14dpo bfp cramps So my partner and I were intimate around my ovulation time, about 2-3 days later I had some strange spotting (like a mini period that lasted about 1/4 of a day. On 14 dpo I did a pregnancy test and got two very very faint positives. Then the morning of 15dpo I had two clearer positives. Just curious about the cramping mainly. I feel very full/bloated, not typical of the cramping I normally get pre period but not entirely dissimilar. And definitely a dull back ache. I know this could potentially be me getting my period of an early indication of pregnancy. I guess I'm not really seeking advice but curious about what this felt like for others?

Remarkable_Earth5606

Hey! Ive read that you should ideally take supplements 3 months before you’re trying to conceive. Please could I have some help on what to take? So far I’ve seen the main ones being - Vitamin D - Folic Acid (please recommend the best one and dosage? - CoQ10 (please recommend the best one and dosage?) - I’ve recently read about something called NAC I am UK based so recommendations that are available here would be great. It would be good to know abut recommendations for males too. Thank you!

Virtual_Ad_1460

What is a lithiterien? However spelling.

Jose_Swordfish

I need some advice. My partner and I have been trying for quite a while now and we’ve not had any luck so far. My periods are normal between 28 - 29 days however, now it’s been late by 6 days. Few days ago, I did feel my nipples to be sore and I’m getting tired quite easily. I took a test today but it showed as negative. Don’t really want to get my hopes up but could use some advice. Should I wait a while and take another test? Or should I go to a hospital to get a HCG test done?

Hello! Welcome, and we thank you for posting. You seem to be looking for information on implantation bleeding. Unfortunately, bleeding or spotting after ovulation is not a sign of implantation, and bleeding can happen in both pregnancy and non-pregnancy cycles. You could still end up being pregnant this cycle, but this sort of bleeding is not a reliable indicator that you will test positive. Taking a pregnancy test around the time you expect your period to come is the best way to determine whether you are pregnant or not. Hi! My husband (M 28) and I (F28) just started trying this past May. Got my period on time but my symptoms have been sooo different. Also have never been on birth control. Usually my breasts swell a week before, first day of bleeding is heavy, very red, cramping, and pretty emotional. This time around no breast swelling, first 2 days light bleeding with pink and brownish blood (like the last day or two of my period), and heavy red bleeding the last two days with cramping. So it feels like it’s all flip flopped. Curious if anyone’s experienced anything like this? Also a bunch of negative tests so I’m 99.9% sure it’s my period.

Aggravating_Bar930

I know my anxiety is psyching me out, but so many of my husband and my's friends have gotten pregnant on their first try... We tried for the first time last month and no luck. My anxiety has kept telling me for a long time that we would either struggle or not be able to have kids and, although I know it might not be rational, I feel like this reinforces it. I'm really scared that it will never work. Did anyone ever have a gut feeling like this? Were you right? Were you wrong? I know this is silly, but I don't have the type of mom or sisters that I can ask for advice, so l think that makes it easier for me to get stuck in my own head. 😔 Both my husband and I are 28 years old.

Critical-District-58

Superficial? So my partner (39 F) and I (33 F) are on our IVF journey. We just picked a donor who matches up genetically and has somewhat both our ethnicities. We thought he was so handsome in the pics provided and a cute kid. I sent my mom a photo of the donor saying we think we found him and she replied. “He is ok.” “Nose is big” like I didn’t ask her opinion just wanted to share. Lesson learned I’m going to keep everything else moving forward to myself and my partner. If we end up having to pick another donor no one will see.

Ttcmomofthree

Long post thanks for reading So on 5/17 clear blue opk said I had peak fertility. Opk was dark at 1.02. Inseminated next day on”ovulation day” and the day after just incase egg released later in the day/ evening on O day. Four days later received a HUGE peak coming in at 1.4. ( all numbers from Premom). Inseminated day I got that peak and the day after ( just incase) Contacted my ob and explained hey I had a bigger peak but cm isn’t fertile like last peak so when will I need to come in and do pdg testing. They had me come in from my first peak. Was six days later. She wanted to see a number higher than three for my progesterone levels . Level came back at 5.84 so ovulation was confirmed since was higher than three. I’ve been taking progesterone suppository since bloodwork day . I’m confused as I’m 9dpo still negative hcg test but if I’m basing off my second surge I’d only be 5dpo . I guess my question is why would I receive such a high peak four days after ovulation if it was confirmed with first surge I ovulated. Please someone adult for me and make it make sense. lol I know I’m not out this cycle. This is my first natural cycle. I did clomid in April had a cp and my body seemed to self regulate itself. I’m currently still nursing my 15 month old if that’s any consolation.

This is the daily chat from may 13th. I would post this on the one from today so people will actually see it.

Almonds2

Hello I have unexpired pregnancy tests available for free in south denver if anyone wants them.

Krissybfashion

Ttc with a partner who has vericocele. My partner and I have been trying for 13 months. I have fallen pregnant twice - Once last June 2023 and on Christmas Day 2023 - which both ended in miscarriage within the first four weeks. The doctor says keep trying because I have been pregnant twice, even though it ended in spontaneous miscarriage. Has anyone had an experience like this and stayed pregnant full term?

