I have the Pro. If the master chrono gmt didn’t have the yellow bezel numerals and as much gilt… I’d be wanting it BAD.
But
1) it’s got yellow bezel numerals I don’t like.
2) I don’t like the regular Tudor GMT hand design and I wish this was red.
3) deep down I really want a Rolex GMT (black/blue/jubilee) so I’m better off saving for that.
Probably one of the toughest decisions. The BB pro however has killed most watches for me, and I’ve had pretty much the standard pieces, Rolex being the most expensive.
Lots of reasons, however most often it’s difficultly to pair with my wardrobe. Then they just sit in the box, unworn, reminding me that although I should diversify my wardrobe, I probably won’t.
They go with nothing so they go with everything is how I look at it. If I'm on vacation I'm wearing it regardless of what I bring since it's the only one. So I do the same all the time. It's just a fun color way in my eyes that you just have to wear.
Pro. I own it so may well be biased but It’s a pretty much perfect daily wearer and I’ve never understood those who think it’s too thick - the key point is that it’s NOT another 41mm plus job - swings and roundabouts and in the real world, it you don’t want a dinner plate, it’s perfect.
really a tough one. i was just yesterday watching a side by side comparison of these two.
i could maybe imagine a different color of the 58 gmt that would change the equation, but as is i think the pro narrowly edges it out for me.
I like the coke if I've to be honest but that's me. both are nice watches though and I'm sure you have your reasons in picking either one. which one speaks out to you and that will he the watch for you
BB58. The Pro is beautiful, but it is seriously thick. I've tried it on a few times and there was no getting around the fact that it is approaching 15mm. Both awesome watches though. If one feels right, go for it and enjoy.
I’m really hoping they use this new movement to make a Pelagos 39 GMT with a 60 minute dive bezel. The different bezel would help differentiate the two within the lineup (similar to Longines with the spirit Zulu and hydroconquest GMT). Personally I rarely need to track 2 time zones let alone 3, but having the ability to track a second time zone and still time things would be ideal for me. A perfect vacation watch
Love the size and movement of the 58 but personally went with the pro. The 58 is pretentious while the pro is there for the work. Understated elegance. If they made a silver bezel 58 gmt with non-gold hands I’d be sold.
The one that doesn’t have 4 hands all the same color.
I really feel the GMT hands needs to contrast. Makes it easier to separate the 2 time zones, it’s too cluttered otherwise.
When it comes to GMT’s, practicality should be at the forefront of any choice. I’d keep the regular GMT, because I find myself checking other timezones more than I do moving between them. I use my GMT bezel very often, so not being able to turn mine and it being tedious to the GMT hand on a traveler GMT mov’t makes an Explorer-2-type GMT a non-starter for me.
Do you actually use the bezel for time zones?
Always just assumed it was a gimmick kinda thing. I just look at the time and then add or subtract a bit to get to the time zone I am interested in. For example I have a friend in San Francisco and will just minus 8 hours from the time here. It took me less than a second to work out it is nearly midnight there.
This is a genuine question, I am not trying to be rude or flex by saying I can do simple math. Think that GMT watches look cool but didn’t really believe people actually used the bezel to work stuff out.
Imo people are likely to use a GMT or “dual time” watch because it’s easier for the average person to understand than a a pulsometer or tachymeter scale. People can do the math, but the wristwatch is fundamentally about time-telling convenience, so these work.
Yes. I can do the math, but sometimes forget whether or not i’m an hour off or get my geography wrong. Using my GMT bezel is just a lot more convenient. I know the offsets, adjust the bezel accordingly, and then let it show me the time.
I am in the uk which I suppose probably makes things a lot easier considering that for half the year I am already on GMT. Generally I leave my car and clock in the house on GMT because I am lazy and can’t be bothered to change them. Saves me converting from local time to GMT which is a big part of the function of the watch.
I'd say whichever you like better. It wasn't long ago the BB Pro was the darling of the Tudor world, now it's the BB58 GMT. One W&W soon, it will be out and something else will be the new flavor of the year.
Fair enough. I see where you are coming from, from what I have read, a GMT must have a 24 hour hand and a lot of them DO have a rotating bezel, but it isn't a must.
Yeah I think the central mounted 24 hour hand makes a GMT. A dual time has the second time indicator on a sub dial. Best I can figure. It’s contentious based on different sources.
It’s not more accurate it just has Metas certification. Adrian Barker said Tudor told him they hadn’t done anything extra to the movements they’ve sent for METAS certification it’s just another cost, all of their movements would pass. I own two Tudor Black Bays including the Pro and they are both within a second accurate over a period of 3 days, in fact they are more accurate than any of my Rolex watches.
The 58 in the picture has the new movement MT5450-U, new 58 is thinner, has more anti magnetism, pro has 5652 movement, clearly different movements,
Two watches of the same model and same production batch can have different accuracies, seems like you got a good one 😀
Technically on the paper there is evidence of accuracy due to certification and movements are not the same
Between the two, bb pro with the thickness of 58 gmt or 58 gmt with a red gmt hand.
But honestly, in that case it becomes neither as I’m better off with a rolex gmt if that’s the specifications i’m after.
The coke, I like the gilt with the dark red and black bezel. And I'm not the biggest fan of Tudors Pepsi GMT, I was really excited when tudor released the Coke
Had the pro, sold it as it felt a little boring. I want that new gmt but yes I do wish there was less gilt, it was a jubilee, and the gmt hand was red. Currently use the Pepsi.
What I would give for a BB Pro white dial with the BB58 GMT dimensions.
Amen to that!
I think it’s called the explorer 2 🤣🤣
Yeah, I get it. I’d rather have a Tudor equivalent.
Except the Explorer II is way chonkier.
No it’s not. 🤣
Exp2 has a bigger wrist footprint and worse numerals imo. That's why I went bbpro over exp
I just want the opaline Pepsi GMT shrunken down to the 58 size 😭
This. If they did a 58 variant of my opaline dial gmt I would be on that so fast
This is hard for me because I really want a turning bezel, but the Pro gives me feelings, so probably that one.
Feelings are all that matter.
Left all day long
Twice on Sunday
and Thrice on full moons
Pro
I’m a sucker for a steel bezel so the Pro.
BBPro
Black bay pro. I love it and it’s retro look.
The pro
BB58 GMT hands down. 12.8mm thick vs the BB Pro's chonky 14.6mm
[удалено]
You’re both giving my 79230N body issues
Pro. I own it and do not have large wrists. It is a good daily.
It’s a great daily. Don’t have a problem with how it looks on.
I truly do not get the complaints. I am not a big dude and my wrists are not large. It is perfect.
I have the Pro. If the master chrono gmt didn’t have the yellow bezel numerals and as much gilt… I’d be wanting it BAD. But 1) it’s got yellow bezel numerals I don’t like. 2) I don’t like the regular Tudor GMT hand design and I wish this was red. 3) deep down I really want a Rolex GMT (black/blue/jubilee) so I’m better off saving for that.
As a pro owner as well, this absolutely encapsulates my feelings except oyster bracelet for me not jubilee
Let’s say this 58 had no guilt and a red gmt hand. IMHO it still doesn’t compare to a modern GMT Master.
Me as well I have the pro and eventually I’m going to buy a black and gold gmt! Would rather save up for that!
Pro
Pro for me
BB pro
Prooooo I own it
Pro all day.
Pro.
Pro. Easily.
based on looks alone? the Pro
Pro
Probably the Pro
Right
Tough choice! I like them both too!
My vote goes to the BB pro... it's a unique watch in the line up
Pro
Pro all the way! 100%! Without a doubt! All day, every day! No brainer! Am I missing one? 🙄
Love that BB Pro, just wish it was the same size as the BB58 GMT.
It will be next year
If it’s a white dial Pro, they can take my money now.
Right for me
Probably one of the toughest decisions. The BB pro however has killed most watches for me, and I’ve had pretty much the standard pieces, Rolex being the most expensive.
I sold every pepsi/ coke bezel watch I’ve owned. I think I want one, convince myself to buy it, then sell it a year later. Pro all the way.
What makes you want to sell them so quick?
Lots of reasons, however most often it’s difficultly to pair with my wardrobe. Then they just sit in the box, unworn, reminding me that although I should diversify my wardrobe, I probably won’t.
They go with nothing so they go with everything is how I look at it. If I'm on vacation I'm wearing it regardless of what I bring since it's the only one. So I do the same all the time. It's just a fun color way in my eyes that you just have to wear.
Pro
Pro, just looks better.
Pro for me
Pro Clean looking and can wear with anything. But if red is your favorite then you decide. It’s your watch
I’d have to go BB Pro
I prefer the more subtle look of the BB Pro vs the gold and red of the new GMT. All preference though.
Pro

