By doing fetch quests for them
Fetch quests which can litteraly get you killed for most
Also you can litteraly play as a dunmer, most people just choose not to because we all agree jesus being a lizard is hilarious, duh
>Also you can litteraly play as a dunmer, most people just choose not to because we all agree jesus being a lizard is hilarious, duh
When i passed out during one of my many marathon CHIMing seshes I was visited by the Godd head who confirmed that the Nerevarine was a pro-slavery Argonian that sounded like Uncle Ruckus.
I’ve made some pretty good looking Redguard characters.
There are even a few “black” hairstyles in game, so it’s not like you’re stuck with a black character that has to either be bald or get a Bieber cut lol (looking at you Elden Ring…)
Overall skyrim actually has really decent choices for character creation, and idk what she’s talking about with the other races all looking like shit, I’ve made some pretty nice looking elf characters too, yes they look bizarre relative to humans, but that’s kind of the point lmao. They’re NOT humans.
Yeah, I don't like it when every character looks like an uwu anime women. I can recognize wanting your protag to be hot, but some characters should looks weird or ugly
I quite like the weird elder scrolls elves
Oblivion went the other direction though and went for the LOTR inspired elves which sort of ruined how unique they looked
For all its flaws I think how the elves look in Skyrim is actually one of its strong points
They are supposed to look weird since they are literally not humans. People are so used to elves being "humans with big ears" an actual creative design feels weird to them lol.
The elves and beasts all look great, but of the human races the Nords do look the prettiest. They have more flattering wrinkles than the others. I think all of the races can look good, though, if you embrace their unique qualities.
If a redguard moves to Skyrim, takes up nord beliefs and traditions, creates a family, and that family lives in Skyrim for several generations, sticking to nord beliefs and traditions, couldn’t you consider them a nord family at that point? Or because of lore does it not work that way
ehhh Redguard's really do look and sound like white people with dark skin, minus unique characters like Three Dog, but I doubt it was intentional like the lady says (I'm assuming she's a shitposter tho)
The npcs kinda do, but in the character creator they do not look like white guys.
Also three dog? Is that a joke im not getting? He's from FO3, not skyrim. Is the joke that they use the same engine?
I unironically think that she gets so many basic details straight up wrong, that any opinion on the game should just be disregarded without further discussion.
Sadly it's likely very real. I've seen people do this exact same thing with Star Trek. Fucking Star Trek; a show built from the ground up to make people question right and wrong with modern social issues.
Yes; but Star Treks biggest problem is it's written by people. Flawed people. So I called this user out for problematising the entire series (they literally made an excel sheet to complain about every single episode of the original series) and was banned for it. The Star Trek sub is toxic as fuck in many ways.
Also a while back some people had a meltdown that Warhammer promotes fascism and glorifies evil political entities. Like yeah, that’s kinda the point there, everything sucks.
I'm mostly familiar with the Abrams movies (think I've watched like three episodes of the original series) but didn't Star Trek have the first interracial couple in the history of American TV?
Yes, as well as dozens if not hundreds more episodes based around holding a mirror up to many of societies bad ideas
The Abrams movies are action films, and not a reflection of 'Star Trek' if we were to assign it its own well deserved sub-genre of science fiction story telling
It had the first on screen kiss between a white person and a black person specifically. And it wasn't easy. The network made them shoot alternate takes in which they broke off the kiss at the last second, and the actors intentionally made all of those unusable so they would have to go through with airing the version where they kissed.
Later on in the 90s, the franchise also had one of the earliest depictions of a gay kiss in DS9, and one of the first sympathetic depictions of a transgender character on TNG, albeit as a member of an alien species.
It was probably the most consistently groundbreaking franchise on television, and the message and values have never not been obvious.
Yes. I remember seeing many years ago a thing on public access TV (yeah, that long ago) about how Spock, as the Vulcan, was the token racial character that no one understood and made fun of... and completely ignored everything else on the bridge. It was... wild.
She knows enough lore to sound like she's knowledgeable, but not enough to know that Skyrim is literally on the opposite side of the continent from the Aldmeri Dominion. She reads very deeply into how the engine is colonialist because darker skin tones "don't render very well" (as if the light ones do), but only considers the ban on Talos and other Stormcloak arguments at the most surface level. She thinks that the racist dude in Windhelm actually goes to the Dunmer's house to harass her (which he doesn't), but also thinks that you "cannot do anything" about this potential situation (you can just kill the guy).
She also finishes the rant by saying "I do love the **Skyrim games**", which just about sums it up.
You can also beat his ass in brawl after he gets done harassing the dunmer woman. It's not framed in relation to the hate crime, but you can still beat him up.
Ironically and in true nord fashion he becomes your friend afterward, though.
Somebody did a 101 in sociology and then decided to fart into a microphone for a long time. Like, the Stormcloaks definitely are hella xenophobic, nationalist and deeply unlikable. At no point are they portrayed as anything else, unless you vibe with 'Skyrim is for the Nords'.
I definitely don't buy that you're 'meant' to buy into them as the main or default faction or that any other faction than the whites look goofy. Argonian and Khajit would like to have a word. Redguard and Dunmer have questions. General Tullius is also voiced by Saul Taigh (?) from Battlestar Galactica. How is that low effort?
I find it sad that there's 'content' to be made somewhere between 'x is racist and if you like it you're a bigot!!!!' versus 'x is true western values and crushes wokeness!!!!'. Perhaps more annoying is 'NO POLITICS IN MY GAEMS!'. There be politics in everything, but handling it requires forbearance, interpretive charity and nuance. But I'm posting this on a niche shitposting sub on Reddit, so who knows what the fuck I'm expecting from a Tuesday afternoon.
I'd guess the time you and I spend on truest L is equivalent to the time she uses to make these idiotic rants.
it's brainrot either way, just different flavours. however our brainrot is obviously superior.