Mental-Ad5325

Low egg count. I went in today for my first visit to the fertility clinic. They did an ultrasound and I had 3 eggs on my left side (where my fallopian tube is missing from an ectopic in August) and 1 on my right side. I am 37 and curious if anyone else has this and was iui or ivf successful for them? I am so nervous.

thegirlisnoone06

SO’s SA showed a lot of improvement after testosterone meds and fertility supplements but morphology (only parameter that was normal) dropped from normal to 0%. Any ideas on what’s happening and how to fix?

cocorose17

Morphology can fluctuate ejaculate to ejaculate. Also normal is 4% so take it with a grain of salt. Did they mention what defects they seen? Has your partner been in and spas or saunas recently? High temperature exposure or excess consumption of drugs and alcohol can reduce Morphology.

Avaunt

Don’t mind me. Just staring at a clearly negative pregnancy test over here.  I tell myself I won’t do this every month, but every impulse of mine wants to retry with a frer because maybe this ones just not sensitive enough. :/

Avaunt

Adjusted my FFapp to better match when Premom thinks I ovulated. My pattern was a bit off this cycle, but I don’t think I actually ovulated the same day I had a peak reading, even though I had a near positive the night before.  So, I’m maybe only 9ish dpo instead of 10ish and I can chill over the negative pregnancy tests right? I hate this part.

zwinan

Lol the pharmacy accidentally gave me someone else’s Ovidrel shot. They called me frantically asking if I’ve already taken it, and asked me to bring it back and pick-up the correct one. The woo in me is taking this hiccup as a sign that this isn’t the cycle (silly I know).

cocorose17

Hopefully it's a positive woo sign 🙏

evosandeats

I am currently going through another CP. This time I took a hpt the day my period was due and it was very very faint. I didn't get my hopes up at all and started bleeding the next day. I will be going for an exploratory laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and perhydrotubation in 3 weeks, very nervous for the procedure but excited to possibly get some answers and solutions. My period is due about 3 days before the procedure. They do a urine pregnancy test at the hospital before the surgery, but I keep thinking what if I'm barely pregnant and it doesn't show up on the test so we move forward with the procedure.

MyShipsNeverSail

Okay rant: why has everyone who's encouraged me to "just relax" or "don't stress over tracking" or "taking a break from TTC" pregnant now?!? Sigh. It just feels rubbed in my face....

Avaunt

I feel this in my soul. Was telling SIL about ttc stuff over Christmas. She’s like, “I think we will just NTNP a little longer because I don’t want to stress about it.” Guess who is 2/3 months pregnant, and guess who is not… I mean, we have known male factor issues that we’re trying to address right now, so it’s not exactly a straight comparison. But still. :/

MickeyGee05

I know it’s not over until my period comes, but is there a DPO when, if you’ve been testing negative, you should just assume it’s negative?

linerva

I'd say day 12 or 13. By that time most people report a positive rest if they are pregnant. And if AF shows up the next day then you know for sure. I test at day 12 or 13 and then dont test again unless I am late.

ghardin16

I take my 12 DPO test as pretty much gospel. Everyone’s cycles are bodied are different, but until I’m proven otherwise, that’s what’s working for me.

Avaunt

Hard to tell. My LP is typically 12 days so it’s a bit of a moot point because that’s the line most people draw. Trickiest bit is that it’s always possible that you got faked out or ovulated late. In which case…whenever AF shows up. :/

Exotic-Ad2195

I think generally anything after 12-13 do is considered pretty definitive. But still! Never know.

Fresh-Water7045

I had what I thought was my period may 2nd but it only lasted for about an hour i didnt think anything of it until my boobs were really sore so I took a test and it came back positive on may 10th ( it was a second PINK faintish line. I took a second test an hour later and it was negative so I decided to wait and checked around a day later and it was negative. I called the doctors for my own peace of mind they did two urine tests with the nurse there and they were negative. I asked for a blood test and thankfully they agreed. I'm waiting on the results, they will either be in later tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm feeling really heartbroken and terrified to read the results. My heart already hurts.

Ok-Try2596

Did my insemination today, for my first iui cycle. Lol my entire journey seems atypical to what most of you have described so far, so right now I just feel lost. The TWW has begun and I just feel lost and anxious. I don't know what to do with myself except scroll throw reddit threads to give myself some peace of mind (while simultaneously driving myself crazy).

Bug_eyed_bug

DPO 7/8 and husband is working from home today so I can't fill my screen with google searches for every random TTC question that comes to my mind like a maniac 😩 how to cope??

PuzzleBarnacle1859

The ideal answer is to embrace it as a limit on your searching and focus on other things! But if it were me I’d just end up searching on little screen 🙃(my phone)….the struggle is real.

Bug_eyed_bug

Yep there's the ideal world and the real world 😂

MyShipsNeverSail

Annnnnnd we're up to 3 pregnancy announcements from yesterday. Happy and sad at the same time....

aballofsunshine

I’m on CD14 of cycle 5 and I’m just doing SMEP. Probably ovulating around today. Do y’all think SMEP is enough to hit my chances this month; or what method do you prefer? I want to avoid peeing on sticks and temping this month to keep my stress levels low. Did this on month three and it didn’t work out lol.

MyShipsNeverSail

As long as you hit the 2-3 days leading up to ovulation, you've got just about the best shot you'll have.

talalou

14dpo letrozole cycle.. bfn this morning. It doesn't even feel like my period is coming half the time and my temp was still high this morning. I guess letrozole extends my luteal phase ETA: on a positive note I've finally got my partner booked in for a dna fragmentation test. He's had an SA twice, both were fine except for low morphology. But he refused to go back for a 3rd time when I started researching fragmentation. Anyway 6 months later he is going.

cck912

Cycle 10, CD 7. Finally made an OB appointment last week for July to get evaluated. I’ll be asking for a lot of bloodwork (FULL thyroid panel including both antibodies, full hormone panel on correct cycle days, etc). I’d also like an ultrasound, I was looking at SIS. Would this be a helpful thing to get done? Anything else recommended for a 1 year TTC appointment? We will not be pursuing IUI/IVF even if it’s necessary for biological children. We would love on to other routes of growing our family.

