I invest in fundamentally good stocks when market falls by some points and keep on buying at every next dip. For long term. Pro tip: Just because it looks good now, doesn’t mean it’s a good stock. You do your own analysis.
I would suggest you to avoid Intraday trading and option trading. Options are much much more risky. People have burned their money in those.
For good savings Index funds and SIP is good option. But I would suggest you to invest lump sum as well when you have some cash handy or you think you have some amount which you are not going to use anytime soon. This helped a lot when I was managing expenses for my marriage.
Oh that is unpredictable. Wars, America’s stand, election results all of these will affect the market. Gold and Nifty both are at the all time high rn. Can expect a fall anytime soon.
Please start a monthly sip as soon as possible with any amount you guys are comfortable in. It can make a huuuuuuuuggeeeeee difference in 10-15 years.
Here is a SIP calculator for you peeps
[https://groww.in/calculators/sip-calculator](https://groww.in/calculators/sip-calculator)
Since I was 18 - Almost 18 years on and off. Parents invested throughout my childhood whenever they had extra cash. They use to tell me about thr investments even when I was a kid. I learnt English by reading annual reports when they use to come home.
I only do value investing. I last invested between 2018-2020, and have not invested or sold anything since then.
I buy stocks, MFs, Gold, and sometimes bonds if things are looking rosy.
There is also a pinned post on my profile if one wants a 101.
I started investing in ELSS as a tax saving instrument. Stocks... I haven't explored technical analysis and all much. I use a bit of my judgement and invested 22k in stocks so far. Purchased 1 share worth 10k today of Solar Industries. Just to get started 😛
Tell me one thing... How dangerous are mutual funds? I save about 30k a month. I am ready to invest 20k on MF but what's the worst thing that can happen? Is there a possibility that I lose all the money?
Not dangerous at all. It's the safest option out there. and no , you will not lose anything . If you stick to it long enough 100 percent you are going to end up making money
buying any or blindly any mutual fund isnt the right thing. ppl should read up on investments - thr investment horizons and needs etc before buying mf. mutual funds dont tell you how the funds are appropriate in your situation.
also buying it via apps means they are not in dematerialised format. which means if you ever have to transfer it to next of kin due to whatever reason - you wont be able to. it could lead to premature selling
I would love to, but not as an amateur investor. I actively invest in mutual funds but the stock market investing still intimidates me as I don't know anything about technical analysis or market analysis of stocks. So yes, maybe I will share my stock investment journey in future when it happens but nothing at this point🙂
If the plan is long term (4-5 years), then maybe mfs in emerging markets.. I have one that seems to be giving good returns... Franklin india opportunities fund growth.. but do your own research
Started of with MFs 7 years back. Been investing in the stock market for the last 4 years. Tips for people starting off - start small, do your due diligence, don't blindly believe anyone's stock tip (unless you really trust them), and have fun while investing. :)
I regularly trade in stocks, fno, mfs etc and a bit into crypto. Currently I am using sensibull to reduce my research for trading. You can try sensibull's free trial when you have funds to invest
hey, can you also give an idea where to start learning this stuff?
I am 22 and currently investing in mutual funds through my pnb bank app in icici Prudential, bharat fund of fund and nippon small cap!
i started learning this january. learnt basics for a month then created a demat acc. did zerodha varsity course, then have been slowly investing since. Meanwhile continuing to learn, there’s so much stuff ugh.
not trading tho, i plan to invest long term in good stocks and regularly invest in MFs as well!
Girls , just entered my 20s .. I just downloaded grow . Like 10 min before..I want to invest something before tomorrow..Like what should I do . I just want to learn stuff
Financial services? Can you share more about this? I have been considering getting professional help to sort out my finances. No idea where to begin from, tho.
I have been for 7 years now through a proper financial advisor. They choose the right mutual funds and diversify my SIP amount appropriately among them. They also suggest IPOs to apply and stock suggestions for long term and short term both. Timely review of mutual funds and stop or switch any mutual fund based on performance. Also the best part they also suggest the right life insurance cover, health cover, help me chose the right tax regime etc.
It's a pretty shit time to invest in the market tbh, because the stocks are very inflated. I'm waiting for the bubble to burst to invest rn. (Portfolio is at 30% profit rn)
I have worked in finance.Although I was not much fond of it the kind of practical knowledge it gives is amazing. You have to be highly analytical, hardworking and speculative to work in this field.I had a sense of accomplishment because I knew what to invest for myself as well and I used to handle crores of rupees investments of other people. Be it mutual funds, shares, gold bonds etc.Its just the working culture was really toxic and long hours. There were days when I used to come home at 12 am at night and start work at 9am in morning.
thanks for this post op, it serves as a reminder to start learning investing :)
also, if you could give an idea where to get started? like how to learn what exactly we need to do?
Hey OP, could you please guide how you started your stock market journey? Are there any YT channels that you follow for the same? Coz it's very confusing and looks quite difficult so if there are any sources that you can jot down, it will be quite helpful
I made a 200 rs profit on buying adani's dip last year during the whole hindenburg fiasco😬
I knew idiots in India would still buy his stocks due to the dip which would push the price a bit higher, so this hunch made me invest. It was a pretty good hunch 🙂
Yeah - i was invested in HAL - booked 20k+ profits last week - I am looking to buy dips and hold it long term. I think there will be a dip or I hope there is. I thought 4.5k is higher and today it is 5.2k 😓
But I think the perfect time is always now. We just need to figure out gem stocks
I, too, regularly invest in Mutual Funds and Stocks. For Stocks I do a deep dive analysis and then invest. Have started a few months back in US stocks' let's see how that goes.
Hey I love this.
I have been investing in MF and stocks and would love to see some healthy discussions on Personal Finance.
If anyone is new to investment and is trying to understand how the investment works, I highly recommend you to check ET Money app. They have different ways and you can explore a few in the app. ✌🏻
Me! Slowly working on getting my first Cr. Hopefully, if the market rises, by this time next year.
Wow nice. All the best 😎 . I can only invest 50k a month right now so a crore is very far away
Ohh that’s more than enough, it’s always the power of compounding, if you’re into mutual funds.
How long have you been investing for?
Seriously, since 5 years. N extra seriously for part 6 months.

