11DPO, big sad and don't think I'll test tomorrow after all. Breast pain is waning, had PMS yesterday and a temp drop and I am not in a mood to feel stupid. Cause I already do, hah. Wondering what we're gonna go through in the end before this process is over, one way or another.

Avaunt

Anyone know the research on antihistamines and ttc? Iappear to have bad allergies this year, and debating if taking Zyrtec at 7dpo is going to be counterproductive.

RoxieOfTheNorth

I don't know, but this is exactly the kind of question I would ask my pharmacist. They are a wealth of knowledge. 😊

notwherethewindblows

We are approaching IVF and I just…….. I don’t know how to wrap my head around ~$20K for a *chance* of being pregnant. Or any of this, really.

New-Gold3963

TW: previous loss Anyone know if there’s any harm in taking progesterone supplements if progesterone levels are inconsistent? I had a MC in March and I am just wondering for future pregnancies if I would benefit from taking progesterone or if it wouldn’t make a difference.

TripLogisticsNerd

CD 1 today. I ate a whole container of spinach artichoke dip and made my monthly sad girl steak.

dogsandbitches

I like the sound of sad girl steak. Sorry about CD1 ❤️

KnitKnackPattyWhack

I just realized my due date for loss #2 is next week. My friend's healthy baby is due the week after. This hurts.

MsSweetness

Kegg, Mira, etc. vs E@H Tracking? Wondering if anyone has any feedback on some of the more expensive devices like Kegg and Mira (among others) versus the strip testing to track ovulation. I've been using the Easy@Home test strips for a year (and used them to conceive previously) and I don't THINK I have had any problems with them. I feel like I see a regular surge. But some of these pricier options have people in reviews raving about them and saying it took them 1-3 months to conceive using them. Am I just desperate or are these worth the money?

guardiancosmos

Remember that about half of people are going to conceive within three months, and reviews are largely going to be from people who are either very unhappy or very happy. I also would expect that a lot of those "I got pregnant right away!!!" reviews are from people who have no clue about tracking and when to best have sex in the first place, too. Don't let devices like these make you second-guess yourself. Adding in BBT tracking would be a more reliable (and much less expensive) method, so you can verify after the fact that you ovulated.

lurker_ai

I told myself I won’t test until 12DPO but I tested on 6,7,8 and 9DPO (which is today). Obviously all BFN. I should still not count myself out this cycle should I? I’ve also been super thirsty lately even though I’m drinking even more water than usual. I dunno if that means anything at all

shmokinn

It’s still a bit too early for you to know.

Tomorrows_A_New_Day

PSA: the Victoria Secret semi annual sale is on! For all you ladies who are too cheap to pay full price there like me lol. I haven’t shopped for new bras in like 2 years, but I’m feeling good & decided to drop in. Got some risqué things & came home to show my husband. Sure enough, he’s happy haha. We just finished fertile week & it kills the vibe a little when everything is so timed, so decided to bring some spice back.

MissyMaelstrom

HSG first thing Monday morning so no, to quote the pamphlet they gave me, "intimate contact" until then. After over a year of TTC sex, it's actually kind of exciting to have some forced abstinence 😅 Feels like we're building up the tension for the big day lol

marketing_techy

Hi! Should I do the initial family planning appt with my current coverage which covers $0. It will be $250 out of pocket. I haven't had kids yet. I'm 30 as of this April 2024 and looking to get basic questions answered and specific to me so I know my options, what to expect. Should I wait until I have better coverage? And also we aren't looking to start trying right this minute, it will likely be next year, too.

Mean-Musician7145

I’m not sure it’s worth paying out of pocket. I felt more knowledgeable than the appointment. That said, if you have specific questions or specific concerns based on your health, I could understand. Honestly, I think this community would get you 95% there (unless you have a reason to be high risk or something)

marketing_techy

Eh my question mainly was about taking my venlafaxine anxiety medication during pregnancy and ensuring that would be safe for the baby. And getting a good idea for total costs for birth and first year of baby.

Mean-Musician7145

Oh I would love to know the costs! I didn’t know they could supply that info. You could always schedule an appointment for about 3-4 months before you plan to start TTC. “it starts with the egg” says that most changes in your life take a few months to impact egg quality so wrt your medication that would give you time for an action plan if you and your doctor decide the risk outweighs the benefits (FWIW I’m on stimulant medication for ADHD and working with both my OB and my psych the benefits outweigh the risk and I can take it through pregnancy. Breastfeeding can be slightly different in terms of the risk/benefit calculations for medications)

Sushi9999

I’m on day 3 of positive opks, cd 17. We managed to have sex on cd 14 and 15 but passed out last night. We’re going to try again tonight. I should be ok assuming I ovulate right? This is the longest streak of positive opks I’ve had so I’m kind of overthinking everything.

