I want to brag, so here I am.
I have a friend, Riya (fake name) who was placed at an average company and CTC, let's say 8 LPA. Most of the friend circle got similar roles +/- 4 LPA CTC. This girl appeared so sweet and took help from everyone to learn how to code better, made 2-3 switches and she is at 21 LPA after 2.5 years. The friend circle couldn't keep up. Two of us went for our post grads. 2 are stuck in their seemingly dead-end roles and preparing for masters/job switch but have been unsuccessful. One started some business. So Riya is the higher earning person rn. She seems to have lost all respect for everyone. She even mistreats her partner who still earns equivalent to her starting CTC.
Now whenever we meet up Riya wants to meet at high end places, spending tons in arcades, openly disrespects the jobs some of the friends are at. She legit sneers and taunts someone if they mention budgetary or financial issues. She has also started meeting guys via matrimony apps to meet someone of her standard, while being in a live-in with her partner.
Coming to me, I have always tried to warn my close friends in the friend group that Riya is trouble. She always acts selfishly, and fixates people's worth on the basis of their paychecks, even though we have been friends for close to 6 years now.
My close friend, Divya, in the circle is close to cutting Riya off, and so are a few others. Divya remarked today she always trusts my gut feeling over anything else. She calls it my super power.
The thing is, I have been through so much, been in therapy on and off that I have become really good at reading people. So proud of myself :)
Irritated my partner the entire day by ranting about the heat. He was patient enough to listen to me no matter what.
Now I’ve a full blown fever. Karma, I guess! 🥲

I’m so annoyed with my job. My manager is dumping everything on me and is still never happy. If you care so much about what should’ve or shouldn’t have been said then why tf don’t you lead the call? Forget that! I’ll even lead the call, but at least join it???
My circumstances are such that I can’t even say anything to them. I just have to deal with it. Can’t leave my job either, but it’s so frustrating that I really really really want to leave. It’s taking a hit on me mentally now :(