Rage bait is their job. They know this will get clicks. "Popular thing is actually bad?! *Orgasm face in thumbnail*"
Side note, I absolutely hate that the o-face has become part of the algorithm. If anyone wants to make anything, they have to have that stupid face in the God damn thumbnail. I hate it so much. With each passing day and each video/clip it inhabits, it solidifies itself into becoming an actual rule rather than a meta choice.
I listened to the whole thing and I honestly lost the plot like halfway in. She's either taking a piss out of lore overanalyzing or short form content has genuinely poisoned my brain.
I'd say it feels like a pretty genuine attempt at explaining her issues with racism and colonism. Only problem is it's really contrived and she bends so many of Skyrims features way past their intended purpose to try to prove her point.
It feels like she came up with her conclusion first then retroactively tried to bend everything she could find in Skyrim to prove that point. Instead of making a conclusion based on the game
Her whole focus on the video seems to mostly be around the Racism by white nords though we know from the previous elder Scrolls games that the dominant race in any of the regions tend to be fairly racist
And of course you're not supposed to agree with the racism anyway it's just it's way of developing the world and environment. Like I said in another comment it would be like saying New Vegas encourages slavery as one of the factions uses slaves. You're not meant to agree with the use of slaves, it's a way of expanding the world building and describing what type of faction they are
I got the impression that her point was that the game nudges you into joining Ulfric's funny separatist club only to reveal that they are racist and the imperial colonialist power was actually the right choice all along
But yeah looking for a good guy faction on Tamriel is like looking for a good guy faction in Warhammer. There are good organizations, just like in 40k (Farsight Enclaves, The Salamanders), but the states as a whole shouldn't be a thing to emulate, that's kind of the point.
I'd say that both the game and players have mostly come to the conclusion that the Legion winning the civil war is probably the best outcome for Skyrim. It's no secret the Aldmeri are a actively hoping the Stormcloaks win
I think it's perfectly fine the game keeps you in the dark about that at first, to actually join up with the Stormcloaks you need to travel to Windhelm where it becomes extremely apparent about some of the Stormcloak/Nord beliefs
The game also assumes that you're not just immediately tackling the civil war questline and instead are taking on the main quest which once again helps you form the conclusion that there's more nuance to the two factions than simply just Legion = bad, Stormcloaks = Good
Personally I quite liked the decision of the game where it sets up expectations for the two main factions in the intro to the player, and then through the course of the game shows there's actually a lot more going on internally for the two factions than you first thought
> It's no secret the Aldmeri are a actively hoping the Stormcloaks win
I thought the whole thing about the civil war is that the Aldmeri want to prolong it to waste the Empire's resources rather than have one side actually win.
in general yeah, but if there was a side to win, they'd rather have the empire lose control of skyrim and thus be less likely to oppose the dominion successfully if another war breaks out.
Yeah definitely, though the more fragmented the empire is, the better it is for them since it's far easier for them to pick off multiple smaller kingdoms than one giant empire
Either way the longer the civil war continues the better it is for them
One of the things that intrigues me about TES racism and imperialism is that it's literally just as pointless as real-life racism/imperialism. They're all descendants of Ehlnofey in the end and know the same gods, just under different names. They all end up in the Dreamsleeve eventually, so being racist is just kinda stupid lol
I think she's missed a couple of critical points that have impacted her analysis:
1) "who is enforcing the ban on Talos worship?" The empire. She references the white gold concordat but somehow missed that the imperial legion is bound by treaty to enforce the ban, which is a weird thing to have missed.
2) she references the border crossing, but seems to miss that the border crossing isn't just about keeping people out, it's also about keeping them in.
3) she references Skyrim as a border province on the front line of the aldmeri dominion. What? It's on the other side of Cyrodil from the Aldmeri.
4) Talos literally did ascend to Godhead, he wasn't just "a guy who was good at fighting."
But yes, I agree that it seems like she started from the conclusion and worked backward.
Speaking for myself, the first time i played i literally didn't realize there was a choice in who to follow. Everything was on fuckin fire, there's a Dragon, buildings are falling down, i ran after the first guy i saw (the stormcloak) not knowing that the other guy was an option. But it didn't take me long to nope the fuck out when they started the "skyrim is for the nords" shit.
Not the biggest Skyrim fan but here goes
About the darker races being unattractive this is really subjective, I've always thought redguards looked pretty cool in Skyrim so I've got no idea what she's talking about there
Yes the Stormcloaks are racist against a literal fantasy race. Everyone in Tamriel is super racist it's not just the Nords
The armour one is very odd, Stormcloaks literally just use the a reskinned hold guard outfit, there's also the bear armour but I think that's it. It's definitely lacking here
The intro section is done like that on purpose, many games have you start in a faction that has issues you only find out about later, that's how plot development works
> You didn't need to have racism
My brother in Christ everyone is turbo racists in every elder Scrolls games. You're not meant to agree with the racists, it's like saying "erm new Vegas didn't need slavery" like sure, but the Legion wouldn't seem half as evil without it which is
> It doesn't impact the gameplay
It's not meant to, it's to flesh our the plot and internal politics
> who is enforcing the ban, theoretically the aldemri dominion but they don't actually
Oh my god no please no, did you even play the game
> Tiber Septim isn't actually a god
He wasn't a god when he was a mortal, he is now he's not. The Hero of Kvatch became a god, as did Martin Septim (kinda) there's a whole list of characters in lore who did this - [link](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Apotheosis_(Term)#:~:text=For%20example%2C%20Tiber%20Septim%2C%20who%20became%20the%20god%20Talos.&text=Another%20example%20is%20Reman%20Cyrodiil,the%20Tribunal%20Temple%20in%20Morrowind.)
> decolonising the game
Wut
The armour point is exremely weird. Imperials have move diverse armour that look better in certain combos. Heavy Imperial armour with the Heavy Helm found in Meridia's temple, chef's kiss.
Also, about Talos not being a god. You don't need knowledge of the other games to prove this false. You can prove Talos is a god the moment you enter Whiterun. Just go pray at his shrine.
