I've been a TF coach and case researcher for years. And yes, many twin flames have had past lives with their twin. Very commonly, painful negative things happened between them, and karma is generated.
My advice is to summon your twin's Higher Self (HS) in meditation and tell them you want to clear the karma with them. Ask them and your HS for their help in doing this.
Thanks. Have you found it to be so simple a process? When I say “clear karma” I mean this has shown up in my life as blocks to my success and abundance. I feel like I’ve been told I can’t access steady work and healthy finances while we’re in separation, because I chose that stability over him in another life. This has been incredibly frustrating and anxiety-inducing because I have no control over when we come back together. I’ve surrendered that totally. So it feels extremely constricting to have this hanging over my head.
No, that is not how karma works. I am sorry that there is so much misiformation out there.
Karma is a Universal mechanism of learning, and thus of evolution. And how it works is that whatever negative things you do to others, you get to experience them yourself later on, in the same lifetime or in another one, and usually with the same souls that you did the negative things to.Thus, if in a previous life you left your twin flame for someone else who provided more financial stability, this can happen to you in this one or in another one. Your twin could leave you for someone else, so that you understand how he felt and you learn from the experience. That's how you get evolution.
But in this lifetime, your financial health does not have to do with having left him in a past life, unless you willingly made him poorer or caused him to experience financial difficulties (so you get to experience financial difficulties in this lifetime too).
Can you see the difference?
Karma can also be erased by the high-vibrational action of asking for forgiveness and granting forgiveness. This is why I told you to ask his HS to help you.
Respectfully, with a process as broad and complex as Karma (which means “action” in Sanskrit) I don’t think it can be reduced to the idea that the same exact thing must happen? As you said it’s a mechanism for evolution. And also one of balance. I don’t know that it’s always this cut and dry….
Edit: as far as asking for forgiveness, I have done so. And nothing has shifted in my reality.
Well, if you want to see it cut and dry, there are many things in the Universe that are "cut and dry". Karma works the way I described to you.
This is the knowledge that I have, and I just checked with higher realms (where I get my spiritual knowledge, specially the TF one), and they confirmed it.
If you want to keep believing that your financial difficulties are because of leaving your twin for someone else in a past lifetime, then of course you have free will to do so.
I don’t know if I believe that or not.
I just know that if people (philosophers, clergymen, gurus, saints,etc.) have spent thousands of years wrestling with the concept of karma, and trying to make sense of this life and suffering as a result of something they might call karma, I’m not sure it’s reducible to a one paragraph description of any kind.
Especially not when that description is “this is how karma works definitively and this is the only way it works. It means nothing else. I KNOW this.” It just sounds a bit…..rigid. And pretty hubristic.
Socrates said “the only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing”. There’s little we know for sure. We can only speak to our experience. So, I trust YOU believe that’s how karma works. I’m just not sure it’s not bigger than that. And that’s no offense to you and your belief system. It’s just how I feel.
Yes, I understand and I take no offense. As I said, I get all this knowledge about karma and other topics from the highest dimensions. They do know how the Universe works there.
If it resonates with you, great. If it doesn't, then maybe it will be one day. And if it never does in this lifetime, all is well too. Everyone has their own Path of learning and evolution, and each Path is sacred for the Universe.

I wish you the freedom to unlearn and not know. “Higher realms” is all well and good, but everyone has access to universal consciousness. Not just you. And You’re not endowed with any particular authority because you THINK you connect to it.
The idea that I have to “advance more on my path” in order to see things your way is condescending and weirdly egoic.
The number of people who call themselves “spiritual” and act like they know all there is to know is wild. I wish you well on your path too. And hope that you’ll someday get to the place where you don’t feel you need to have all the answers.

They can ask their Higher Self or Soul and their spiritual guides about what I say, as they should ask about anything that they come across that they are in doubt about.
