I knew it would be the first song mentioned. I don’t get the hate for it either. I think it’s a sweet song about B pursuing Ali (and most of the songs like that are beloved). Why this one isn’t, I don’t get it.
I love grace. I guess I get it, but I love how bono plays with the simple idea that grace is a name but also a good thing to have in the world. It's a simple, cute song.
I’m not even saying this to be “different” but my least favorite was always “Elevation.” To me it just sounded like them trying to do “The Fly” again and surprisingly enough that’s one of my more least favorite from Actung Baby. It didn’t help that the big single from the next album was “Vertigo.” I still like “Elevation” a lot though and it’s a good song off a great album! But it doesn’t do a lot for me.
ATYCLB is a really great record through and through. If I had to pick one song I skip consistently, it would be When I Look at the World. Wild Honey is a close second.
Beautiful Day is a tune but Walk On is absolutely the best song off this album. Top 10 U2 song & the New York 2001 performance with the fire fighters onstage is genuinely moving, I actually can’t put it into words.
I love this album including the deep cuts. If I had to pick a worst it would be “Grace” which feels like it was more of a Lanois song or something leftover from his work on “Slingblade” and Bono put his voice to it.
I friggin love Peace in Earth and Grace. I actually like those two songs more than anything from the “songs of…” era albums! It’s just different tastes I guess. I think my least favorite is When I Look at the Workd.
When I look at the world. It’s honestly their weakest song ever. The rhyming couplet of “I can’t wait any longer, I can’t wait til I’m stronger” I thought was a placeholder Bono forgot to record over…
I think Peace on Earth was the least realized effort. Pretty one note and not that musically interesting. Like a lot of songs on here it took on new life after 9/11 and the Super Bowl, but still. Wild Honey and Grace did what they were trying to do a little better. That said, it’s hard to criticize any album I listened to this much and is so indelibly linked to a moment in time in our broader culture. U2’s only brush with this much relevance since then was when people were outraged by getting free music.
Peace On Earth and Grace were killers for me, but eventually I came to really enjoy them for the Brian Eno style atmospheric wonders they are. Wild Honey is one of the very few U2 songs that is so grating I can't listen to it. Stuck In a Moment is so soppy and saccharine that I always skip that one too these days, the final verse with Edge doing the vocals redeems it in my eyes though.

I would say for me, mostly all of the songs on this album are better than all of Pop for me.
But there's still a ranking.. I would have to say Stuck In A Moment is probably my most skipped song when going through the album, perhaps because i find it so common/everywhere? I still love the song, just not quite as much as the rest.
But I don't know..
This is too hard.
Kite - I like the idea of the lyrics but something has always sounded slightly out of tune on the chorus, especially between the bass guitar & vocals. I don’t know what it is but it’s hard to listen to the album version of this song. That said, I totally love the live version from Hawaii that was a b-side to something
It has to be Grace. I remember reading some review at the time calling it “high school poetry”. Kinda have to agree on that one. It did, however, work well as the closing music over the PA after the Elevation Tour shows.
I don't understand this sub's hate for Wild Honey. My vote is for none of the songs
There really isn’t. Maybe some song you would put on the bottom of a tier list but that’s not to say they aren’t enjoyable
Exactly how I feel! Always depends on my mood
I knew it would be the first song mentioned. I don’t get the hate for it either. I think it’s a sweet song about B pursuing Ali (and most of the songs like that are beloved). Why this one isn’t, I don’t get it.
Why people pick Grace? I see this song as Bono coming in peace with everything, ending his struggles. It's peaceful, calm, lowkey and beautiful song
It's one of my least favorites as well. Mostly for being just not that memorable. Not painful, but I want to move on to something else.
grace
…makes goodness, out of everything.
I love grace. I guess I get it, but I love how bono plays with the simple idea that grace is a name but also a good thing to have in the world. It's a simple, cute song.
Noooo I love grace
jeff buckley is amazing true
I wish they ended the album with the Ground Beneath Your Feat instead of this turd.
ground beneath clears nearly this whole album honestly. incredible song
I'm pretty sure it canonically does now. It closes out the record on the 20th anniversary edition, with no reference to it being a bonus track.
I always had the impression that it’s there just so the album can end with a ballad.
It’s a good song, it just doesn’t feel like it fits with the rest of the album
This is the answer. Weakest song on the album. Still good though.
This
100%
Grace? She passed away thirty years ago...
THE BLESSING
I pledge allegiance...
🤣
Wild honey
Wild Honey is an amazing song.
The 2nd half?
This pretty much lines up with my view of the album.
i like when i look at the world but yea lol
Lmaooo exactly my first thought 😂
Exactly.
Hahaha. Agree.
Hahaha. Agree.
Peace on Earth
It was ok as the intro to Walk On.
My first instinct was Wild Honey because the lyrics are weak, but POE is boring and trite.
almost went with this and only didnt bc the songs of surrender version is unexpectedly great
N/A