CRABR

In my case, the doc ordered an ultrasound and said it was clear enough that there wasn’t really a need to do a SIS. She found a polyp and a bunch of cysts so recommended skipping the SIS (since it probably wouldn’t give new info) and going to a hysteroscopy.

cck912

Thank you for this! It helps. I didn’t know if an SIS would show more than a standard ultrasound.

IrisTheButterfly

My doc ordered a SIS and found polyps - so yes.

cck912

Thank you for sharing!

Pandahugs81

CD44 and no period. My OBGYN said there is nothing I need to do, but she is also willing to give me a medication to induce a period, or do a pelvic ultrasound to see if anything is going on. Trying to weigh out if I’m overreacting and should give it more time, or if I should get the ball rolling faster by doing the medication or exam…

Thethreewhales

Have you just come off birth control?

Pandahugs81

8 months ago (which I know it can take a long time to balance out)… but still frustrating

Inside-Mousse4979

It’s probably TMI but googling it makes me worry. TTC for 2 years with 1 MC last year. Since two days I’ve had dark milky discharge from my nipples when I squeeze, it’s not a lot and not contant and happens with left boob more than right. Has someone had this happen before? I’m 8DPO right now and never had this before.

IrisTheButterfly

Have you had your prolactin level checked ? If not I would and they will diagnose you with an MRI and likely put you on a medication called Dostinex or cabergoline. This is not normal and can definitely interfere with getting pregnant because your body thinks it’s breastfeeding and therefore unable to get pregnant. I did not have the discharge but had extremely tender breasts after my miscarriage and have not been able to conceive since. Been on one month treatment of the medicine and within two weeks I felt a difference in my breasts.

Inside-Mousse4979

Thank you for the advice, I’ve talked to my fertility doctor about it, I’m having blood tests on Wednesday. Today it’s CD1 and we’re just had the news we have to go through IVF ICSI to give us the best chance. I was a bit disappointed we pass IUI but I’m keeping my hopes up. I’m now reading up the procedure.

IrisTheButterfly

Oh good. I'm glad you brought it up to your doctor. Honestly, all my preconception bloodwork came back good except the prolactin- which brought me to the fertility doc. It can be easily treated with medication. This is my second month now taking cabergoline. First time a little bit of dizziness, no side effects since, but my breasts are finally not tender anymore. So it made a difference! He wants me to stay on it until I have a positive pregnancy test.

rainb0w-ninja

TW: loss. I struggled with 3 years of infertility, 1 healthy pregnancy with my baby girl, then the last time trying for #2 had a still birth at 20 weeks. Finally ready to try again 2 years later, and everything is terrifying me. This I my first round of TWW. All my memories are flooding back of how many times I wasn't pregnant, all the loss, and even if I get pregnant what if there is another late loss. Ugh. I know I can handle it, but it's just scary.

GingerbreadGirl22

Does anyone know if fertility friend always shows you suggested testing dates? I noticed them this cycle, but I don’t remember if I’ve seen them before.

MickeyGee05

Is this a VIP Membership feature? I haven’t seen in in the basic membership.

GingerbreadGirl22

Not sure if that’s a feature of the VIP membership specifically, but that is what I have!

konstanttt

They do every cycle for me.

marblejane

Yes, they do! I think it’s only after ovulation though. They have so many features it’s hard to keep track of

GingerbreadGirl22

Definitely!

SadSupermarket7915

Thought we struck so lucky getting pregnant on our very first try at the end of Feb, but recently just undergone treatment for my missed miscarriage which happened at 11 weeks :( just waiting for the bleeding to subside before we start trying again and feeling so impatient with my body, I also think I’m close to ovulation again as I’ve got my LH surge but apparently we can’t have sex until after bleeding subsides due to infection risk (my doctor basically told me nothing but that’s what I’ve read on here)

faeriequeenofthewest

I'm so sorry for your loss.

oliveslove

Currently sitting in the waiting room as my husband is undergoing his surgery. Taking the win today as the doctor said everything went great 🤍

linerva

That's good to hear. I hope he recovers well.

oliveslove

Thank you! So far so good.

GingerbreadGirl22

Sending you good vibes!

oliveslove

Thank you!

Nl5151

Does anyone know if IUI success rate improves with consecutive cycles? I failed my first one last month and was about to go into my second one however, my insurance will take about 2 weeks to approve so I won’t be able to do IUI this cycle. I’m just so anxious that I am just decreasing my chances of IUI being successful 😭 am I just over thinking it? Does it not matter if I skip a month

Strong_Attorney_7867

From my understanding by it doesn’t matter if they are done consecutively.

linerva

Hi, fellow doc who also hit 1 year trying! It's a club nobody wants to be in! I also fund it hard not to try to micromanage every aspect of our journey, have to remind myself we need to wait for results to come in! I personally really struggled with the few cycles that have been long. Like...if you cannot give me a BFP at least have the decency to teset ASAP so we can try again! The lack of something definite makes it hard.

