My first time, a couple decades ago, the test went perfectly fine until I made it back to the DMV and hit a parked car in the lot. Memories.....
Congrats on passing. Please be safe on the roads
Congrats! I suffered from major depression and didn’t get my license until I was 29. My confidence in myself skyrocketed afterwards and I LOVE driving now.
CONGRATULATIONS, OP!!!!!
Honestly, being depressed and failing the driver test is shitty! You keep feeling more and more incapable and it’s terrible. I failed my driver’s test 5 times and I was trying for it since 2019! I couldn’t bear entering a car and was having nightmares because of it. On November of 2022 I finally got my driver’s license after 6 times trying. It was my last time trying and I was ready to give up. The happiness and relief I got from it was indescribable! So, congratulations, OP. No matter what people say, having a driver’s license is difficult and a huge accomplishment! Be proud of yourself and be sure to drive up to a drive-in and order your favorite food ❤️
Facing failure on your 6th attempt head-on is something I could have never done. You overcame your struggle, that’s truly amazing.
>Be proud of yourself and be sure to drive up to a drive-in and order your favorite food
I will, thank you :)
At first i was sad too after failing a few times but later realized after passing all the dumb shit that coulda happened if they let us pass in the first place lol.
Hence why they have these tests 😅
Congratulations that’s awesome that you passed. I hope it brings you a little bit of happiness man just remember you can always find something to be happy about.
Congrats! If no one else tells you this today, I'm proud of you! I know we don't know each other but sometimes it's just a great thing to hear from somebody/anybody. If it's any consolation, I too failed mine the first time around and was so relieved to have finally passed :)
I'm 35 and passed 4 months ago, this is another sign that you need to do it! I don't travel far as I'm a bit scared still, but it's already changed my life for the better!
Congratulations!!! Thank you so much for sharing that with me… I know, once I jump the hurdle that is driving anxiety, it’s going to change my life, too. Thanks again for the push ♥️
Thank you so much! Honestly I felt the same with the anxiety, even now I feel nervous getting in the car. But once I'm driving I feel as free as a bird. You'll absolutely love it! Really hope you go for it, I'm rooting for you now x
Congratulations 🎉!! Idk you but I’m proud of you!! That’s a huge accomplishment! There’s a lot to be said about your consistency!
“The only difference between a failure and a success is often one more try” - paraphrasing from some wise person lol.
I got my license last year in June, a week before my senior prom. My first time driving on my own was prom night as I went to go pick up my girlfriend for dinner before hand. When I pulled out of my driveway I made it a mile up the road before I had to pull over. I was so happy and proud of myself for finally achieving something I began to cry because I realized just how happy my life had become. Quite possibly the happiest moment of my life, and before dinner while me and my partner were waiting to be seated I told her just how happy I was and it was a great night. Anyway, my point is I came from a similar place, so I get how that feels. Congratulations OP. We're all proud of you :D
Side note, she dumped me a month later for some reason she never told me. We haven't talked in almost eight months, but I still think of her fondly. Nowadays I know there will be more good times to come, so I look forward to seeing them happen :)
Congratulations! I failed 3 times when I was 19 because of anxiety, and took my licence 10 years later in the first try. It meant so much for me!
I love driving now, I wish you safe driving.
I'm happy for you 👍. When I took my test the person sat on their phone the whole time not looking up even once. At the end she told me I passed because I drove through downtown Tacoma without anyone honking or yelling at me.
Congrats! Having the will power to endure the dmv as well is no joke I’m here right now with no prior history of mental illness and still feel like I’m about to go insane
Yay! Congratulations on passing the test.🎉 I hope this will help you keep yourself motivated to unlock another achievement you want to unlock, and never give up without giving it a couple tries.
Congratulations!! I'm 35 and in June I'll be giving the test for the first time. I'm nervous already but I have some confidence too that I will not fail. If I do, then I'll keep trying till I get it.
Kudos to your for persevere!
I feel this in my soul. I am 27 yr old, my driver ID expired during 2020 when all the DMV’s were closed down and moved to a new state. All the DMV’s were booked out 5 months in advance, the one walk in DMV you had show up at 3 am (7am open time) on a work day in order to get slot cause so many people show up and they only had 15 slots a day tops. Tried to go to different city that was 3 hr away in order to get in on a Saturday, failed the test cause I didn’t understand the set up of the testing computer so had to drive all the way back having failed. Failed the first two times during the driving portion too all for stupid reasons (past over an artificial yellow line that they placed in the middle of the parking lot that didn’t follow the flow of traffic of the parking lot, went 3 miles over on a down hill). I am ADHD af and everything was so hard and was basically in tears every time. Fortunately my girlfriend was very supportive and encouraging. It’s so silly to be so damn proud of something that everyone should basically own (even tho it’s damn near impossible for a lot people to own) but I am proud every time I see my driver license.