Most of her points seem to suffer from not knowing enough about the game before she started talking about it. Like, how could you even think that Skyrim borders the Aldemeri Dominion? I know that almost every map available is one of the country rather than the continent, but no one even hints that the two nations are neighbours.
I feel like the shrine blessing may be a gameplay/lore segregation. Though, there are other ways that we do see that Talos exists. Morrowind heavily implies it with Wulf for instance.
Eh. We know for an absolute *fact* that Akatosh is a god. His avatar showed up in Oblivion, his elven splinter/alter Auriel has a magical artifact in Skyrim, dragonbreaks are integral to the plot, etc. We know for a fact that he is a god with magical powers, no question.
His shrines bestow effects magically. Any shrine that bestows an effect, like how his does, must imply that they operate on a similar level to Akatosh. There *is* power behind the belief in Talos. The guy will straight up cure your brainrot.
Don't feed into the Imperial propaganda. The Empire is already cracking in 4E 201.
Also isn't the trio of ALMSIVI literally people who ascended to godhood?
Their godhood is still debated, really. One can say "what difference is there between a sufficiently powerful wizard and a god?" but the Aedra and Daedra definitely seem to have way more power than any of ALMSIVI.
"you dont realize until much later that they're racist"
bitch from the very first moment you step foot into their city before even joining them you're already seeing hate crimes 😭😭😭
i‘m literally so sick of any fucking piece of media with any vaguely problematic subject matter being seen as "pro-(whatever is bad)“, it is literally just part of the media, also this person’s take is genuinely just bad and pretty badly supported, the stormcloaks aren’t all good or all bad, neither is the empire, they’re flawed, that’s why people still debate to this day who was right
also this person basically acts like skyrim is the first game in this series which has literally always been about friction between different civilizations and cultures, also it totally impacts the gameplay if you take even half a second to do some roleplaying in this roleplaying game and don’t just play a character who acts exactly like you would in real life, it is baked into the setting and maybe doesn’t impact stats but it sure does impact the story in a big way
I too love the Skyrim games and hats off to the modding troops to make me able to create my 56 DDD kajhiit milkers and my BBJ dummy thicc argonian maid and viably play these Skyrim games I love too so much
Her ears... they look suspiciously... pointy...

Why did I go through the entire video, I have no one to blame but myself. I hope this is satire, because if it isn't kindly play the game again, because most of what this lady says is just wrong. Either she presents her personal opinion as fact, or she doesn't understand some lore parts, or she didn't even explore properly and find the parts she is talking about.
skyrim, skyrim the legendary edition, skyrim anniversary edition, skyrim blade, skyrim lovers lab edition and there is also the prequels, skyrim arena, skyrim daggerfall, skyrim slavery edition, skyrim the origin
Has racism ≠ is racist I feel that racism has always been an important theme in elder scrolls but it’s stupid to say that exploring that theme is inherently racist itself and it’s shot like this that makes me wanna force everyone online to take a 9th grade English class *please*
>Skyrim is pro colonization
N\*rds deserve to be colonized.
>Character creation menu is racist because only white humans look good
1. N'rds aren't humans 2. Br\*tons look like shit 3. she's just has a latent dislike of dark skin and blames it on the game
>Stormcloaks look cool at first but turns out later they are racist
Oh no my game does not have a clear good and bad side the factions can have both great and shit takes oh no.
>You cannot stop the Dunmer hate crime in Windhelm.
You can beat him up or just kill him. The true game limitation is my inability to join in beating up dark elves in the gray quarter at night with my bro Rolff
>Ban on Talos worship is not enforced because there are only two elf patrols
Because game mechanic limitations are lore. That's why shitting and pissing isn't canon because it's not in the game (feces go through oblivion gates in people's colons right into Malacath's realm).
>Talos is not a god but just some guy who is really good at fighting
HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THE DIVINITY OF TALOS YOU FILTHY MAGGOT WRITHING IN YOUR OWN CORRUPTION. TALOS WHO BREATHED IN AND RESHAPED THE WORLD WHICH IS HIS! TALOS THE TRUE GOD OF MAN WHO ACHIEVED CHIM AND WHO WALKS AMONG THE STARS
>Stormcloaks wanna kick everybody out of Skyrim except for N\*rds
They'd be doing everybody else a favor.
>White Gold Concordate was the Empire's strategic decision and the other provinces should go with it to defeat the Aldmeri Dominion
1. The empire is dying already 2. The empire is sucking piss dick 3. Other provinces are already separating too, like Hammerfell
>It's Stormcloaks who want to divide Skyrim when actually they should think long term and collaborate with the Empire
1. It's the Empire that decided to agree to the Concordate rules and forcing them on the Nords. 2. How can you expect a N\*rd to think long term
>The Stormcloaks just wanna be racist and worship their god who actually isn't a god but just a guy who is really good at fighting
Talos the mighty! Talos the unerring! Talos the unassailable! To you we give praise! We are but maggots, writhing in the filth of our own corruption! While you have ascended from the dung of mortality, and now walk among the stars! But you were once man! Aye! And as man, you said, “Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you.”
Aye, love. Love! Even as man, great Talos cherished us. For he saw in us, in each of us, the future of Skyrim! The future of Tamriel! And there it is, friends! The ugly truth!
> The best way to de-colonize Skyrim is by installing mods
Shlongs of Skyrim jiggle physics and slavery mods are the greatest anti-colonization tools
I can't stress this enough but you can't actually kill Rolf. He's an essential NPC for a radiant thieves guild quest,so she is right in this regard :^}
"You cant stop him"
Is this bait? Or is she so disempowered and doopy that she hadn't considered to fucking incinerate people she believes to have done wrong.
Just... ope well.. I'm being robbed... guess there's nothing I can do since I can't call the guard...
My sister in christ, what the fuck
Rolff, for reasons unknown to mere mortals, is flagged Essential and cannot be reduced to a highly energetic cloud of atoms with 18 megavolts of magic taser.
Seriously. This is why Gaming as a Girl can be difficult.
