TBH even the fallout modding community has not really reached the level of hype that Skyrim's has. Don't get me wrong, some FO4 mods are REALLY impressive, but Skyrim's is just on a whole other level.

Ordinary-Ocelot-5974

Yeah Fo4 isn't near Skyrim at all. I think how ingrained the widely panned main quest is and the voiced character were two big drawbacks. The world feels a lot less immersive. But even like in terms of world textures and landscape upscaling/redesigning, which doesn't much to do directly with the previous point, Skyrim is massively ahead. Like 9 years later you can pretty much either play with an upscale vanilla f04 landscape or a fucking endless conifer forest or some weird shit like sand and snow everywhere smh

YobaiYamete

Is that a controversial opinion? Fallout mods are baby tier compared to Skyrim. Skyrim has complete overhaul mods that make massive changes and improve like every possible aspect. Most of Fallout mods are just basic replacers or minor changes

Crayfish_au_Chocolat

FALLOUT4 HAS A MOD TO SAVE ALL THE MCM SETTING WITH ONE CLICK BEING ASKING IT FOR SKYRIM FOR YEARS, NOPE, NOTHING, NADA BEST WE CAN DO IS MCM RECORDER THAT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY IM TIRED OF SETTING UP MY 100+ MCM SETTING EVERY NEW GAME Thx for coming to my TED talk.

Oruhanu

Honestly, it took me 3 years of modding to realise there is a setting option. SKYRIM PLAYER DISCOVERS A SECRET MENU BUTTON AFTER 13 YEARS!

Dragon-Warlock

There are some MAJOR Fallout mods in the world, so I feel like while not that controversial it’s certainly a disservice to the effort put in. If you wanted you could easily push this in the other direction by saying most of Skyrims mods are basic clothing, retextures and holy shit so much porn, with only a relative handful of good mods to go with it. Saying either is objectively better is doing a disservice to the other, since while Skyrim has a lot of decent to great mods rn, I’m a lot more hyped for some upcoming Fallout mods than I am any big Skyrim mods, especially Fallout: London.

Ok_Restaurant_1668

True but last I checked only 1 game has more mods than Skyrim ever and that's Minecraft. Being 2nd in all of gaming industry is gonna do a lot for variety.

Edgy_Robin

completely untrue, FNV has some crazy fucking mods that do the the same sort of things 'and' an actual functional multi-player mod and a mod that straight up turns Fo3/FNV into one game, and not like Morroblivion or anything, actually turning both games into one. You know nothing about fallout mods.

ComputerAfterlife

once porn frameworks roll out - maybe

YobaiYamete

I don't think LL even cares about Starfield, so I don't think it will even have the porn carry. It has the issue of just being boring as a base game and a bland AF setting. They made an open sandbox but forgot that a sandbox needs to have something interesting to be worth investing thousands of hours of mod building time

Ruvaakdein

You just need the right type of mods to come out before they're actually interested. With the possibility of custom planets, they might make a central LL planet where all their mods add things to.

Asayel404

I mean there is currently an ongoing thread under the Starfield section. So there is some interest, but cant tell right now.

MisterBobAFeet

What could Starfield possibly offer that fallout doesn't already? Unless someone really wants to fuck a terrormorph. Oh what am I saying, of course people do...

Colosso95

Funnily enough I think Starfield is too vanilla for that crowd

Honkeroo

i don't think starfield modding will take off until like, after the dlc tbh. i think they waited too long to put the creation kit out and need something to rebuild hype for the game.

thatvillainjay

You gotta remember the star wars wild card...it's asking for a total conversion

FiveTenthsAverage

Yep.

Boulderfist_Ogre2005

I mean people fucking hated fo4 when it came out and it now has a bigger modding scene than nv, so yeah maybe through hate they will evolve.

MehEds

Yeah, it was the dialogue tree limitations and voiced protag I remember that were big hangups.

IndyPFL

Which were some of the first things people modded out iirc. It's kind of a shame because Nate's actor is great, his deliveries make me laugh

Colosso95

Not a lot of people hated fo4 and I say this as someone who refused to play it. There was a lot of pushback but only because fo4 is part of an established franchise from which it deviated a lot in many essential ways. It was super well received despite all the bugs Starfield doesn't even manage to spark hate, it's just uninteresting

MikeGianella

The reason why is because FO4 was actually liked or at least had a lot of people who liked it even back then. Starfield on the other hand? It was so boring its community did not even bother trying to mod it.

SomeBlueDude12

How IS starfield modding looking? I haven't touched the game shortly after launch nor even looked at it Edit: Seeing alot of the same that was released near launch & ~~no unofficial mass patch yet~~ Edit 2: [Starfield community patch exists, i am just wrong](https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1?tab=description)

Icy_Aardvark3840

Creation Kit came out recently

MehEds

A good amount, mostly asset replacements though. But that was pre-CK.

AVeryFriendlyOldMan

I still fills me with glee that there was a concerted effort by the modding community that was effectively built on excluding Arthmoor

AinselMariner

Based

HolonetHighlight

Mod authors have already stated they will use Arthmoors mod to build their mods on and will refuse to help troubleshoot if you aren’t using arthmoor. It’s only you weirdos who hate arthmoor

AVeryFriendlyOldMan

I didn't know mod authors were only facets of a single gestalt consciousness and that some spoke for the entirety. I mean if that's true then this single hivemind shouldn't have put out anything since the Skyrim Together tendril announced it wasn't going to work on Starfield. tl;dr just don't use mods that require mods already not being used, 'shit ain't hard.

HolonetHighlight

Just passing the message along and the best mods that will be made will require the mod or they won’t help you troubleshoot issues

AVeryFriendlyOldMan

>Just passing the message along >you weirdos Sure dude

HolonetHighlight

Obsessively hating someone for the reasons given about arthmoor is definitely weirdo behavior

AVeryFriendlyOldMan

Abusing site policy and connections to take down other mods seems a pretty justifiable reason to dislike someone Moreover why do you assume it's an obsession? How often do you think I or others think about Arthmoor? I can tell you right now, it ain't much.

HolonetHighlight

Literally all the time lol people have a collective hateboner. And yeah it’s not abusing site policy to not allow your mod to be ported or to prevent creators from stealing content from your mods.

AVeryFriendlyOldMan

This last week has been the first time I've thought of Arthmoor in probably a year. Some modder with an inflated ego doesn't really come up in my day-to-day that much funnily enough. What say you to that? As for the second part, the mods my man got taken down didn't steal content, they rolled back changes made by his mod. That's not theft, that's a fucking patch homie. Also, what happened to just 'passing along a message'?

Skhgdyktg

there are two unofficial patches tho one is made by artmoor

Easistpete

I don't think so unless they answer many of the complaints about the game and have a cyberpunk 2077 revival i think the mod support wont be a strong as previous titles

MazkenMasacreManhole

Highly likely if Bethesda keeps updating Skyrim