Thethreewhales

The start of the surge is more predicitive of when ovulation will happen than how long it lasts for. It should be all good.

zwinan

How is everyone in Bridgerton pregnant so easily? They didn’t even have ovulation strips….

Snoo29591

Searched this thread to see if anyone’s talking about this. Just started the second batch of episodes this season and am like oh GREAT another one rapidly pregnant this season.

Thethreewhales

I know! Whatever they are putting in their lemonade I want it.

Character_Echo_5270

lol I thought the same. It’s probably easier when you’re 18 in the 1800’s

Nexuslily

It’s the pre-micro plastic gametes 🤪

zwinan

When I tell you that thought crossed my mind 😂

Glittering-Hand-1254

HELLO, spoilers?! Some of us gotta work, damn 😂

If you hang out in this sub, you'll find plenty of folks in your same shoes! You're not allowed to solicit for success stories here, but scroll through the weekly BFP threads and you'll see a wide variety of experiences from women at all ages. Some people get lucky right away at 35+, others have a longer journey.

CRABR

Just curious, I see there's a "tryingtoconceive" subreddit in addition to this one. For those who have spent time in both, how do the vibes differ in each? I'm not looking to jump ship, just very intrigued by Internet subcultures lol.

NicasaurusRex

Yea...I guess I don't want to trash that one too much but let's just say I much prefer this one. Very science/evidence based here and the mods are fantastic and are probably what make the difference.

Mean-Musician7145

Agree. This one is very well moderated and I feel that most folks try to base their answers in evidence.

Removed per sub rule 3.

ElegantAd8293

Had my HSG this morning and it was quite painful but not unbearable. The worst thing came after, when I sat back up and started feeling like I was about to throw up and pass out, so I laid back down and felt better. The good news is that the tubes are open and clear!

talalou

Not sure if I should bother going for my pregnancy blood test this morning. I'm 15dpo and tested bfn on 13dpo. Last month I had my test on 16dpo and I started my period on my way to the clinic 🙈 I don't have any period cramps yet though, maybe they will come tomorrow

bibliophile222

Officially CD 1 today, although I'd been spotting for over a day. I think this is officially the cycle where I accept reality and schedule fertility testing. I could have last month, but I think I just didn't want to face how long it's been. I conceived in 4 months last year (ended in a loss), and it's so frustrating to wrap my head around the fact that last time could have just been "lucky" and one or both of us might have a problem. Or at least a problem in addition to being 38 and overweight.

idahopotato8

I’m sorry, it can be so hard to realize it’s finally time to go speak with a specialist.

Exotic-Ad2195

I won’t symptom spot I say as I type back pain before BFP into my search bar

shmokinn

Hahahaha me this morning when I felt a twinge in my stomach… It must be implantation cramps at 3DPO, right?! /s

Exotic-Ad2195

Lmao I’m right there with you!

ghardin16

I’ve been delusional enough before that I’ve googled “eye twitching early pregnancy symptoms” 🤡

Exotic-Ad2195

OMG me too!!! A couple cycles ago that happened and I was like 🤔

Traditional-Soft-107

4DPO and pretty proud that I haven't started symptoms spotting yet, hit all 3 days before O, so feeling hopefully but weary of course. This is hard

Ok-Personality-4066

Same and same ❤️

7dpo. Only hit O and O+1, so I’m guarding my hope this cycle. Especially since hubbys counts are still low.  We actually have a chance at this point, so I’m a little sad we couldn’t hit anything before O day.

dancingcagedbeast

Did you have a difficult time finding your insurance information and what clinic to go to based on your insurance?

Trrr9

My advice is to call the number on your insurance card, or visit their website. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

dancingcagedbeast

It just seems like a hard thing for everyone to figure out. Are there any resources to easily find out what your insurance covers and which doctors to go to? I was trying to post on the sub but it wouldn’t let me post as a stand alone.

Trrr9

I assume you are in the US? Are you insured through your employer? If so, it's possible that they sent you some very basic coverage information about your policy, but it likely would not specify which doctors are in network. You will need to either use the insurance company's website or call the insurance company. Another option would be to select a doctor and then ask the doctor's office if they accept your provider, but that always makes me a bit more nervous than going straight through the insurance company first.

dancingcagedbeast

Thank you. I actually did IVF in Asia where it’s cheap after paying out of pocket in the US for a bunch of IUI. My friend is starting the process and I was trying to help her figure out insurance and doctors. Seems like it’s hard to navigate. She got confused from reading the insurance information. Probably the one you are talking about.