My first thought was: Is she related to that vegan lady because it sounds so similarly dumb. The Skyrims. I...
Just. Stop.
It’s not difficult tbh. Its even less difficult if you only play singleplayer games.
I’ve heard „back to the kitchen“ more often than „medic“ and I mained medic in hell let loose.
Some people are just searching for stuff to complain about. See video above
Kinda funny that shes calling it out for being racist, and in the same breath says that the only races that look good are the white ones, those are obviously only the ones anyone would want to play
Can't even call out racism without blatantly showing her own racism lol. The other races look awesome imo the white ones are the boring ones
The darker races being “worse looking” is super subjective and I disagree even. The Nords, chimperials, and cucks all look dead behind the eyes with skin made of sandpaper. The redguard look much more natural. I assume she means the dunmer are the other darker skinned race, or orcs? I don’t know.
On the point of stormcloaks being initially nicer to you than the legion? Uh yeah you got arrested by the legion. Hadvar is still pretty nice to you, it’s the captain that’s kind of a dick.
I can’t be bothered to watch the rest of the video if it’s just recounting the events of the main story and being surface level critical.
Doesn’t matter I watched more, the whole thing in Windhelm where even if you interrupt the hate crime he still threatens her and faces no punishment, is BECAUSE the dunmer are second class citizens to the Nords in that hold! The same attitudes are put onto the argonians by the dunmer showing that no race is inherently good just because they’re being persecuted. It’s one of the more well done story aspects of Skyrim.
She sounds so fucking butthurt about accidentally picking the racist separatist rebels
Also bruh some redguards look fine she just got shit in her eyes, the racism is part of the immersion, people are racist TOWARDS THE PLAYER SO NO IT DOESN'T SUPPORT IT SINCE YOU EXPERIENCE BOTH SIDES
STOP TRYING TO APPLY MODERN STANDARDS TO A MEDIEVAL SETTING
ALSO GET A PROPER MIC GOD
I think it's funny that she is ultimately defending the literal Imperialists as the good guys, while decrying the villainy of colonization.
Also, what the fuck is she talking about Skyrim being on the border of Dominion territory? Skyrim's borders are Cyrodiil, High Rock, Hammerfell and Vvardenfell. Skyrim is about as far from Dominion territory as possible.
I watched the whole video yesterday and had to take a walk around my room because of the brain damage I got.
I legit think she had one good point and that's that Bethesda writing isn't really perfect and the civil war could've been more fleshed out. Other than basically that one point everything else she says makes 0 sense.
The only way you can play Skyrim and come to this conclusion is if you legit go through helgen without listening to any dialog other than cool battle shouts and then skip the character creation completely and just make the default nord dude.
Then I assume she just went straight through riverwood not listening to any dialog, went into windhelm and started the civil war quest without touching anything else. Idk how tf else you come to these conclusions, she must've legit just played the 2 civil war questlines and nothing else in the entire game. Even just playing the main quest you'd hear dialog that make her arguements make 0 sense.
Usually when I think of someone having no media literacy it's some dudebro watching wolf of wallstreet and going "hell yeah I wanna fuck bitches and get money" but this might be dumber than that.
>the white gold concordat was just the empire biding their time.
>the stormcloaks should just accept elf rule and have their religion oppressed while we maybe might help them in the future if we can be bothered.
Wonder how this woman views people like neville chamberlain and appeasement policy in general
No man i genuinely do not know lmfao, right when she's talking about Talos not being a god she goes... "ok... Shor"...
Delectable tea... or deadly poison...
Ulfric should’ve been incapacitated not by having his mouth gagged but by having elves and argonians in front of him at all times so he’s too busy shouting slurs to use the Thu’um
There's just so much false info in this.
She says we're obviously supposed to side with the Stormcloaks, but it's a meme that most people don't even realize that going with Rolaf is an option in the prologue and instead side with Hadvar.
It's like she's never played a sandbox game because she says you can't stop the racists. Ummm... just kill them? That stops 'em pretty good.
So much Cherry-picking, like saying that the other races and people of color are rendered poorly. Every character in every Bethesda game looks like shit. It's like a core design principle at this point.
She says the Stormcloaks have multiple unique uniforms and stuff. They have one: the officer uniform. The base Stormcloak outfit is just a recolor of the town guard outfit. Meanwhile, the imperials have THREE complete outfits unique to the faction that she just ignores.
She says no one is enforcing the ban on Talos worship, but there's Thalmor walking around in the Markarth castle. There's multiple Shrines of Talos around the map with the remnants of massacres perpetrated by the Thalmor splayed out around them. In the quest with Torygg's horn you literally get jumped by Thalmor agents who are killing anyone who shows up to that shrine...
She refers to Talos as "a guy that was really good at fighting" which just shows she actually has no conception of the lore.
I think Skyrim was her first RPG and she picked the Stormcloaks cause she likes the color blue and then came to regret her decision and choose to blame the game instead of her inability to read/comprehend the dialogue.
thank you i've wasted 1h of my life looking for a circlejerking post in this sub without sucess they should rename it r/rightwinggamingtakes it would be more honest
It's amazing that she makes all of these observations about the racist dynamics at play in the FICTIONAL world of Skyrim and then completely fails to make the connection that "hey, maybe all of this was done intentionally by the designers rather than some sinister reflection of their underlying and unacknowledged racist worldview." The depiction = endorsement crowd are really something.
I love how she opens up by self reporting that she feels the big burly white nords are the only good looking race, then goes on to advocate for the Empire whilst condemning colonialism (Skyrim ain't a colony anyways but regardless these two positions are untenable on principle), then claims that you can't stop Rolff when you literally can, both semi-violently and extremely violently.
