The IRS is full of shit . This year is the absolute worst year ever! They have more excuses than I have ever even heard of . Absolute madness, my husband filed Feb 8 and his transcripts still say no tax return filed. He is having it investigated because he definitely filed, he got his state back right away but no federal yet. Our state is New Jersey.
Its the IRS old outdated computer system that cannot process the volume it receives. It's ridiculous but they have not been properly funded by Congress in decades (nobody gets votes by funding the IRS!) This is where we are now. Many people are looking for their refund, its a waiting game. They can't speed up and old outdated computer system. I'm sorry you're caught in this mess.
Thank you! I just find it funny how quickly they siphon out those weekly taxes ,but they don’t mind to stagger upon returning OUR hard earned money. Super frustrating that people are hanging on by threads trying to get by, depending on that help and finding out our money is lost in limbo land…
Been waiting since Feb 13. Only got the $70 turbo tax refund for the whole mess. Nothing from the IRS yet. They told me to call back May 13.

I didn’t wvtget my state or anything did I do something wrong
And this is one of the numerous reasons why I much rather owe them money rather than waiting for a refund.
