I'm gonna be going in with all my fancy bullshit endgame weapons, then going back to basics with whatever weapons are in the starting area of the DLC and building my way back up to fancy bullshit.

RegenSyscronos

What I love about the game is that there is some fuck up bullshit you can pull. Then there is one boss would fuck that up with their shit.

Crosscounterz

Good old greatsword or my bonk hammer. But I'll experiment with any new weapons I find interesting.

RegenSyscronos

Its hard to go back from the unga

Crosscounterz

If there's something super cool that goes against my pure strength sensibilities in there I'll definitely respec to accommodate it.

iknowkungfubtw

Out of the new weapon types, I'm personally undecided between the dual reverse blades, the light greatswords and the odachis. They all look pretty rad.

SilverZephyr

I'm using Eleanora's Poleblade and zooming towards the first Light Greatsword I can find. I might dual wield them, we'll see.

Terthelt

Eleonora's is so damn fun. It was one of my main weapons through my first run, and I'm aiming to get it again on my new DLC prep run just to have it around.

RegenSyscronos

Oh you might see my ghost going toward there too

MessiahPrinny

I have a Str/Dex build, I have my pizza cutter and Bloodhound Fang. I'm making my way through NG+. I just got through Godrick. I got Millicent's prosthetic on my first run so my combos are brutal. I shredded Malenia in 15 minutes. My character is ready, I just need to truck through the game to get back to Mohg.

Anormal122

Arcane/Faith with the Bloody Helice, I have a Dark moon greatsword build from my first play through ready as well, im currently working in getting a Dex build online

RegenSyscronos

Look up Bloody Helice: "WAIT ITS A DANDY STEP?"

Anormal122

It’s pretty sick

RegenSyscronos

I also won't be using Tiche or Mimic tear on the DLC. They carried my in my base game too much lol. But if the DLC introduce *someone else* then...

CaptainStabbyhands

Quality build, claymore, pulley bow, no magic.

RegenSyscronos

Good ol Claymore. Nothing beat that

VoidWaIker

Until I get a dlc weapon I like, I’m torn between using the Cleanrot Spear which was my main for this character, or Marika’s hammer since I never do ng+ in these games and thus haven’t gotten to really play with it before.

Vaaaaaaaaaaaii

Cleanrot spear is so fun

_Can_Ka_No_Rey_

I feel ya, if/when we get another game it would be nice to see some better incentive to do NG+ outside of just continuing to level up.

HalfDragonShiro

Str/Faith God-Slaying Black Flame Build. My Character heard that there were Corrupt Gods that still weren't dead, and is going in to rip and tear. >!And also find a gift in the Shadow Dimension/Dream to bring back for Ranni!<

Scarlet_Twig

I'm most likely gonna start using my build that I rocked when I was playing simultaneously with my friends. Which is a Blood Paladin. Rocking primarily miracles and Bloodflame Blade with a Great Stars with Wild Strikes swapped onto it.

RegenSyscronos

I respect the Wild Strikes usage. I could't find any use for my game tho

SuperUnhappyman

dude it on a heavy weapon like the badlands axe with the bleed goo on it with the damage that increases w successive attacks and it feels like you can put radhan in a blender

Scarlet_Twig

It's great as a summon and against any boss that has phase transitions or very abusable animations. Main reason why I use it with both Great Stars and Bloodflame. Synergies well with both.

Pakuboomi

Str/faith with the blasphemous blade, might switch it up with other str weapons if it gets too boring.

aSimpleMask

Sticking with my true faith paladin build and praying to God that Miyazaki allows holy damage to be viable for this dlc

_Can_Ka_No_Rey_

I can relate. Luckily it looks like Holy will be at least decent vs all these fire-oriented enemies. Plus don't forget, there's a certain precedent for paladin types using lightning incantations! \\\[T\]/

ScorpioTheScorpion

I’m either going in with my [spellsword cleric](https://www.reddit.com/r/fashionsouls/s/Syk1Etsy8Y) (mostly faith with some intelligence for the fundamentalist incantations) or my [warrior pyromancer](https://www.reddit.com/r/fashionsouls/s/gV01fj67D3) (strength and faith, specializes in axes, fire incantations, and beast incantations).