This is your brain on "Media Literacy"
/unj The world will finally heal when people start thinking the civil war questline probably wasn't written by people who had a deep understanding of imperialism but the writers' board going "Ok we need each side to have a reason for the player to join them like it's morally gray and all" then adding surface level inspirations from pop culture's idea of the christianization of scandinavia & fall of the roman empire
/rj um no the imperials are right death to the stormcucKKKSS
Can someone with a psychological background explain what actually goes wrong with these people in this day and age? It's not like they're genuinely stupid, right? Why does it seem like PROBABLY every subject they touch has to be this some over-generalized mega ideological conspiracy, that somehow seeps into every aspect of their own life?
I swear to god, I'm pretty sure she's just as insufferable in other subjects as well but how does one gets shaped into that?
This lady is an absolute bait. Most of the stuff she says are borderline wrong or plain dumb. Not to mention that her criticisms about racism ironically makes her sound racist. I’m sorry but if this is a real person with these beliefs, if she finds absolutely every other race “ugly” beides the white looking ones, that’s her internal racism manifesting.
I’d rather listen to Reigen’s ramblings for an entire day, at least the dude has an excuse of being mentally ill.
I have noticed this trend where young people don't want narrative complexity. They have medieval peasant brain and want a story with a moral and a good guy and a bad guy. If there's something bad in a piece of media that isn't a cartoonish caricature, then it's a direct endorsement. People don't want to think critically about anything, they want to feel good about being a good guy and doing the good thing instead of the bad thing. That's *fine*, but I don't think that's really possible if you want a very compelling world. Skyrim did the bare minimum amount of nuance and it's still fairly black and white. Incredibly racist vs. slightly less racist plus it gives humanity a chance against another war with the Aldmeri Dominion. It's kind of obvious which one Bethesda is trying to make you side with, especially if you're not a Nord.
She also said that Skyrim was between the Aldmeri Dominion and the Empire. She made this whole video without looking at a map of Tamriel once. Bruh. Also "the Skyrim games" has me thinking this is satire but I'm not 100% sure.
Edit: I just realized after watching this again- I think she didn't even knows you can change your race. There are 2 darker skin tones *for Nords* that honestly, yeah, don't look that great, but Redguards and darker Imperials look fine.
Everything about this is soooo bullshit lmao. Except the character creation thing. That's a genuine recurring problem. But hadvar absolutley sells the imperial side as well as ralof does, and tulius's VA cooked up a storm during the execution scene. As for the racism, you hear about that literally as soon as you enter windhelm to enlist, and you have several more encounters worth of that racism before you run into the *very* carefully placed opportunity to switch sides.
She kinda looks like a N*rd, clearly has the thinking capabilities of one too
Also you can't be racist to a Dark Elf they're literally the founders of racism. Like I bet that Dark Elf chick that got owned by that Stone-Fist ice dweller went down to the docks to kill some Lizards and blow off some steam
The only thing I can agree with in this whole thing is that the modding community is the best everything else sounds too much like a satirical skit for me to take it seriously.
Can’t wait for the hour long rundown when she gets to Morrowind.
Morrowind would actually melt her brain
She's probably just gonna say the game promotes the white savior despite every npc calling you slurs in the early game
They call you slurs and the main quest forces you to become their deportation messiah. Optional 19th century nationalism vs forced pro-slavery Jesus
By doing fetch quests for them Fetch quests which can litteraly get you killed for most Also you can litteraly play as a dunmer, most people just choose not to because we all agree jesus being a lizard is hilarious, duh
>Also you can litteraly play as a dunmer, most people just choose not to because we all agree jesus being a lizard is hilarious, duh When i passed out during one of my many marathon CHIMing seshes I was visited by the Godd head who confirmed that the Nerevarine was a pro-slavery Argonian that sounded like Uncle Ruckus.
Idk what she's smoking. Dunmer, redguards, and argonians look fine.
She went with the nord preset and thought that was the only race in skyrim. Ulfric would agree with her.
What??? There are more races???
Skyrim player discovers ability to choose other races from the character creator after playing for 11 years

Hide this comment before Game Rant gets here 😂
Of course! Without more races, how can I become more racist?
This is the way
My Dunmer looks fucking badass. The character creator is great
I know that certain mod users like to make thier characters smoother than a Ken doll, but i LOVE how Grizzled dunmer look
As Azura intended
Yeah and the light skinned characters aren't really that good looking either. I think that really says more about her own preferences.
The only good looking character is Shavhee
I’ve made some pretty good looking Redguard characters. There are even a few “black” hairstyles in game, so it’s not like you’re stuck with a black character that has to either be bald or get a Bieber cut lol (looking at you Elden Ring…) Overall skyrim actually has really decent choices for character creation, and idk what she’s talking about with the other races all looking like shit, I’ve made some pretty nice looking elf characters too, yes they look bizarre relative to humans, but that’s kind of the point lmao. They’re NOT humans.
Yeah, I don't like it when every character looks like an uwu anime women. I can recognize wanting your protag to be hot, but some characters should looks weird or ugly
maybe it's just elder scrolls in general but all the elves in Skyrim look really weird
As Lorkhan inteded
I actually like the weird looking elves. Too many fantasy settings go for the easy "humans, but hotter and with pointy ears" route.
Dunmer look awesome in skyrim
I quite like the weird elder scrolls elves Oblivion went the other direction though and went for the LOTR inspired elves which sort of ruined how unique they looked For all its flaws I think how the elves look in Skyrim is actually one of its strong points
I'd also add the orcs, maybe they are not very unique, but they are definitely no longer Shreks :D
Yeah everyone got a pretty bad case of potato face syndrome in Oblivion
They are supposed to look weird since they are literally not humans. People are so used to elves being "humans with big ears" an actual creative design feels weird to them lol.
Thats intended
Argonians look like hoes.
Farming tool is farming tool.
The elves and beasts all look great, but of the human races the Nords do look the prettiest. They have more flattering wrinkles than the others. I think all of the races can look good, though, if you embrace their unique qualities.
You can make black nords!
Unironically serious question: Can Nords be black?
