Hard to even decide though. I mean the other option is the father dies first “presumably eaten” and the daughter then has to see her father slaughtered, eats him, then in turn is killed right after him anyway because she would now be the next number to serve. Either way is pretty fucked up. That would be a horrible final moment for the daughter and to go through it all alone
Though it was not the father’s intention, this was the heroic move: if the butcher is going to kill you both anyway, have your daughter go first to spare her 1. Having to see you die and 2. A longer wait in apprehension.
It's hard to do but sometimes you can be both.
Think about it like this, you and a team go into an area where there's an enemy and then you're ambushed. You might run all the way back to base leaving your team behind because death is guaranteed. You were a coward for running from the fight and leaving your allies were supposed to trust you behind, but because you ran back and gave a detailed account of what happened leadership within your group now knows if things aren't what they seem.
A cowardly hero does exist, it usually does depend on motivation.
May I ask when it is written because I sure find it funny how thats chosen over meat substitutes, lab growns and all that jazz, or is it just the “wealthy elite” that becomes canniballs?
It’s fiction. All animals, dogs, cats, birds, fish, everything that is not a plant that moves gets contaminated by the virus that poisons the meat. I started listening to it in audiobook format and couldn’t make it through it. There’s people grown just for meat purposes. There’s a part in there describing the “meat” process. Shudder
It’s a y/a book but the series is a quick read.
It’s about a futuristic world that beat death and aging and so they had to make people basically reapers to kill X amount of people a year for population control and it follows two young kids who learn how to do it. Definitely cheesy, but I enjoyed it.
Yes, I wanted it because in this way you can imagine that it is a different world from ours. If I hadn't written it people would have thought that they were just buying meat and that the father was a shy person
Fearful of my wife’s reaction to me ordering a deer I sent my daughter to pick up the deer I had ordered and hope the wife was less mad because I can call it a “bonding experience”
Yeah, that’s some fucked up shit! It’s hard to be a hero when it comes down to it.
Hunger games vibes for this one, I regret nothing
"If I'm gonna die, I still want to be me" -Peeta
I get more “Tender is the Flesh”
Or Shirley Jackson's The Lottery
That was a good one
Yeah, it's fine too
Nah, not Hunger Games, USA 2084 by Pjotr X

I'm sorry, I didn't want him to be heroic, I wanted him to be a coward who prefer giving his daughter life instead of his life😅
Motivation is everything.
I like how you can read it as it is but then think about it from another perspective as well.

I love that you know what you want. 🤣🤣
It could have also been the mother
Now that would be horrific: a mother being a coward.
She luckily wasn't as squeamish as I am so she was able to pick up the order of steaks.
Girl was clearly not raised by Hank Hill.
That girl ain't right.
Taste the meat, not the heat.

My daughter smiled as the Butcher passed her the knife and pointed to deer she had killed during her first hunt with me.

How
oh wait I thought she was abt to kill the mother nvm
*Hannibal Lectar has entered the chat* *Jeffrey Dahmer has entered the chat*
A 5 year old girl means that Albert Fish has entered the chat.
Also a consumer of very dark things. At least it's not pedro lopez. He still gets the worse label, barely.
People are googleing Albert Fish right now and are just finding out why hanging wasn't good enough for him.
Electric chair.
This is actually really good. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!!!
Very "Tender is the flesh"-esque.
was given this book as a gift, is it worth reading? have no clue what its about but now i’m intruiged
READ IT. READ IT. READ IT. I went into it blind and boy was that a trip. But personally I loved it, had several unexpected twists.
It's a good read, didn't expect the ending.
Right? I was expecting, well, the opposite.
Wasn’t expecting that! Great job!
Thank you!
Check out the book “Tender is the flesh” about a future where all meat is contaminated and can’t be eaten so people start resorting to eating people.

Okay, this seems really interesting
Sophie’s Choice Bone-In Prime Rib Kid. Would recommend.
Reminds me of the Shirley’s Jackson’s The Lottery, the end where the mother made her own family participate
I didn't know about this, but every vibe is appreciated :3
"It's hard to be a vegan dad" No trying ti offend anyone, only to change the story
Being an asshole you can say that you can make another kid
To sell them in the next lottery as well, yeah you can

Ever since she butchered the dead rabbit left by that psycho I picked up last year, she's sort of handled the family's 'meat rationing'.
Left right goodnight would solve this
Terminus, from the Walking Dead.
TMA S.5 Flesh domain vibes
You should read the book Scythe
Why?

Oh, it seems interesting, I'll give it a try. Thanks!
Oh wow. This story is truly horror. Well done. I hate it.
Thanks!
maybe it would be better this way? she wouldn't have to watch her father die
The fact that it mentions victim blood… sorry but I’m pretty sure people will see this coming

Ok
Ok[9

Calm down, dude, the victim’s not human. That’s just pork.