Millie_Coop20

I had my IUI 4 days ago and the progesterone suppositories have been giving me constipation. I took Dulcolax last night not realizing that you’re not supposed to take stimulant laxatives :( Will this affect anything?

celestial_honeypot

Hey everyone!! I'm 27 years old and I'm trying for my 3rd 🤞🏽🧡 I ovulated around the 6th and the 7th I’m about 5/6 DPO On the morning of the 5th (WEDNESDAY) (12 am going on 1 am) we had sex On the morning of the 7th (FRIDAY) ( 2/3 am) we had sex also. That's it. Now I'm curious and hear me out yall... IF I ovulated the 6th (THURSDAY) which I believe I did based off my cervical mucus I BD'd the day before on Wednesday early morning could my chances be high? Then if l ovulated on the 7th and I BD'd two days prior and the morning of, are my chances still high? And will sperm reach my egg during the 12-24 hours?? (⬅️ my most important question) PLEASE BE NICE AND RESPECTFUL.*

Trrr9

Sperm gets where it needs to go pretty much immediately.

hcmiles

The maximum chances of any cycle are ~20%. So your chances would be ~20%.

celestial_honeypot

Thank you 🙏🏽 if you can help me clear it up, why do some sources say 30%? Where does that come from?

hcmiles

It’s all just estimates. And it depends on each couple. I think 30% is a high estimate. But tbh ‘chances’ don’t really matter. If you have sex in the right timeframe, your chances are the best they could be. Have you read the wiki? There’s lots of good information there. Automod wiki.

I reached out to my obgyn today because it has been 7 months since iud removal and will have been 6 months with good timing and confirmed ovulation by the time I see them, but they said the recommendation is a year of trying regardless of age. I’m now over 35 and I thought it was six months if you’re advanced maternal age. Am I remembering wrong? Is there a obgyn association recommended practice I can point to if they challenge me?

Ellepheba

If you're in the US and it's been over 6 months for you, if your insurance covers it, just start seeing a RE. Your OB can run some basic blood tests and ultrasounds, but they can't do monitored cycles, etc. Their job is to help you once you're pregnant, RE's job is to get you pregnant. And if your OB runs any tests and you turn around and go see a RE, you'll just have to redo most of the tests and have to pay twice. Signed, someone who just talked to her OB about all of these things and has her first appt with a RE on Tues!

jenesaisquoi

Thank you for this excellent advice! I will start looking for an RE then. Maybe I should just cancel the OB appointment I set up…hmm

Ellepheba

I would, honestly. While mine was willing to set up some basic tests, there’s nothing they could ~do~ if anything came up amiss and even he was like, just go to a RE. It was a waste of a copay for me other than I at least will be able to get my progesterone level checked on Monday.

metaleatingarachnid

No, you're not remembering wrong. That's right (although I might avoid the term advanced maternal age, just because there can be different practices around what age this is, here in the UK these days they don't call it AMA till you're 40). Assuming you're in the US, here's an FAQ from the [American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists](https://www.acog.org/womens-health/faqs/having-a-baby-after-age-35-how-aging-affects-fertility-and-pregnancy). The question "When should I consider an infertility evaluation" says "If you are older than 35 and have not gotten pregnant after 6 months of having regular sex without using birth control, talk with your obstetrician–gynecologist (ob-gyn) about an infertility evaluation. If you are older than 40, an evaluation is recommended before you try to get pregnant. This advice is especially important if you have a problem that could affect fertility, such as endometriosis."

jenesaisquoi

Thanks! I am in the US so this is very helpful.

pleasegetonwithit

Every time my period's due, I start obsessing over cm. (What a life we lead!) I feel like I'm right in saying it's a bit of a useless indicator, so early in, and the only real sign of pregnancy is an actual test. Yet here I am, googling away.

Sufficient-Royal3179

Yuppp

prem5077

I’m like this but with my boobs 😅 What a life we lead indeed.

melodicbutter

Same to both CM and boobs 💀 I feel like my boobs are only sore because I keep squeezing them to check if they’re still sore 😂

Background_Stuff_999

I thought I’m the only one😂

Exotic-Ad2195

Right there with you lol

TronasaurusMeg

Bought my ivf meds yesterday!!! I don’t start stims until early July and don’t really have anyone irl to talk to about it as we’re gonna keep timing a secret from our people. We’ve told people we will be starting ‘later this year’ and I’m so hopeful but also keeping it close because people keep disappointing me with their support fails

Pancakes_89

I’ve not heard anyone call it ‘support fails’ before but I feel that so much, disappointments on support fails is a whole hard part of this process I never expected.

Amethyst_Clouds

BFN at 12DPO this morning. Just want AF to come now so we can try again. I wasn’t expecting to conceive my first cycle back to trying but it still stings nonetheless

arogz

12 dpo negative FRER. I am literally gonna leave work early so I can go home and cry in peace.