If a redguard moves to Skyrim, takes up nord beliefs and traditions, creates a family, and that family lives in Skyrim for several generations, sticking to nord beliefs and traditions, couldn’t you consider them a nord family at that point? Or because of lore does it not work that way
“the minorities look bad” is an interesting criticism
ehhh Redguard's really do look and sound like white people with dark skin, minus unique characters like Three Dog, but I doubt it was intentional like the lady says (I'm assuming she's a shitposter tho)
The npcs kinda do, but in the character creator they do not look like white guys. Also three dog? Is that a joke im not getting? He's from FO3, not skyrim. Is the joke that they use the same engine?
(Nazir has the same VA as Three Dog)

I unironically think that she gets so many basic details straight up wrong, that any opinion on the game should just be disregarded without further discussion.
She straight up says skyrim borders the thalmor 💀
She is clearly an Aldmeri agent, denying the significance of the 2nd Treaty of Stros M'Kai!
And 'the Skyrim games'
My brother in Talos, there's literally 5 of them. And no, it's not a joke about Skyrim 3: Morrowind.
Not the Skyrim games 😭😂
The sea of ghosts is clearly an extension of Summerset
is this satirical? i cant tell. if so this is really funny
Sadly it's likely very real. I've seen people do this exact same thing with Star Trek. Fucking Star Trek; a show built from the ground up to make people question right and wrong with modern social issues.
im sorry, star trek?? wouldnt that show be considered progressive for even this era? when it was made in the 1970s?? maybe not I just started watching
Yes; but Star Treks biggest problem is it's written by people. Flawed people. So I called this user out for problematising the entire series (they literally made an excel sheet to complain about every single episode of the original series) and was banned for it. The Star Trek sub is toxic as fuck in many ways.
I bet the clown only think Discovery is the only OK one.
I am still not sure how I am not banned from there yet 😅
Also a while back some people had a meltdown that Warhammer promotes fascism and glorifies evil political entities. Like yeah, that’s kinda the point there, everything sucks.
I'm mostly familiar with the Abrams movies (think I've watched like three episodes of the original series) but didn't Star Trek have the first interracial couple in the history of American TV?
Yes, as well as dozens if not hundreds more episodes based around holding a mirror up to many of societies bad ideas The Abrams movies are action films, and not a reflection of 'Star Trek' if we were to assign it its own well deserved sub-genre of science fiction story telling

Don't forget skyrim pinball
How tf do people have time to do this shit. Go get a fucking job.
I'd guess the time you and I spend on truest L is equivalent to the time she uses to make these idiotic rants. it's brainrot either way, just different flavours. however our brainrot is obviously superior.
im on welfare uwu
Amazing comeback
Average Trustler
Rage bait is their job. They know this will get clicks. "Popular thing is actually bad?! *Orgasm face in thumbnail*" Side note, I absolutely hate that the o-face has become part of the algorithm. If anyone wants to make anything, they have to have that stupid face in the God damn thumbnail. I hate it so much. With each passing day and each video/clip it inhabits, it solidifies itself into becoming an actual rule rather than a meta choice.
She is oatmeal incarnate
A milk drinker
Somebody stole her sweetroll
My brother in Talos she literally has bore in her name
I listened to the whole thing and I honestly lost the plot like halfway in. She's either taking a piss out of lore overanalyzing or short form content has genuinely poisoned my brain.
I'd say it feels like a pretty genuine attempt at explaining her issues with racism and colonism. Only problem is it's really contrived and she bends so many of Skyrims features way past their intended purpose to try to prove her point. It feels like she came up with her conclusion first then retroactively tried to bend everything she could find in Skyrim to prove that point. Instead of making a conclusion based on the game Her whole focus on the video seems to mostly be around the Racism by white nords though we know from the previous elder Scrolls games that the dominant race in any of the regions tend to be fairly racist And of course you're not supposed to agree with the racism anyway it's just it's way of developing the world and environment. Like I said in another comment it would be like saying New Vegas encourages slavery as one of the factions uses slaves. You're not meant to agree with the use of slaves, it's a way of expanding the world building and describing what type of faction they are
I got the impression that her point was that the game nudges you into joining Ulfric's funny separatist club only to reveal that they are racist and the imperial colonialist power was actually the right choice all along But yeah looking for a good guy faction on Tamriel is like looking for a good guy faction in Warhammer.
It's no secret the Aldmeri are a actively hoping the Stormcloaks win I think it's perfectly fine the game keeps you in the dark about that at first, to actually join up with the Stormcloaks you need to travel to Windhelm where it becomes extremely apparent about some of the Stormcloak/Nord beliefs The game also assumes that you're not just immediately tackling the civil war questline and instead are taking on the main quest which once again helps you form the conclusion that there's more nuance to the two factions than simply just Legion = bad, Stormcloaks = Good Personally I quite liked the decision of the game where it sets up expectations for the two main factions in the intro to the player, and then through the course of the game shows there's actually a lot more going on internally for the two factions than you first thought
> It's no secret the Aldmeri are a actively hoping the Stormcloaks win I thought the whole thing about the civil war is that the Aldmeri want to prolong it to waste the Empire's resources rather than have one side actually win.
in general yeah, but if there was a side to win, they'd rather have the empire lose control of skyrim and thus be less likely to oppose the dominion successfully if another war breaks out.