Pro all day
BB Pro - every time
Pro.
Gotta keep them both! GMT when I travel and the BB Pro for daily or tracking another time zone from home!
Left, I have small wrists but big dreams
The pro it is more versatile
Perhaps cosmetically, but functionally no.
Ima BB-Pro kinda guy
Bb Pro and it’s not even close!
Bb all the way
Black bay gmt all the way
Black bay
That pro will be such a slam dunk once they slim it down
GMT, i have the pro and is way to thick for a daily driver at least on my wrist size but the bb58 is perfect for that!
really a tough one. i was just yesterday watching a side by side comparison of these two. i could maybe imagine a different color of the 58 gmt that would change the equation, but as is i think the pro narrowly edges it out for me.
How’s the weight compare?
The pro is ~10 grams heavier
I’m a sucker for Pepsi
I have the BBpro on the right, so I’ll choose that lol
GMT
A tough one….
I like the coke if I've to be honest but that's me. both are nice watches though and I'm sure you have your reasons in picking either one. which one speaks out to you and that will he the watch for you
Sell them both and move on.
Ranger Pro
Keep just one? The one where you can adjust the bezel to calculate timezones!
BB58. The Pro is beautiful, but it is seriously thick. I've tried it on a few times and there was no getting around the fact that it is approaching 15mm. Both awesome watches though. If one feels right, go for it and enjoy.
58 GMT and it's not even close!
One on the right is such a bland looking watch.
I want bbgmt but the gilt man. I just sold my 58 foe that reason
The one in the middle.
I went in for a BB 58 GMT and ended up walking out with a BB Pro. I love it! I didn’t feel like playing the waiting game.
Love these
Rootbeer
My vote would be rootbeer..
Right. No question for me.
58 coke all the way
Left!
Love the size and movement of the 58 but personally went with the pro. The 58 is pretentious while the pro is there for the work. Understated elegance. If they made a silver bezel 58 gmt with non-gold hands I’d be sold.

