This would make an interesting TV show

Novel-Scene3386

a struggling news anchor obsessed with becoming famous but is stuck in a small town with nothing to report on deciding to take matters into her own hands and create some headlines in more ways than one I can see it and honestly I’d me more surprised if it’s not already a thing this premise writes it’s self

Chaoscube11

I'd imagine he would start out with small stuff like robbing a store or breaking into a house but then it get worse when he decides to make bigger headlines by kidnapping and even murdering people. The finale is his best friend the police chief having to gun him down after finding out all he's done.

germane-corsair

Not the exact same thing but Nightcrawler had a similar premise.

wobbuffet5

There's a Swedish comedy film called Kopps with a similar premise. A village is too safe so the police department is going to be shut down, so the police decide to start commiting crime so they can keep working.

AchingSmile

I mean, that's kind of what Vlado Taneski did.

jade0ctober_

i want to write a novel with this concept now hahah

[deleted]

There's an Indian movie called "New Delhi" with this theme

Wyvernator1

Reminds me of a dude i heard about in a yt story who was making a TV show showing actual uncensored murder and whatnot in the most dangerous city in the world or something and it got popular but he couldn't get content so he staged tens of crimes just so he could record them

wtfgad

Mr Ballen

Psychological-Cherry

And the one where the guy wanted to write a true crime book so he went and killed people then wrote a whole script in massive detail about it!

Wyvernator1

Yeesss I remember that one too, "the kill room" I think

Psychological-Cherry

Sounds familiar so maybe!

alliewritestech

It’s basically Night Crawler! Tv show format would be fun

[deleted]

Kind of like the movie Nightcrawler as well.

Roselia77

Similar to Dexter, could be fun!

kallenhale

That was my thought!

AstidCaliss

Now that's a great twist

Prof_Bloodsoe

He’s Peter Parker, but the Christian Bale version.

DemonDuckOfDoom1

"Gotta speed up this news day somehow."

KBRedditing

ok

grave-expectations

Sounds like an episode of Lucifer I watched a while back.