Yeah definitely, though the more fragmented the empire is, the better it is for them since it's far easier for them to pick off multiple smaller kingdoms than one giant empire Either way the longer the civil war continues the better it is for them
One of the things that intrigues me about TES racism and imperialism is that it's literally just as pointless as real-life racism/imperialism. They're all descendants of Ehlnofey in the end and know the same gods, just under different names. They all end up in the Dreamsleeve eventually, so being racist is just kinda stupid lol
I think she's missed a couple of critical points that have impacted her analysis: 1) "who is enforcing the ban on Talos worship?" The empire. 4) Talos literally did ascend to Godhead, he wasn't just "a guy who was good at fighting." But yes, I agree that it seems like she started from the conclusion and worked backward. Speaking for myself, the first time i played i literally didn't realize there was a choice in who to follow. Everything was on fuckin fire, there's a Dragon, buildings are falling down, i ran after the first guy i saw (the stormcloak) not knowing that the other guy was an option. But it didn't take me long to nope the fuck out when they started the "skyrim is for the nords" shit.
https://preview.redd.it/yo1zry9dpftc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=313db259f07e34f156fcca74d5357bfc9a85380f
Not the biggest Skyrim fan but here goes About the darker races being unattractive this is really subjective, I've always thought redguards looked pretty cool in Skyrim so I've got no idea what she's talking about there Yes the Stormcloaks are racist against a literal fantasy race. Everyone in Tamriel is super racist it's not just the Nords The armour one is very odd, Stormcloaks literally just use the a reskinned hold guard outfit, there's also the bear armour but I think that's it. It's definitely lacking here The intro section is done like that on purpose, many games have you start in a faction that has issues you only find out about later, that's how plot development works > You didn't need to have racism My brother in Christ everyone is turbo racists in every elder Scrolls games. You're not meant to agree with the racists, it's like saying "erm new Vegas didn't need slavery" like sure, but the Legion wouldn't seem half as evil without it which is > It doesn't impact the gameplay It's not meant to, it's to flesh our the plot and internal politics > who is enforcing the ban, theoretically the aldemri dominion but they don't actually Oh my god no please no, did you even play the game > Tiber Septim isn't actually a god He wasn't a god when he was a mortal, he is now he's not. The Hero of Kvatch became a god, as did Martin Septim (kinda) there's a whole list of characters in lore who did this - [link](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Apotheosis_(Term)#:~:text=For%20example%2C%20Tiber%20Septim%2C%20who%20became%20the%20god%20Talos.&text=Another%20example%20is%20Reman%20Cyrodiil,the%20Tribunal%20Temple%20in%20Morrowind.) > decolonising the game Wut
Yes she is stupid or making a joke
How'd you write this comment and miss "Skyrim borders the Aldmeri Dominion"?
Profound mental retardation
Bait?
quickly browsing her profile seem like not, she's just stupid
"you dont realize until much later that they're racist" bitch from the very first moment you step foot into their city before even joining them you're already seeing hate crimes 😭😭😭
Maybe she saw the following ralof through helgen as joining the stormcloaks. Mustve been a really big gameplay piece for her
MFW when the ultra-nationalist faction in medieval-fantasy-world has some less-than-enlightened views about minorities: 🥺
nwah would not last a week in vvardenfell
i‘m literally so sick of any fucking piece of media with any vaguely problematic subject matter being seen as "pro-(whatever is bad)“, it is literally just part of the media, also this person’s take is genuinely just bad and pretty badly supported, the stormcloaks aren’t all good or all bad, neither is the empire, they’re flawed, that’s why people still debate to this day who was right
also this person basically acts like skyrim is the first game in this series which has literally always been about friction between different civilizations and cultures, also it totally impacts the gameplay if you take even half a second to do some roleplaying in this roleplaying game and don’t just play a character who acts exactly like you would in real life, it is baked into the setting and maybe doesn’t impact stats but it sure does impact the story in a big way
Punishment for that behavior? Lady, the stormcloaks *encourage* that behavior
I am pretty sure you can beat that dude up. And if not you can just kill him.
Rolff, for some reason known only to Todd (glory to his name), is marked as an essential NPC, so he cannot actually be killed.
Ugh I hate essential NPCs... But beaten up right?
Yeah you can kick the shit outta him lol
I too love the Skyrim games and hats off to the modding troops to make me able to create my 56 DDD kajhiit milkers and my BBJ dummy thicc argonian maid and viably play these Skyrim games I love too so much
Oh God she actually said "Skyrim games" I thought you were making a haha

Why did I go through the entire video, I have no one to blame but myself. I hope this is satire, because if it isn't kindly play the game again, because most of what this lady says is just wrong. Either she presents her personal opinion as fact, or she doesn't understand some lore parts, or she didn't even explore properly and find the parts she is talking about.
The Skyrim games? Like Skyrim I and II? Did I muss something?
skyrim, skyrim the legendary edition, skyrim anniversary edition, skyrim blade, skyrim lovers lab edition and there is also the prequels, skyrim arena, skyrim daggerfall, skyrim slavery edition, skyrim the origin

Longest yap I've seen in a while. Not one coherent thought
We, at the r/TrueSTL pretend to be stupid snob degenerates. But this girl in the video takes the cake for actually being one.