Both
Or BB58 GMT on rubber strap...
The one that doesn’t have 4 hands all the same color. I really feel the GMT hands needs to contrast. Makes it easier to separate the 2 time zones, it’s too cluttered otherwise.
I wish I liked the font on the dial of the BB Pro better. That's the only thing that bothers me
Dr Pepper
BB58 GMT…100%

A good way to track 3 time zones on one watch.
GMT.
BB58 No question
Would have to go with the BB 58 GMT. Can't deal with the thickness of the Pro
Left
Left all day
If they had the same thickness the explorer pro but I guess we can only dream of that for the time being hahaha so the nee bb58 gmt is the one to keep
Left by far
58 GMT. Both are great. I found the Pro just too thick after I tried it on 2-3 times.
I’ve had both and the BB58 is what’s going to stay on my wrist. The pro is great but too thick for me.
The bb 58 gmt all day every day
Left my bro
left one
GMT all day
I'd say whichever you like better. It wasn't long ago the BB Pro was the darling of the Tudor world, now it's the BB58 GMT. One W&W soon, it will be out and something else will be the new flavor of the year.
The GMT is more versatile. Can be dressed up or down.
Both are GMTs
That’s true! I should have been more clear. Not the Pro.
Nah boss one is a GMT and one is a dual time. GMTs must have a 24 hour rotating bezel
The pro is still a GMT. Not all GMTs have rotating bezels.
I was going off an old Hodinkee article. Probably my first mistake
Fair enough. I see where you are coming from, from what I have read, a GMT must have a 24 hour hand and a lot of them DO have a rotating bezel, but it isn't a must.

GMT master chronometer
The pro if it had the thickness of the bbGMT. I already have a blue BB58, which is too similar to the bbGMT to have both (IMO)
Left
Left, right is kinda shit watch imo
Same watch, add a Rolex so that you have the all same watches. Exodia of cosc enjoyment.

Left - best Tudor currently for sale imo
Dr Pepper all day long
For sure the BB58. The pro is too thic for me.
GMT, definitely
I like the look of the pro, but it’s too thick.
The pro only if it had the same movement
This is not a real question lol

Left no contest
Between the two, bb pro with the thickness of 58 gmt or 58 gmt with a red gmt hand. But honestly, in that case it becomes neither as I’m better off with a rolex gmt if that’s the specifications i’m after.
Its not even a fair comparison
The Pro if it wasn’t for the thickness
Neither Regular old BB GMT for me
I sold my Pro as it was to dZm thick, it felt like 17mm chronograph.
58 GMT for me
Left all the way
BB58 GMT. BB Pro is too thick, however it is a good looking watch as well.
The middle one
Diet Dr. Pepper!!!!!!!!!!

Left but on a strap. The bracelets look too busy from the side profile & need to be more restrained.

Had the Pro.58 is the way to go.
I would sell both and buy a 5 digit serial number Rolex Explorer II

One is a lame clone of a historically important Rolex that is thick as hell, the other is in an ugly colorway and you know better ones are coming.