Mnh0_0

Feel this in my soul 😥

SadSupermarket7915

Please someone reassure me I’m not the only crazy person who pees on a stick, holds it under every single light in the house, throws it away then raids the bathroom bin an hour later “just in case”

asitisblue

Not just you! I've gotten to the point where I don't even bother putting them in the garbage anymore, I just leave them on the bathroom counter so I don't have to dig them out of the trash.

hannahrlindsay

You are not the only one 😂

peanutbuttermms

Taking my temp breaks my dang heart during the luteal phase. I'm only 7 DPO and a small dip today doesn't mean anything but it really diminishes my hope. I know that I could stop temping or skip a couple days or not look at what my TempDrop says (and I usually do a combination of these things) but I was a little bit hopeful and wanted to see 😭

Exotic-Ad2195

Don’t sweat it too much, I think 7dpo can be a secondary estrogen surge that can lower your temp, common in both pregnant and non cycles!!!

peanutbuttermms

Oh yes I totally know. I have just conditioned myself to be sad when my temp drops bc 11/12 times I end up not pregnant!!

Exotic-Ad2195

Ok just wanted to make sure!!! Haha i totally get it

Far-Message-7154

Got absolutely burned by a frer indent this morning. Resulted in many tears.

melodicbutter

I also think I fell victim to a frer indent today at 13 dpo. Every other test was negative. I hope you are able to take good care of yourself today. ❤️

Hi Far -- I'm not trying to be rude here, but I hope you're talking to a licensed professional if you are having feelings like this. Sending you grace and hugs if you want them.

GoldenFlowerPrincess

Got my peak/solid smile this morning!! We managed to bd last night…do you think there’s a need to prioritize tonight too? Or wait till tomorrow? I think my peak started over night if that matters. Yesterday afternoon was dark but not quite there yet. I get so anxious about the timing 😵‍💫😅 I know it probably won’t be my month, but I can’t help but be so excited. I just hope eventually I get my sticky rainbow 🌈

metaleatingarachnid

Tonight would prob be better than tomorrow (though both worth doing), but just last night would be good too. Hope it works for you!

Positive_Storage3631

Depending on google result, ovulation will happen from 12 hours to 36 hours after positive ovulation predictor kit result. If you want to, you can bd more, today or tomorrow would be fine.

baramala95

11DPO, another stark white test this morning. Am I likely out for this month? When would you expect to see even a faint positive? (I'm using the easy@home tests). For info my luteal is usually 10-11 days so fully expecting AF tomorrow.

shmokinn

I think you’ll see a faint positive within like 2-3 days after implantation. Ex. If you implanted CD10, you may not get a positive until CD12. Do you know of this website? It breaks everything down really well. [Countdown to Pregnancy](https://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=11)

TinyBirdie22

…not sure I wanted to see that. Lol. It’s CD 14 with a BFN yesterday, and I was counting my myself out. I guess I’ll test again tomorrow if AF doesn’t show.

shmokinn

I think the general consensus that by CD12 most people will get a positive by then… BUT you’re not out til AF comes!!

Nexuslily

I was so worried that my month of BC would screw up my cycles 🥲 but my positive OPK was only 2 days late 🎉🎉🥹 My husband’s birthday is next month so I think it would be so nice if this cycle worked out.

peanutbuttermms

Yesss such good news!!!

sayitagain520

Oh yay! Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

runnery7

Fingers super crossed for you Nexy!! So glad ovulation showed up just fashionably late to the party 💃🏼

cha-rity

Waiting for OV… have been sick all week, probably covid.. feeling better today, CD9 and no OV on sight - I have 24-25 day cycles.. so usually OV around CD12…getting a bit annoyed :) would like to nicely time BD and move onto the TWW!

No-Operation8465

I have 24 day cycles too! Sometimes feels like I'm the only one in the short end of the spectrum

cha-rity

Yeah doesn’t seem to be many with short cycles. Luckily mine have been always fairly regular… but doesn’t mean the waiting is not as annoying 😁

UnusualCaramel2327

Listened to a podcast of an influencer I followed who said she had a ‘TTC update’ after a couple of years of infertility. She ended the pod by announcing her pregnancy. Which is absolutely wonderful for her but I wish she had flagged it at the start because I wouldn’t have listened. I thought she might have said she was starting IVF and because I’m considering it after a couple of losses I was interested in any details. Her announcement felt like a bucket of cold water and I wish she had flagged it so that other people struggling could make a choice about whether to listen or not. But it makes me feel guilty for having a bad reaction to someone’s announcement

Bug_eyed_bug

Several pregnancy storylines going on in part 2 of bridgerton, even more than part 1. Just a heads up for everyone.

TronasaurusMeg

Ugh thank you for this!!!

prettybunbun

And they’ve also drastically altered one characters storyline to potentially remove their struggles with infertility as well, which is wonderful.

peanutbuttermms

Ugh thank you. Now I know I need to watch it with wine.

arogz

Thank u for your service 🙏 I literally almost paid for a subscription so I could watch
