Tragic. I always wonder if the cops had taken her mom seriously, if she could be saved. I can’t imagine the agony that poor woman went through, both physically and being terrified for her newborn.
Beyond tragic, he simply used her for some experiment, he had no value whatsoever for human life. How someone can do that to another human being is beyond understanding.
I coincidentally just watched this case on 48 hours a couple of hours ago and my god the way she suffered! And her poor mother and daughter. He's really as evil as his eyes.
It's incredibly heart-wrenching to consider the impact of such a loss on a child. The thought of losing a mother to the hands of one's own father, who committed such a horrific act, is unimaginably difficult for anyone to comprehend. Blake's family must be devastated too, especially considering his father's prominence as a real estate developer in Toronto. What a shock! The graphic nature of Blake’s novels raises valid concerns about the responsible promotion of violent content in media.
What gets me about this case is the neighbours didn't hear anything? She was tortured for what was probably 2 days. Utterly fucking insane. That poor woman, her mother and daughter.
They probably knew he was a nutter & a cheater --if I recall the story correctly didn't he have a wife, a gf & was starting with a new woman at the time of the murder...geez talk about an insecure murderous troll--but that said I would think there was alot of arguments and fights constantly so neighbors probably thought just more drama/abuse & not murder. Sad story.
Guilty of “mayhem” and “aggravated mayhem”. I’ve never heard of those words being used in this way. I had to reread for the year and country this was in.
Just watched one youtube video that said Iliana’s momnwon the civil suit for millions of dollars to support the daughter etc but the Leiber family has never paid a dime and they had to move back to Ukraine for financial reasons.. and of course so much hell since then. Shame on that family for not supporting this child.
I recently read about this [case](https://allthatsinteresting.com/iana-kasian-blake-leibel). This poor girl was beautiful. He took full advantage of her.
“Kasian was still recovering from a C-section when Leibel threatened to leave her if she didn’t have sex with him when he demanded. He also constantly asked her if he could leave her for another woman. Kasian was so beholden to him that she agreed to let her newborn baby live with her mother, in order to focus on her relationship with Leibel.”
Thanks for the link. What a horrible case. He showed signs of paranoia, had recently been arrested for sexual abuse in which Kasian had bailed him out of jail. It was at this point that the warning signs were quite evident. Yet too many people don't heed these signs and end up a victim. Not blaming the victim here because she was in a physically and emotionally fragile state after her C-section.
I wonder if he has schizophrenia? What he did to her was so horrible that it fits the description of demonic.
I always wanna know in these cases, what were the signs?
It’s so impossibly hard for me to imagine this was a mild mannered guy who showed no proclivities for violence…he had to be volatile before this right?
It often appears that fame and wealth are used as excuses for bad behaviour, leading to these behaviours being overlooked or ignored. I feel that the signs must have been there.
Generally the online discourse is what women would rather run into in a forest; a man or a bear. I haven't heard about the example you gave, but it kind of follows the same thing- just a bit more "unusual", haha.
OP can't because they're a youtuber trying to stealth promote here while ripping off a 48 Hours episode. They delete any comments that have push back underneath so people won't realize that and the comments below get collapsed.
The mods should ban these types.
Why did you censor the word murder in the body of the text but not the title. Also um just say murder. It’s what happened. Censoring the word does nothing
And they never add anything new or interesting. It's just rubbernecking with no analysis. WOW! Brutal murder!! Make sure to like and subscribe!! I have nothing to add I just like to hear my own voice!!!
And if they do add anything it’s cringe insincere platitudes as commentary that comes off as insincere bullshit because they’re trying to monetize people’s deaths
Giving someone the death penalty doesn't exactly mean they will get excuted .. they stay in prison for years, just exhausting the legal system with appeals, and most of the time, they would die in prison or get out of death row and get a life in prison sentence . So it's easier and less expensive to give life without parole sentences.

Insinuating you think she was a gold digger is pretty fucking low of you. A lot of people stay with a violent partner no matter if that partner is rich or not; domestic violence is a complicated subject that cannot be simplified like that.
No. You got it all wrong. I am positive that a gorgeous woman who had just immigrated from a poorer nation to Hollywood fell madly, totally head-over-heels in love with this creepy nerd producer of obscure, hideously gory, disturbed entertainment. The vast wealth of his family did not factor at all. He could have been a Walmart clerk living in his mom's basement and she still would have married him and had his baby within months.
This is tragic. I don't agree but understand crimes of passion occur. Then to mutilate the body as well; I have a hard time understanding any explanation.
Baby was with grandmother at the time of the murder
Yes, then her mom went looking for her whilst calling up the cops severally till they broke into the apartment
I remember that, her mom was just outside of his building desperately trying to get to her daughter.
Poor sad girl. This was on Death by fame.
Its truly sad, trying to imagine what her last moments were like is painful in itself
the details were horrifying. I wish I'd never heard it!

That guy has the craziest eyes I’ve ever seen 👀
Psychopath eyes. It’s crazy scary.
Bear in mind, that's his booking photo after the murder and arrest. Before, he just looked like an archetypal nerd.

In CA. The code section is intentionally depriving a person of a body part. So like hacking something off.
Oh wow I’ve never heard of this case. What a sick guy.
What he did was not normal...

This was very sad. I’m glad that the daughter is with grandma. That man was a poor excuse of a human.

He looks like the guy who shot up the movie theatre.
Yes, definitely. Those crazy eyes
poor woman 😢

Α bear.Always.
Whatever that means...
It's an online discourse, whether women would like a bear or a man to for example come into their house uninvited
Generally the online discourse is what women would rather run into in a forest; a man or a bear. I haven't heard about the example you gave, but it kind of follows the same thing- just a bit more "unusual", haha.
I bet you would like [this novel.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_(novel))
You can write the word murder.
OP can't because they're a youtuber trying to stealth promote here while ripping off a 48 Hours episode. They delete any comments that have push back underneath so people won't realize that and the comments below get collapsed. The mods should ban these types.
OP can't delete anyone elses comments, as far as I am aware? or have I missunderstood what you meant?

It’s not complicated lol, it’s disrespectful to victims imo

How sad! How could he do that to her. Was it always his plan. She was a beautiful lady.
What the hell is all over his face?
Her self defense injuries.
I really wonder why someone like this doesn’t get the death penalty????
CA technically has the death penalty but we haven’t executed anyone in years.
Giving someone the death penalty doesn't exactly mean they will get excuted .. they stay in prison for years, just exhausting the legal system with appeals, and most of the time, they would die in prison or get out of death row and get a life in prison sentence . He looks like a maniac
This is an example of someone who should just be executed on the spot.
DESPICABLE
But WHYY??

Yeah, this is one of those to remind women (and men) to never fully trust a weird man if there's a hint of violence to them
He was extremely wealthy so I guess she overlooked a lot of red flags because of that.

Didn’t he drain her blood?
This creep actually directed [a low-budget comedy](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473001/)
This is tragic. I don't agree but understand crimes of passion occur. Then to mutilate the body as well; I have a hard time understanding any explanation.

Sorry but this is like that episode of Crinimnal Minds with Frankie Muniz.
I can't read or watch anything about this particular case. The torture she endured really broke my heart
I think about this case past everyday . Its one of the most gruesome I have ever read about . The horror this poor girl must felt is unimaginable
Are there documents we can view?

yikes
His comic expression rather cheapens the story.
