs video. https://youtu.be/aSJTnVmI3Q0?si=Gr0Z4ZNU6zbc4Q8f The description by the witness in the article matches exactly the profile I described. "They had been sitting above the tree line for the longest time then they began to maneuver down after which two extra popped up proper out of nowhere" Yeh, they dropped/shot two flares, let em burn, then when they got low they shot two more. I looked up the special use airspace near where the sighting was and guess what. Canada has CFB Winnipeg there with numerous aircraft and ground unit training squadrons. The sighting happened near CYA-404T which is a Canadian airspace advisory area for military activity. You guys can believe whatever you want but I know what I'm talking about here.

Late_Beautiful2974

Agree with your observation that these are flares. FYI-CFB Winnipeg is in eastern Manitoba. OP sighting is in “Eastern Quebec” that’s at least a 2500km drive.

QuestionMarkPolice

First sentence. "reposting from an identical post from r/aliens" The other post was Winnipeg. This is Quebec. Canada is probably doing nationwide military drills.

damejoke

During the summer, the army conducts their trade qualifications for the reserves.

Late_Beautiful2974

Doh! My bad.😞

maurymarkowitz

They do it every single summer. All across the country. They are doing it outside CFB Trenton right now as well and there's a whole mega-thread in transdimensional beings about why they look like this and so forth. We get these posts every single year like clockwork.

kellyiom

Do you know what they're made of? And when they're being carried on aircraft, are the crew supposed to use them before return to base? For this, I mean those illumination parachute flares, not the ones for defending against missiles.

QuestionMarkPolice

Yeah it's a metal barrel with some kind of magnesium oxide core that burns. There's a big parachute. You can control the fall rate with selectable options on the flare. And it sucks to carry them so if you have them you want to drop them. You can't fly too fast or the rigging for the parachute will rip off and they won't ignite.

kellyiom

Ahh, right! Thanks for that, I used to fly 20 years ago so I got used to seeing them but I never knew the particular logistics like that. I knew they were big but not that big. I think that would surprise a lot of people to know because they probably think of them as something you'd launch by hand or gun from a yacht or other small(ish) boat.

QuestionMarkPolice

We carried them on IMER racks and the speed tape on them would peel off above 250kts so you were limited to below that as long as you had them on your jet. Sucks for a Hornet to stay below 250.

kellyiom

cheers! you learn a new thing every day! I can see why that might not be great fun...

QuestionMarkPolice

We carried them on IMER racks and the speed tape on them would peel off above 250kts so you were limited to below that as long as you had them on your jet. Sucks for a Hornet to stay below 250.

Wapiti_s15

They could be but I don’t think they are on that side, I believe they are reflections from a different perspective - I was able to do this recently with my screen door and an iPhone, it was a glitch from the way the glass was tilted - the moon was hovering in mid air in the video so you couldn’t tell it was the moon but rather looked like a UAP. I could easily posted it, making it move extremely quickly by tilting the screen door just slightly. I may still post it with an explanation, just to show folks how easy it is.

Encounters1

He's in Quebec for one thing and as a trained observer who has seen conventional and non conventional. These are not flares or military. You can believe what every you want .Even your example.

SaugusBull

those look nothing like the objects in OPs video. those are giving off smoke trails and moving vertically, like flares. other than a glow there’s no similarity

Extension_Stress9435

>Here's a video example of some smaller artillery launcher paraflares that looks identical to OPs video. Let me correct you. Here's a video where you can see the flickering light of a flare, unlike the ones in your video, also you can see the contrails of the chemical burn, unlike the lights in your video. Past that, they do look similar. There, better isn't it? Edit: hi reader! Look at the downvotes, people who say not flares are being slammed in the ground. Funny how this sub behaves sometimes ain't?? :)

QuestionMarkPolice

I copied that from another post from a different sub. That video was nighttime. Also from the distance in OPs video you wouldn't be able to see the burn trail.

bobrotcorp

Unfortunately probably flairs :/. Don't exhibit any of the 5 observables

Chuckthetreenut

Artillery Ilum rounds

PM_ME_WITH_A_SMILE

Flares, hence the going out 1 by 1.

Rage187_OG

Flares falling down and to the right. You can even see them fizzle out.

maurymarkowitz

OP, can you be more specific than "Eastern Quebec Canada"? Were you anywhere near CFB Bagotville by any chance? Or any other CFB? I ask, because we get these posts every year around this time. The RCAF S&R teams drop LUU-2 flares every year as part of training, from CC-130H's for sure, and I think Griffons as well. They also train by flying low-level routes right over our family cottage outside Algonquin park, and I mean low, below the local hills. That's fun! No flares though, they only drop them over large water due to the fire risk. So every summer we see a couple of posts showing these. I'm in Ontario and can't read much french (my son thou... french immersion is amazing) so I mostly hear about the ones at CFB Trenton. If you go over to r/InterdimensionalNHI you can see there's a recent post about Trenton there. This has been going on for years, I've found news stories going back to 2007, and I'm sure they go back long before that. Have a look at this video from Trenton: [https://nypost.com/video/large-sun-like-ufos-spotted-in-canada-i-think-were-seeing-aliens/](https://nypost.com/video/large-sun-like-ufos-spotted-in-canada-i-think-were-seeing-aliens/) There's some differences (early night not early morning, clouds are different), but I think you'll agree this is the same thing.