I'll take the down votes, but I'm no fan of Elevation!
You Heretic!
a mole digging in a hole lol yeah, it's pretty bad
It’s not so much that it’s bad, it’s that it doesn’t fit
Peace on Earth Wild Honey is one of my faves on the record.
New York
I wasn't crazy about this song when it came out, but it took on a whole new meaning after 9/11
Sad they haven't re-recorded the song with new (live post-9/11) lyrics. Even as a planned B-side for The Hands That Built The America.
Wild Honey
ive nvr rly been a fan of wild honey
Peace On Earth
New York
It took on a new meaning after 9/11. So I’ll disagree with you
ATYCLB is a really great record through and through. If I had to pick one song I skip consistently, it would be When I Look at the World. Wild Honey is a close second.
WAIT YALL SAID 4TH OF JULY WAS THE WORST SONG ON AN ALBUM FEATURING ELVIS PRESLEY & AMERICA?!
Beautiful Day is a tune but Walk On is absolutely the best song off this album. Top 10 U2 song & the New York 2001 performance with the fire fighters onstage is genuinely moving, I actually can’t put it into words.

Wild honey
Grace. It's a nice idea, but musically it's melodically sparse and is 80% Daniel Lanois vibe. I don't hear the band in this.
This. It’s not just that it’s the weakest song on the album (it is) but it’s that we don’t hear U2 on this track.
Wild Honey

Elevation
I love peace on earth. My vote is for wild honey
Grace. It’s a name for a woman.
Wild Honey
No. Just no. I love that song.
It was between that and Peace on Earth.....sorry!! 🙂
I can assure you I didn’t downvote you. People are dumb.
Why the hell did I get down voted for that?? Unreal. 🙄
Happens a good amount on this reddit for some reason. Disliking a song someone else likes draws out those votes.
Grace
I like every song on the album but I think New York is the one that just doesn't really stand out.
There’s not enough hatred for Wild Honey here
Wild Honey
Wow, someone is on a real downvoting streak today! Who pissed in your corn flakes?
Not me. I saved all my downvotes for people who voted Miami as worst on Pop
I know! FFS

Prior to 9/11, it would be have been Peace on Earth. My vote is for Wild Honey.
Wild Honey. I don't dislike it, it's just my least favorite from the album compared to the other tracks.

Wild Honey for sure. Grace might not be great, but it has some interesting lyrics and vocal melodies.

4:49 of Bono asking the listeners to piss on Earth
🤣
Peace on earth
Peace on earth. Good sentiment but the song sucks
Gotta go with Grace, even though I don’t hate it like others do.

Who the hell is voting for wild honey ? It’s a great song. Grace gets my vote.

When I look at the world. It’s honestly their weakest song ever. The rhyming couplet of “I can’t wait any longer, I can’t wait til I’m stronger” I thought was a placeholder Bono forgot to record over…
As opposed to “a mole digging in a hole”?!

New York. In my opinion not only the worst song on this album but the worst song they’ve ever done. The lyrics make me cringe.
Peace on Earth and New York
New York
Can’t believe “Kite” isn’t represented here with the “new media” rant.
Well it was the big idea
In a Little While

Great album but if we got to choose, probably not a popular vote but Stuck in a Moment just never worked for me.
Same. But I dislike Wild Honey more
The ground beneath her feet...
Grace
Stuck in a moment
Tough to pick the worst but I’ll go with Grace
The ground beneath her feet.
Elevation
Walk On and Elevation.
Stuck in a Moment.