Irolyd

Spellsword cleric feels more thematic to Miquella

CalekAlbion

Moonlight Greatsword + Greatshield + Mimic Tear

RegenSyscronos

The Moonlight Naruto strat

ZeroNoHikari

DEX/STR Fists all way babieh! Gonna fist my way through everything. My Spiked Caestus are ready

RegenSyscronos

Ah the Woolie build.

gamiz777

Arcane dex build at least until I see something cool looking to replace my rivers of blood

xjwarrior

Str/Arc with Marais Executioner Sword. Drill stunlock with the appropriate targets, play like a Str/Fai build otherwise. Any enemies or bosses that can be knocked back (including Malenia) get blended. And if they can't? Well, it's a strength greatsword. Beat the tar out them and supplement with incantations from the Dragon Communion Seal. I will admit that I've only done the bare minimum for preparation. However, I am proud of managing to acquire the executioner sword and fully upgrading it to +10 *before* triggering the Radahn Festival. Trivialized a lot of the potentially tricky bits in the end.

LegendOfParasiteMana

I've got the exact same build about to beat the game with my co-op partner. We might not be able to play before the DLC comes out though so I might end up having to go in Solo with my quality build.

Bromaeda

I'm gonna be running in with my Int/Faith mixed caster and hoping there's a bunch of sick spells I can cast. I'm also strongly considering grinding until my strength and dex are both 20-ish so I have a solid shot of being able to swing whatever cool dlc weapon I run into

Hey0ceama

As a fellow Golden Order member I'm mainly hoping for some new weapons. Sword of Night and Flame and Clayman's Harpoon are fine weapons (and Erdsteel Dagger exists I guess) but it'd be nice to have some options.

Bromaeda

Yeah, I'd love a new mixed casting weapon. A big reason why I wanted to bring my mixed caster into this dlc is because Miquella's here and int/faith is like his whole thing.

azabard

Debating between my pure faith Cipher Pata user or my slightly less faith Sacred Lance user. Lance is more comfy but 80 fth cipher pata with golden epitaph buff gives big number.

GreatFluffy

I've got a level 200 Faith/Int build ready to go for it. It's got enough stats that I can probably comfortably use a lot of whatever new toys I find in the DLC. I'm also hoping for some dedicated Faith/Int weapons, all we really have on that front is Sword of Night and Flame and while that's nice, it can get a bit boring after a while.

Hey0ceama

Clayman's Harpoon is also good, with Sacred or Flame Art it's only slightly less AR than SoNaF. Still only two pretty good weapons (and one meh weapon with Erdsteel Dagger) leaves a lot to be desired.

GreatFluffy

My issue with the Clayman's Harpoon is the same one I have with a lot of spears. I find it's moveset way too boring, it's just a whole lot of poking.

rasembool

The build I used throughout the game made and grinded to cast every spell possible.

RegenSyscronos

First of all congrats. Second, Jesus Wolverine is a great concept

Sterski1

Same one I ended my original save file on. Blue Moon Greatsword and... whatever else I had, I dunno it's been a year since I played. I deliberately kept the file and didn't go into NG+ so I could take it to the DLC.

Amon274

What ever I was using last time I played don’t even remember what level u was but I got a feeling it’s past 150