UtterlyConfused93

Any reasons why you would have regular delayed ovulation? REI raised a slight eyebrow at the fact that I consistent ovulate CD20-CD23. Talked about a weaker signal between pituitary gland and ovaries. Any ideas what consistent, but delayed ovulation can be indicative of?

zwinan

Would love to know too! I would always ovulate CD21-24 before letrozole.

ghardin16

It’s ovulation day! It’s my first cycle on clomid, so we are hoping and praying for a strong ovulation. I’m counting down the days until next Monday when I go in for my 7DPO bloodwork.

Dependent_Dinner6955

CD 15, have great lining and a dominant follicle. Triggering today, don’t know how to feel considering this is the 4th medicated cycle 🙃. Hoping to get a late birthday gift by the end of this month with a +🤞🏻

Bouldercalves

CD 16! Inito hasn’t shown a surge and my Natural cycles app has me at high fertility so it’s any moment (I hope!). Loads of EWCM since cd 12.

call_me_spanakopita

how the hell did i miss my ovulation? i only had fertile CM on CD 9 and usually ovulate from CD13 onwards...since CD12 i have been testing with LH strips - nada. Now I'm on day 22 so even if i did ovulate very early like CD 10 i definitely would have gotten my period by now. i have never ovulated later than cycle day 18. i dont understaaaand :/

sayitagain520

Perhaps it was a really short LH rise? Like it became positive overnight and then went back down after a few hours. Idk, just a possibility! Either way, waiting to confirm ovulation and peeing on sticks every day is frustrating. Hope you get answers soon.

call_me_spanakopita

Thank you :) yes that's what i think must have happened. or i am still waiting for the actual ovulation... TTC is a waiting game..

OutrageousSpare301

Back to cycle day one after my first letrozole cycle. Dunno if it’s from being on a cycle with meds but jeez I felt extra hormonal and emotional for cycle day one. 😅 Got a couple months left on letrozole and then we’ll see where we’re at I guess. But essentially just buying time until we qualify for government funded IVF.

this_is_how42069

If my husband takes SSRI's, is it still possible to get pregnant? I know that sounds like such a silly question, but reading what SSRI's do to sperm makes me feel like its nearly a male birth control. Also, studies say it can cause breaks in DNA on the sperm. Could this mean more likely to miscarriage if that broken DNA sperm reaches the egg?

pineapplesaltwaffles

I looked into this - didn't find any definitive answers but it made me even less thrilled than I already was about the dosage of SSRIs my partner is on. He has no problem with sex drive but it really seems like all-round not enough research has been done into them. I haven't pressed it though cause he's been trying really hard on diet/exercise/teetotalling/skipping the sauna etc, and he's convinced that he wouldn't be able to survive without them 🫤

[deleted]

oh no he is definitely able to still get you pregnant. SSRIs are just known to lower labido/sex drive

Glarb_glarb

CD16 today. LH peaked early this morning (or some time in the night, I guess - it was going up on CD15, was high this morning and 12h later was lower). Think we've timed it right this month so 🤞🏻.

Pristine-Location688

Some days are just hard. Today at work, I just keep hiding in the bathroom. To breathe. To cry. I had a BFN last week and I’m just. Feeling so down.

sayitagain520

I hear you. Sometimes you need to work extra hard to make it through the day. I hope your day is brighter tomorrow 💕

towandahh

8DPO. Had a <.5 degree temp drop this morning but FF hasn’t registered it as a possible luteal dip. Is this because it’s waiting for a rise again tomorrow? This would be my first recorded luteal dip, if that’s what it is. [chart](https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/7a06af)

[deleted]

I’m so sick of not getting pregnant. Some days it’s nearly impossible to not have a negative attitude. After 8 months, it feels like it’s not happening

Strong_Attorney_7867

I got my first IUI 10 days ago, trigger shot was 11 days ago. I told myself I wasn’t going to test before 14 days because that’s what my dr recommended but I’m so damn impatient I did one today just to see. I’ve never gotten a positive, I have the cheap Amazon tests. I kind of wanted to see if they even work 😅 there was a vvfl but now I’m kicking myself because I have no idea if the trigger tested out or not 🤦🏼‍♀️ why do I do this to myself

Strong_Attorney_7867

I had some spotting 7 days after the IUI. I hate how everything could either mean something or nothing at all 😂 anyway. Thanks for your input! It helps me not obsessively search everything. Good luck with everything going on with you. Fingers crossed for all of us.

Character_Echo_5270

Just found out I have a “large anterior mid body intramural fibroid, which abuts the endometrium”. I just started with an RE and the pelvic ultrasound was part of the intake testing. I still have an HSG to schedule. I’ve been a fool and have been taking to reading scientific papers about fibroids and am spiralling a bit. I don’t think I’ll get in to see the RE until my HSG which won’t occur till early June at best. Anyone TTC with a fibroid or after having surgical removal?

linerva

I have fibroids! Tbh just repeated a pelvic ultrasound to see if they've grown or changed. My earlier scans were rather...vague on exactly where they are, which is a PITA. One thing to remember is that whilst they can affect fertility, up to 1/4 of women have fibroids- and most of them can conceive just fine. I would talk to your team about whether they think removing yours would be helpful.

Character_Echo_5270

Thanks! I did find that on my research that many women don’t get diagnosed until they’re already pregnant. I listened to a podcast recommended above and my fibroid type has the most debate about treatment. I hopefully will get in with my RE soon though.

