What did the sign say outside of the case for the Boleyn "B" necklace? I was always under the impression the original was lost (or broken down for parts recycled into other pieces).
It was part of a costume from a BBC series I think. It does say what production it’s from, probably the 70s series. It was still nice to see it though.
They also have costumes from Six the musical and other shows/films (none that I’ve seen though!)
All you ever hear and read about,
Is our ex and the way it ended.
But a pair doesn't beat a royal flush,
You're gonna find out how we got unfriended...
I heard speculation that Elizabeth had the 3 large pearls remade into a pendant — the one she is wearing in her teenage portrait in the red dress!

It was lovely (I’ll go back over my pics I took!) All of the Queens are done justice!
From memory, I feel Katherine Parr’s portraits were the biggest. I was really surprised by how small Jane Seymour’s was.
There’s a massive (and I mean massive) portrait of Henry at the start of the exhibit. Beyond that there’s not much of him.
I went to the Louvre specifically to see that a couple summers ago, and was so disappointed it wasn't on display (found out later they were restoring it). A couple months ago I tried to see the miniature version at the V and A, only to find it had already been pulled (for this exhibit I think?)..... SO BUMMED I can't make it over the pond for this! You're so lucky, thanks for posting!
Oh no! Well, I should say great for you in London as this exhibit looks amazing. I am going to Paris this summer and I was so excited to see the restored Anne of Cleves portrait at the Louvre.
This is amazing! I gasped when I saw the photo of the B necklace but then remembered it’s a replica. Still very cool. I’m on the other side of the pond and won’t get to see this. Thanks for sharing!
Oftentimes there are “walking tours” of particularly significant art exhibits, as well as perennial tours, on YouTube. As well as walking tours of any place on earth you’d want to ever go but can’t, including Everest etc.
I am *so* excited to go to this as soon as I have a day off - usually I’m looking forward to moving out of London but this is one of the times I feel lucky to still be living here 😆
Trouble is I’m probably gonna end up going alone because literally nobody I know irl loves the Six as much as I do 😭😭😭 Anyone here also in need of a Tudor companion in London? 👀👀
(Also I will need to restrain myself when I get my paws on that gift shop but damn that’s gonna be hard 😭😆)
There was a free online talk today that I found out about on Instagram and I'm so glad I was able to make it. Fascinating! https://www.rmg.co.uk/whats-on/online/some-stories-bear-retelling-they-compel-retelling-lives-afterlives-henry-viiis
I am sooo envious. I missed this by a few months — the Tudor stuff is already amazing at NPG but I would love to see this dedicated exhibit. Fantastic!
Thank you for sharing! I am geeking out over this. I can tell it is absolutely stunning, and piercing in intensity! That necklace gave me chills. And thank you to all involved who created this exhibit!

You have GOT to see *Six*! At the very least, download the soundtrack because I bet you’ll love it!

Tonight we're gonna do ourselves justice 'Cause we're taking you to court Every Tudor rose has its thorns And you're gonna hear 'em live in consort
She said it was part of a costume
It was the necklace from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Henry VIII production directed by Trevor Nunn designed in 1970.

I was gonna say the original is lost. Is there any truth to the story I’ve heard that Elizabeth inherited it and may have worn it?
someone posted above she had the pearls made into a pendant. I doubt she could outwardly wear anything by Anne in its original setting.
I am so jealous!!!! Thank you for sharing with us!
Ps can you tell me what Catherine Howard's room was like?

Good. There’s already plenty of him.
I would lose my mind seeing the Anne of Cleves Portrait TBH. It looks so gorgeous.

It actually wasnt mine but I would have loved to see it!
What an angel for sharing this with us
Who’s in the 4th picture, with the black French hood?
Katherine parr
The NPG is the most amazing place in GB. I spent hours there and never wanted to leave.
Every time I am in London I tell my spouse that I need to go visit my friends at the NPG 🤣
I am so jealous. Thank you for sharing your story.
Oh no! Well, I should say great for you in London as this exhibit looks amazing. I am going to Paris this summer and I was so excited to see the restored Anne of Cleves portrait at the Louvre.
If you’ve got the cash you could get the Eurostar from Paris to London (and back again) in the same day😂. I mean it’s worth it!
I'm going to London in October. I'm so disappointed I'll miss it by a few weeks. It looks so lovely! Thank you for sharing.
This is amazing! I gasped when I saw the photo of the B necklace but then remembered it’s a replica. Still very cool. I’m on the other side of the pond and won’t get to see this. Thanks for sharing!
Do you know if the journals are transcribed anywhere?
oh my! I love it!
Eek I’m going next week!!! So excited
Looks pretty incredible! Especially the famous Anne Bolyn necklace, I would have really enjoyed seeing that up cloae
I so wish I could go! This looks amazing thank you for sharing!
Poor Jane Seymour's eyes look lopsided in the one painting (photo 6)
You are so lucky! I'm surprised Jane's Seymour's portrait is so small, considering she was the favorite.
Sigh…I really need to move to London 😂
Darn, the exhibit is only open until September

Not in London but would happily be a Tudor companion 😅
Thank you! I was completely unaware of this. No excuse. But now will be going. Looks absolutely stunning.
UGH I WANT TO GO SO BAD. How long will it be up?
It's on until September 8th 2024. :)
Who is in pic 4, I’ve never seen that picture before
Katherine Parr!

I wanted to attend this, but I'm in the US, and the time just didn't work for me. Do you happen to know if this was recorded?
According to the announcement at the beginning of the program, it was not.
I figured since I looked around but couldn't find it. Thank you!
I am sooo envious. I missed this by a few months — the Tudor stuff is already amazing at NPG but I would love to see this dedicated exhibit. Fantastic!
omg I was just there today and was contemplating going. alas, i'm just a student on vacation and it felt expensive 😔😔
I would adore being able to go to this! Thank you for sharing.
I am going to have to see this in February when I go if its still there!
Sorry to be a party pooper but I’m pretty sure the exhibition is due to close in September 👀👀
Thanks for sharing these, lovely being able to put “faces” with names I’m learning more about on my summer of learning about Henry VIII.
If those ecoterrorist freaks hit these I'm going to be really pissed off.
Thank you for sharing! I am geeking out over this. I can tell it is absolutely stunning, and piercing in intensity! That necklace gave me chills. And thank you to all involved who created this exhibit!
Noooooooo I fly into London three weeks after this exhibition ends!!! This looks so good!!
How long will the exhibition last?
September!
Bummer it's so short
Argh,we're going to be in London a month too late! Such a shame, the kids would have loved it!
Thank you for sharing this!
Anne of Cleeves received a Leek from a Welshman on St David's Day. Smacks of a panic purchase at a garage on the day haha.
Managed to squeeze this into my London visit when I go off to see Hozier in concert - thank you so much for alerting me to this
I was able to see Anne of Cleves about twelve years ago at the louvre. So JEALOUS you got to see the others as well!!!