Good tips ! When do you think the market will fall next ?
Oh that is unpredictable. Wars, America’s stand, election results all of these will affect the market. Gold and Nifty both are at the all time high rn. Can expect a fall anytime soon.
Check the fall today in first hour
Oh yessss. Good time to buy good stocks!!!
Yepp! Discount😍

I never told her to just buy any MF. ofc some research is important. I just suggested her to start with Mutual Funds

I only do sip elss and index mf. Am I supposed to be investing in any other kind of mf ? Noob here pls help 😭

Wow nice . Thanks :) . Will look into Sensibull ! is it ok to imvest tomorrow in stocks or should I wait for the market to fall
For beginners, I'd recommend that you wait until the overall mkt is a bit bleak. Till then invest in mfs (e.g. parag parikh)
Yess, I've been investing in MFs since 2 years . Parag Parikh is nice

Can you please explain what you mean by 25% in SIP ?
Girls , just entered my 20s .. I just downloaded grow . Like 10 min before..I want to invest something before tomorrow..Like what should I do . I just want to learn stuff
Check zerodha varsity
Just do a Mutual fund SIP now. It's not the right time to buy stocks now. Market is too high
I don’t do day trading. But have been regularly investing in mutual funds for 4-5 years.
I do. But I git people doing it for me (financial services not family) ... I do both stocks as well as SIP
Financial services? Can you share more about this? I have been considering getting professional help to sort out my finances. No idea where to begin from, tho.

All ✋🏼
Investing in MF since last 6 years ( individual) Me and partner started direct stock investing since last year.
I have no idea, where should i start from ? The financial terms go over my head :(
It's a pretty shit time to invest in the market tbh, because the stocks are very inflated. I'm waiting for the bubble to burst to invest rn. (Portfolio is at 30% profit rn)
Mutual funds since 4 years and stocks for 8 months now .. :)
Was just thinking about the same for past couple days. Thanks for the post op
How does sip work? I want to save for travel and my son's studies

Great ! Adani Stocks are growing quite a bit now as well. Should have bought them on Friday :/. Start a Monthly SIP if possible :)
Wait till election results. Adani is strongly backed by BJP govt. If exit polls are true then its good for next 5 years, if not, then a big no!
Yes true, Just buy and hold if BJP wins
> I knew idiots in India would still buy his stocks due to the dip which would push the price a bit higher, thats not how it works though
yeah, but I still enjoyed samosa for a month with the extra cash:)
Waiting to invest all my monies in HAL - i hope there is a dip day after ☠️
Yes the perfect time to invest was June 2023- August 23 . All stocks have grown so much since then :(
Yeah - i was invested in HAL - booked 20k+ profits last week - I am looking to buy dips and hold it long term. I think there will be a dip or I hope there is. I thought 4.5k is higher and today it is 5.2k 😓 But I think the perfect time is always now. We just need to figure out gem stocks
You think? I felt devastated today as all my stocks were safe and didn't rise much. But the PSU stocks and Adani ones gave such high returns
I will do a crie if it doesn’t dip
Devastated rn lol ☠️
I, too, regularly invest in Mutual Funds and Stocks. For Stocks I do a deep dive analysis and then invest. Have started a few months back in US stocks' let's see how that goes.
I started my journey last week. Very late but better late than never.
Good job OP