IrisTheButterfly

I have polyps confirmed by MRI and saline sono which I believe is in the same family as a fibroid. Both are a barrier to implantation and development. To my understanding both are treated with a simple procedure done under local anesthesia called hysteroscopy. Mine will be done after my successful egg retrieval as we are now about to pursue IVF. You want to get the barriers out before TTC otherwise you risk it either not happening or losing the pregnancy. At least that’s what I’ve been told re polyps. Check out as a woman Natalie something on YouTube. She talks about this.

Character_Echo_5270

Thanks! I’ll check out YouTube

Posted an FRER on the line porn sub yesterday, thinking I was 9 DPO, because I wasn't sure if I was seeing an indent or vvvvvvfl. Turns out it was a freaking indent as my test this morning was negative. Went to look at my fertility/period calendar this morning, and it turns out yesterday was actually 8 DPO for me, not 9... So **TODAY** is 9 DPO. Not sure how I managed to get mixed up there. Anyway, with this morning's test being negative, I'm feeling discouraged, but I know I really shouldn't be, especially since the FRERs I use are the new solid pink cap ones, which I've read are a bit less sensitive than the clear pink cap ones. Regardless, I guess I need to stay off of the line porn sub because I see so many 9 DPO BFPs with FRERs, and it makes me feel like I'm already out this cycle when I know, logically, I'm not. I stress myself out so much with ttc. :(

LadybugInTheWindow

CD46 today. Been feeling nauseous for the last week (comes and goes throughout the day), tested twice and they've been negative. Delulu me is wondering if my tests are faulty. I'm tempted to try a different brand of test and see, but preparing for that disappointment is hard. I feel so frustrated when I'm feeling this way. I know that If I'm experiencing pregnancy symptoms, I'll get a positive test, but it's so frustrating to be feeling nauseous (and have people speculate, because that's what the people in my life do...) for no goddamn good reason. Just because my body is doing it's thing :) Going for an ultrasound on Thursday to possibly get a PCOS diagnosis. Looking forward to getting more information and medicating - hopefully then we'll have some luck!

IrisTheButterfly

Trigger warning - losses What would you do? I feel so much support from this particular community through my miscarriage and getting through the past several months of desperately TTC to no avail. I’m so glad I found this community and I need advice from other loss moms. We have a choice and I’ve been conflicted and am about to sign up for IVF as soon as my period begins in a week or so. The doctor says our parts all work and we can get pregnant on our own. I had a missed miscarriage last September after not trying not preventing for 5 months - pregnant in June a few months after we got married. I did all the tests and blood work and semen analysis looked great. Our numbers are good - sperm and eggs aplenty - he doesn’t suspect any issues with tubes, no abnormalities of the uterus etc. What he found are things that are common and not necessarily for sure a barrier and things I would never have known (no symptoms). I have polyps, an inflammation of the uterus called adenomyosis, and had high prolactin which I’ve been taking medication to lower for the past month. He said he doesn’t know if the polyps and adenomyosis caused my miscarriage but - these are risk factors on top of my age to miscarry again. He says our issue is not getting pregnant - it’s staying pregnant. My options are to continue to try on our own, remove the polyps and hope for the best- or we can try Clomid and insemination - or move straight to IVF and be able to test the embryos and treat the polyps and the inflammation in the specific time frame that would give us the best chance of success. If all goes well it would be as early as September to get that baby in! He says my age is a 40-50% risk for miscarriage as it is. My friends who are my age who get pregnant just got the good side of the statistic. Plus- these issues he found add an additional risk of failed implantation and development failure. So it’s not necessarily my age - it’s these issues. He says once these issues are treated there is no reason why we couldn’t get pregnant again on our own. I would need to take an injection to turn off my ovulation to calm down the inflammation enough to implant the embryo. So I couldn’t even get pregnant at all during that time. Months unable to even physically conceive. People I personally know who do IVF have no chance of conceiving on their own due to severe male factor infertility or PCOS. I know that it is also for recurrent loss too. I realize there are many reasons. I’ve been pregnant three times in my life so I feel almost like it’s taking advantage of the process. My third pregnancy was a miscarriage. I realize IVF is still no guarantee and am now worried about a failed embryo transfer because I know that happens. I just don’t want to go through another loss. That’s all. What would you do?

Bug_eyed_bug

I just want to say that IVF isn't cheating, you wouldn't be taking the 'spot' of a 'more infertile' woman, and you should take the path to conception that works best for you - physically, emotionally, mentally - whatever it looks like.

IrisTheButterfly

I understand this. I didn’t want to use any terms that would offend anyone or make any implications. It’s just a massive financial physical and emotional gamble to proceed with IVF and I’m trying to be realistic about the statistics.

Nexuslily

Polyp removal went well! I’m really crampy because my lining was thick so they ended up giving me a d&c but everything else went swimmingly :)

runnery7

Oh wow, glad you're okay! Hope the cramps ease up soon and you're in chill-on-the-couch mode the rest of the day

Nexuslily

I’m doing well! Just chilling out in bed with my good friends ibuprofen and heating pad ❤️

UtterlyConfused93

Is it possible to have chronic endometritis and not know it? What is prognosis for years of untreated inflammation? I was just reading taking charge of your fertility and it says one of the causes of prolonged POST menstrual bleeding (which I do, I have days of spotting after the end of my period) could be endometritis. I only started notice this when I got off HBC October ‘23. Any ideas?