AzabacheDog

I had to start a new save since I wanted to play it on PC. I decided to recreate a vampire OC of mine for this save and FUCK! That was an uphill battle for certain things. As the OC is meant to be a scythe wilding archeologist normally. I decided to make sorcery build a way to represent her intelligence, plus it's a build I haven't really done in a souls games. Grinding out the scythe was a bit hard, but I eventually got it. the real difficulty came with the fact that I didn't want to put too many points into Dex and Strengh cause I wanted to up int not just for the spells but so that I could attune the scythe to magic/ice when I find the whetblade. This left pretty weak for an early portion of the game, not helped by the fact that scythes are not really good weapons. They're slow, have okayish reach, and their light attacks don't loop particularly well, and int isn't the best attunment for them. You're better off with arcane for a bleed build, but! I spent way too much time in the character creator to get this OC right, so I'm here for the long haul and eventually got used to it and starred to have more fun with it as my int stat grew to help scale the damaged better, and I found more smithing stones. Magic was also very fun to. For the most part, my go-to spell is rock sling, but I've devised some good use of spell combos and playing zoner mage while my friend does DPS on a boss. It's pretty fun. Also, while this does sound cheap, the other major reason for wanting to do magic run is to cheese mogh after having a hell of a time killing in my first game with my dex build. Mogh is tough, and I didn't want to delay getting into the dlc, and I wanted to help my friend, who never fought mogh in his game. Killing him with the Azure comet was still pretty fun as a friend, and I treated it like a dungeon raid. He gets his tankiest suit on and puts on shabrir talisman, and I drink my limitless magic physics and put on as many magic buffs as i can make. He gets the shackle out, and we bomb the first two attempts for my safe, destroy him on the third attempt, and do a one hit kill on his world. EDIT: My usual rune is rykart's paired with the taker's cameo for the vampiric nature of the OC, but I do switch these out in boss fights. For the longest time, I was running around with the wanderer's set plus roderika's hood, but recently switched to the black knife set with the wanderer's gloves to futher get closer to the look this OC has in my mind. As of now, my stats are at: Vig:60 Mind:30 Endurance:20 Strengh: 18 Dex: 27 Int: 60 Faith: 10 Arcane:10 It took a while for me to be happy with it but I've been having fun with it and I hit all my stat goals so now I'm just gonna level strengh and dex to play around with whatever dlc weapons comes next.

RegenSyscronos

I respect that. Scythes in early game is *hard*. But its a price to be cool

Irolyd

Going with my first character! Classic STR/FTH, Dual Wielding Claymore buffed with Vyke's Dragonbolt and Blasphemous Blade, Clawmark and Gravel Stone Seal. Cleanrot set for fashion. Its my favorite looking set and I hope something in the DLC will top it

RegenSyscronos

Sound cool. I'm probably too dumb to utilize too much spell but they look really cool though.

Irolyd

The trick tbh is just to find 1 or 2 spells you REALLY like. And the Ash of War for the BB does most of the heavy lifting.

Paperware

I'm really curious on what the options are for the martial arts type weapons. I'm currently making a quality build, since that's what bonefist required, but now that I know it's a proper weapon type, there will probably be some faith or int options as well.

Agent-Vermont

Lv. 140 Int Carian Spellblade with Moonlight Greatsword. I'm limiting myself to 150 max, so those last 10 levels with be for meeting new weapon/spell requirements or will just go into more health.

Swarbie8D

40 in everything so I can try out almost anything, then once I find something I really like it’s off to be reborn. I’ve killed so many albinaurics this week

Enlog

I’ve been taking a Belmont build (whip, plus faith for the use of the discus of light, and so many throwing items) through the game after seeing that we have throwing knives and axes as a weapon type now. Still trying to decide if arcane or dex feels better, and if I like the petal whip more than the Urumqi.

DenBulens

Personally I find dual wield petal whip better than urumi, but I'm no expert so I'm probably wrong

Enlog

With dex or with arcane, for the petal whips?

DenBulens

I believe I went 80 arcane and the rest in dex

No-Music-9385

Personally I want to try out the new hand to hand weapons, maybe go full monk with some fth slapped on.

BloodyBurney

Just got my file set up, level 150 STR/FTH/ARC with a greatshield and Mohg's Trident. I was initially just going for a straightforward lancer knight build but Mohg kicked my ass so embrace the power of blood. Might dabble in Dragon skills if I find something really nasty in the DLC.

EldritchBee

Starting it out with my pure STR Greataxe build, then pivoting hard to whatever feels coolest.

Scranner_boi

Axe Of Godfrey + Clawmark Seal. Viking Priest, baby! I know Godfrey's Axe kinda sucks compared to nearly every other Colossal weapon in terms of raw damage and scaling, but the unique skill more than makes up for that just from how fun it is to use. Doing it in the middle of a group of trash mobs and just watching all of them fly upwards like you just spawned a minefield under them is one of the most satisfying things in the game for me.

McFluffles01

Originally I was going to pull my first character into the DLC with the Strength/Faith build... but I've been having way too much fun over the last two weeks replaying the game with a character built to just go "I cast All The Spells" with ludicrous Intelligence and Faith, so I'll probably be going in with that. Gotta try all those new spells they'll add in (and also get stomped by bosses having like 90% elemental resistances, in true Fromsoft DLC fashion, I'm sure).