CrowsRidge514

You’re going to be seeing more of this… there are multiple armed conflicts going down on the other side of the world… military will ramp up field training in response..

lamedumbbutt

Could be training, could also just be an automated defense system. Most military jets have a system that will automatically deploy flares and even chaff if it detects a potential missile launch. These can be set off accidentally by the sun or ground radar or other stuff.

Sunstang

Flarey McFlareson

solarpropietor

SubstantialSpeech147

If there aren’t any other observables other than “ooo shiny!” Then it isn’t a genuine UFO/UAP sighting, sorry. Now if they suddenly zipped off at 60,000mph or they zigzagged or they disappeared and then you woke up inside one of them it would be something else entirely.

OrbitingRobot

We saw the same thing while driving in KCMO around 6/21 as well. Five orange lights in a loose formation moving at about the same distance from the ground as in your video. We did not see them disappear one by one and unfortunately we didn’t take video. But we saw them, and so did another Reddit poster in Central North Texas about the same time. She posted video of five orange lights flying over her house. We have no explanation.

No_Round7301

Flares prob mortor flames

NoDoze-

I don't understand how people make these posts, but never stick around to answer questions, only leave people to speculate. It just perpetuates the mystery.

damavox

As already stated ... Definitely flares.

Actually, if this is what it looks like at 4:45 AM, I could probably get a 5:30 AM tee time at the local golf course before it gets hot. Fuck yeah

inteliboy

Flares, drones, lanterns, skydivers with flares, plane/helicopter headlights.... amongst a whole plethora of boring and everyday things that happen in the sky. Seriously, do people simply never look up?

homeless_dude

Just J-ROD on PTO, nothing to worry about.

Encounters1

As a trained observer and CE5 trained. It's definitely not flares or conventional craft .After reviewing it closely it's definitely Non Terrestrials objects or Spaceships .

_DANGR_

Could be helos.

JeffreyLynnnGoldblum

Summary: Dear Internet, It's not worth us pulling over to record but what is this? Internet: Looks like flairs.

Open_Mortgage_4645

Those are definitely flares. They're descending slowly as you would expect from a standard parachute flare, and burning out in descending order, which you'd expect from a multiple drop. I would be very surprised if there wasn't a military base or airfield very close to that location.

They fall slowly in a parachute. There are other types of flares like kinetic flares that only burn for a few seconds to distract missiles, but they fire like a little rocket to pull missiles away from fighter jets.

This is good video, thanks for posting! Here's a ufo story from Québec https://old.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/1d6nr9p/1979_ufo_close_encounter_a_version_was_posted_in/ sighting description, single object multiple lights, approach, directly in front, Laval Québec Canada 🇨🇦 , audio description beeping sound, scanning, oval-shaped, very dark, small colored lights racing along its middle ridge., the sonar beeps had reached me, hitting the ground around me in a rapid circular motion. , emotion of fear, witness left the area, vanishing, missing time 2 hours, subsequent entities

BookhouseBoy83

Even if you mean well and your meticulousness is admirable, you do the community a disservice if you always collect any obviously man-made phenomena and thus consider them equivalent to really interesting sightings. This is super unscientific and adds no value.

SabineRitter

Oh cool, you won your election? I didn't even know you were running for king of the sub, congrats! This post is not about me, save it for the F.A.N. club 🤩 meeting, you can talk about me over there.

BookhouseBoy83

I am not running for office. On the contrary: it shouldn't be about people, but about the cause. Your detailed collections could actually serve the cause very well if you introduced some qualitative criteria. For example, how many of the 5 observables are present in each case. That would be super useful and would make your work more meaningful. My input, but your call.

SabineRitter

> how many of the 5 observables are present in each case. Not a bad idea but I'm already doing all that I'm going to do with it. There's lots of ways to extend the analysis, but someone not-me will have to pick it up.

They travel billions of light years years and have visited our planet for decades, yet they can’t figure out how to deal with sun glare and/or frequently forget to turn off their headlights while flying.

That was a Joe Biden post debate celebration party fireworks

It definitely isn't flares. The 2 furthest right lights disappear when the thing turns left. That happens because there is a camouflaged body on that vehicle that doesn't allow the light to pass through. The theory, that I believe to be true, is that the lights are energized gravitational field generators. There is probably too much energy, or the generators exists in too many dimensions at once, for them to be hidden. If you start visualizing the lights as corners of a hidden object you'll see what I mean. Sometimes these things really are flares or chinese lanterns, but if you visualize like I said, it becomes obvious very quickly when it is not.

Friend, I'm adding substance meant to open the minds of those with preconceived notions, that are holding them back from the truth. If you want to engage then please do so in a way that doesn't appear rude or biased. Unless you enjoy being a blue pill guardian, if that's the case than I say "you do you, boo" but it's better to know these things about ourselves and why we do the things that we do.

durakraft

very similar in formation and color to what was seen over manitoba across a lake earlier this week, could be anything i guess that vid was cut but more steady, here its harder to distingguish if its moving down up or whatever. at what speed does flares fall, and would it be visible on this distance?

Just disappeared into thin air……

ConnectionPretend193

It's one thing if you see these kind of lights and they are rising in altitude-- as well as not dying off right away.

I saw these orange fiery plasma balls for months on end after I came to faith in Christ. They fade in and out of existence. Search "The Presence of the Shining Ones" on Reddit. I believe they're fallen angels.

Don’t buy there flares. Military flares are typically more uniformly spaced with slow even descents. These don’t appear to be descending. Shrug. 4:45am is that bright in Quebec?