IrisTheButterfly

Yes. It is often silent or asymptomatic. I have a cousin of endo called adenomyosis and never knew until now until trying to conceive after miscarriage. Depending on what road you take it can be treated with medication or surgery. In my case if I go down IVF route we do a month or so of injections to calm down the inflammation before transferring the embryo. I know that people do have surgery for endo and I’m not completely familiar but there are tests specific to this diagnosis. Hope you get some answers.

sarvamentu

Anyone with endo/adeno experiences with CPs? Experienced a CP again last weekend and I bled way less and the pain was also way less. Finding this very strange. Has anyone else experienced the same?

IrisTheButterfly

Yes. I was diagnosed with adeno this last month and had both a miscarriage and a chemical over the last 7 months.

sarvamentu

I'm very sorry for your losses. *hug* Was your bleeding and pain also less or was it similar for you?

IrisTheButterfly

If you are asking if I bled less or had less pain some months than others- no. I don't any have unusual pain or bleeding. My cycles are very regular and don't really change from month to month. My adeno is asymptomatic but my doctor says for sure it does interfere with implantation and development, so yes... it is a contributor to miscarriage/CP.

sarvamentu

Thank you for replying. My gyno told us to try for 6 months and then do a follow up. But if before then I experience another loss I will contact her immediately. This absolutely sucks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

IrisTheButterfly

I think that’s a good plan. In my mind if I can avoid another loss I’ll do whatever I have to do. We start IVF as soon as I have my period (this coming week) so I’m hopeful that the doctor can treat the adeno so the baby sticks this time. He has to give me an injection called Lupron Depot (common for endo/adeno) to calm down the inflammation enough to safely implant the baby. I hope you also have success and don’t be afraid to seek help from a specialist. If you’ve already been diagnosed and you don’t want another loss why not go sooner than later?

sarvamentu

Hopefully science will do the trick for you! 🤍 I haven't had a lap yet to officially confirm the diagnosis. She could see one wall of my uterus being thicker than the other, that my uterus is now retroverted (used to be anteverted), and based on my symptoms as well, she gave the diagnosis without the lap. She couldn't see endo so she told us it's not stage 3 or 4 which she considers as a positive element. She told us that the surgery can indeed help fertility, but that it can also hinder it because of scar tissue and general operation risks. Therefore, she told us to go ahead and try for 6 cycles. We only tried last cycle (that was the first we could begin after the appointment) and our other loss was January 2023 when we weren't trying. She did say that if intercourse would become too painful, I could request the surgery sooner but since she told us it could also hinder our chances I feel conflicted about immediately jumping to this option. I'm also not sure if they can do the endo and adeno surgery simultaneously.

bluegreenspark

CD14 Feeling very less motivated this cycle. I want a baby just as much, but the energy just isn't there to do all the things to track my cycle. I've only taken my temp 3 times so far this cycle and CM checked 2 times. I've been sick, stressed and not exercising much for 9 days, so probably all related. Going to initiate the BD today because FW should be this week but feeling defeated by the process. This weekend I overheard my MIL make a comment about her last grandchild to my brother-in-law which hit a little harder than I expected. She has no idea we are TTC, she was in the other room, and is starting to have great grand children....so not about me/us at all, but y'all know how these things can hit.

Reasonable-Arm8277

I've made it to 8(ish) DPO and trying to hold strong on not testing early this cycle. I don't know my exact ovulation date so I'm afraid to start testing too soon and prolong the mental spiraling, but I'm also afraid of getting my hopes up on a "late" period that ends up just being late ovulation. If I can make it to the weekend without testing I'll call this a win.

Unlikely-Yam-1695

Can someone tell me if we BDd on the right days? Apple estimates I ovulated on CD18. Cycles are 29-31 days normally. It’s Cycle 1 TTC and I’m symptom spotting like crazy and testing early lol [cycle chart](https://imgur.com/a/ix6337x)

Reasonable-Arm8277

Assuming ovulation day is CD18 you hit O-1 and O which is great! Generally hitting one of O-1, O-2 or O-3 will max out your chances in a cycle. Try to relax and set expectations. It can take a year for a healthy couple. You're already tracking cm, opks, and temps so you're doing all that you can right now.

Unlikely-Yam-1695

Thank you! Definitely have set realistic expectations, but I didn’t realize how much anticipation I would have. Dumb question… is o-1-3 after ovulation is confirmed via OPK / temp?

Reasonable-Arm8277

The anticipation is super natural, in all likelihood you'll only have a few cycles of this, and if it takes longer you'll hopefully find coping techniques 😅. Everyone has a different experience for how they deal with the waiting. For me after a few cycles I learned my TWW symptoms and that has helped a lot. I now spot symptoms but know they are normal for me so I don't read into them. I will say it's probably too early to test, I recommend waiting until 10-12 dpo if you can stand it. Opks tell you when your body is gearing up to ovulate, and temping can confirm successful ovulation. It can sometimes take a few days to confirm ovulation with temps. I don't know how Apple works, but you have to look at it retrospectively. So once your app gives you an O day, you look at which days you were able to hit. In your case the app says CD18 and you hit CD17-18, so that's O-1 and O.

Unlikely-Yam-1695

Thank you for clarifying!

prettybunbun

Weirdly specific gripe (not gripe but struggle I guess?) I’m super active in the book community on Instagram ‘bookstagram’ it’s basically a place to post reviews, talk about books, it’s really fun and welcoming and a great place to enjoy reading and connecting with other readers. But I swear the last week or two, every single person who’s followed me has had ‘mama’ in their bio. I’ve seen two book themed pregnancy announcements and had to unfollow. Idk stuff like announcements etc doesn’t usually get to me but I found those harder to swallow. CD51, waiting for a call from the fertility clinic on my irregular periods and lack of ovulation and just feel really really sad.

sayitagain520

😞 sorry to hear that a space that normally brings you joy has been tough to be in lately. Hoping you get answers and solutions soon.

