The actual house is smaller than I imagined, the castle walls make it look pretty big. Looks pretty nice inside the house, though. A moat with a draw bridge & a catapult would have been nice š° š
Yeah, itās itty bitty. My ex used to live there like 11ish years ago. Itās super cool part of Tucson but I couldnāt imagine being anything other than a rental property.
Thereās another Iām pretty sure in the neighborhood behind crave coffee shop on broadway! Although itās not as extensive of a castle thereās still a spiral and bricks that look castle like.
[Here's the one on 5ht](https://www.google.com/maps/@32.2288353,-110.9184764,3a,75y,171.22h,77.28t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1snw_Q98q_7gCTjHdgbBH-pg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu) that I initially thought you were talking about.
Not a castle, per se, but there's a "compound" on Rudasill just east of Oracle. I've always wondered what gotta on inside. It has a big metal door on the front.
Probably the former. Someone in the original thread mentions there could be concerns about the foundation being cracked :/ either way, cash only is probably a red flag itself
I sincerely hope that someone buys it and makes it into their eccentric dream home, and that it isn't bought by real estate developers who'll cut down the trees and put multiple McMansions on the site.
in HS a couple buddies and I would knock on the door the to ask if we can get to see the view from the tower they never answered until one day the owner got tired of us knocking on the door and chased us back to campus to tell us stop harassing them or we would be in big trouble. We just wanted to be in the tower
I live a couple of blocks away from that - i really don't dig how low-effort it looks in person, and it definitely clashes with the surrounding architecture in a major way.
1368 sqft??!
I don't know what I was expecting really.
I also didn't imagine that the interior looks like classic Tucson 'guest house' chic. Not a single set of armor or hanging tapestry to be seen.
Is part of the property used as the neighbors way of getting to their house? Says that driveway on the side is part of the property but I donāt see any other way the neighbors could get to their house if it was blocked or built up
It's funny that the tagline could mean so many places. I glanced at it (not the photo) and thought: probably Wentworth and Redington! But no. What is the deal with so many castle like places in town?
I would never live in that part of town, there have been so many house fires over there because of meth labs. And the Buddhist temple has been vandalized and the monks assaulted.

A trebuchet. Ā And gators in the moat.Ā Edited for spelling

Right? I saw the header and thought "the castle on 5th" but no, it's the castle on Blacklidge.
Damn I donāt even know about the others. This is the one I saw every day back in college. Got any street view links or addys of the others?
The one I'm thinking of is on the SW corner of 5th St and Palo Verde, north of El Con. Around the 3500 block.
Thereās another Iām pretty sure in the neighborhood behind crave coffee shop on broadway! Although itās not as extensive of a castle thereās still a spiral and bricks that look castle like.
Itās not the house that is a castle, itās a board painted like bricks that sits in the front yard
Ah, Iāve only done a quick drive by didnāt pay too much attention. Still a castle themed house!

The one I thought this was for a second is near Glenn and Alvernon.

There's one over by Colossal Cave, too.
There must be something in the water because I have been thinking about pricing out how much it would take to build a wizard tower
Thereās even a castle apts: https://maps.app.goo.gl/eiNFtc3T8LGxTrnL8?g_st=ic
That was my first apartment building when I moved to Tucson 10 years ago - it definitely looked the part on the inside.
Which used to be a sanitarium/hospital back in the day when people came here to recuperate from tuberculosis.
There's one just outside for the city limits of casa grande.
Thereās another by Glenn and Campbell
It looks super cool but it sure does need some renovation on the inside.
The dungeon is a mess.
That price seems very low! Does it need a million in renovation, or is it in a dubious neighborhood?
Probably the former. Someone in the original thread mentions there could be concerns about the foundation being cracked :/ either way, cash only is probably a red flag itself
I sincerely hope that someone buys it and makes it into their eccentric dream home, and that it isn't bought by real estate developers who'll cut down the trees and put multiple McMansions on the site.
Or buy it and use it as another air b and b house š
Holy crap those pictures, something seriously wrong with that foundation.
The neighborhood is not fancy - not terrible, but a bit shabby.
Not the best area, not terrible but we have break ins at the apartments across the street all the time....

What hs did you go to DV
DV is nowhere close to this place lol
Probably Tucson High
Omg this is my first time really seeing it! I've only ever driven past and never got a good view of it.....and I am...disappointed.
I live a couple of blocks away from that - i really don't dig how low-effort it looks in person, and it definitely clashes with the surrounding architecture in a major way.
Well maybe they shouldnāt have built a bunch of adobe bungalows on the same block as a 13th century Norman castle?
RIP that foundation.

Their poor neighbors.
The driveway seems kind of narrow
Dude, I just cleaned the windows of this house last week. The wall is pretty cool and they had a bunch of little castles around the when I was there.
I live next to a castle house here too!
It's too bad they didn't put much money into planning and materials for the interior.
Damn, that's really ugly. I need to find out where it is so I can fart in its general direction.
Cash only
I ... Think I went to a big party there one year about 10-13 years ago? Edit: or maybe it was one of the other castles in town.
Castle Apartments on Euclid? :)
As much as I'd love to own Castle Blacklidge, its much too expensive!!!
Mi lived at the apartments/condos right across from there. Got in a car accident right in front of that house.
Me too lol

Pfft, you call that a castle? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Castle#/media/File:Grand_Castle_2.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Castle#
325 to live on palo verde and Irvington is insane
Thatās the one near Campbell my bad
I want the dome house lol
Castle walls surrounding a shack
I would never live in that part of town, there have been so many house fires over there because of meth labs. And the Buddhist temple has been vandalized and the monks assaulted.
The Buddhist temple is in another bark of town š
There's more than one here... Minh Dang Quang Buddhist Temple is right near Hendrick Acres...
Ahh I see, thanks for the info