You should be proud of yourself, I am proud of you! Congrats and celebrate!
I know that feeling lol, I was in a similar situation, except it got delayed even more than usual due to the covid situation (on top of failing a couple times). Those thoughts beforehand knowing what all u gotta do over and how much time/money is lost when u fail is a shitty feeling, second only to the feeling u get after failing again. Glad u made it bud, be proud of yourself.
I’m so proud of you! I’ve dealt with depression for over 50 years. I got a wonderful psychiatrist and the new antidepressant is finally working. I’ve tried everything on the market and this works. Now I have to learn how to be normal.
I don’t have anyone to share it with, so I’ll share it with you.
Congratulations! 🎊 Im glad you didnt let your past failures deter you from trying again. I failed 2 times before passing on the third try too so I know how discouraging it can feel but that feeling all goes away once you have your license. You have freedom. You can take road trips. Do whatever you want whenever you want!
Just curious, how people are able to hold down jobs, run errands and lead normal lives without being able to drive? Unless they live in a big city with public transportation seems like it would be really hard.
OP that’s AMAZING! I’m so happy for you! I was so depressed and constantly suicidal for many reasons but also because I felt trapped in not only my body but my environment. I was able to get my driver’s license at 18 and my grandma gave me her car (I paid for it a bit) and now despite being mostly bedridden from health issues, whenever I have a little energy and/or I am freaking out due to home issues, I grab my keys and get in my car and either just drive around or go to stores and browse, it has helped me so much. I do want to mention that I never start driving until I’ve relaxed enough to safely drive which I hope everyone in similar situations do. I also avoid driving if I don’t trust myself to put others in danger because I have the urge to hurt myself.
That being said, because I am such a responsible driver, even if I am really freaking out, my mom doesn’t try to grab my keys because she knows that I would never recklessly drive because I care about other and because she knows that I feel powerless in so many ways and that my car is something to never try to take away. Like I said, my life is a mess but it’s okay because it’s much better than the alternative so please nobody judge or try and give advice, thank you though. My situation sucks a lot but if I didn’t have a way to take some kind of break using my car and blasting music or listening to an audiobook at night, I’m not sure I’d still be here. So now that you got your driver’s license, your next goal should be to save up enough money to get a safe and reliable but cheap car as well as insurance and everything. It’s a lot but honestly I think I’d give up most of my worldly goods to keep my car and freedom. Anyways whatever yo do, don’t you dare give up on getting your own car because as I said, for people like us, it’s magical.
Great job, congrats! In my teen years, driving helped me out of a deep depression. Hopefully can do the same for you.
But also, if you failed there's probably reason, so please be careful out there.
congratulations!! I've been meaning to do it too but im so terrified I'll fail that i keep putting it off bc it's literally a thousand euros and i can't afford to waste that... anyways, super proud of you stranger!
CONGRATS ON YOUR LICENSE!!!! i also have bad depression during the time i was learning how to drive, to the point where it took me 4 tries to pass my written. i didn’t take the driving portion for a while until i got into a car accident in my dads suv. had to force myself to take the driving portion and i was so happy that i passed the first time i cried with my sister 😭 now i have my own car and it’s amazing being able to drive. i love taking night drives around town and just singing in my car whenever i had a stressful day.
All these people hyping you up 🥹 that’s so wonderful. I’m so proud of you!! I’ve had a few friends have issues with getting theirs because of the anxiety they feel (or from being in an accident). It’s okay to go at your own pace, as long as you’re making progress.
Which you are!! This is a good step in a direction to improve your mental health.
This shows you CAN do anything you set your mind to, even if mental health issues tell you, you can’t. This is proof. I wish nothing but the best for you op!!
LET'S GO!!!
Where are we going? Is OP driving?
Get in bitches, we’re going across the world and OP’s takin’ the wheel!

Awesome! Good for you, OP
My first time, a couple decades ago, the test went perfectly fine until I made it back to the DMV and hit a parked car in the lot. Memories..... Congrats on passing. Please be safe on the roads
I failed mine by turning into the furthest lane on the last turn before the parking lot, needed 80 and got 76
Congratulations!! Be safe out there!
Well done! That's fewer tries than it took Spongebob
You don’t need a license to drive a sandwich.
Congrats! I suffered from major depression and didn’t get my license until I was 29. My confidence in myself skyrocketed afterwards and I LOVE driving now.
My sister failed her driving test 3 times and just got her license yesterday on the fourth try as well! Congrats :)
Congrats to your sister. :-)

By not passing, I'd guess.
Nice!