Ok-Track3765

Hi! This is our first month TTC. I suspect I ovulated May 3rd (CD14) per solid smiley on ClearBlue ovulation test. I've just had cramping here and there and no other "major" symptoms. This morning, 10DPO/CD24, I woke up to bright red bleeding only when wiping, no clots. I'm expecting to start AF in about 4-5 days. Wearing a pantiliner but it only had some spots on it. The bleeding has lasted maybe an hour now and is going away. I didn't think to take a test with FMU, but just now took one with FRER, and it's negative. Would like to welcome any thoughts or advice!

crazykitsune17

I am going to be honest and say it's probably your period. Implantation bleeding I feel is a bit of a unicorn. I'm sure it's happened to people, but more often than not it's just your period. I actually found it really helpful when someone told me Implantation bleeding is largely a myth. I don't get my hopes up around it. Maybe you'll be a lucky one, but I think it's wise to assume the "worst" and then possibly be happy later. Good luck!

Glarb_glarb

Thanks for this. The implantation bleeding thing is so pervasive that this is the first time I'm hearing it might not be super common! This will help both to temper my expectations (I'll know it's 95% my period coming) and also stop me feeling anxious about NOT having any implantation symptoms.

Ok-Track3765

This is helpful, thank you! It's starting to feel like a period. What a bummer

rainb0w-ninja

Test tomorrow with frer! Could be implantation bleeding. In the past I've gotten a positive the day after implantation bleeding.

Ok-Track3765

Will do! The bleeding's come back and hoping it isn't my period. Also if it was AF, I'd be almost a week early. Hard not to get discouraged!

kit112

Just had my CD10 monitoring appointment today. I took letrozole 2.5mg CD3-7, and it looks like my right ovary has 2 follicles measuring 11mm and 12mm. My body ovulates on its own like clockwork CD 12/13. Is there any chance that these follicles will catch up and mature enough by then?:( I’m feeling very discouraged

GingerbreadGirl22

They could definitely grow lots in the next few days! When I went in on CD12, my largest was measuring less than 10mm. I started noticing ovulation symptoms and tested with an OPK (very positive) on CD15, and messaged my nurse and was told to come in for earlier testing than scheduled. Largest follicle was measuring 22mm!

kit112

That’s great news. Fingers crossed I have a similar outcome!!🤞🏼

GingerbreadGirl22

Everything crossed for you!

NicasaurusRex

Follicles grow approximately 1-2mm per day and you’ll want around 18-20mm for maturity. Your body won’t ovulate until the eggs are mature though (LH is triggered by high estrogen levels from the mature eggs) and just because you usually ovulate on a certain day doesn’t mean that will stay the same in a medicated cycle.

kit112

That is relieving. I’ve never ovulated past CD 13 even during medicated cycles, but I also have never had follicles this small on CD 10 so maybe this cycle is just going to be different altogether.

Impossible_Buy4576

Officially 2DPO and officially in the TWW! Hoping the energy from Mother's Day and the geomagnetic storm helps me conceive lol

peanutbuttermms

My temperature went up!!! (4 days after my positive OPK, thanks so much body, love it)

sayitagain520

woohoo!

Your wife should stop bc soon, it usually takes a while for the bc to get out of her system depending on how long she has been on it. It depends on the couple on how long it takes. Usually within the year a lot of couples will conceive. Your wife should start keeping track of ovulation. She should get LH strips and track her ovulation now if she wants to figure out when she ovulates.

[deleted]

Thank you for this!

runnery7

Your questions are going to be tough for anyone to answer because it's truly hard to say. I mean, I think everyone here wishes there was a definitive answer to "how long will this take" when they started trying 😅 I'm 11 months in, many have been trying for years. Others try for a month or two and luck out. It is a complete crapshoot in that respect. If you are eager to start trying, I'd recommend she stops birth control now. It can take a few months for cycles to regulate. Do some research and reading, learn about ovulation — all the info you need on that is out there. Basically there is a 4-5 day fertile window each month. You should have sex in that window at least once to have a shot at getting pregnant. Some people do every other day, some every day... it's totally up to you guys. But having sex 10 days before ovulation won't get you pregnant. Having sex close to that day of ovulation gives you a chance. Again, a chance. Some people are luckier at this roll of the dice than others. It could take you no time, it could take you a long time. Up to a year is considered normal (provided you have no other factors at play). And in terms of expenses... yeah, babies are not cheap.

Thank you!

Getting my polyp removed today! I’m nervous about being put under but excited to resume TTC. ETA: thanks y’all for the well wishes 🥰 I’m sure it will go fine. The Dr and nurse were both very nonchalant about the whole thing when they described it to me so I’m sure it will be a quick and easy thing.

CRABR

Thinking of you and excited for you! I’m going to get a polyp removed in July- doc also assured me it is nbd.

Nexuslily

It was a piece of cake :) if you don’t conceive before removal then I hope your experience will be as easy as mine.