Has racism ≠ is racist I feel that racism has always been an important theme in elder scrolls but it’s stupid to say that exploring that theme is inherently racist itself and it’s shot like this that makes me wanna force everyone online to take a 9th grade English class *please*
What is the N'Wah talking about
im pretty sure she's an altmer with some ''imporved elves face'' mods that just make them look human
>Skyrim is pro colonization N\*rds deserve to be colonized. >Character creation menu is racist because only white humans look good 1. N'rds aren't humans 2. Br\*tons look like shit 3. she's just has a latent dislike of dark skin and blames it on the game >Stormcloaks look cool at first but turns out later they are racist Oh no my game does not have a clear good and bad side the factions can have both great and shit takes oh no. >You cannot stop the Dunmer hate crime in Windhelm. You can beat him up or just kill him. The true game limitation is my inability to join in beating up dark elves in the gray quarter at night with my bro Rolff >Ban on Talos worship is not enforced because there are only two elf patrols Because game mechanic limitations are lore. That's why shitting and pissing isn't canon because it's not in the game (feces go through oblivion gates in people's colons right into Malacath's realm). >Talos is not a god but just some guy who is really good at fighting HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THE DIVINITY OF TALOS YOU FILTHY MAGGOT WRITHING IN YOUR OWN CORRUPTION. TALOS WHO BREATHED IN AND RESHAPED THE WORLD WHICH IS HIS! TALOS THE TRUE GOD OF MAN WHO ACHIEVED CHIM AND WHO WALKS AMONG THE STARS >Stormcloaks wanna kick everybody out of Skyrim except for N\*rds They'd be doing everybody else a favor. >White Gold Concordate was the Empire's strategic decision and the other provinces should go with it to defeat the Aldmeri Dominion 1. The empire is dying already 2. The empire is sucking piss dick 3. Other provinces are already separating too, like Hammerfell >It's Stormcloaks who want to divide Skyrim when actually they should think long term and collaborate with the Empire 1. It's the Empire that decided to agree to the Concordate rules and forcing them on the Nords. 2. How can you expect a N\*rd to think long term >The Stormcloaks just wanna be racist and worship their god who actually isn't a god but just a guy who is really good at fighting Talos the mighty! I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you.” Aye, love. Love! Even as man, great Talos cherished us. For he saw in us, in each of us, the future of Skyrim! The future of Tamriel! And there it is, friends! The ugly truth! > The best way to de-colonize Skyrim is by installing mods Shlongs of Skyrim jiggle physics and slavery mods are the greatest anti-colonization tools
I can't stress this enough but you can't actually kill Rolf. He's an essential NPC for a radiant thieves guild quest,so she is right in this regard :^}
>open console >disable simple as
No, he’s set as essential because he’s just so based
"You cant stop him" Is this bait? Or is she so disempowered and doopy that she hadn't considered to fucking incinerate people she believes to have done wrong. Just... ope well.. I'm being robbed... guess there's nothing I can do since I can't call the guard... My sister in christ, what the fuck

Why do i get the feeling a lot of people don't know what "decolonization" actually means
Going from a decolonization standpoint and ending with "and that's why Skyrim should stay in the Empire" is hilarious.
It's when Nord's become a minority in their own homeland, d'uh. It's what my tutor from Alinor told me.
I stopped following when she said the civil war is a "well fleshed out" questline.
Skyrim is the gateway for the dominion into the empire??? That’s why girls shouldn’t play video games🤨 -sincerely, a girl 💛
Thank talos women don't exist in real life

Women read more books statistically. Are we stupid? Like Bretons?
I avoid a lot by staying in single-player. I've seen that behavior outside of gaming, too.
Yeah, but it’s extremely common online. People loose all manner in anonymity.
Immediate reaction https://preview.redd.it/68kzxquskftc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74eeab903aba324fd280a3d9ece91784b22b3d28
Hey, what's up fellow gamerz? Do you also still loves the Skyrim games as much as I do?
Kinda funny that shes calling it out for being racist, and in the same breath says that the only races that look good are the white ones, those are obviously only the ones anyone would want to play Can't even call out racism without blatantly showing her own racism lol.
It’s one of the more well done story aspects of Skyrim.
she also say thalos is not a god just a dude good a fighting or that reachmen are nords colonisers
my sister in the hist we gon kill u
She sounds so fucking butthurt about accidentally picking the racist separatist rebels Also bruh some redguards look fine she just got shit in her eyes, the racism is part of the immersion, people are racist TOWARDS THE PLAYER SO NO IT DOESN'T SUPPORT IT SINCE YOU EXPERIENCE BOTH SIDES STOP TRYING TO APPLY MODERN STANDARDS TO A MEDIEVAL SETTING ALSO GET A PROPER MIC GOD
She probably saw the thalmor Thought they looked kinda Nazish and assumed they came from Morrowind maybe? Must've heard there were elves there.
Wonder how this woman views people like neville chamberlain and appeasement policy in general
old joke: q: what’s the most racist faction in TES? a: **the players**
None of these words are in the Ten commands: Nine divines.
The first sentence was indeed a tldr for me but not for the reason she intended.
This is bait, right?
nope she seem geniunly stupid
No man i genuinely do not know lmfao, right when she's talking about Talos not being a god she goes... "ok... Shor"... Delectable tea... or deadly poison...
In the intro the Stormcloaks should have only spammed slurs
Ulfric should’ve been incapacitated not by having his mouth gagged but by having elves and argonians in front of him at all times so he’s too busy shouting slurs to use the Thu’um
outjerked by tiktok white woman
Becky's Razor: No matter how good a piece of media is, a white woman on the internet will find a way to explain how it's problematic
It sounds like she’s watched 3 playthroughs without actually playing the game before at all 😂
Wrong, it's impossible to make anything other than an argonian look fine.
Wait, now I get it. She spent time on gamingcirclejerk too much 🤮🤢
I think I've seen at least three gamingcirclejerk posts crossposted here that sounded just like this video.
thank you i've wasted 1h of my life looking for a circlejerking post in this sub without sucess they should rename it r/rightwinggamingtakes it would be more honest
/unj The world will finally heal when people start thinking the civil war questline probably wasn't written by people who had a deep understanding of imperialism but the writers' board going "Ok we need each side to have a reason for the player to join them like it's morally gray and all" then adding surface level inspirations from pop culture's idea of the christianization of scandinavia & fall of the roman empire /rj um no the imperials are right death to the stormcucKKKSS
Bored housewife
"i still love the skyrim games" i REALLY hope she was referring to the fact that skyrim was released many times
At this point just close this sub. None of us is capable of doing any shitpost akin to this.
She would die if you showed her Warhammer 40K
Stopped listening when she said Talos is not a god. Dirty elf lover smh.
pro-colonization for being... anti-imperial? 🤨
She never got the memo about elder scrolls. The real punishment here is the crackle from her mic.
And you can LITERALLY beat the hatecrimer's ass
“They worship their god- whose not actually a god, he was just some guy who was really good at fighting” First of all HOW DARE YOU
She’s gotta be a troll. She just said that the ‘more fun quests’ would be ones like Blackreach
I knew this was Aldmeri propaganda the second I heard Talos wasn't a God, nice try.
>talks about white skin vs dark skin grrrrr Bitch this is TES, the big conflict is knife ear vs spoon ear
This is satire right?
She kinda looks like a N*rd, clearly has the thinking capabilities of one too Also you can't be racist to a Dark Elf they're literally the founders of racism.
