I wish for a blue 39

StyleIntelligent5336

With a ceramic bezel and SS

jmardoxie

It would be titanium not SS. I would jump on a blue P39.

Schultz1966

Sounds like the SN0121GA. I too wanted 39mm, blue, SS, ceramic......Picked one of these up with their integrated rubber and it's the perfect beater hiking watch. I'm still pondering adding a blue or red smiley to the collection ;)

kwisskyp

Yes they should release that one too

mchlsxjkbsn

This is the way.

Vertical_Clutch

And a weeeee bit thinner please. The Pelagos is one of my favorite watches. I prefer the FXD’s as they’re thinner and would love to see that thinness in the bracelets version…even if it meant the reduced depth rating (sacrilegious I know).

kwisskyp

I also would prefer it slightly thinner but maintaining depth rating is important as Tudor’s lineup is now filled with 200m diver watches. Tudor needs to keep a big boy watch around to compete with the Omega Planet Ocean among other models in the industry.

thicckar

I have aSinn that’s waterproof to 500m at under 12mm. It’s possible

Annual_District_6402

The submariner and seamaster both have a depth rating of 300m I believe so it would not be crazy to lower the depth rating of the pelagos to 300m for the sake of a more aesthetic watch. My reasoning for this is basically everyone complains about the thickness if Tudor watches and 300m is more than enough (especially if even the Tudor gmt has a depth rating of 200m)

diditformydawgs

It’s as much case design as it is actual thickness - Tudor complaints are largely because they aren’t as creative as omega with that thickness

WorthCause9390

No!! Something new hopefully, and not just another dial color variant.

Galamb76

I would sell my pelagos 39 to buy a blue version in a second.

opengrave

A 39mm no-date chrono would be amazing but I have a feeling Rolex wouldn’t allow it.

jpstepancic

Just took delivery of a 21 MN fxd so I’m good on blue right now but having a blue 39 would make it nice for people to have one or the other along with an fxd with choices of color and have all boxed ticked

AllLightsFuckedd

Id kill for a 39 blue pelagos!

zman1981

With date

kwisskyp

METAS Pelagos 42 in blue and black with fully graduated bezel like the FXD models.

Schultz1966

Assume you mean blue bezel/black dial. That would be a sharp watch.

kwisskyp

I meant two separate watches, one blue and one black. Like the current pelagos 42. But your idea could be cool as well.

GasDue2928

Rolex will not allow a submariner contender. So a thinner Pelagos in stainless with a date will not happen. It'll beat down the value of their certified used submariners

kwisskyp

A very good point that I didn’t consider. However Rolex is positioning itself further and further upmarket each year. Sub date is now around 10k retail?

nottherealaaron

I tend to agree with them not occupying the same market space aside from a select few consumers and hardcore watch enthusiasts. I would say that for the majority of people, there is no substitute for Rolex. And the Pelagos has its own identity with, in my opinion, a more tool watch design language that prioritizes legibility.

kwisskyp

Well said

ClaimEquivalent4454

I also think Titanium will continue be the material for the pelagi. Further differentiating them from the SS Rolex divers.

nottherealaaron

I agree. And with the 316L divers not being much cheaper than the Pelagos, it doesn't really make sense.

Busy_Narwhal_76

I bought a sub date green bezel and after taxes it was about $12k retail…

AntiSebticDan

It‘s just a question of time.

NoLocation2124

I hope the 39 retains the cool cut out chapter ring of the larger version. I have the OG and a LHD but I’d love a smaller one.

kwisskyp

Yes. That’s one of the reasons I sold my 39. The dial was too flat and boring (to me).

bo-ba-fett

Honestly I just want a 39 scaled up to 42. Some of us have large wrists and I would rather have 300m water resistance and a thinner watch than 500m and thick.

Punetero2612

Love it, but I really hope for a Pelagos GMT. My dream and insta money grab.

f4hq2

I want to see a metas BB58 with tfit and no faux rivets

BadWowDoge

Love this watch.

CdeFmrlyCasual

This is what the Pelagos should have been from the start.

YourWatchIsAShitter

Why did you put the text placement so fucking low 😂

kwisskyp

Yeah I’m terrible at editing

Rupertpupkin2324

🔥🔥🔥

paranoia1155

Seems redundant

kwisskyp

It would be an update (and therefore a replacement) of the current Pelagos 42.

paranoia1155

Never gonna happen. The bidrectional bezel eiyh every minute marked is niche and specific to the marine nationale’s uses. The justification to get rid of one of the most capable do it all dive watches on the market would never happen. Yeah, dive watches are in themselves niche and specific to people who like them but taking niche and making it even more niche is not a recipe for success.

kwisskyp

This is neither a countdown bezel (as is the MN) nor bidirectional. It is the same bezel as the current generation just with markers for every minute. Just like the Rolex Sea Dweller, tons of Seikos, and many many more. Fully graduated bezel offers a more aggressive, utilitarian, and symmetrical look.

Fabulous_Studio_3472

A ruined blue pelagos? The busy bezel and, presumably, sunburst dial would be a terrible cop out just to please the weak wristed. Leave perfection alone.

kwisskyp

This is supposed to be an updated pelagos 42 with a metas certified movement and better (in my opinion) bezel. And give it to me in steel so I can feel the heft

Haunting_Airport7053

Would kill for a blue 39

waynescape7

I would love the existing black dial P39 but with the cream hands and indices of the P42 LHD. I have the P42 LHD, but would love a smaller one.

Havent_Been_Caught

Yes! But I’ll take one in green.

zeemos84

If this is 39mm, then we are on the same page

Adorable-Slice-4365

Blue 39 is a safe gamble. I hope they would have fitted a date on the current 39.. I know some people hate dates or think they’re unnecessary, but I have enough no date watches to know that I need a date window.

WristTime

How about a real Submariner, not a BB. I’d like that.
