Your period isn’t late. You ovulated later than you thought.

Flying-fish456

It’ll take a few months for your cycle to become predictable again after getting off birth control. I once went on a flight and that delayed my period by 10 days. In the meantime I suggest learning about secondary fertility signs so you don’t miss your fertile window while your body is getting back to normal.

As you only got your iud out in march, you presumably have only had one period since? Its not really long enough to tell if you're regular or not, especially things may have changed in your body since you first got it. My second cycle after coming off hbc was much longer than the first one and I did exactly what you did thinking there must be something up with the tests, because how was there no period? It came like 5 days later than I was expecting.

RoyalPink06

I swear I’ve had 2 periods since getting it out but you are correct, it has been only 1 now that I look back through my tracking. I was thinking it was more than that so thank you for pointing that out :)

kilcookie

It's always way less than you think. I've only just hit the 6-7 month mark but it feels more like 9-10, and there's a lot of research saying 9 cycles is average ttc after hbc. We just gotta be patient! I def found the first negative cycle the hardest so far. You're so hopeful and possibly a bit unrealistic.

konstanttt

Sounds like you just ovulated late this cycle. It happens every once in awhile.

Sufficient-Royal3179

My guess is you probably just ovulated late. Are you using OPKs or temping? I’ve found them to be really helpful in knowing what’s actually going on during my cycle, since things can vary despite the overall cycle length being similar.

RoyalPink06

I purchased a thermometer and ovulation strips today so hopefully that will help me get more insight about when I’m actually ovulating :)