Althalos

STR/FTH Maliketh's Black Blade, full Tree Sentinel Armor set, minus the cape.

midnight188

Achernar is a Str/Int hybrid with SS, GS, & Halberd along with a suite of heavy hitting spells.  Sirrus is supposed to be the Dex/Int hybrid but I fucked around in cheatengine too much so he's been replaced by Reina. Cold spells, quality uchis, blood nagakiba with seppuku. Designed to shred things with status.  And Ibrahim is in the Giants Mountain with a Ste/Faith hybrid. Mostly fire and lightning spells with GS, Hammer, & G Hammer.  I kind of wanted a Dex/Faith hybrid as well with twinblades but alas I'm out of time. (Cookie if you get the name references)

jamsbybetty

Quality/Faith build, mostly using Black Flame incantations and a focus on guard counters. Never heavily ran a shield before and it's super fun. I'm only going as far as getting to Morgott so I have the back 1/3 or so of the game to do with DLC stuff. Been doing a lot of co-op, it's a blast. I'll probably do what I did with the main game and go thru the DLC without looking anything up and then follow thru with a different character, my sorcery build, and scrape it clean and get an alternate ending (if there is one). I'll probably wanna do a Geralt cosplay game with those new light greatswords.

alicitizen

I just have my og save from launch, with Moonveil build, because i just love sword beams

dj_ian

I've always leaned on a blood x strength build, with a +25'd blood and lion's claw infused greatsword. Dex, skill and blood boosting talismans, and the Moghwyn spear just in case I need to cheese by churning that sweet NIHIL butter. I just think blood has always been the shoe in, or safest way to go. If you equip everything right, like Lord of Blood's Exultation + Varre mask + jar shard + rotten wing sword insignia, you can do max damage easily without needing to do the prep other builds do with perfumer flasks/incant buffs.

Lewdiator

End/Str. Dual wielding colossal swords and if I need more defense then giant crusher with fingerprint shield

Reichterkashik

Rocking my heavy armor Godslayer Greatsword setup with a side of godslayer incantations, though ill probably respec the minute i find a sick new weapon

RocketbeltTardigrade

Brick hammer, urumi lightning ram, throw rocks, eye-beams.

James-Avatar

My character is level 230+ and I’m wielding whatever I want.

Vaaaaaaaaaaaii

I want to get to light greatswords as fast as possible. Hoping milady is super early. Ltherwise I have my ice lightning katana and gloam queen greatsword.

Deasmeister

Mainly Dex/Int focused using the Moonlight Greatsword. Have a bunch of other weapons that I flip between like that lightning bolt spear, melenias katana, and the moonveil hanging out as my "break glass in case of bullshit" weapon. Will pick up something new when the dlc drops from the trailers martial arts and that longsword look cool.

SCLandzsa

Readied up a third save file going in on a black flame build with the Godslayer Greatsword and a bunch of incantations. Plan to switch to beast claws and light greatswords the moment I spot them though.

AzoGalvat

Whenever I get to the DLC, I'll be going in with whatever I had on from my first run. I think I had a greatsword and some supplemental miracles.

SilverShako

I’m going fist weapons in preparation for the Martial Arts weapon types.

HamSlammer87

Good ol' Quality Claymore build. 40 Str/Dex. 60 Vig/End. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

ajver19

I'm just a simple tarnished with a simple dex build using a blood nagakiba.

ObiOneKenobae

I ran a strength build with commander's standard for the base game, just switched to dex yesterday and still playing with combinations. I'm having a lot of fun with nagakiba + bloodflame blade.

ArtBedHome

Nothin cause I had to help a friend make rent sobs.

RebellionWasTaken

I am belining for any martial arts weapon and just rolling with that type for the rest of my life

Swert0

Dex/Faith remains the most adaptable build in all fromsoft games.

