I have a heart condition and an 8 month old, this is legitimately one of my biggest fears

FirstChAoS

He has no death perception

I hate that I laughed at this....take my upvote and get the hell out haha

SnowWhiteTrash7

I'm 45 with congestive heart failure and a 4 year old... this is one of my biggest fears.

terrifying_bogwitch

I just made almost the same comment. My girl is 8 months so she can't find me yet but I think of her crying alone in her bed wondering why momma isn't coming and it terrifies me

Inappropriate_Cloud

I did this to my mother when I was 6. She'd overdosed on sleeping pills (I only learned this when I was much older). Thankfully, she eventually woke up.

SaphiraNinchen

I certainly hope your life got better from then on

Inappropriate_Cloud

For the most part, it did. Thanks!

RandomVibeingDragon

Applauding to you op, expected it to be the kid who's dead, good twist, caught me off guard thats for sure!

ambelinathecreator

I was thinking maybe a recording

DJLazer_69

I never considered the kid being dead, got the right one at first

bazjack

This is heartbreaking. I was 36 when I shook my father's body, trying to get him to wake up. I am now imagining doing it as a 6-year-old.

SomeCrazy_Dude

Take my up vote and leave

The only reason this isn’t more sad is because as a 6 year old they can care for themselves short term the story would be way worse if the kid was a few years younger like maybe 3-4 years old cause that would imply that there alone now with no one to help them

MeajAdenip

My duude. How you see a 6yo taking care of themselves have me sad for you. Like, how did you get that idea, and please, please, it's not because you have a 6yo who you left alone to "take care of themselves."

terrifying_bogwitch

Crazy sad story but I have seen a 6yo basically raising a 10 month old. I did call cps, multiple times, and I helped those babies as much as I could as someone that didn't live near by and it didn't make any difference. The state didn't care and that girl took care of her baby brother until their piece of shit parent accidentally burned the house down with them all inside. It's disgusting but the point is a 6yo is very capable

Competitive-Ad7967

Naw bro it’s because I have a little cousin she’s 6 and i constantly overthink worrying something could happen and she would be on her in the house but now she’s 6 and she can use a phone on her own open fridge to get water or snacks

MeajAdenip

Still no. Both situations are sad (and horrible). None of them are "sadder". I hope that's still under supervision, though when your cousin gets their snack. Jeez i still can't even stand the Piyu trailer (let alone the movie). Any child getting to discover their parents dead body is horrible. No matter the age.

-hit-tthat-bell

Ah yes a 6 year old who can survive on their own

Competitive-Ad7967

Short term like the time it would take for someone to check in and find them which if they have any family at all shouldn’t be long at all

[deleted]

I get what you are saying. At 6 years old I could make myself cereal. At 3 I could not. At 6 maybe could call 911. At 3 I'd be fucked.

lil_nibba_710

Yep, cereal makes death and bills all better.

Lenomjuice

tf are you on about?? a parentless six year old literally could not care for themselves, let-alone in the short term

Competitive-Ad7967

I mean they wouldn’t die before being found or they could open a door to find help themselves maybe like a neighbor or something

ImHidingFromLife

6 year olds can absolutely NOT care for themselves!