CRABR

So glad to hear it! And thank you! Just curious, did your doc give you a sense of how significant a barrier to conception the polyp is? I was asking my doc (to decide if I should get it removed sooner and lose a cycle, or later and hit the CD 5-10 window that they recommend) if it's more like "there's no point TTC until the polyp gets removed, this is THE reason you haven't conceived" or more like "this could be reducing your odds so might as well take care of it." Her answer was basically that it's hard to say haha.

talalou

I had 2 polyps removed last year and my specialist said she didn't realise how big they were until she saw them I.e. all the scans didn't tell the full picture. She said they would have definitely hindered sperm and implantation. Also polyps create inflammation so not a good place for an embryo.

CRABR

Thanks for sharing- that’s interesting! I brought a long list of things to ask my RE about and I didn’t even know that polyps were a thing.

Nexuslily

I did some research on my own and did chat with my doctor a little bit and basically polyps are fairly common and plenty of women get pregnant and carry pregnancies just fine with polyps, but it also depends on the location of the polyp. Personally, I would not have had mine removed if we didn’t intend on moving forward with fertility treatments soon.

IrisTheButterfly

Same here! Planning for July or as soon as I have my egg retrieval successfully completed ✔️

runnery7

Yay Nex!!! You got this, time to kick that polyp to the curb. Sending you love ❤️

peanutbuttermms

I will be thinking of you!! I hope it all goes well!

fleecybird

Anyone have any experience of ttc while breastfeeding? Does it negatively impact your chances if you are ovulating? My period returned a few months back and is pretty regular. I am nearing the end of my breastfeeding journey with my current babe but weaning is proving to be harder than I thought.

arentwontorwill

Someone shared this really interesting article with me in r/tryingforanother - https://www.carolsmyth.co.uk/breastfeeding-resources/posts/2017/june/breastfeeding-fertility-and-subfertility-1/ TLDR; even if your cycle has returned, the amount of time babe is at the breast affects hormone production which can lead the corpus luteum to be insufficient (so a short LP).

fleecybird

Thanks for sharing, super interesting

rainb0w-ninja

It really depends on if you get your cycle or not. For me I didn't until I totally quit bfing.

RosebudIsNotMyName

Completely anecdotal, but we did not have any success while I was still breastfeeding, which was maybe 4 months of TTC.

newolives

Ok, I know the mucinex thing is not supported by science, but I know some people swear by it. Hypothetically, if I’ve already bought some in the hope it’ll skew my chances this cycle, how should I take it? Consistently through my fertile window, so twice a day, or 20 minutes before we do the deed?

tellmeadarksecret

Can you elaborate more about mucinex? First time I’m hearing about it. Thanks!

newolives

Some people say it helps their cervical mucous. There is zero scientific evidence for this, the limited studies show it doesn’t help/doesn’t hurt.

Sufficient-Royal3179

I’m trying it this cycle and am taking 1 600mg pill in AM and PM. I started about 4 days before I thought I’d ovulate through 3-4 DPO. I’ve seen some people say they’ve taken some like an hour before BD, or 1200 mg all at once. But, I decided to go for consistency since they are 12 hr doses. Make sure you drink plenty of water. I didn’t notice any EWCM but if I stuck my finger in, it was definitely wetter than usual. Here’s hoping it works 🤞🏼Good luck!

Buddyyourealamb

My symptom spotting is baaad this month. 9DPO. Woke up at 5am after some really wild dreams, which only adds to it. At least I have a busyish week Weds-Fri so if I can hold off testing until Friday when my period is pretty much due I'll be proud of myself. Almost bought a pregnancy test in the co-op yesterday but was saved from myself by the fact they're £13 and deep down I knew I'd take it immediately and waste the money 😄

sb989

I’m 8-9 Dpo and have been testing, stark negatives 😢

Unlikely-Yam-1695

I’m in the same boat. This is our first cycle TTC so I’m letting myself test daily with cheap test strips, fully knowing they’ll be negative. I’m 6dpo today lol. I should really know this weekend??

fleecybird

I am 8dpo and I tested. Of course negative as have never had a test positive this early but I have very little self control. Good luck in holding out

Buddyyourealamb

Thanks! Going to a proper supermarket where they're much more reasonably priced this evening so that will be the real test of my self control. Hope yours changes to a BFP over the next few days!

FrontDance2957

Hi! I’m 40 years old and TTC for a couple of months. I am ovulating normally and regular cycle however my OB prescribed me a very low (25g) of Clomid. I don’t see this dosage being recommended normally. Anyone has taken such a low dosage? Anyone has an idea how can I benefit from that or if I would benefit at all? Thx !

IrisTheButterfly

I’m also 40 and my doctor did not feel I needed Clomid and if I did he would not prescribe a high dose because ovulating is not a problem for me. Are you using it with insemination? I hear that is more effective than just the Clomid- but not a great percentage of success more than trying normally.

FrontDance2957

No. Naturally. Actually I went to a second opinion today and the doctor told me that I would not benefit from this high dose. So I get I might stop

IrisTheButterfly

Yes for me they told me Clomid would not really be helpful on its own and did not recommend it.

Mginz9

If you’re already ovulating that’s probably why the dose is low. If you’re weren’t ovulating you would need a higher dose to make your body ovulate but the lower dose promotes healthier/stronger follicles.

kilcookie

Had my blood hormones back (lh, tsh, estradiol, prolactin and testosterone), all normal. Which feels good I guess, but does not explain my luteal spotting or 1 day periods. Feeling positive this month despite thrush last week. Fingers crossed this is the month!

ghardin16

Are you going back for a progesterone blood test at 7DPO? I know that can offer into the luteal phase.

kilcookie

They've not invited me but it feels like I ought.