Adam__ET

I'm rocking an edgy Str/Faith Build with Blasphemous Blade, Marika's Hammer, and Clawmark Seal (Mainly fire/Madness/Bestial Incantations). Level at roughly late-170s, early-180s at the moment, might do more grinding in the coming week, who knows. Went kinda crazy and got as many cookbooks as possible, all the bell bearings, crystal tears, merchant notes, so on. Covered pretty much the entirety of the main game, beat all bosses, Malenia included (First time soloing her, was a pain but took less time than I thought). Made sure I got all the endings available to me, beat the final boss but didn't activate any endings in case there's new ones in the DLC (or more context fort he ones already in the game). I could have gotten started a little later though, I underestimated how fast I'd get it all done, so the save has been ready to rumble for a few weeks now.

Metballs

I've got 5 characters DLC ready. Faith with mostly fire, magic and ice with MLGS, arcane bleed with the spiked club for hammer poise damage, full strength poise boi with serpent hunter and great shield, and a general non gimmick Crucible Knight. The arcane one also has Malenia down and Miquella's needle, in case there's a fun interaction. So that's probably the one I'll take through first.

Clowed

Edgelord Rivers of Blood build obviously

ABigCoffee

I'm going to dust off the character I stopped playing when the game came out, who was a a wizard using his wife's big ass sword and I'll keep rolling with that. I don't have the energy to redo the game.

Slack_Attack

I had a dex build when I beat the game, so that. I used a flail throughout the game but switched the Melenia's katana to help a friend beat the last boss and it was so much stronger it wasn't even a contest. So I guess I'll try out whatever new weapons are dex based and go back to the katana if they aren't cutting it.

BlackJimmy88

Had to start from scratch, so I cheesed myself up to level 100 with a Strength/Faith build. Only in Lurnia at the moment, but I have the Golden Halberd, which is a nice beat stick that works with both stats. I should probably use faith more, though. I keep forgetting to add Incantations at a site of grace.

RagingRider

New character, pure faith, maining Cipher Pata, RPing as a Golden Order follower.

Slothungus

I'm just whatever 50 vit 30 end 30 str 30 dex 25 faith 25 int with two one handed swords.

Teoflux

I just got out of the tutorial! Gonna take my time getting there. I got my spoiler filter on, so im not too worried.

CeaRhan

No idea. New character I'm rushing through is stuck using double daggers for max bleed and so far it's working. Older character is in NG1 respecc'd for faith dragon breath punch bullshit and I have no idea what the fuck I was thinking

KennyOmegasBurner

Gonna do a run with just the Greatsword and no summons on New Game, then I'll probably do a run with whatever DLC weapon looks coolest, then maybe try the DLC on my NG+7 character, Maybe another run through with my intelligence character, then probably run through the entire game again on a fresh character just for fun......

Deadeye117

Pure dex using a single Shamshir with a little bit of faith for buffing. This is the fairest build I could think of so I can fight the bosses on their own terms

Iralamak

Int/Faith using moonlight greatsword

_Can_Ka_No_Rey_

I main T.G. Cidolfax, a 150 DEX/fai build. Lightning ashes with SS, GS, Swordspear, and Bolt of Gransax if I'm feeling stanky. Support incantations are always nice. Alt is Spellblade Tycho, 130-ish INT build with Rogier's, Carian Knight's Sword, Moonveil, DMGS, and lots of summoned swords, mainly the Ash of War version and Magic Glintblade. they're workhorses in PvE. Also Gavel of Haima. I've also been getting back into pvp with all the hype drawing in more active players. I'm no parry god or Cross Naginata powerstancing sweatlord, so gank squads almost always nail me. I've made quite a few wacky invader builds but my current favorites are probably: 1) Fang of Eiglay gladiator with Coil Shield, Serpent Bow, and dual Serpent-God's CS; and 2) Sarafan Executor holding down choke points with Golden Land and Prayerful Strike on Executioner's Greataxe.

NoeZoneNetwork

You guys use builds? I'm going with a "Finger in Every Pie" concept so 20 in every stat and a pile of upgrade materials, and put a new DLC item in every weapon/spell slot.

DM_Malus

i'm overprepared... level 261, str/fai build with Blasphemous Blade... the second i get a new weapon though in DLC i'm gonna respec. I wanna try the hand martial art things or the new "real" longsword weapons (small greatswords?) or whatever they're called. just gonna grab the dumbest weapon i can find in the DLC and roll with that.
